We stumbled into here by accident. We are from Philly, USA, and were curious by its name. We had wanted to try fried haggis and a fried Mars bar before we left Scotland, so we figured why not here. The man working was so hospitable and wonderful to us. They didn't sell fried Mars bars, so he told us to run across the street to the supermarket to grab one and he'd fry it for us. While we waited for our food, he gave our toddler chips to eat and chatted about his family. The fried haggis and Mars bar we're still raving about. We really enjoyed our spur of the moment stop here.

Had to wit 45min for food, 30min for the drinks, then went to pick them up ourselves as they were sitting on the bar, getting warm and flat. Cheap, but not that cheerful.

Decided to try here after family recommended it however we left disappointed. Firstly, We felt we waited a long time considering the place was near empty and the cutlery at our table was sticky…. My wife had steak pie, steak was tough and gravy more like a chicken gravy than beef, very average. I had the katsu curry which tasted nice (this is why I gave 2 stars in total) and we shared a salt and pepper chicken. I ordered my son a cheeseburger which came very pink in the centre, not an issue for an adult but kids don’t like ‘rare’ burgers, it was very thin so the chef must only have flashed it on the grill, again pretty disappointed with this one. We should have expected this it being a Belhaven which I usually avoid, gave it a chance due to the recommendation but won’t be giving it another one. Cost us a cool £40.

I won a prize at a charity afternoon which was lunch for 2 with a bottle of prosecco. The staff were so welcoming and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Good food, lovely prosecco, cheerful atmosphere with rugby on in background. Thanks Linen 1906, we will be back! Would 100% recommend.

A very large pub across from Queen Street station. Can get very busy but service is still quick. Staff friendly, and has a good selection of food and drinks

Don’t shop here, escalators out of service, lifts out of service and no staff to help you. Really poor JL, I won’t be back.

Great customer service and atmosphere. We didn’t realise they were dog friendly and ordered takeaway. One of the staff members spotted us with our dog and came out to say we could eat in. They moved our order indoors no problem at all. Food good quality too - would definitely go back!

The Old Clubhouse is ground zero for Scotland’s “Golf Coast” in East Lothian. Just a great pub. Unassuming, old fashioned, welcoming, lively, and with excellent food, it should be a required stop on any golf tour. I have been coming to Gullane for 40 years, and walking into the Old Clubhouse is a pleasure that never gets old. Outside seating with magnificent views on a warm summer evening, a welcome pint from a very good selection, and modern twists on traditional local fare (don’t miss the haggis, neeps, and tatties!) are all part of the package. Easy parking! Walking distance from any place in Gullane. Not very expensive. Ruth at the bar. Cozy dining tables. Full of people like you, whoever you are. Great spot.

This is one of the best places for an evening meal in Ballater. At times, it is best to book because they are so popular with locals and visitors alike. Fish, seafood, meat and chicken are all beautifully cooked and the service is quick and friendly. Fiona and Fergie go the extra mile to be helpful. Nothing is too much trouble and the food is always delightful.

Sorry folks but the meal we had last night was really poor. My dad lives locally and we were visiting so I rang up a few days before and booked a table for dinner. On arrival, the restaurant was closed and we were directed to a table in the far corner of the bar. Soon after we arrived a band started setting up just in front of us. Our main courses were not very nice. I had the mushroom risotto. There was far too much of it rice wise, not many mushrooms and it didn't taste of anything. I then had the panacotta. Not like any panacotta I have ever had. When I phoned to book, they should have told me that thr restaurant wasn't open and offered me the bar...and told me there was a and playing. The band were pretty goof but it was impossible for us to speak while having dinner as it was so loud. All in all, not a great experience. Wouldn't go back. Sorry.
