Having used this take away for years, the food has always been good, they haven’t gone done a modern route, and hence they don’t take card payments and the premises looks shabby, but the food is good. Since covid and the introduction of home delivery, their times for food are ridiculous for those not wanting home delivery as they seem to prioritise those customers over telephone collection and walk in orders, expect at least a foulrty-five minute wait for any food

We ordered takeaway from here on a recent trip to Cornwall. The food was very tasty and well priced. We would eat here again.

we use this chinese all the time. receptionist is very efficient. The food is of a very high standard with plenty of veg too. Tried them all in Bodmin and this is the best.

After storm Eunice our end of town was left without power for potentially the next 24hrs. After seeing that wongs had power and were open it didn't take much convincing to order in a takeaway! Four of us ordered. 2 King prawn curry's with rice and 2 lots of sweet and sour balls with chips plus prawn crackers and extra sauces. The huge generous portions were lovely considering we had no heating. Food was lovely as always. I ordered at opening to be told it would be within the hour. It arrived 20 minutes later. In my experience it has never taken more than half an hour unless you order later in the evening. Best Chinese in Bodmin and a lovely end to a stressful day

spoke to the child on reception and mentioned we couldnt eat our meal as it was cold and full of salt. she didnt seem at all interested and told us to go lucky house, we would have but they were shut so had no choice to go wongs. it was disgusting customer service and vile food

Had 2 lot of sweet and sour mixed balls, noodles and chips all was cold. Delivery driver asked me if I wanted my change which I think is wrong even to ask

Curry ok, chow mien dry no bean sprouts just noddles a bit of meat that’s it. Pancake roll ok, chicken balls what you would expect. All in all a bit tasteless, better takeaways close by.

Always great food from Wongs. Out of the three Chinese takeaways in Bodmin it’s my first choice. The salt and pepper chips are brilliant and their black bean sauce is really great. Food was delivered and was piping hot.

We have had food from Wongs before, but this time we were strongly reminded why it would be third choice out of three in Bodmin. We had Young Chow Chow Mein, Wonton Soup and Mini Veg Spring Rolls delivered on Boxing Day. The Chow Mein was basically just a box of noodles. There was 1 prawn, and the tiniest handful of tiny bits of meat, but compared to what you usually get for this dish just rubbish. The spring rolls were chewy and had almost no filling - just deep fried wrappers really. The wontons were OK but the soup was SO peppery it was almost inedible (admittedly that’s down to personal taste). Unless you’re absolutely desperate, don’t bother, the only positive was that it was quite cheap.

Enjoyed our meals but labelling the boxes would be helpful as we had to try the dishes to work t what was what. Also please clean your windowsill not sure what was on it but it was unappetising!

Wong’s was recommended to us by a neighbour soon after we moved into Bodmin and we are glad to say that every time we’ve ordered from here we’ve had great service from all the staff and the food has always been delivered promptly, is hot and has tasted very good. There has been the odd mistake - such as incorrect dishes - but when we phoned and let them know they have always offered to replace the dish or credit our address with a replacement for next time. We’re moving house, out of the area now and hope very much that we’ll find another Chinese takeaway as good as Wong’s!

Your delivery driver in a silver bmw has a serious attitude problem. Complete engima. Will not be using

I had heard that Wongs was a very reputable Chinese takeaway in the heart of Bodmin Town centre. So I proceeded to place a telephone order and struggled to communicate with the woman due to a child in the background screaming and crying, for a moment I thought they were trying to cook the poor soul. Overcoming this issue I excitedly waited for my delicious food, or so I thought. The food I received was first of all wrong, ordering the almighty 'Wongs special noodles' to receive a portion of mixed vegetables without a noodle in sight; I would of thought the giveaway was in the name of the dish, apparently not. Another of my dishes, in fairness, looked appetising and also smelt edible, oh no my friends. Believe you me, you would rather eat the plastic container the dish came in rather than the contents. For these reasons alone I don't recommend Wongs to anyone and will not do so in the future years.

Just had boiled rice with our dish but unfortunately it was so stodgy clearly boiled up earlier and left, rice should be the one thing they get right.

Arrived and the woman serving me was lovely. I was previously concerned after reading reviews but they got my order spot on and charged me correctly. The food was ready very promptly despite the fact that I didn’t phone ahead of time. Pretty nice food, sweet and sour chicken wasn’t the best but the rice, chips, crackers and my families meals were all lovely. Would recommend to tourists in the area as it looks like the best Chinese around.

