Happy Valley in South Norfolk

Disgusting!!!!! Burnt food! Asked for certain food to be removed ie peppers due to allergies and didn't happen. Asked for salt and peper chips and got dried basic chips. Over cooked. And being ignored by the company. I wouldn't even feed my dog this food. Rank!!!!

We've ordered from here for years, but it's gone down hill over the last year or so. Overwhelming taste of salt/soy, no other flavour coming through. We've had issues with the saltiness before. Chips were dry and hollow. The beef was black! Not sure what that's about..generally unsatisfied and probably won't order again.

We have been ordering from here for 7 years last night was terrible, the chips were reheated and hard as rock, the fried rice was solid one big lump, the curry had all red chilli not mixed in the chow mein had no beans hoots and the pork was grizzly, it was a birthday meal spent £40.60 and it ruined our night please don't waste your money in here theres a new Italian chef, hes not Chinese and know nothing about cooking, what has happened to the little Chinese guy who use to be the main chef, disgusting food, we did nt want a refund just wanted an apology but got a mouth full of abuse from Ray the owner, not very professional at all, steer clear at all cost........

Customer service was amazing! Hadn’t even opened still took my order. Food was still piping hot and flavours were fantastic. Would highly recommend

Nice food, good portions and good value for money. We also received free soft drinks with our order which was nice of the owner!

Shut at 9pm with 40 dart players next door. Was going to spend 50 quid in there only to be told they are shut at 5 to 9. Absolute joke

Good Chinese takeout as well as some nice Thai dishes. Best to order either in the shop or call up rather than via one of the delivery apps out there.

Lovely food we have used this Chinese for years but we used just eat and their prices have rocketed .. £5.50 for chips! So we stopped using them, sweet and sour in batter £11.90! We have now looked on happy valleys website and the prices are considerably less, why don’t they just stop using just eat and let customers know?

Used to be my favourite but recent 20%price increase on everything means there are better and cheaper options now

PRICES HAVE GONE UP MASSIVELY IN LAST MONTH Chip's £3.50 a portion Prawn crackers £3.50, most chinese takeaways give these away! Cantonese chicken extra 90 p . Delivery home up by another £1. Will not order my weekly takeaway from there out of principle now.

Food is very nice every time ive had it, prices aren't too bad..... I personally would recommend you try the spring roll, it's almost a meal in itself

We've been using Happy Valley for a while now, we live outside the delivery area but it's only a 12 minute drive for us and the food is always hot when we get it home. We've not had a bad meal from here, tonights was just as good as always really lovely chow mein, massive chicken balls, tasty fried rice (we had singapore and schezuan) fab spring roll and starter platter. Added bonus was the surprise free banana fritters which were really delicious.

The quality of the food is excellent every time and the staff are very friendly.

Brilliant value, bought through Big Foodie, had beef curry, chicken balls, chow mein, it was lovely! Crispy chicken, CHILI beef! Our neighbours always get theirs from Aylsham, they’d heard bad things about Happy Valley, but they thought it was delicious!

Bad experience here tonight. After previously enjoying food from here several times, what arrived this time wasn’t pleasant. A dish my husband had ordered from here several times, arrived with totally different sauce. Would have given it the benefit of the doubt, but this sauce was literally the consistency of water and a totally different colour. There had clearly been some sort of mix up. Called the restaurant, who said they had sent what we ordered and refused to send a new dish or refund. It was so inedible, husband ended up binning it. Worse was to come though. The chicken fried rice, rather than containing chicken, was full of hard/rubbery bits of what appeared to be cartilage, rather than chicken. Honestly, I was almost sick on the spot! No idea what happened to this takeaway, as it used to be our favourite,but with food and service like that, will never order from here again.

Excellent vegetarian options on nearly all the menu, tofu and Quorn. Taste's good too.

Really good food and I've been to a lot of Chinese takeaways around the country. Hundreds. The pork chow mein is superb. As is everything else.

Giant chicken balls, really nice chilli fried beef and salt and pepper chips. Not had one from here for a while, it’s still one of the good ones.

Great food and reasonable prices.

Ordered food on their website, money was taken and no food arrived. I called them and the woman on the phone said we didn’t place an order and there was nothing she could do despite having an email receipt for the order. I asked if she could refer me to the manager and she said no. I went online to check my order status and it said the order was cancelled (by then apparently) and then the next day all my previous orders disappeared. The money has left the bank and now I’m in talks with the bank trying to get it back. Trading standards is next.

the website doesn't work. it takes your money but they don't receive the order. I rang up but no joy, so rang the bank and i have to wait a week until i get the money back. that's the best case scenario. not a hassle free meal

Where to begin, absolutely fantastic food. The chicken chow mein was one of the best we have ever had. We ordered half a duck at £13, competing restaurants charge £9 for just a quarter duck and this one was far far superior. First time ordering from here and what is probably a very busy night being nye and ripe with the potential to duck up orders and arrive late and cold but NOT from this place. Would totally recommend I’m not a bot or member of staff just a guy with a newly grown moustache that my partner definitely doesn’t hate. You must get your Chinese from here. It’s the best.

