We would have liked to have sat at a bigger table .. we asked for a bigger table on arrival at 5pm only to he told they are fully booked...just as we finished our meal a family of 4 came in .. just a bit disappointed that they couldn't have moved us. Food was lovely as always and staff friendly and kind.

Delicious Vegan Chinese August 2024 My son in law just treated me and my wife to a Chinese takeaway from Mr Pings, we were a little unsure as it's generally hard to find good vegan alternatives. I was initially impressed with the amount of dishes they have listed on their menu! We asked for one dish not on their vegan list, and they advised that they couldn't 100% say that it was vegan (respect the honesty). We had vegan chicken balls with sweat & sour sauce, vegan chilli beef, rice, and rice noodles (made for us as they advised their normal noodles are made with egg) with veg. All in all, the food was amazing, very tasty, and we really appreciate their transparency. We will be back and are so happy that we've finally found a Chinese that does really good Vegan food, thank you Mr Pings! ✌️🌱💚🙏

Absolutely disgusting - nothing fresh , rice was slimey. 1 star is to much for this vile restaurant. Seaweed refried I would say days old - Avoid at all costs. !!!! Ordered and arrived in 11 mins!!!!

We hadn't been to Mr Pings in over 25 years! It had been a family favourite but we moved slightly out of the area and stopped visiting. I'm so glad we returned. The food is as excellent as we remembered, all the favourites plus some new dishes we were keen to try, such as chicken dumplings. Delicious. We had the £25 a head menu, as much as you can eat. Small dishes, but obviously you can reorder and reorder, all the food is hot and fresh. Drinks and desserts can soon add up, 4 of us, I had 2 half shandys, the bill was £200. Nice people run this restaurant and work there. The place is spotlessly clean. We had a lovely evening and came home happy and very full!

We had this as a takeaway; The vegan prawn is really good, actually in the shape of prawn,with the pattern,as was the vegam chicken,in fact they have quite the range of vegan options, the sauce with them was good too. Affordable,too. Staff were friendly and accommodating

Delivery driver was late, didn't call us, nothing, when I called they said they delivered to the wrong address, said they wouldn't refund but sent food out again, there's only one travelodge in the area! Driver made excuses it wasn't him, bs, food was bland, not worth the near two hour wait.

The shredded beef was dry and mainly batter - I detected no meat at all, and the chilli and salt were undetectable. The egg fried rice was plain, old, clumpy boiled rice with bits of egg in it. Both were tasteless, cold, dry and I couldn’t eat it.

The best sweet and sour chicken balls very nice

Spent a lot of money and no free items as advertised. Everything was cold. Chicken chow mien bland and greasy. Curry sauce lumpy and bland. Katsu taste like frozen and defrosted / was thick lumpy no flavour, barely any sauce too. Dreadful.

I have used Mr Pings before and eaten on their restaurant on numerous occasions, however, if this was my first time using them probably wouldn't return. Some of the meal was lovely and warm. Other parts were bland and cold.

Food was ok, was only warm on arrival. A lot of money for average food. Or just maybe not my cup of tea?!

The food is fantastic, lots of choices for vegetarians and vegans and the delivery is super fast. Will be using Mr Ping from now on.

Had takeaway. food was good but the chill crispy beef was just half a portion. Looked like someone had eaten half the dish.

I was sent chicken not vegetarian tofu. I ate one piece I'm really upset

Not only was it late, but the app said it was delivered at 20:05 when it wasn’t. Then when i submitted a claim for help, the delivery time changed to 20:50. And didn’t turn up until 21:00, and was like warm/ some items were cold

It was a lovely restaurant, we had takeaway and the food was amazing as it was freshly cooked when we ordered as if we were dining in the restaurant , top marks would recommend , best Chinese in Southchurch area 10/10

Very rude women on the phone when we didn't receive our full order. How they keep trading, I will never know. Avoid this restaurant Always been a fan up till. Now.

I know we’re in a cost of living crisis but the cut backs from this place are crazy. We had hardly any meat in any of our dishes and 0 seasoning: flavourless . Really underwhelming. The spring rolls say meat but there wasn’t any in them.

First time ordering from you and believe me when I say it will be the last. Ended up with a horrific case of food poisoning. Your establishment needs to be shut down.

Great food. Super quick delivery from the restaurants own delivery person. Only issue was chips were missing from order.

We had a family birthday at Mr. Pings, it was a lovely evening, the staff were very friendly and helpful, will definitely be going back.

The blandest chinese ive ever eaten!

