Great food but horrified that the establishment has been awarded a zero hygiene score thats not even displayed on shop window ! Will not return till a five star certificate is displayed as customers should know . Food is lovely 👍

This has to be the worst Chinese meal I’ve ever had! Bland , greasy and awful. I ordered King prawns in sweet and sour sauce. This was battered prawns ( not king prawns ) and a tub of sauce no pineapple or peppers. The fried rice was solid and unseasoned and the noodles had no taste at all.

Decent meal but ignore the prices They are old MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE NOW.

The best we've ever had! Fantastic food the ingredients were all fresh and cooked to perfection, i wish all Chinese take aways could cook food as nice as this. Next time we're in this area we will defiantly use again.

My favourite Chinese, only take away. I recommend the duck chow mein, absolutely delicious.

Local,and very disappointed in this place tbh. Been a regular for 30 years,don't appreciate frozen chicken being used. Come on Dave sort it out,our last meal was cold ,the noodles were full of grease and no flavour,curry sauce was awful and cold,rice was stodgy with no flavour and ribs were inedible so over fried you could break a tooth.Used to be so nice such a shame . Ps,don't let your son cook

I ordered a Chinese takeaway from this local place, just been to pick it up and as I was driving home, I heard the bags rustling and moving!! I thought what on Earth is that. Has something got in the bag? I thought I could see a little pair of eyes peering out at me. I was driving so I leaned forward, picked up the bag, put it on the passenger seat and there it was again, more rustling and little eyes looking out from behind the prawn crackers. I thought it’s got to be a rat or a mouse or something, so I carefully pulled the bag down ... And there it was ... ... A Peking Duck!

Since reopening it looks like nothing has changed? Still dirty, stinks of old grease, food no better. Only cash taken which surely isn’t allowed? Won’t be ordering from here again, gave it another try as was expecting a complete refurb & improvement but if the front area is anything to go by I would hate to think what the kitchen is like!

Since having to close due to poor hygiene I was very sceptical to place an order but I must say food taste amazing very hot and very tasty and the shop is very clean.

22/11/23 don't answer their phone. Went to The Fountain for a lovely fish and chip instead

Cannot believe this takeaway is still allowed to trade. Interior was so filthy it was unbelievable!!!! Thick grease and dirt on every surface. Food rubbish and staff very unwelcoming and aloof. Altogether quite shocking, avoid if you've any sense, disgusting place.

Expensive and very bland. Got the salt and pepper chicken and honestly the peppers were boiled, there was no spice to it. I've made tastier s & p myself at home following a ticktok receipe. The curry sauce had no flavour, chips were dry, even the prawn crackers were tastless, not sure how they managed it to be honest. It wouldn't have been worth it at half the price.

We found the food here very poor and unlike any Chinese we’ve ever had anywhere! Other than the five, which was just ok, we had chicken and pineapple that looked insipid and tasted of nothing. Did they soak the pineapple in water to remove all taste and texture? Soggy, chewy chicken balls and nasty noodles. Sorry to say, cannot recommend. There are far nicer places to eat in Mevagissey,

I've been going to Mevagissey for years , this was first time I used this take away ...I placed a order not knowing they only took cash , went to find a cash machine, when returned with cash they'd had order waiting excellent

Had beef chow mein and honestly couldn't fault it. After reading the reviews I was a little hesitant but I shouldn't have been. They made my chow mein exactly how I wanted it. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

I always have their chicken fried rice and curry sauce. It’s the best, as good as I could get up north!

Basic chinese takeaway not the best but certainly not the worst

Inedible! We had chicken chow mein this evening. The chicken/veg was boiled and covered in a clear slime. No sauce. Noodles were bone dry. Would avoid. Also very pricey £6.60 for this?! I doubt even the seagulls would go for it.

Simply couldn’t fault our meal from this takeaway. It was really easy to place the order over the phone. It was ready to collect at the time of my choosing. Everything was freshly cooked, nice and hot and made with quality ingredients.

Have been using this place for years now on our visits to Meva . Never had a bad meal yet and tonight (23/05/2021)was no different . Pancake roll was excellent ,Chicken curry -egg fried rice was probably one of the best I have had for a long-time from any takeaway ,missus had a Chicken Chow Mein , enough to feed two people , plenty left for midnights. Shame they are closing for a few days as it would be the last supper in Meva on Friday before trip home .Cant recommend this place enough . Back in September ,please be open .Just to clarify , This survey /review site seems to think this is a restaurant ,it is not Its a takeaway ,so some answers maybe missing . Thanks .

Really impressed with takeaway from little china. Quickly prepared and all 4 dishes we ordered were great. Food was piping hot and we all enjoyed the food . Would recommend .

Had a takeaway from here while on holiday. Wished I had read the reviews before eating here as I can only agree with the other bad reviews. The food was terrible, bland and not worth the money.