Best chinese takeout you can get in norwich. Fresh, hot, absolutely PACKED full of flavour and you get a big portion (especially the chips. Don't miss out on the chips!) Chicken balls from here are just right not too soft not too crunchy. Can't fault them.

Wonderful meal, love the crispy aromatic duck and seaweed combo, noodle dish was fabulous too. It's always half a duck isn't it? Who orders a quarter? Haha delicious! One thing, the other duck dish is very very different and doesn't come with plum sauce - stick to the favourite crispy duck and all is well with the world :D

Requested 6:45pm pick up, got notification through from Just Eat to say 7:20pm, when I got there the chap told me I was late as they had it ready as per my request. People are going to show up at the time they get told. The food was nice but one of our dishes was wrong. We got a chicken dish instead of the roast duck fish we paid for. We called them up and they said they’d give us a free fish next time.

Really good food. Always arrives hot and on time. Lots of dishes to choose from. Friendly staff and delivery drivers. We really enjoy the food here and will continue to order from Happy Valley. We would fully recommend this place.

Ordered a takeaway and we ordered 2 chicken dishes. The chicken, if you can call it that, was a horrible texture and looked disgusting. Very disappointing and certainly won’t be ordering from here again.

Disappointed to have got 4 carrots in batter (Same price as meat portions) in my mixed meat balls, usually its prawn, chicken and pork. Also the Beijing roast duck dish was a little light on duck. Not s great experience today!

Very poor quality food, I order sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style and all it was, dry chicken is a sweet and sour dip sauce with cucumber and tomato... Hong style should have peppers, onions and pineapple.. the rice was over cooked, my partner ain’t his food but I had to drive somewhere else to go and get the food I wanted. I won’t order from here ever again.

I’ve now had 2 visits to this establishment and I have been very impressed both times. I have nothing but good feedback and the food is not greasy or heavy. Very good!

Al sentirnos como un tailandés y sin tailandeses que realizan envíos a Queen's Hills, decidimos pedir un tailandés de nuestro chino local. (También teníamos bolitas de pollo agridulces y costillas peking).El curry rojo tailandés y el arroz de coco eran bastante picantes pero muy sabrosos.

We ordered from Just Eat for 7:40 delivery, it arrived 40 minutes early which meant kids hadn’t been bathed or put to bed so wasn’t hot. The crispy beef burnt my tongue and lips it was so spicy. Usually so much better from here.

I'll keep this brief. Ordered a takeaway via Just Eat. Order arrived really quickly. Food was absolutely tasteless. Not a full portion of chicken balls. One Cantonese dish was so awful and not prepared to the description on the menu that we called the place to complain. In short they couldn't give a flying flip that we were unhappy. Wouldn't replace the dish or offer partial refund. As a result I'm going to vote with my fingers and never ordering a meal from here again. Don't order from here. You'll just be wasting money.

I have used this take away on several occasions it used to be good! Now I would rate it as disgusting food has been delivered cold on the last 3 occasions when i called to complain about the standard they said its due to the cold weather and the driver had 7 deliveries! so food is potentially sitting in a car for nearly an hour before being delivered bacteria heaven when rice grows bacteria within an hour of cooking. I certainly won't be spending any more money on there sub standard food and sub standard delivery service! Customer care is non existent they think it is ok to deliver stone cold food. AVOID THIS PLACE!!@

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!....We ordered food and was told 45mins for arrival.. food turns up almost an hour and a half later with 2 wrong dishes bearing in mind there was only 4 of us. Phoned to ask for correct dishes and was told the driver would be back with them but not till much later?? Waited for the dishes but they never turned up tried phoning again no answer. Phoned again following day to ask what happened to food we had payed for and they literally diddnt want to know no refund no answer why nothing. Awfull place and to be honest upon inspection of the other 2 dishes they look awfull anyway really dry with practically no meat in ether. DONT RISK YOUR NIGHT BE SPOILED GO ELSEWHERE

Ordered my usual takeaway on Sunday and the food was dry and awful .24 hours later and to present time I have been suffering really badly with food poisoning .Never again will I order from Happy Valley. Trisha

I love visiting this place, sweet & sour chicken balls are of a generous portion, the crispy aromatic duck wasn't as crispy as it usually is, it was more tough, BBQ spare ribs were tasty as always and the peking style prawns were very tasty. Chicken chow mein wasn't greasy or tight on the chicken.

