First ever breakfast at Wetherspoon I was in Aberystwyth and hungry so I gave it a try. Absolute disaster. Cold and rubbery eggs, cold bacon and beans. They asked half way through if I would like another one but as they couldn’t get the first one right why bother. Pity because it wasn’t busy but obviously just left sitting there until someone remembered to bring it out. Never again, no excuses it was disgustingl.

Booked this for a birthday dinner having previously checked they could accommodate our dietary and mobility concerns. We were welcomed on arrival and allowed to seat where was best for us. The range of gluten free food available as a staple was very welcoming. The size of the starters was large, the oriental platter being a meal in its self! The quality of food was very good. Customer service was just right, helpful but non intrusive. All in all this was a lovely dining experience and we would definitely return again.

Worst Sunday lunch we have ever had!!! When the plates arrived almost everything was burnt...carrots, parsnips, meat. Menu said "Roast beef" and "Roast leg of lamb" but they were obviously cheap cuts of meat which had been done on a griddle! The roast potatoes were frozen ones which had been cooked in oil for far too long and were really hard. No cutlery on the table so all had to wait a while for the girl to "dump" them on the table. Will not go there again.

I’m really sorry to say that this was the worst Sunday Lunch I’ve ever (not) eaten. We came across Tafarn-y-Phoenix on a sunny Sunday and the lack of people in there should have been a red flag. I’m vegetarian and of the 3 options for Sunday Lunch, only one was available (the one I didn’t like) so the staff kindly allowed me to order ‘bits’ to make up a meal. My lunch arrived about 5 minutes before my Husband’s Beef Dinner. All the vegetables were cooked to death - with the broccoli actually burning my mouth. The mash tasted like some kind of reconstituted powder and I would seriously doubt that the Yorkshire puddings were homemade as claimed. Everything was absolutely tasteless, especially the gravy which had the consistency and flavour of water. I didn’t eat it, it was that bad. I didn’t complain because the serving staff had been so nice, I didn’t want to cause any upset. Sorry! I’m the world’s worst cook, but I think even I could have made a better fist of it.
