Fortune Wok in South Norfolk

Excellent Chinese tonight from Fortune Wok to celebrate the Blue Moon. The sweet and sour saurce really brought out the flavour of the Chicken Balls.

Used this takeaway for many years up until about 3 years ago - stopped as had missing items from 3 different consecutive orders. Had to use today as ‘new’ take-away not open, so thought I’d give Fortune Wok another try, to see if things had improved….. but they still seem to be operating in the same way and employing the same abrupt (bordering on the rude) front of house. This order was missing two items with no ability for recourse due to not being able to order online ie no evidence of the phone conversation. This is a real shame - shouldn’t have to check every order, shouldn’t have to feel like I am doing them a favour for ordering. Genuinely not good enough and consequently will NEVER use this takeaway under it’s current ownership ever again.

We had a family takeaway for my birthday and it didn’t disappoint. Portions are good and prices are reasonable. I think they have the best salt and pepper chicken in wymondham.

Decided to treat myself to a Chinese tonight and I know that food I’ve had in Fortune Wok before had been very good. Ordered at 5:15pm for delivery and thought he had said it would with me in an hour. After 90 mins nothing had arrived so I called. He apologised and said that he had said “80 minutes” but mine “would be next to leave the shop”. … It finally turned up at 7:15pm……… 2 hours after I ordered! The food was fine but I was so hungry it spoiled the experience.

this is the worst chinese restaurant. the guy at the front till was so rude his name is henry bin and he was playing clash royale the whole time.

We are on holiday and ordered a take away. Service was great. Came on time, piping hot. There was so much and it was delicious. It was the best food we have had for a very long time. We were aware from website it was cash only so we were prepared. Pity they don't deliver to Hertfordshire.

Very tasty meal. I suggest you ignore those reviewers full of self importance and who expect a red carpet rolled out on their arrival. It can get busy because its the best in the area. Highly recommend.

Take Away only - Telephone order was handled by a very rude person, who on arrival, it was noticed that they were more interested in playing their video game. I arrived 5 minutes later than their "will be ready in 20 minutes" and I still had to wait nearly an extra 10 minutes. No Credit Card payments accepted - CASH ONLY! (I wonder why in these times). Food was decent, but marred by the taint of poor service.

They make the best Chinese Thai in Norfolk , it’s amazing , I can’t get enough and neither can my family and friends . It’s soooo tasty and big portions . Thankyou xxxx

We've ordered maybe a dozen times over the last 3 years, with remarkable consistency. The food is always fresh, flavourful and hot. £30 worth of food gives us one big meal and very generous leftovers, making it good value. Food generally arrives faster than they say, the only downside is phoning. As with many takeaways, they have no queuing system and the line just cuts out if they're busy. Online ordering and paying by card are the only improvements I'd like to see.

Only had an omelette and chips which is not exactly chinese but an overdone omelette with oven chips doesn't bode well for further visits.

Back in Wymondham and after an early evening kick off at Norwich and a couple of pints in The Green Dragon, we were ready for a snack. Our good fortune was to have the Fortune Wok on the street we were staying. The young chap serving was about 12, he was efficient and knowledgeable and a credit to the business! Really enjoyed the food which was ready in good time.

The food was yummy but don’t go here if you’re in a rush. 25 minutes for chicken balls and chips just seems a bit ridiculous

A few years since we had been in Wymondham so while we were staying local had to sample the chinese from Fortune Wok again. Not disappointed, everything well cooked and tasty with good portions. Could not recommend this take away highly enough.

I don't understand Chinese Take aways & restaurants, one minute they're great and the next terrible, We tried this place a couple of months ago as the food in our town has gone down hill. First take away was lovely, next two were progressively worse and the one I bought last night mostly went in the bin. I honestly think that something like a Waitrose chinese meal for two for £10 is much better value. okay you have to put the oven on and also go and buy it but if you want quality you'll get it after that little effort.

