I’m new to the area so I thought I’d try this place so it’s the first time as I love a chinese… well it’s the Worst Chinese I have ever eaten. Food Was freezing cold. Rice was like hard bullets. Curry sauce watery & tasteless! Chips tasted re-heated. I also had cantenese sweet & sour chicken, the sauce was like jelly & the chicken had a funny “off” taste. went straight in the bin! Will never eat there again 🤢

Delivered promptly to Reens Cross Holiday Park. Driver very professional. Food piping hot and delicious. Highly recommend.

Only 1 out of the 4 of us liked our food. The sweet and sour vegetables was like scraps swimming in an illumious liquid and was not edible. The house special turned out to be special fried rice with a small slice of gristly pork and 2 small slices of chicken on top with a desert spoon size of what was described as barbecue sauce. Half of the food ended up being thrown away.

The food was good and the people were friendly good service on a busy night

This place does not have any sauce for vegetable rolls. This is my first time to experience it. And also utensils are not automatically will be provided unless you asked for it 🤔🤦‍♂️

Had low expectations as a couple Cornish Chinese takeaways I’ve tried didn’t hit the spot…. However we were all pleasantly surprised! Food was great and we’d try again when next in Perranporth! Thank you :)

We live local and thought as we were passing we would grab some takeaway from here instead of traveling past our house into Newquay. No issues ordering menu has all usual stuff. Problems: 1: Price, well as locals were fully aware of tourist tax but yikes!! 2: Egg fried rice portions are tiny and ours was basically fried brown and dry. 3: 99% of Chinese takeaways we’ve ever been to have offered a bag of prawn crackers with your order free over a certain value. Non in the bag so I asked and got informed they are charged for even after spending £38.00 4: I’ve never had crispy shredded chilli chicken and sweet and sour chicken served in the same sauce with exactly the same flavour and veg in it?? How is it possible to have a chilli dish taste like sweet and sour? General thoughts, if your starving just be prepped for a bland same same dinner with no prawn crackers and expensive outlay. For a better experience use the Indian a few doors down which is far superior. We won’t be using this takeaway again and will in future drive the 9 mile round trip to go into Newquay town.

I am very sad to say that for my 21st birthday, his food looked nice and was appealing but tasted like I'd just been swimming in the sea. Unfortunately, too much salt can kill a meal. And that's most of our food is sat in a dustbin.

Absolutely shocked with the food and service, I used to get takeaway from here a lot but this time it was stone cold and the price was £10 total difference from prices online to their updated menu. I did get a refund for the wrong item delivered which was about a £3 difference. Won’t be ordering here again

The food was very bland, i got a sweet chilli beef and it was more veg than beef. I don't like vegetables. The beef i actually did get was sub par in itself. I got bbq spare ribs which were simply okay nothing special. I got this beef stu thing which i really didn't like. Didn't even finish it. In short: ok, not great. Infact not good at all

The food it self was very nice, however the portions are very small. Everything comes in one size so you would think it’s going to be large with the prices being so high. But everything is what I would class as a small from every other Chinese I’ve been to across the country. We spent £30 which would be normally be enough food for around 4 people, it wasn’t really enough to feed two. They need to be more generous with there portions and it’ll be a really good takeaway

Lovely holiday Chinese! Had the set menu if back in Newquay would return.

Food was ok, had a chicken curry, wasn't the most amazing flavour and food was not piping hot. Went outside and back to the car and realised there was no chips in the bag so had to go back. Really didn't like that rice doesn't come with the curry like it does with most other Chinese take aways. Put the price of my curry up by £4!

Had a delivery tonight and had to phone up to say how great the food was ! Been using since 2021 and tonights food has to be a new chef ,tasty fresh and lovely

Great take away. Food was excellent quality, and fabulous quantity. Tried four different dishes and they all passed the taste test. Wait was only 15 mins at peak time. Highly recommended .

Really tasty food, and cooked quicker than we were told the wait would be so expectations we'll managed. The Salt and Pepper squid was good, and I loved the Cantonese style sweet n sour King prawns.

