The Linen 1906 in Glasgow City

I won a prize at a charity afternoon which was lunch for 2 with a bottle of prosecco. The staff were so welcoming and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Good food, lovely prosecco, cheerful atmosphere with rugby on in background. Thanks Linen 1906, we will be back! Would 100% recommend.

Smashing place, had a few beers watching the football, they put on some free food too! Good pints and good atmosphere, the owner is a great guy!!!

Always something like a band or karaoke on here it seems. Like it. Always a reasonable pint.

Recientemente han puesto nuevos asientos muy necesarios, sin embargo, pronto será necesario reemplazarlos si permiten que el equipo joven, que cree que está bien, tenga sus caniches we sentados a su lado en el nuevo asiento.

Lovely little bar and great service

Visitado en una noche de personal un domingo por la noche. Al final de la noche, mis colegas y yo nos estábamos reagrupando afuera para organizar taxis a casa, etc. cuando notamos que uno de los participantes (que había sido un poco peor por el desgaste) había desaparecido. No pudimos encontrarla en ningún lado afuera, pero encontramos su bolso y su teléfono estaba en su bolso, así que obviamente esto es un poco preocupante para nosotros. Como todavía había mucha gente afuera, pensé en saltar rápidamente para ver si ella estaba en el baño, pero cuando entré, un miembro del personal gritó preguntando qué carajo estaba haciendo: ¿no puedo ver que están cerrados? Dije que lo siento, estaba revisando el inodoro por mi amigo desaparecido. La forma en que me hablaron después de eso fue impactante. He trabajado en hospitalidad durante 15 años y nunca hablaría con un cliente de la manera en que me hablaron. Entiendo que tal vez ha sido una noche ajetreada -nunca es divertido tratar con personas que han estado bebiendo al sol todo el día- pero cuando una compañera está desaparecida y potencialmente en peligro, entonces seguramente hay un deber de cuidado del personal para ayudar a esta situación en lugar de volverse agresivo y decirle a los clientes que saquen la F y la F. Muy poco impresionado por la completa falta de empatía y servicio al cliente. Me fui temblando después de que me hablaran de esa manera. Hay maneras de dirigirse a una cliente que entra cuando el local está cerrado y ella lo hizo de la manera completamente incorrecta. Nunca dejo reseñas pero no tiene sentido quejarse con la gerencia porque creo que ella es la gerente 🥴

Always a good night in linen and good crowd/atmosphere, and good music. Even better that it's opened late. Disappointing they don't do live bands anymore. Didn't have food so can't comment.

Only in for a lunchtime coffee.What was very nice received, we sat in the sun.So all good, service was 👍

Nice pub very friendly staff and good options for drinks. Quite a reasonable pub as well and in a great building. Nice tables outside as well.

Times I have been in have not been great. The bar staff seem to always be on their phones, slow to get any service. Drink prices are ok, but i've seen far too many flies knocking around the bar section. If it wasn't for the outdoor tables that get some sun in summer, this place would have closed down. Other bars near by that are far better.

I love the linen, it's definitely my go-to place in shawlands for a pint of cider or coffee. Staff are always so friendly, loaded fries are really tasty and they're dog friendly. Looking forward to trying more of their menu 😁

Good spot for football and a drink

We visited one Friday evening looking for dinner and a few drinks. The atmosphere was great, the staff were friendly and attentive, they were also having a laugh with a few customers. We ordered drinks at the bar, which one of the staff helped me carry over to our table. We ordered food which arrived after about 15 minutes. Everything looked and tasted great. We enjoyed our visit, but how nice the staff were really made it for us.

Stopped by hoping for a quick pint at the end of the night. We were greeted by a very drunk staff member taking a smoke break inside the doorway who got weirdly rude/aggressive about us not being allowed in the pub as soon as we approached. She then started hassling some punters for smoking out on the pavement even though she was smoking inside the actual building herself. Totally unprofessional place, won't be visiting again.

Came here for lunch on Sunday. The pub is beautiful inside. The food was lovely, huge portions. Staff were welcoming and friendly, and the service was quick. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend.

Yesterday my wife and I attended this pub/restaurant for Brunch and we were not disappointed! Staff were attentive and friendly. We both opted for the all day breakfast and although it took over 35 minutes to arrive, it was worth the wait. Well presented, warm and non-greasy. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

Love the open mic on a Sunday its so rare to find a pub that does late night herbal tea it makes me so happy.

Had a great Saturday afternoon in the bar. Excellent service, coice of drinks and food. Encourage anyone to give it a try. Live music too.

I had the pleasure of attending Linen on Sunday Night and caught their 'Open Mic Night' and what a night it was. The evening started with dinner where we opted for the Reuben Burger, which was tasty and certainly large enough, washed down by one or six pints of Cider. The service as always was friendly, attentive and fun and after only three visits I already feel like a local. Certainly a place to visit.

The old reviews for this establishment are not fully representative in my opinion. I was in tonight and had fabulous service from the staff. The guy on the door was also very friendly and conversational. Drinks are decently priced as well as the food given the current economical situation. Honestly, I wholeheartedly would recommend this place. Will be back again 🙂

Good vibes; shows the football; decent food selection but the frier broke so we were left a bit all over the place waiting for about an hour. Drinks a bit pricey. Staff were friendly but as I say, still waiting around a bit longer than we should have been with little to no correspondence, which was probably due to how busy it was. Good place but expedience left us a bit disappointed.

