Best Chinese that I have had really decent to customers and very polite and really filling food good prices all round happy

Really nice szechuan chicken and Salt and chilli chips, plenty of chips to feed me or maybe a couple if you were sharing, I'm a pig 🤣

I personally enjoyed my mushroom balls in sweet and sour sauce. The seaweed was amazing! My husband enjoyed his mushroom curry and my oldest son enjoyed his meal. I haven't given a 5 star because I ordered a Mushroom Chow Mein and a Vegetable Chow Mein, when my family opened the tubs (neither had been labelled) they were exactly the same. They were very sweet and ended up being thrown away.

Wonderful food. We had the vegetarian dishes and they were great no complaints. Delicious and a surprising variety of vegetables.

Our favourite Chinese delivery food, have been ordering from here for a number of years and never disappointed. Delivery drivers always pleasant and friendly. Definitely the best around Penryn/falmouth. We usually order the day meal for two for £25. Ansome!

Everything was cold and soggy as if it had been cooked and left waiting for ages, despite being there to collect it earlier than stated. Tub of curry sauce was less than half filled and everything was extremely bland.

Bought a variety of dishes for family who were visiting, hot food was okay but the chips (at £3.50 a bag) were disgusting, appeared to be made from small potatoes (so loads of triangular ends) and overcooked which made the 'ends' dry and crisp, not worth the money at all

Fast service and piping hot food, although food itself felt like it had just been reheated in the microwave. Chow mein was soupy and not authentic.

I have ordered from this takeaway many times, the meals have been OK. This time however I ended up adding soy sauce to my meal for some flavour, the friend rice didn't look as if it had ever been near a wok. Every dish was pale n bland in colour n flavour, it was also half an hour late and luke warm (except the chips, they were cold) I know everyone likes different things when it comes to a Chinese but this was not good, very disappointed.

We live in Spain and stayed nr by for our hols.Compared to what we would get back home,the portion sizes were huge and everything tasted good.We only had to wait 20 mins and the food was piping hot.

Tried this Chinese as it was within walking distance and couldn’t say a bad word about it. The service was good and the food was served a lot nicer than other places we’ve been too. We all really enjoyed it and will be calling back regularly. 10 out of 10.

We waited a lot longer than we'd been promised (almost 2 hours!) and when the food finally arrived, the delivery driver was rude and unpleasant in ways that were almost comedic. A generally very unpleasant and distasteful man. I'm so glad I didn't tip him.

We were starving and ordered ribs, special fried rice and duck with mushrooms. Was made quickly and was very good food. Would recommend. Good value for money.

I do not understand the bad reviews, that is not my experience. I have a delivery about once a week. It is always hot, appetising and well cooked. The quantity is good and the delivery guys are always cheerful and arrive on time. I would not re-order if the reality met some of the below reviews, which it does not.

Terrible. Absolutely terrible. Never reviewed while actually at a venue before but this place is terrible. So slow. Order for 8 and still sat waiting at 850. Gave up, got money back and left. Shame I have to give it 1star

Always went here for all 3 years of uni and they have always been SO welcoming, sweet and food is really good, i've tried the other chinese takeaways from falmouth, but fave's always been Choy Hung. 10/10

Food was adequate, takeaway took 2hours for delivery . No apology given . Would not advise to use for takeaway . Probably would of been quicker to collect it ourselves .

We now have a Chinese takeaway more often service and food is very good and delivery service highly recommended, don’t forget to tip your delivery person.

Fast and efficient service! Ordered over the phone and collected easily 10 mins later! Cash only though from what I could see so be aware of that. But other than that a good local takeaway!

Wasn't very nice! Hardly any flavour in the curries, some pork was squishy and fatty. Chips came Cold and soggy!! Chicken balls was all soggy! Small pot of sauce. Absolutely disappointed with it all. Putting it all in the bin and going else where

Sauce was all over the food when order was received, all mixed around, ruining it all. Called to get a refund and they hung up on me saying I was incorrect and everything was fine. Had to get a train over (since I don't drive) just to return it and get my money back, since they only take cash on delivery. Terrible customer service and terrible delivery.

Friendly prompt service. Nice tasty food. Good value for money. Ordered online for delivery to Mylor Bridge. Received phone call to confirm and agree delivery time (often earlier than website order says if you like). Really friendly and helpful on phone, nice friendly delivery person. Does not expect a tip but appreciates one if offered. Third delivery in several months will be ordering again. Also made food spicer upon request.

Crispy beef was absolutely Chernobyled. Burnt toast nuggets evaporated into dust like a Thanos snap. Dared my housemates to eat it before casting it into the bin. +1 star for effort. The 200% GDA sugar sauce almost tricked me.