Worst overpriced Chinese take-away we have ever known ! Where most offer both free delivery and a free bag of prawn crackers for orders over £20 these charge for delivery and £3.20 for the prawn crackers ! Even if you spent £100 Food was bland and greasy, save your cash and avoid at all costs.

Simply the best Chinese food, staff are lovely food arrives promptly for delivery and swift if collected , prawn curry is amazing as is the chicken chow mein, salt and pepper dishes are great, we have been eating here 12 months this Friday every Friday and can honestly say not a bad thing to say perfect in every way lovely feel and lovely people and lovely food. Best Chinese food any of us have eaten! Wide menu and reasonably priced £75 for 6 hungry adults with really enough food for 8! Highly recommend if you want to enjoy a special Chinese meal.

Worst food ever, everything was dark brown, egg fried rice no egg tasted of oil, veg chow mein was tasteless, fried chestnut & bamboo shoots , weren't fried they were in a brown gloopy sauce & smelt weird. Chucked it in the bin. Never again

Currently holidaying in cornwall thought we’d treat ourselves to a chinese. Come 3am we are all violently throwing up that chinese, can only imagine what hygiene standards caused that. On top of that we had the privilege of paying £50 for the pleasure.

Awful food and awful experience. Mushroom curry had hardly any mushroom and was bland and waterey. They don't even know how to do decent salt and pepper chips.

Worst Chinese we’ve ever had, salt and pepper wasn’t salted or peppered and chips rock solid. The sauce on our sweet chilli chicken tasted like it was from a cheap packet. And the Thai sweet chilli sauce was cheap and horrible. Best bit was the veg spring rolls. Will 100% not go back.

Ordered a takeaway for 6 people for 7.30pm. Came out of the kitchen bang on time, piping hot, great food, good price. Recommend this place 100%.

We had a few different meals from this Chinese while we are staying on holiday. We collected it from the restaurant and it was ready within 15 minutes. Very tasty food and would recommend to other people on holiday that are not sure from reading some older reviews. Great food.

Been here about five times since moving to Perranporth a month ago and must say they have amazing food. The service time is really quick and portion size is good. If you’re around perranporth definitely give them a try!

Best Chinese in Perranporth. Delicious salt n pepper chicken best in the UK, noodles cooked well n chips well salted. Good quality chicken none of that processed malarkey. Fantastic customer service. Amazing meal and quick service, i will recommend. Yes.

Im a local and this is second time in a row the food has been inedible the chilli beef had odd taste allso was like chewing a stick , the barbecue sause just tasted of vinegar, last time we ordered food from here we had same problem and when put in complaint was told we would get a large discount as food was terrible, and to be serving rubish like this when there not even busy is a disgrace , wont be using there service anymore its left me and my partner feeling sick

As a true local to this Chinese this is by far one of the very worst takeaways. They take advantage of the fact there aren’t any other options locally. The food remains bland, flavourless and expensive. We won’t be ordering again and I’ve had better ping meals from Morrisons. Such a shame they don’t remember their locals during the seasonal period too

Disappointed. Not up to the usual standard we have come to expect of this establishment. Hopefully only a temporary problem as I would like to revisit. Being a local it would be a shame to not enjoy this takeaway food as before.

Had food from this Takeaway during our holiday in Cornwall. Great staff, fast service and good food. Easy to find this place in this small town. We see this kitchen was really busy delivering customers' orders and also collecting their orders.

Having read mixed reviews, we gave this place a try. The service was quick and efficient. More importantly, the food was great. We had the D menu for two. It was ready in 20 minutes and all of it was delicious. Recommended.

Wow. What a fantastic Chinese takeaway we just ate. Everything was cooked to perfection. The portions were large and appropriate (plenty of cucumber and spring onion with the duck). The seaweed was unbelievable. Don't normally leave reviews but this is well deserved.