So I have been using wongs for over thirty Twenty five years now and we love their food So tonight I called and was asked to hold which I did and then all I could hear was the young lady on the phone talking about her self about herself and generally gossiping So I hung up and called back Where the said young lady obviously recognised my number and was full of excuses of which I was not interested in I just wanted to order my dinner I thought I did order my dinner which was collected by my partner He returned home and the order was incorrect I called Wong’s and spoke to the same lady and explained that I had looked past her gossiping on the telephone but I was not prepared to over look the wrong order To which she then went onto argue that I had indeed ordered what I received and that she was not gossiping Blady blady blaaa frankly I couldn’t get a word in and According to her I ordered something I don’t like so that’s highly unlikely but still she argued So I resorted to saying that I would not come back so the very helpful lady on the telephone then went on to tell me repeatedly in a very theatrical and dismissive way that she could not hear me and the line was bad No my love you are rude unconcienoous and unwilling to take responsibility for having no customer service skills I will not come back to wongs I’m afraid

Been meaning to put a review on for a while now. Had another amazing meal delivered tonight. By far the best chineese in Bodmin if not the whole of Cornwall. They are always consistent no matter what night you order.Chillis beef is out of this world

We ordered 2 portions of chicken balls, a 2-in-1 chef special and a kids chicken ball and chips meal, one of the portions of chicken balls was for me. The delivery was fast and were very tasty and generously portioned. However I got a really painful belly ache within 10 minutes of finishing my meal.

Although the phone never stops ringing, the staff are always friendly and there is never a long wait for food. It’s always piping hot and so tasty.

Had our 1st take away from here on Friday, young lady on the phone was very friendly and helpful. Our food was waiting again the lady was lovely, the food was amazing, good and hot and plenty of it. Will be going there agin for sure.

We have been back to Cornwall on another 2 week holiday, and decided to return here. Yet again, great good enjoyed by all. The young woman on the counter was lovely and friendly, it beat the other Chinese that we had hands down. Will definately return and make the half hour drive to get here!

we were camping for a week nearby when we stumbled across wongs we visited four nights out of seven as the food was rearly good puts the Chinese restaurants in our home town to shame every meal was spot on.

Ordered a take away from Wong’s this evening as have just had a menu put through the door. We had to wait an hour which was what we were told so that wasn’t an issue but when the food arrived it was nasty. There was a portion of chips which looked like they’d been cooked for ages and were dry. Onion rings just plain horrible and bordering on burnt. Prawn roast was limp and tasted horrid. The main dish of crispy chilli chicken was dry and again nasty. The only good elements were the mixed meat balls and egg fried rice. Needless to say we will not be using them again and will go back to our usual Peaking Palace.

Visited Wong’s last night. Food not freshly cooked (microwaved) Pancake rolls bought in not made in-house. Worst I’ve had the misfortune to purchase. If I could rate it a zero I would have done.

As a busy nurse, this is my favourite Chinese takeaway, food always hot and tasty when I don't have time or energy to cook . Well done wrongs, I have been a customer here since 1980!!

I’ve been a regular customer here for years. The food has always been good and reliable. Over the last year there are new owners. The menu has been expanded and some meal deals added. The chicken balls are to die for.

The title says it all. Great menu and very cheap and fast service. Was Xmas and the phone was ringing off the hook however still we received our large order for a family of 6 in less than 15 mins. Excellent tasty takeaway.

All the comparison's between who is the best in town are always on personal choice. Like all the chinese takeaways they have inconsistencies. Some times the meals taste better than others.If your after speed and a quick meal dont bother waiting time is always a problem if your hungry..but if you have time to spare you will be fine .choice is very good and prices are the same to the others in town. Staff friendly..the added bonus after years and years, they have now started doing deliveries which is a must for most places now.If they did this years ago they would of kept and gained more customers as the others have taken custom because of this. All in all good food .slow service.

Pardon the pun! We have had takeaways from here a few times and the food has been perfect every time! The satay chicken and chow mein is so yummy!!

Although this takeaway doesn't look much from the outside, or even the inside, the food is absolutely lovely.

However the food was so salty I could not eat any of this takeaway and threw the entire meal away, it was absoloutly dreadful

there are 4 chinese takeaways in bodmin but no one will ever beat this takeaway.. there food is really nice..especially the fried rice. highly recommend this chinese

Love this place, lovely staff and great choices, always get their veggie spring rolls as these are amazing and huge, nothing like the tiny little ones most Chinese restaurants sell. They do such a wide menu there's bound to be something to suit evert taste.

Recently had takeaway from this place and tbh it was probably the most disgusting Chinese I've ever tasted, I read good reviews as well don't know if it's new people or what but food was awful

I've been using Wongs for many years and never been disappointed, sometimes it takes longer for your order to be ready, ( it is cooked on site unlike many of its competitors) and the presentation is not the best I've seen but the food always tastes great and is great value for money.

Visited this place on a recent holiday in Bodmin, girl at the desk was obviously new but very pleasant and we waited patiently as she worked it all out, the food was of good quality, the take away itself was a little plain and they didn't do special fried rice but all in all a generally tasty meal

Ordered a take away on a Monday evening as my usual choice of Chinese take outs in Bodmin closes on a Monday. I have rated it based on flavour, as I found some of the food very bland. We had a wide selection of dishes, so are able to compare with others in the area. I have to say it was O.K , nothing special. Much prefer Lucky House, food way superior to Wongs and they deliver to your door for £1.50 !

Really love Wongs Pancake rolls they are delicious. They have an extensive menu and even though you may have to wait a while for the food to be cooked, it's well worth the wait. Lovely friendly staff and great Chinese take away