Portions were large. Food was not bad. We ordered the beef udon and roasted duck rice and both were good. Unsure why some reviews said that the service wasn't great, but the Malaysian (I'm assuming boss) lady was very nice!! Will be coming back often!

Never had a bad meal from here. Our favourite Chinese. Delivered hot and usually on time. They even ring to ask if we want it earlier sometimes. Love the Singapore chow mein.

Me and my flat mates had a great takeaway from Choy hung at a good price. Would definitely recommend! I had the teriyaki udon noodles and they were delicious.

We ordered takeaway for the Residential Home. Rang and pre-booked for delivery. Fantastic service over the telephone and delivery arrived as planned. Food was delicious, all Residents really happy. Will definitely use this service again.

Good quality food and reasonable prices. The service was fast and friendly. Honey and mustard chicken and soft noodles were delicious, Cantonese rice and mixed meat fried rice were just ok.

Ordered online and got a set meal for 3 to share between 4 of us ,there was so much that we ended up freezing some for another time ,I saw a few negative comments about the pancake rolls ,no idea why as they were absolutely huge and chock full of tasty filling ,also the special fried rice was a highlight and the chicken in batter balls ,all superb .Nice friendly front of house lady and food ready when I arrived to collect 5 minutes early .I recommend this take away

We ordered a delivery for our 22nd wedding anniversary. We ordered online at 7.30 and the system said our order would be delivered at 9 pm. At 9.20 we rang up to find out where our food was and were told that they were running 30 minutes late on orders. At 9.40 we were called to say that our food was on the way but we had to pay £1 extra as the online system was set up wrong. I queried why we weren't being refunded the delivery charge anyway as the food was so late and the girl said she was just passing on a message from the manager. I asked to speak to the manager and she called me back at 9.45 (still no food). I don't quite know how the woman I spoke to was able to get a job as a manager anywhere as at one point she informed me that if I didn't pay the extra £1 our order wouldn't be delivered. Every time I pointed out that I'd paid what the system asked me she told me it was set up wrong and there was nothing she could do about it. I have never experienced such appalling customer service. To top it all off when the order did arrive, over an hour late, they'd forgotten the prawn crackers. When i called them up they said they'd knock it off next time. Next time! I would rather eat cold beans on toast than ever order anything from these people again. The food was mediocre - the chef was heavy handed with the cornflour. Avoid this place unless you want a Fawlty Towers type experience.

Rude staff on the phone offered a 5% discount of my 50£ order because they messaged 80% of it up by the time they brought the rest up the curry was thick and clumpy and food was cold. Been a weekly customer expect a bit of loyalty especially when they said “we’ve had over 400 orders tonight” yeah maybe pay some of your profit of to the people you messed around, well I tell you now £50 is noting and you will be missing out on a lot, lot more if they weren’t so rude and arrogant I wouldn’t be so bothered but 5% discount on a 50 order that’s completely wrong that’s just a disgrace . 👎 would not recommend ANYMORE!

Placed our order at 7:00pm. Booked an 8:00pm delivery slot. At 9:00pm we called, and were told to wait 30 more minutes. At 10:00pm we called again, and were told to wait 30 more minutes. So after 3.5 hours of waiting, we never got a chance to try the food. A shame.

After a busy day we had a Chicken Chow Mein and. King Prawn Chow Mein andxsone Garlic Fried Rice. The front of house lady was lovely and chatted whilst our takeaway was prepared. The meal was fresh with lots of vegetables chicken and king prawns and lovely noodles. Just what we needed and a great dinner.

The Choy Hung house in Penryn, in my opinion (and I am pretty fussy) is the best in the Penryn/Falmouth area. I always have the crab and corn soup - it is always delicious, full of flavour, then I move on to either Choy Hung special with noodle (number 16) which is always gorgeous or, as I had tonight, duck with orange sauce - another winning meal. I cannot fault the food, the staff are lovely and tonight instead of picking it up myself - they delivered and were 10 minutes before the estimated time. Will always make the trip from Falmouth or get it delivered and can only highly recommend

ordered a chinese by phone to be delivered told maybe 1 hour but most probally less for delivery food arrived 1hr 40 minutes (after phoning twice to find out how much longer} food was cold so had to warmed up beef curry was more like soup and wifes choice was dry as hell phoned up to complain they couldnt give a damn very poor food was crap wont be using them again and would advise people to give them a wide berth

Disgusting. Pancake roll was rank, covered in greasy batter not a pancake roll as you know it. Sweet&sour sauce was horrible. Will not go here again.

The food is well cooked and very tasty. Mind you we usually have everything with King Prawns as they are our favourite!!! Always plenty of Prawns too!

This kind of cooking gives Chinese food a bad name. The sauce was tasteless and congealed. The vegetables were indistinguishable.

THis used to be one of thenicest takeaways in the area. My last meal was brown boring and choc fullof MSG. Never again !