Tried this takeaway because the other one (jade house) was closed Had a chicken chow mein very very dry went in the bin..partners curry was awful as well I have lived in Perranporth 25 years and have seen at least 3 name changes in that time and all have been just as awful.. Never again ..I never complained because it was late at night and just very disappointed given the high google score ..those reviews must be by their mates..So trust the reviews of the ones that say they are on holiday or don't live local

A fantastic meal again from Mei Kitchen! Brilliant Chinese Takeaway with lovely staff and a hard working team on the toughest night of the year! Mei Kitchen is always super tasty, I always grab 2 days worth of food! Their Foo Young meals, Chow Meins, pancake rolls, you name it, just everything is great so I can always choose something new knowing the flavour will be brilliant! A special thank you for the team Today as with all that is going on, takeaways were slammed and the staff received a lot of negativity and aggression which just shouldn't be. But they delivered as normal and the meals are worth the wait. Best wishes for the New Year!

Possibly the worse Chinese take away we had. While on holiday we have ordered a takeaway meal as a treat. Chicken balls were dry and not nice to eat and Chicken cashunut was flavourless. Chowmein was dry and tasteless. Not recommended.

Away on an anniversary break with my wife we followed the reviews from trip advisor and google to visit this place for an evening meal. After ordering and being told it’s a 30 minute wait we decided to walk around Perranporth shops to take the time up. Returning on time for our meal we sat and waited a further 45 minutes .. in this time we witnessed several frustrated and one angry customer waiting for food also. The time we had to sit around and wait gave me plenty of opportunity to look anywhere and everywhere and couldn’t help but notice dirt everywhere.. filthy windows, door handles, unhygienic faux leather seats and dirty floor, dirty ceiling with lights not working (one out of six lights) I suspect one may have an accident in there after sunset. Considering the current environment with COVID 19 I wander how this place is open, and come to think of it I didn’t notice any food and hygiene certification on clear display as it should be. Eventually when our order was called we collected and made our way back to the place we are staying 5 minutes up the road.. the food was luke warm at best, chips were cold and hard, chicken chow mein was bland and tasteless, ribs were somehow tasteless, crispy beef was over crisp and tasted bland also. The lady who passed us our order did apologise for the long wait however in reality and apology for the poor service, dirty environment and poor food would have been more applicable.Avoid this place at all costs, very shoddy, whoever gave this place excellent reviews really has not got any kind of tastebuds or are comparing it to scraps found in bins. Not sorry to sound so harsh, it’s just all true. Seriously considering calling environmental health about this place and telling anyone I know who visits Perranporth to swerve the place and there is people I know who have booked to stay where we’ve been staying.

22/08/2020: Our once a week visit for top quality food from Mei's was only spoilt last night by the ignorance and rudness of some of customers collecting their food. I was only in the premises for 10 minutes and witnessed 3 seperate angry and inconsiderate people having a go at the clearly very busy staff. Small businesses in Cornwall struggle to survive through the winter then a massive influx of people in the summer puts a great strain on on fast food service. Raising your voice and pointing out the completely obviouse will not make your food arrive any faster, especially on a Friday and Saturday night!!!! We placed our order and were told there was a 40 minute wait, that gave us a choice and we chose to order. 40 minutes later we received our food and as always, it was delicious!!!!!Patients is a virtue!!! But clearly it something that many need to learn!!! Reflected by the fact that this is the first time I have ever written on Trip Advisor!!!@Cheers guys you do a great job xx

Just had our meal delivered to a campsite called Anchor Barrow. Food was hot and delivered on time. Absolutely loved the food. All of it was spot on and we'll be ordering again soon 😃

Suggest with really good reviews decide to try those Chinese food ... Unfortunately me and my family where really disappointed... The food even those taste like Chinese and instead of sweet and sour prawns I received chicken but doesn't matter as the sauce wasn't edible...

Avoid unless you like bone dry food. My wife had chicken chow mein which was awful. Very little chicken

Had a take out the other night and was not disappointed.We were on a caravan park about 3 miles away and they delivered to us.We had the szechuan beef which was great, special chow mien also good.My daughter also highly recommends the wontons

First visit here whilst on holiday,ordered in shop & only had to wait 15 minutes to pick up,very tasty & big portion sizes & great prices,would order from here again if lived locally.

Really love the food from mei kitchen, we have only ever had take away from here, but the people on the phone are always accommodating with my order, and the delivery lad is always polite and on time.