Although the food was nice it made me and my girlfriend both ill for the next 2 days, won’t be returning

Each dish was fresh tasty and hot will be using Happy Valley a lot more as my local Chinese has gone down hill massively.

If you’re getting ribs, get the peking ribs. I wasn’t overly impressed by the duck in plum sauce it was a bit like dried pigs ears.

I tried the duck noodles Szechuan fir the first time and really enjoyed them. Not so keen on the crab claws

Disgusting and expensive meal. Ordered for delivery at 9.20pm. Meal arrived at 8.10pm, over an hour early, guests weren't due until later. Driver left, I was concerned that they might just keep meal warm until proper time for delivery. Doorbell rings at 9pm, meal re-delivered, still earlier than required. I asked why so early still and was told Happy Valley close at 9pm....so how come was allowed to ask for a 9.20pm delivery? Meal HAD obviously been kept warm and had NOT been freshly cooked, therefore had been in a warmer for an hour; all plastic containers had shrunk and warped slightly. Opened rice dish, it stank. Opened starter platter, sesame toasts soggy, spring rolls warm and resembled skinless sausages, spare ribs dried up and couldn't identify other things on skewer. Jungle curry and other pepper dish was also revolting; watery and stewed to high heaven. Will NEVER order from Happy Valley again.

A bit late with the delivery, I requested 1930 at 1800, then time came through as 2000, delivery was at 2015. The driver did apologize.

Shocking service, took 15 minutes to place order needing to repeat several times. Food order placed at 20.00 given 40 minute delivery time. Followed up at 21.10 as good had not arrived said food would be 5 minutes 22.00 still no food Hopeless!! Avoid trying to use this take away

If like me you love Thai food you probably equally get frustrated at how few takeaways are around. Well tucked away in Old Costessey is a great little one that does excellent Thai food along with Chinese and English dishes.

I have used the Happy Valley in West End ever since it opened it has gradually gone from bad to worse, most places if you don't like what they have given you, they usually put it right, to please the customers, well any normal Chines would. well tonight was the worse we have had and I'm never stepping foot in there ever again, Firstly last time the sauce with their chicken balls have been half empty, so I told them saying if I'm paying for a full portion I expect a full portion, when it arrived their way of giving you a full pot was to just ADD WATER! it was tasteless and disgusting to say the least. The egg fried rice was just warm, the noodles were like rubber and had a weird chemical taste to them, the curry it was vile, watered down curry sauce, I should have took it back and thrown it at them! or demanded our £20 back.

This is hands down the best Chinese takeaway in a 20 mile radius. The food is always on time, it's hot, it's well priced and the portion sizes are good. We always use Happy Valley to order our Chinese food, and as long as we live within range we will. If you're looking at which Chinese to order from tonight based on these reviews, then you will not go wrong ordering food from here.

Still waiting 90 minutes after we ordered. When we rang to check they couldn't even tell us if they had our order. Hopefully the food will be better than the service if it ever turns up!

I like a visit to here as it means I can grab a quick pint next door in the Cue club under the guise of wanting to save the £2 delivery charge ;) Good little chinese and friendly.

I decided to try this takeaway for the first time Friday evening. Superb quality food and the most tasty I can remember for a very long time. Will certainly visit again if in the area. Friendly,helpful staff-which makes a real difference. Michael Cooke

One of the best takeaways I have used. The food is of a very high standard and although there is a small delivery charge they are very quick so well worth it.

Good little Chinese, could do with being less pricy. Don't get a huge amount of meat. I like the pub next door. Used this a number of times.

Last minute take away, always love the chinese here, its fresh hot and tasty, always on time or earlier. Never had a bad take away.

Try the vegetable batter balls they are really good. Very helpful staff and a good service. Check you order though as sometimes they make mistakes.

Ordered our food on justeat.com, it took close to an hour to deliver and the order was completely wrong so we called back and was told they would contact the driver and swap orders. 20 minutes later with no call back and no food we rang again to ask for an update, to which nobody had done anything but would now send a driver direct to us, 30 minutes later we receive our food, but again it was wrong missing items. I over payed for slow fast food. This is a local Chinese to us but will not be going back.

Have been ordering from Happy Valley since shortly after they opened, initially as a cheaper option to some other Thai deliveries in town, but then just because for taste! Always fast delivery, hot and fresh tasting, really good food and the price is right too.

This Chinese takeaway restaurant was recommended to us by a neighbour. It offers a wide range of Chinese and Thai dishes, including vegetarian options. We had family visiting so thought we'd try out their set meal for four. The response on the phone was friendly and the meal was delivered slightly quicker than predicted.

Great food for a local takeaway which uses fresh ingredients where staff are welcoming and friendly plus able to answer questions about the various dishes if you are unsure about any of the dishes.