Hi we were looking for a takeaway, nice and easy, guy on phone excellent. Food good and tasty. Delivery was quick and we had a great meal. £46 included very good 1/4 crispy aromatic duck and prawn toasts, for four of us and we couldn't eat it all. If you are in the area and fancy a Chinese meal a good one certainly for takeaway.

Was recommended by a friend.. So we thought we give it a try.. The delivery was moderately fast.. And the family seemed to really enjoy the food.. Would definitely recommend to friends ...

Having lived in Wymondham forever and having tried the competition, this is definitely the best Chinese. Portions are generous, flavours excellent and prices competitive. I have never used the delivery service but when collecting my meal has always been ready at the time stated.

We ordered several items from Fortune Wok & when phoning in the order the Staff were very helpful with advising on allergies. So very confident about ordering. Arrived close to the time advised and the order was ready for collection. Everything was piping hot even though we have a 3 mile journey home.Will definitely go here again for a Take Away

recently just move to wymondham,friend recommend the fortune wok,so give a try. what a lovely Chinese take away,good price,friendly service and very very yummy,kids loved the noodles! definitely recommend to anyone, be back soon!

Always good taste, and delivery is fast. There is always spicy food to order while other food are for people who don't like spicy food. Especially Chicken Balls 'YUMMY' 😋🍤 Mostly always people ordering.

He sido un regular aquí durante más de un año y la comida ha bajado lentamente. Esta noche me pasé 25 libras y era horrible. Los precios y los tamaños de porción subido la mitad. Todas nuestras comidas eran horribles y sin sabor. Pedí 1 / 4 pato crujiente con especias y conseguimos carne apenas suficiente para llenar 3 tortitas. Aún no sabe como pato. La imagen muestra la cantidad de patos que recibí por £8. 50 broma completa. No vamos aquí

Was expecting a lot after reading some of the reviews but it failed to live up to expectation. Prawn crackers tasted stale so no crunch in them. Overall the dishes were hit and miss.

I'm a big fan of this place. Wasn't a big Chinese takeaway fan, I often find then too greasy and sickly. This place however serves gorgeous food, not greasy, the meat tastes lovely. There is a big menu with plenty to try. We try to try a different dish each time, and it's always tasty.

Had some food from here a few times. Food tastes lovely specially the crispy chilli beef. The service was quick and the owner Lucy really friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back and highly recommended.Thank you very much for the lovely food.

Over the years we have experienced many Chinese takeaway meals, but since moving into the area we have been very impressed with this food. Generous portions, none greasey and good value for money. Local delivery costs £1 and takes away all the bother of driving to collect which suits us fine.

Wow what amazing food used this place few times now and the food has always been amazing, never had bad meal from here yet. well worth a visit

We have been several times to this Chinese takeaway and never been disappointed. The food is tasty, not glutenous, plentiful, freshly cooked and great value. We tend to have the roast pork and duck dishes and the lady there always pops in some fortune cookies which is a nice touch. One of the nicest oriental takeaways we have had and the only shame is there is no restaurant alongside! Nice warm welcome by the lady owner there and we can only recommend! Hard to beat.

Regular customer and always enjoy the fresh and non greasy Chinese cuisine which so many outlets wrong. A must if you live in Wymondham

Staying in a rental cottage just a few doors away from this take away we thought it only polite to give it a try on the first night on our arrival which was a little late to arrange any alternative. We were certainly not disappointed.We live in a town where therre is a plentiful choice of take away and this was up with the best of those, each dish having tasty flavour and unique recipe to what we have experienced before. The price, taken into context with the generous portion represented excellent value for money. I can highly recommend this establishment and would not hesitate to use again, after all we have the best part of a week of our stay to go yet.

We have a local Chinese take-away in our village and three in the nearest town, Wymondham. On Tuesdays most are closed, so we tried Fortune Wok. We were lucky the others were closed as this one is by far the best, excellent flavour, better quantity. Having been born & lived in Malaysia until I was 9, and having worked in China, Taiwan & Hong Kong, I do know a little about good Chinese cuisine. The normal brightly coloured and gooey sweet & Sour given to us in the UK was changed to a more normal version at my request and was quite good.