After visiting our Dads / father in laws / Grandads / Great Grandads Grave on the 19 December 2018 for his 80th birthday , we all decided to have a Chinese takeaway, as this was one of his favourites . After finding a menu at mums we all took turns in writing out what we wanted to order , and placed our order with you over the phone .

Tasty food, decent portion sizes and didn't have to wait long. Only annoying thing is the menu on the Facebook page is really hard to read, so hopefully these pictures are helpful to someone.

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE Rude customer service especially from the manager. Food is bland(I could cook better myself). The takeaway menu is poorly displayed. Even as a waitress I know not to hang up on a customer.

The chow mein part of the menu says 'dish with mixed vegetables and soft noodles' under this section the dishes clearly state if they have meat in them, for example the Yung chow mein which has 'mixed meats and shrimps' so when we decided to order a vegan meal we asked for the Cantonese vermicelli which only states that it has 'rice noodles' and we asked for it without egg. When we arrived home with the food the dish had mixed meat and shrimp in it which was not stated on the menu. We called to complain about the issue and the manager was very rude and hung up on us multiple times. I think it is unfair that they didn't state that the dish had meat in it, there is a vegetable vermicelli which is 'hot' so we assumed these were different dishes.

The manager was extremely rude. The menu is very vague and doesn’t correctly explain the dishes. When we phoned them after realising there was meat in one of them that doesn’t state that on the menu, she hung up on us twice and refused a refund. Last week we asked for vegan noodles and they also gave it with meat and egg. She was unprofessional and was getting angry and argumentative.

Went down hill a lot , but had a Chinese recently and must say it’s improved a good deal , good size portions .

Good chinese best in a while and service was good

We visited while on the way home from a day out in Cornwall. The food was prompt, the lady who took the order was very polite and courteous. It wasn't anything special but we did enjoy the food. Very nice.

What I love about this chinese is the quality every time, been using them the whole of my life and I have moved around a bit but I always come home and choy hung house is always as I remember, friendly lovely people. Highly recomended

Best Chinese! Delivery is swift and fast and the king prawn chow mein is the best I have had around here!! A well established business in the town for nigh on 40 years and they have stayed true to themselves! We miss Peter but the place lives on!

Food was stunning, service was incredibly friendly. Definitely a not so hidden gem. Tried other Chinese local to the area and it just can’t compare with this one. Yum yum.

Honestly just useless. Got the order wrong, were rude on the phone and then refused to fix their mistake... after completely ruining an evening they offered us a “small” bottle of coke as a sorry... spare yourselves and literally order anywhere else.

Got accused of not paying at a busy time and the lady at the counter forgot she served me so waited 45 minutes for some prawn balls and also got accused of not paying the bill. Not very a nice experience

this small takeaway has improved their recipe and taste delicious. Would recommend to anyone. Great customer service and prices are good.

Good food served here along with friendly service and welcoming atmosphere,,, service of good delivered is always rather quick here,,, also there is a good variety of options to choose from on menu and it's all at a reasonable price, overall it's a good priced option for a quick bite to eat or meal with the family! We enjoyed our experience and food here.

Had a take away,not sure if the proprietor is Chinese,as the rice was stodgy, no egg in egg fried rice,and rest of food tasted like it came out of a jar,was warned against it by students.They were right.

As it is New years eve we thought, lets have a Chinese. I had house Special Chow Maen. With Noodles and my wife had Chicken and Pineapple with noodles. Both meals were tasteless. Both sauces were like coloured water. I have used this takeaway before but some time back. Not sure that there are any Chinese working there now. Otherwise they had run out of seasoning. Will not be back

We’ve been using Choy Hung for a little while now and the food has always tasted very average which actually isn’t bad. We’ve never had a bad meal but neither a great one either. What can be said is that the food is always hot, even once we arrive home if we’re returning to St Ives. We have never had any dishes missing as we’ve experienced elsewhere, they’ve always been very efficient & the staff are very nice.

Wrong order given. Poor taste. Dry old chicken.

Basic Chinese takeaway. Reasonably priced, quick service. Often not open (closed during the day most days and all day Tuesday and Sunday) lots of grease and salt in the food but vegetarian was available.

If like us you have not had a meal from Choy Hung House for a while because the food was not that good, please try again we had a take away "delivered" meal from here on Wednesday and it was great, hot tasty and prompt, the old reviews are not relevant now

I have had take aways from here since I was 17 am now in my late 40's .I always have a superb takeaway from here. Staff are polite , friendly and welcoming would highly recommend to all.

I gave this one star . My first meal was disgusting, under cooked batter , the duck was all fat and skin the house special rice was slop . I complained and they did have the courtesy to offer my next order half price . The duck was still fat and skin , the special curry was inedible. Their chips were ok. Just don't eat there !