I order from here almost weekly and today the food just wasn’t what it normally is, most of the order went in the bin, it was dry, tasteless and just not up to the usual standard, sad that this is another restaurant potentially going down the pan

I attended the restaurant for a surprise 60th for 22 people,they allowed us to come in and decorate in the afternoon, which was great. The whole dining experience was fantastic , the food was amazing and the vegan and veggie choice for a couple of our party was lovely. We had such an amazing night and all the staff were so welcoming. Thankyou

Ribs was disgusting and noddles greasy prawns were rubber and very expensive 63 pounds

The most disgusting Chinese Iv ever had in my life, AVOID AT ALL COSTS! The meat tastes not like meat everything was either really greasy or tasted weird it looked like I poured a glass of oil on everything. Only thing that was edible was prawn crackers so basically paid £60 for a bag of crackers as everything wasn’t edible lucky me.

Will never order from here again - absolutely worst Chinese we’ve ever tasted. Chicken chow mien tasted only of salt. Chicken rice was bland no flavour, the chicken was also questionable? Chips cold soggy / undercooked. The prawn balls hard and over cooked. The spring rolls were “ok”. Prawn crackers all broken. Sweet & sour sauce had a strange taste. Curry sauce was “ok”. Very expensive order - big waste of money.

We order from this Chinese every week the food is always amazing however tonight my mum got chicken balls instead of prawn she did not tell me until I got in 2 hrs later she does not eat meat so she left them called restaurant told me the chief said he put prawn balls in I told them that's not the case it had p on bag but chicken inside they offered new but expected me to go pick up so my mum has just got curry sauce and noodles they have said I can have a credit for next time 😢not great

Order was very late, some kind of error. When it finally arrived, it wasn’t really tasty, salt and chilli chips were cold and plain. Kung-po chicken also very bland, won’t be bothering again.

Ordered the veggie/vegan options loads before and was really tasty, ordered the same dishes this evening and they’ve changed the meat alternatives, it was extremely bland and chewy and dry, I couldn’t even finish it. Very disappointed

Despite the long wait it was a Saturday night, the food was still hot & good quality. The food wasn’t greasy at all which it can be from some other places. Will order again!

Food was all really nice, hot on arrival, free prawn crackers over £30 a bit much though. Not ideal if ordering for yourself, but perfect for family orders

estimated deliver was 35 minutes and it arrived 2 hours after ordering. No tracking available and when I phoned they were not helpful, no apology and just kept saying will be there soon. Food arrived luke warm verging on cold. Not happy!

Items missing. Phoned restaurant. Told me to look again in the bag. Checked with chefs who said it was in the bag. It wasn’t. I insisted and they delivered 20 minutes later. Food wasn’t great. Will not be ordering again.

Awful. 9 quid for 7 teriyaki prawns. tasteless Noodles with anemic looking duck. Won't order from her ever again

Stir fried plain udon(just udon with bean sprouts and onion) was only filling up 3/4 or less of the take away container despite charging £7. Felt a bit cheated.

Mr Pings is my absolute favourite Chinese! I’ve introduced new people and they have left their previous Chinese and now use here as their regular! I always opt for the veggie / vegan versions and Pings absolutely smashed it for me, cannot get a better menu. Their stir fried broccoli and garlic is always spot on and I love feeling a slither of health when indulging in a Chinese haha! This is not a rubbish , bog standard Chinese. Their food has always been good quality.

Very quick delivery, clearly everything cooked to order this time. If I had to be really picky then beef chow mein was a little light on the beef aspect. Best in a long while from here. 9/10 today

I have ordered a delivery from here many times now, and the food is always very good.

Some of the food was ok but sizzling steak Was not nice very chewy 10% service charge for 4 people was ridiculous when we spent so much money and we was not aware of this charge before we sat down to eat. Staff were quite rude when we brought this up. I would never eat here again

Fast delivery and amazing food

Poor customer service. Very unhelpful. Paid for an order to return and collect. Had an issue and called to ask if they would deliver. House would the road behind the restaurant. Tuesday evening so not a busy night and staff refused. Very poor efforts. Food isn’t great but only one open

Best Chinese in Southend, and their Singapore rice noodles are lovely a spicy . Very fresh all of it . Wish they shredded the duck though

Delivery was quick, Food was nice but meat dishes were small portions. Bigger issue was I ordered a a chicken chow mein and had no chicken so was left with plain noodles.

Duck was all fat no meat put it straight in the bin.

Good food, do not rely on the restaurant saying its out for delivery as our food arrived before it even said being prepared.

