Always have a takeaway from Mr Ming when visiting Southend, best Chinese takeaway in my opinion. I enjoy the Hong Kong style chille prawns, portions are really good and mushroom rice delicious

Used to be good, been going down hill for a while, last three orders have been terrible, gave benefit off doubt, will find another Chinese who value their loyal customer.

We’ve been going here for many years at least twice a month. We were recommended many a friend . We have tried other restaurants for family meals etc but nothing matches up. You can see the food being cooked, they are happy to change things up for you, always friendly and can’t say we have ever needed to complain about anything, fresh, hot , delicious food, very reasonably priced. . What more do You need to know?

your chow mien tasted like a 1000 dead quims dragged up out the mud on the seafront... Never again ! food was cooked in 2 minutes !

Please believe I moved from Southend to Bristol.Been here for over 10 years now have tried lots of Chinese takeaways.Not one off them here comes any where near mr Ming as ate there for 30 years before moving to big city that can’t cook for love nor money.Best Kung po chicken ever and curry’s fantastic and very reasonable compared to here.They want like £10 a curry and taste more like stew.

Very disappointed for not being greeted by children, the kids were nice a cute but didn’t even say hello smh. Great food tho 👌🏽

I was surprised by the amount of choice that was available and the amount of times the food was refreshed, didn't have a drink as the bar was either full of people or not manned.

Collected prawn toast, peking ribs, wonton soup, Hong Kong sweet and sour chicken, beef in black bean sauce, vegetables in garlic sauce, egg fried rice, chips and satay sauce. I cannot fault any of the food. Every single dish was excellent. Beautifully cooked and seasoned in a timely manner and the prices were very reasonable. The prawn toast and the peking ribs in particular were exceptional. By far the best I have had from a Chinese takeaway (including Southend and Chinatown, London). The gentleman who took my order and the lady who bagged up my order were very friendly. Will definitely order again soon!

Greeted by 5 small children running around behind the counter for most of the night, owner shouted at a customer then told us food would be 20 minutes we waited 55 minutes, dish missing when we arrived home. When I was driving home the delivery driver from here chased up my car bumper beebing to get past waving his fist, when I went back to complain a local taxi driver had beat me to it the delivery driver in a blue Peugeot had hit his taxi & the owner was trying to cover him by offering food to get him off. All in all this place has gone down hill you can buy the curry sauce that they use for £1. from farmfoods or Iceland. Food here is massively over priced. Don't waste your money go to Mr Ping or The Tasty.

Always great food. Live nearby never had a bad meal from here, go at least once a week for the last ten years.

Excellent food, wonderful BBQ ribs, very tasty curry, and lovely fluffy rice. All delivered hot and on time.

When the food arrived the order was wrong, when I complained was told it was new staff. They could replace but it would take 45-60 minutes. The chicken was totally slimed like reconstituted stuff. Unable to eat. Will never go there again

I love the menu, good flavour with flavoursome rich sticky ribs and other menus such as chow mein (my favourite) is really good; good flavour and the beef is tinder. I would come here again for another Chinese night.

This is my local Chinese take away that I've used for years and I can honestly say I have never had a bad meal from them. I've tried a couple of other take away's recently when Mr Ming was shut and have been very disappointed with them. Mr. Ming curry's are lovely and thick and nice and spicy just how a good Chinese curry should be. They have an open kitchen so if you are collecting you can see the food prepared in front of you. Staff are always friendly and I highly recommend it.

I must say I will never return regardless of the quality of the food I have taken this photo to show a worker at Mr Mings standing on a food preparation area & cleaning above the area where our food was being prepared, while I'm all for cleanliness there is absolutely no reason to do this as I find it disgusting as any dirt could have falling into our food as it was being cooked below. The staff started shouting in Chinese when they had seen me take the photo if it worried them that much they shouldn't have been doing it during opening times.

Not great food or value, give Jade Garden a go much better standard of food local Chinese at Southchurch.

we have been using this takeaway for around 15 years now, can'y fault the food - if we have friends round for a take away they always comment on how nice it all is, we usually go for a set dinner and then add in some exta dishes, have never had a bad meal and look forward to using again.

He estado yendo al Sr. Ming durante 20 años, y a pesar de la cutre zona está situado en un lugar estupendo. Sin embargo, hace unos años nuevos propietarios. Creo que los mismos chefs son todavía cocinar la comida, pero he notado que la calidad de la carne vaya cuesta abajo. Mi plato favorito a la orden era siempre el pollo Black Bean con grandes trozos de pollo y una salsa generoso pero después de que los nuevos propietarios tomaron allí era casi cualquier salsa y el pollo no me gusto bastante justo. Lo mismo con el Chow Mein, eran los fideos lo mismo pero el pollo no era justo. Es una pena, ya que desde que nos detuvimos con ellos he podido encontrar una pizzería chino tan bueno como el 'viejo' Sr. Ming.

After a recent incident i feel the need to put this review on here.

We have been using this take away for several months. My wife has Crohns disease so she has to be very careful in what she eats. Certain vegeatables do not digest well although I can eat anything, except shellfish, so we have to make sure the meals are prepared to specifications.This take away has never let us down and still manages to preserve the authentic Chinese flavours.

This was our local a few years back and when we moved house we carried on using Mr Ming. One of our favourite takeaway places, the standard is consistently good. Quite fast and friendly delivery too.

Good takeaway food. Never had a bad one from here and its always consistantly good and about average value. This is one of the better takeaways before you get into the more pricey end of chinese takeaways

It was my friends birthday, so we decided to have chinese, we waited for 15 min but the food wasn't nice at all, the meat tasted funny. will not go there again as it wasn't exactly cheap either.
