Best fish & chips / Chinese around. Best service also.

Haddock (£8) not available. Cod (£5 for regular) was available. Chips very available. Surprisingly nice and very little skin on the fish. Some unpleasant folk sniggering about "eating from there", well that's there loss because I've had alot worse at greater cost. It wasn't over greasy. Lady at counter friendly as well. There are better fish and chips in England but I certainly wouldn't be sad if this was my local and will definitely be back when next in the area.

First time going here. Service was really good. It was super busy but the person running it was friendly and kind to everyone she was taking orders from.

Lovely Chinese lady serving, however the food was not good. Chow mein very greasy, chips not cooked properly and an odd taste (maybe oil needs changing). Very disappointing!

Nobody else was waiting so got our order in double quick time

Tried to serve me old chips that were rank, offered to cook me some fresh and when I hesitated was told to go to another chippy, how rude, never going there again.

Ordered a take away chinese. Thought we would splash out for a special occasion and ordered half a duck with pancakes. £16.50. Not cheap but when we got home we had been given two small duck legs. Phoned up to query this as half a duck is one breast and a leg and was told that two legs is half a duck! We thought the lady might have said sorry and sent us out the rest to be delivered, but no. She refused to do anything about it and kept saying next time I'll give you two breast instead. Next time?? Why not correct your mistake now, when I've ordered from you. We spent £75 on that order and to get the item we paid for tonight she wants us to buy again next time. Really bad customer service. Won't be going here again.

The lady is nice and friendly, sorry the worst chinese ever eaten. The king prawns were all thrown in the bin and it doesn't even taste like prawns. We couldn't even eat the food at all. I have been put off chinese for a while. Never again.

I can honestly say when I order a Chinese from here it’s great. I ordered 2 medium cod and chips £7.80 each and a portion of chicken balls. Waited an hour but it’s Saturday so expected delay gave £3 tip as I always do. Everything was piping hot however the cod was as big as my middle finger. I phoned to complain and was told it is what it is u either get body or tail I ended up with two tails. Will never order fish and chips from there again. Birdseye cod was bigger and more fish meat. Lady on the phone is nice but when I called back to check they had t gave me white bait instead of cod she was dismissive . Overall I won’t be ordering from here again despite friendly phone manner and food was hot!

Until you’ve had Winns in Leigh this will seem the best for shallow pallets. Cheap noodles and tight portion sizes along with chips that are more for fish and chip shops not to go along with a Chinese. Edible, over-priced and thankfully our local is Winns so won’t be ordering from here on our next visit. You folks need to try others to compare, not too hard to too this one! Remember, Winns in Leigh then thank me after!

All the dishes were delicious and good portions. First time we’ve tried this restaurant and will definitely be back. Family live in Shoebury but we live in Rochford. If only they would deliver there. Best takeaway in a long while. Definitely recommend!!

This is a great little Chinese and fish and chips takeaway. The Chinese portions are of good size and good quality, the chips are lovely and fish just the right size. They also do all the normal chip shop foods and sundries.

Best choice for fish and chips or Chinese food. Professional service for take away and delivery. Fairly priced. Extensive menu. Something for all the family. We've been going over thirty five years to Sun Lee and can't better it.

I like to think that over my life I have had a lot of Chinese experiences in my life (I'm nearly 50), in all this time I have to say, without doubt, this has to be, by far, the worst food experience in my life. Hands down. I've never tasted chicken that tasted so bad and unlike chicken. The crispy beef was the furthest from either crispy or beef, ever. Anyone who rates this higher clearly hasn't ever eaten anything different to judge than Sun Lee. Sorry but if I had the option it would be -3 stars.

I went to the shop and ordered chicken chow mein and chicken curry it was lovely! The owner is super friendly and welcoming. I will definitely recommend this place for a tasty Chinese take away and fish and chips :)

Tasty, quick and great value. You get a bit more veg in your dishes than most, which I personally prefer as it adds to the variety. Just remember to bring cash to avoid embarrassment, as its all they take.

started using sun lee at start of lock down as all others were closed near me,and due to dietary requirements can only use Aspall selection of takeaways. I had no issue with intolerances which is always a very good plus and as they knew I was coming from a distance they left cooking meal till last minute so it was still very hot when I collected. Never had a issue with the food lovely.

This used to be our local and was some of the best fish and chips around. We visited for old times sake this week and it has gone down hill and git VERY expensive. Portions quite small as well. Regrettably doubt we will go back.

In my opinion the food is excellent and the portion sizes are great, friendly staff and reasonable delivery.

I’ve lived here for 16 months with 3 children... so have used the shop many times (maybe to many) For me the Chips are always crunchy, sometimes very overly cooked and warm... I think they concentrate On the Chinese part of the business more.

Food and service was awful - so disappointing

Good fish and chips, good quality well battered fish, generous helping of good chips. All for a good price. Overall, what you'd want from a chippy.Unfortunately you'll want to avoid their Chinese food at all costs. It's terrible, everything was absolutely swimming in oil, and would have tasted pretty rank if it wasn't. There are far better Chinese takeaways down Ness Road or in town.
