They stopped serving meals at 8pm that day - we arrived at 20:10 after a VERY long walk and the wonderful landlady was more than happy to open up the kitchen again for us. She even cooked some Naan bread especially for me! Very welcoming staff and locals, dog-friendly (our spaniel fell in love with the two pub dogs) and overall a place not to be missed on your tour of mid-Wales...

I stayed at the Mid Wales Inn and ate in the restaurant in the evening. Good honest home made food that was delicious. Breakfast next morning was gorgeous, would highly recommend.

The cain valley hotel was great, just what we needed on our way back from Llanbedrog. Amazing high quality food, was so tasty and kids loved it. Warm cosy welcome awaits!

Just walked past the newly refurbished hotel, which officially opens tomorrow and we stopped to look inside. We were welcomed by a manager of a sister hotel with such a warm greeting who invited us in for a tour. Well what a transformation and I have to say this is a place that is really needed in Brecon. Every room we saw and sumptuous new restaurant were impressively decorated From the welcome we had I am so looking forward to visiting the Castle for drinks and a meal

Just an overnight stay with friends. Parking was available at no cost and the bars and dining experiences were ideal for our purposes. We had the 'cheaper' rooms which were adequate and comfortable for the one night. Location is brilliant for a short stroll into the town. Would be more than happy to go there again.