Amazing find on our trip to Glasgow, we loved that dogs are allowed to chill and the girls behind the bar were so lovely and funny. Had two pulled pork sandwiches with a portion of Philly cheese chips, our eyes were bigger than our belly but it was incredible food. Will definitely make a return when we come back up to visit

Nice place and food reasonably priced.

First time here but definitely will go back. We got some food for a late lunch and it was delicious. Club sandwich - it’s huge so might be better sharing that, cauliflower wings with BBQ sauce - soo tasty and loaded fries. This was all shared between two but was far too much - sandwich came with chips too 😀 everything was lovely and a great price. Great atmosphere here and the staff were brilliant - even letting us book a table for after the gig. I’ll definitely go back here - great wee place

Was in on Wed 18th May for Rangers game and won £100 out of the fruit machine and it paid nothing out. Two members of staff witnessed this and I took a picture. I went in a couple of days later and they confirmed the mistake but said only £60 had been given back by engineer. I have been in several times since and I keep getting fobbed off with a excuse that no one has been in to fix machine although it's now working. The £40 is not the issue it's the way I have been treated. I have tried all platforms to contact the pub and I have had no reply. I used to go into Linen twice a week but will now not return. I hope you enjoy the £40 Mr owner as you clearly need it more than me.

The Linen 1906 is a lovely pub. Great relaxing atmosphere with music playing. I dropped one star because we had a wait of 40mins to order then a further 20 mins to order so our lunch became our dinner🤣 food very good and wine/lager super. Will be back here again.

Thw barman is more than happy tae wash yer clothes for ye as long as you live nearby. Class.

Lovely beer, food and atmosphere. Portions generous and a good range. Very kid and dog friendly which is a huge plus. Gentleman behind the bar even made a special order of the best French toast in existence (why isn't it on the menu?) for the baby to chew on. Would highly recommend.

A great place to eat, with or without a dog. Friendly service, lovely food - we all enjoyed what we ordered (top tip, try the sandwiches - the bread is locally made and just so satisfying, the toppings yummy), the portions are very generous and the prices are bang on. We loved it, our dog loved it. Next time we visit Shawlands, we will be back. Loved it.

Decent bar for a few drinks if u can get served 20 minute wait for first drink after being seated

He estado en la ropa algunas veces. ¡La primera vez que aproveché la licencia de la 1 am y fue extremadamente divertido! Hay un montón de personas eclécticas de todos los ámbitos de la vida y buenos patrones por todas partes. Incluso tuve que cuidar al perro de alguien cuando salieron a fumar.Fui la otra noche y los camareros eran bastante buenos también. Realmente impresionado con la cocina también, el scran valió la pena.

Tend to go in at wkends, but face obviously didn’t fit the bill. Usually a friendly place but tends to get rough at wkend due to 1am license and folk scrambling there when there is no other option.

I was lucky enough to win a meal for two at my parents care home fete. Took my husband and granddaughter tonight. The meals were delicious and my 5 year old granddaughter loved her mocktail .the owner, chef and bar staff were very friendly and we were made very welcome. Will definitely be coming back. I have always enjoyed the linen.excellent staff.and the food is superb.the chef certainly knows what he's doing.had soup and bread for staters and the Sunday roast to follow . absolutely immense.

Enjoy going to the linen for a drink, tonight we decided to grab a bite to eat.I had the cheese burger - where do I start? Burger was homemade but the mince was laced with whole grain mustard- why???? It was so overpowering and ruined the burger. The chips were also still half frozen raw in the middle. My boyfriend had haggis nachos which were lacking normal nacho components- basically crisps with a bit of haggis and spicy sauce very disappointing.We paid for the meal at the bar when ordering so left promptly after eating due to dissatisfaction. We were then chased out the bar and asked if we had paid our bill? When replying ‘yes’ the barman asked ‘are you sure?’, eh yes!!!!!Overall crap and won’t even be going back in for a drink after service received.

Place was stinking esp the toilets , sticky floors ect was soppose to eat here but after seeing dirty glasses dirty floors I passed think the managers a piss head lol not good

Después de un par de horas, alguien empleado en este establecimiento, salió y nos dijo que necesitaban nuestra mesa para un grupo de 4 personas. Éramos una mesa de 4. El barman extremadamente grosero, sin disculpas ni advertencia, procedió a separar nuestra mesa (mientras estábamos sentados allí) para dar cabida a "un grupo de cuatro para el que necesitaba la mesa. " Sin disculpas. Sospecho que el partido de 4 eran sus amigos. Éramos un grupo de 4 que habíamos gastado una cantidad considerable de dinero en el establecimiento que lo emplea. El servicio grosero, presuntuoso y desconsiderado garantiza que no volveremos. Sospecho que no les importa, dada la actitud grosera en la pantalla. Hay muchos otros establecimientos en el área que darían la bienvenida a los clientes que toman una bebida tranquila sin ser completamente groseros. Luego nos gritó el grupo de cuatro que habían venido. Estaba allí con mis suegros que están en sus 60 s. Nos fuimos en silencio, pero estábamos disgustados por la forma en que nos trataron. Terrible servicio al cliente de un miembro idiota del personal.

Great local pub with good food and drink. Good choice of beers on tap and in the bottle, live music is awesome, they have the football/rugby on and the food is amazing! Try the burgers, guaranree they'll be the best you've had!!

Always get an excellent pint of Guinness here. Also great selection of gin.

Limited choice of beers, but still a nice spot to stop in for a quick pint. Lovely interior as it is an old building, worth visiting if just to see that.

Cracking wee bar. Brilliant selection of beers and spirits. Food is tip top too.
