We’ve been here before and had a lovely pensioners’ lunch but went today and for £6.95 each we had fried egg, chips and one small sausage! I know prices have gone up but to serve one small sausage instead of the usual two was plain greedy even a kids meal would have two. Won’t be returning.

Was told hit food takes 20 mins. After 35 mins asked where our food was. It was delivered a couple of mins later. My cheeseburger was burnt and inedible. To be fair, after complaining they offered to cook something else, which I declined. I was given a full refund on the price of the cheeseburger.

We visit the Clubhouse regularly, usually for lunch which is what we did today, only to find a menu change. Some dishes were the same, some new, but a huge increase in price. Charging £18 for a burger without fries, and then charging £6 for a portion of fries is outrageous! The food isn't remarkable by any means, it's actually very average, and certainly not value for money. We'll go back, have a glass of wine or maybe coffee, but we won't be eating there again.

I haven't visited this hotel, as I booked 2 rooms for December, paying the required deposit. Unfortunately, travel plans have changed and despite emails, telephone calls and messages on Facebook, I am still waiting for my deposit to be returned to me. As per thier terms, full refund if cancelled within the time specified. As I have cancelled giving nearly 3 months notice there is no reason why they should not return the deposit. I was going to re-book when our travel plans have been confirmed, but definitely not now. Atrocious customer service.

Lovely Sunday lunch in newly refurbished restaurant. Food and presentation was excellent, more than a little effort had been put in and sweets sumptuous. Staff very pleasant and efficient. An enjoyable experience. Hotel set in the lovely Clydeside.

Last time I was here the fish and chips was really good. Afraid to say this time my wife had the fish and chips and it was cafe standard at best. I had the mac and cheese and I have to say this was the worst mac and cheese I have ever had in my life. Microwaved with what little sauce there was at the bottom of the bowl. The parmesan was probably fresh about a week ago and been sitting out since then. We won’t be bac. Pity as we are local. Staff (waiter, bar staff and receptionist) were pleasant enough though and can’t fault them at all.

I am not a moaner by nature, always looking for the positive. Staff were great and welcoming, as were the surroundings and ambience. Limited menu, in my eyes is a good thing as you expect quality to be focussed. However, after two courses came away hungry- I am not a big chap, 5’ 9” 12 stone, normal appetite. My posh prawn cocktail was great, the crispy skin chicken wings, not crispy. Your local chippy would be embarrassed to serve you the smallest piece of haddock I have ever seen, I mean come on Apex, where is your quality control, don’t you want repeat clients? Coffee, what is so difficult about having a hot cup of coffee? I returned it, as it was luke warm, the replacement was also luke warm, why doesn’t anybody warm the cup, I like to enjoy my coffee at leisure, not gulp it down before it freezes over. The waitress kindly discounted the cost, I spend a lot of time in Edinburgh and I have to say, I have a far better dining experience there. Come on Apex, put some effort in and put Dundee on the map. Oh, did I mention £9.50 for a glass of house wine? I never tip when being ripped off by wine cost. Lets get real shall we?

Had my mum over from New Zealand and she absolutely fell in love with the place. Ended up going back 4 times for dinner and a few pints! She even bought herself a t-shirt. Great food, atmosphere and incredibly helpful and friendly staff. They even remembered our drink orders and were able to recommend some delicious gins to try! The live music was an added bonus as well. Highly recommend to anyone visiting to Glasgow. 10/10!

A friendly welcome at the door, lovely coffee and MASSIVE scones (cheese or fruit). Really couldn't fault this little cafe and are looking forward to going back. Though we didn't try them, there were breakfasts, soups, cakes and more on offer. And the plant centre had amazing trees, shrubs and flowering plants that we really enjoyed browsing around. A proper nursery with muddy paths, hosepipes lying around, and staff who know things, not a garden centre full of tat!