Staying in Mevagissey for a week. Searched on Tripadvisor for some ideas about where to eat. Saw some recent bad reviews on this takeaway and thought to get food from here anyway.I tend to order the same meals when eating food from chinese takeaways across the UK, so it is easy to compare like with like.So ordered the usual hot & sour soup, prawn toast, Singapore noodles, special fried rice, spare ribs and Szechuan chicken for 2.In my opinion, the food was above average, great flavour, big portions and reasonably priced. The Szechuan chicken was a little less spicy that I am used to but was very enjoyable nevertheless.If this takeaway was more local to me, I would have no hesitation to order food from here all the time.

Hubby had a chicken curry looked and tasted awful more like frozen strips. I had vegetable curry ,more sauce than vegetables and sauce tasted like packet sauce made with water. Never again!!

Easy to be put off by the slightly shabby exterior but really very good food. Surprisingly good. Delicious, tasty, wholesome, not exorbitant, good menu and not a long wait. Cash only (be warned) (Jan 2020).

I asked what ingredients were in a dish because I suffer from food allergies and was replied by a young lady meat and vegetables when I asked what vegetables the reply I got was I don’t know. Not very helpful so we walked out.

Serving all the normal take away offeringsWe ordered as we would have done locally at home in Bucks, We certainly over ordered, the portion sizes were bigger and the take away cartons full to the top.All take aways have there slight amends to standard dishes and we wern’t disappointed. As friendly as you would expect in this beautiful village and we would certainly use again on our next visit, NOTE Cash only, so with a cash point only 150 yards always not really a problem, but good to know if not a little odd in this day and age.

Really expensive considering we only order 5 items which in London would cost around £25 but here came to £52. It made it worse that it tastes so bland and not authentic at all. Really didnt enjoy it.

We decided to try Little China, as we've tried most other food outlets in Mevagissey. The staff were friendly, but the food took a while to come. They don't accept cards, which is a pity: I had to race round to the general store before it closed to get cash out.The shop premises could do with a lick of paint.....The food itself was freshly-cooked, plentiful, but a little bland, and not particularly good value.

We rang ahead and were told an hour wait for collection which seemed a long time but hey ho, we were on holiday. Arrived to collect and had to wait a further 15 minutes meanwhile people walked in off street, ordered and left with food! No apology just blank expression. Food was good but we were starving so hard to judge.

Amazing food ,love the food ,fries are amazing,sauce nice, sweet and sour chicken balls lush ,and egg fried rice .

From the menu we have ordered one of the "sets for two" plus additional dishes. Thirty five minutes later our food was ready and packed. Everything was just delicious. Also the price was excellent for quality and quantity of food. Big thanks. We will be back for sure

We were staying a few doors away, so this was a very convenient location! We enjoyed our takeaway meals so much, we used them a second time later in the week. Every mouthful of all meals was hot and tasty. I would strongly recommend ordering food from here!

Been to Meva three times now. First time I've used this restaurant and it will be the last time too. Meal terrible. Under cooked, very greasy and very bland. It left a taste in my mouth that took all night to get rid off.

Nice takeaway plenty of choice. Friendly staff. Also allowed us to wait with the dog inside. They are cash only, local newsagent offers atm with free cash withdrawals however.

After visiting Mevagissey decided to grab a take away to take back to our cottage we have used this place before good honest chinese food quick service and all very tasty

Been meaning to visit this place for a while and ordered a takeaway yesterday. We had the salt and pepper ribs which were very dry and over cooked followed by fried beef in chilli been sauce which was tasty although the fried rice was bland and dry. The reception area is in dire need of a lick of paint as it looks dirty. Its a shame as its the only Chinese in Mev so its fish and chips from now on from the Fishermans Chippy!.

Had very good food in previous years. Tonight handed over our list of food to young lady behind counter she wrote down our order didn’t repeat order to check and charged x amount. Picked order walked back to accommodation to find 1 dish missing. Rang to enquire told we didn’t order it absolutely no help or apology. I suppose when ordered more like a McDonald’s with 3 youngsters in charge. All I can say is quality of food very poor , stick to fish and chips

After spending the evening around the pubs of Mevagissey, we headed here for a much needed food stop. It is takeaway only, which suited us. However, we found the chow mein to taste horrid. Really disappointing. Won't be returning.

I had the crispy chilli beef which was okay but crispy enough for me as the sauce they used softened it up. It was not as hot as I would have liked considering we collected it and drove less than a mile away to eat it. Everyone else seem to enjoy the food.

We visit here when we visit Mevagissey as we know that we can get nice food . Decent takeaway food in a nice family enviroment. Usually a 20 minute wait but can walk around the shops while you wait.

We have been having Chinese hear for 6 year and get it every time we come to Mevagissey portions are generous and is honestly pretty good despite what some of the reviews on here say.

The 4.14am Yorkshire start of the journey to Cornwall meant that cooking in the tent with the rain rattling down outside had very little appeal and a Chinese Takeaway from little China won and it was lovely, hot and tasty, service great and prices good. Defo recommend

It might look a little shabby but the owners are delightful and we found the food very good. We'd just about given up hope as our eating experiences in Mevagissey haven't been great! Just a shame we didn't try it until our last night!

One of the best Chinese meals I've ever had in my life. However, the lack of card payments is a real downer!