We went for the all you can eat option which was £25 each BUT we were told if we left any food we would be charged £5 each so that limited what we ordered and I like Chinese food so much as I like the variety so this limited that and we felt limited in what we could order as we were so worried about waste! The food itself was very nice and we accompanied it with two glasses of Diet Coke each which was as flat as flat can be, rather warm and was clearly out of a large bottle but didn’t say anything about I wish I had as when we got the bill it was £75!!!!! OUT DRINKS WERE £4.50 EACH!!!! And then 20% service charge making them £4.95 each for a flat, out of a 1.5 litre bottle warm Diet Coke! Well I was so shocked I nearly fell of my chair!! It’s a shame as the food was nice but I felt mugged of by the drinks prices and it left a nasty taste in my mouth!

16 of us went for a night out, and it seemed like the whole town decided to do the same as the place was heaving. The staff were excellent and we were not kept waiting for anything. The food was fresh and well cooked and we were able to eat as much as we liked. Yes they have put the price up, but is that surprising given what everything costs these days. The place could do with an update, but so what I have eaten in much posher but poorer service and food. We had a great night.

Crispy duck was fatty nowhere near crispy, mixed starter had wet items all in one tub so sauces mixed

Was very disappointed with the hors d'oeuvres the so called satay chicken was in the same container as the ribs plus it had literally no satay sauce on it!! They where covered in rib sauce and swimming in oil. I certainly won't be ordering from Mr Ping again, which is a massive shame, as I'd heard great things about the establishment. 👎

Most of the order was lovely and have no problems. However very disappointed in the Singapore rice noodles, firstly they were not rice noodles, secondly the noodles seemed overcooked and soggy, thirdly very little taste only seemed to add chilli and neglected any other spices

cold food no communication from restaurant

After waiting two and a half hours we cancelled the order but they still took our money!! Happy Christmas to you too!! Never ever will I use this place again! Just eat were totally unhelpful too!

They refused and instead offered me 50% off the same dish when I next placed an order. I felt this was completely unacceptable as they left me without a replacement or a refund. I will not be using them again.

Ordered a takeaway tonight for 3 adults, 3 of the dishes were chicken based. There was barely enough meat n the dishes to feed 1 adult, it was all veg and sauce very disappointing won’t go back that’s for sure

Was the worst Chinese I have had. Dry rice that was like had been left out all night. With basically no egg in it. The chicken was half stale tasting like had also been left out. Chow mein was best part shame only about 4 prawns

My son and his girlfriend went there had two tiny dishes each two dishes which weren’t very nice £70 as they got charged £5 for not eating it all even though it wasn’t nice !!!

Food was cold - not even warm - cold! The chicken balls although tasted ok they looked anemic! The Hong Kong chicken was like bullets - totally inedible. The sweet and sour sauce portion wasn’t even enough for 1 person. Chips were like scraps- hardly any full chips. The crispy chilli beef was rubbery and sweet tasting. Such a shame as have previously ordered from here and was nice - tonight’s meal was beyond awful

When a £30 plus order is ready is 7mins - you should really start the alarm bells. Ordered a collection, guy said it would be 30-40mins. 7mins go by and I get a call from a stroppy girl saying that my order has been sitting there waiting for collection, where are you!! I explained that we were expecting it to take longer but we’re on our way. Bring the order home, there is no satay sauce on the satay chicken, the chips were raw and anaemic. The chicken balls had gone soggy because they had sweated in the bag. And the mini crispy pancakes still had wet batter. Called to complain, and she said to take it back and have it all cooked a bit longer, I of course said absolutely not. I want it fresh or a refund. She said she could refund after I said I wanted to raise with a manager. My son takes a bite into his satay chicken, and it’s raw, pink with specks of blood. Put the whole thing in bag in the bag and sent it all back, not a single sorry or anything. Just wanted to take my son through the restaurant to show him how the other skewers were cooked fine - make themselves look better in the restaurant full of customers. So glad my son is intelligent enough to explain it wasn’t just the satay chicken that wasn’t cooked - the whole order was rushed, it’s disgusting and completely dangerous. They want to hope none of us get food poisoning from the small amount we did try. This isn’t the first time either, we stopped going here over a year ago due to a similar situation - shame that we instantly remembered why as soon as we collected the order. Never ever will I use this dump again!!!!

20 minutes early and driver rang up lost a street away. Surprisingly all cooked fresh however in rushing to get it here so early the batter was undercooked on the chicken balls. The Singapore noodles were great (so very spicy) and if being extra picky could have had some more meat. The vegan lemon chicken was loved by the non meat eater. Little bit spenny (but what isnt these days?) but overall 8/10 this time