We have been going to Little China once a year for perhaps 15 years; we have never been disappointed. The food is always hot, tasty, good size portions. This time we had chicken balls in batter, egg fried rice, chicken bamboo and water chestnuts, & soft noodles. We are a bit fussy and ask them to fry the chicken balls twice to make sure there they are crisp with no soggy batter. We find some of the reviews here hard to believe.

We had a take away from here last night, excellent !!!! The sweet and sour chicken balls were the best we had ever had!!!!!!! We will be back !!!!!!!

We had a takeaway meal for 3 during our holiday in Mevagissey. The food was pretty standard compared to other Chinese takeaways we have used nearer to home. No complaints but don't expect to be blown away.Included in our choice was crispy duck - 1/2 a duck portion. This cost £15 which we thought was a bit pricey. The food was freshly cooked to order and we had to wait 30 minutes - not a problem as it gave us time for a drink in the Fountain Inn just down the road!As an afterthought we checked out their food hygiene rating as we noticed that this was not displayed in the shop and that most other food establishments in the town were proudly displaying 4 or 5 out of 5. Search on the internet for Food Hygiene Ratings and you will see that Little China only scored 2 out of 5 (i.e. needs improvement) on their most recent inspection in March 2016.

Really enjoyed our takeaway, we visited last year and was impressed by their food - just be prepared to wait 20 minutes plus.

We had a takeaway from Little China during our stay in Mevagissey and I was a little apprehensive about it having read some of the reviews on here.It's not a restaurant, although there is a table that you could eat at and it looks a bit dated inside. That said the food we ordered was very good and the portions were very generous. If you fancy a change from the more traditional pastie and fish based food then it's well worth a try.

On every visit to Mevagissey we order a take away from Little China. Although from the outside it does not look much, the food is second to none, cooked freshly and absolutely delicious. Best Chinese food ever!

I never write reviews but this place is awful. Firstly, unclear menu, forcing us to over order. All food basically cold. Stale prawn crackers and bad tasting food. We paid around £40 and were not told that its cash only, then having walked down ready to pay and act surprised that I wanted to pay by card. I understand many places in Meva don't take card, but a restaurant where I'm paying over £40? Finally, when I called to let them know that we didn't enjoy it they were rude and didn't believe that it could be bad. Awful customer service. Therefore, you might as well drive to St Austell and get two boxes of chinese takeaway from tescos to cook at home , will most defiantly be better.

We really enjoyed the beef curry and Sweet and sour chicken. The rice was very moreish...Will definitely have one again when we come back down to Cornwall.Thanks

On holiday in Mevagissey - had a takeaway on our first night. Food was OK with very generous portions. Found when we got the meal back to our cottage that we had been given the wrong rice dish, as the Chef took our order, and his English was not brilliant.

Lovely food from the Chinese takeaway, however described on search engines as a restaurant. It has one table.

Chicken fried rice and chips. Salty and rice undercooked. Rubber tasting chicken and greasy.Asked for a bottle of soy sauce got charged £1.50 expecting a bottle of soy, instead received a small pot filed from large tub with roughly enough soy to fill a small sachet. Girl behind the counter just said sorry and then smiled. Never again.

Had takeaway meals from Little China twice and on both occasions were treated to good standard of food and friendly service. Would recommend.

We had a meal from here as a takeaway, but were all ill afterwards. At the time all seemed fine the taste was there, but unfortunately the whole family were sick.

We had a take away and ordered a chow mein and chicken curry. The food was ok. The chicken curry was watery and had almost no veg bar the odd pea, but not unpleasant. I wouldn't use this place again if it was in brum, but you can't expect much from a place with no competition in a small fishing village.

After a long drive to meva, my husband and I decided that we didn't want a sit down meal so we decided to have a takeaway. We both had house special and vegetable pancake rolls. The food was really tasty, big portion of house special. We both agreed that we only really needed 1 portion of the main and along with pancake rolls and another side order it would have been plenty. The only thing I didn't like was the meat was cut too big(hence the 4 rating) but overall very good and would return if we come back.

Phoned the order in at 5.30 pick up at 6.00 no delivery service .this is a first class take a way .You can see in the kitchen big plus. The food was tasty and fresh the six meal all went down welland piping hot

We has a party of 8 adults and 2 kids stayed in meva for a week and decided to try this little gem for the amount of food we ordered the service was very quick the mushroom rice is very nice if i do say so and big portion def worth a try

Never ever wrote a review before but feel compelled to do so such was the over arching poor quality of the meal my family and I had from this take away. Tasteless, got the order wrong (realised when home) and have never had such a poor Chinese meal anywhere else!

My wife and I decided on our last night of our holiday to try The Little China, we shared a Wondering Dragon, it was excellent, full of flavour and there was plenty for both of us.

We have just eaten the "meal for two people", which included beef and mushrooms, sweet and sour chicken and chicken chop suey with egg fried rice. Very tasty and still very hot after a swift 10 min walk to our holiday cottage. Also plenty of food, probably enough for three people. Very reasonable price and would buy food from this establishment in the future.

Have used this "Take Away" several times and have found the service to be friendly everytime. Whats good about this place? No long queues, friendly service and fresh food.Not very attractive premises, but good food non the less.
