The Hengler's Circus in Glasgow City

Amazing in this kind of time and age, there are still pubs where dogs are not allowed. So, don't go there if you love dogs.

It was the first very clean wetherspoon I have ever been in. Staff were nice, cleared the tables as soon the client left. The food was also delicious.

Food was fine but coffee machine we think had sour milk as coffee wasn't too nice which is unusual.

Went here on a Friday night about teatime and it was really busy but managed to get a seat. It quietened down a bit about 645 as folk went elsewhere but still busy. Food service was fast, bar slower so maybe order through the app. Nice and handy for Kings Theatre.

Visited twice, app doesn't work which is annoying! It was always busy, standard wetherspoons offering, prepare for the usual trek to the toilet.

Clean and tidy Quick service Nice staff

Service was quick, place is clean, sat outdoors in the first warm-ish day of the year. Must be a nice place as a load of folks walking down Sauchiehall Street went in and no further, a destination pub. Will visit again.

Great vibes, lovely spacious salon, with loads of seats and tables. Nice outside space for summer days too. Prices are really good, compared to other places. They have a great application to order and get your drinks and food delivered directly to your table, without the hassle of having to queue up by the bar. Toilets are spacious and well maintained too. My recommendation are the burgers and local ales.

Llegué allí con mi familia y amigos, uno de los empleados fue muy grosero y nos echó a todos solo porque había probado el tiro que recibí del aeropuerto, ninguna explicación simplemente nos echó, compramos 2 pinos de bebidas que ni siquiera llegamos a beber!

I am a big fan of Wetherspoon and their concept- deals, fast, option to order from an app (a big plus if you are solo). Happy that this branch is back in business, staff members are great there, looks like they enjoy what they're doing.

Having made a review about another Wetherspoon's only fair to write about here. As before, there were unoccupied tables with glasses still on. Opted to sit in a booth and took the empty glasses to the bar and asked for a cloth to wipe the table as there appeared to be only three staff on duty and could see were 'run off their feet'. Our meals came very quickly and so we had enough time to enjoy cake and coffee.

Solo estábamos allí para un café y el pub era razonablemente tranquilo. El servidor estaba encantado de charlar y era muy amable de hecho. La marcha de los Apprentice Boys Of Derry casi cerró el pub mientras las bandas caminaban por Sauchiehall tocando sus ritmos. Nos sentamos y disfrutamos de una taza de café mientras los tambores se desvanecían en la distancia. Truthfully, my stay was short-lived. Staff were pleasant, but table service was slow, and I had almost finished my meal before my pint came. I honestly could be harsher in my review, but it was an honest mistake. It did, however, result in my friends and I leaving to another bar.

Vinimos a Wetherspoons para comprar algo de comida y bebida barata, pero gracias a John (un miembro del personal que era muy conocedor y apasionado) , salimos con algún conocimiento sobre el whisky - cuáles probar y cuáles evitar. Conocemos nuestros ales, sidras y puertos, así como el vodka, pero decidimos, estando en Glasgow, probar un poco de whisky. Como no teníamos ni idea de por dónde empezar, pedimos consejo a un miembro del personal (John) y nos sobraron : )

You know what you get in a Spoons but this was good, we needed a bit of lunch before the cinema, got a quiet booth, easy ordering on app and decent enough food. No complaints here.

We have had breakfast three days in a row: both the traditional breakfast and the porridge are delicious. The waiter was very nice, he served us very well. Good quality food and cheap, comparing to Scottish prices.

We were here for breakfast on a Sunday. She was excellent. I had the Big breakfast with haggis and I am completely satisfied for a good price.

I've been going to Henglers for years, but it's really went downhill recently. Smaller portions, Increased prices, and no matter how many drinks you have you can't feel them.Such a shame

Excellent beer, friendly staff. Food was average Wetherspoons fare (reflected in the low price, so value for money). A very extensive menu though. We were there on a quiet Sunday evening, which was great.

The Hengler's Circus is my local pub and there is a reason why I keep going back! First off the guest ales from around the world are changed frequently- meaning that every time I visit I can try out something new. Staff are more than happy to give a few samples, and the time required to decide which you'd like a pint of first. There is also the opportunity to elect guest ales to be brought in for your enjoyment. There is usually a warm and friendly ambience, which is impressive considering that it is slap-bang in the middle of Glasgow's 'party street'. I have always been able to spark up an engaging conversation with a friendly stranger, or been left alone when needing time to contemplate life in peace. I cannot speak of the food as I dont go to Wetherspoon pubs for their food, although on a Sunday you can always find happy families and pensioners digging into a hot meal. I appreciate the decor, which is in-keeping with the aesthetic of the art deco Beresford building opposite. You can find interesting old photographs and information on the surrounding area, including Hengler's Circus which used to be situated in what is now the burnt-out O2 venue next to the Art School. There is outdoor seating where you might catch a glimpse of the rare Glasgow sunshine, and there are blooming flower beds which probably benefit from all the rain here. Staff are prompt and polite both at the bar and through the app- even when they have to kick you inside after 10pm, following Scotland's alcohol laws. The security on the door are courteous too! Great pub :) I'll be back very soon...

It's been ages since I've eaten at a Weatherspoons - I must admit I was surprised how good it was, friendly staff and outstanding value.

2.20 for a pint .. Great service and atmosphere

Good value decent food. Had breakfast with free refills coffee which was great. Menus needed a clean though.

Quite an ordinary place for a wetherspoons building tho it has its advantages being close to the Mitchell library and fairly busy. Usual good service and effort from the staff to the general public, it has its own nooks and crannies where small groups can have a convivial evening. Tends to grow on you as initially i was quite disappointed with it but now rather like the place!

We frequent this place as its just down the road from our office and we bring our managers here when they come up from down south. It’s a great place, so lively (even on a Tuesday afternoon). The staff are amazing, the food is excellent, the restaurant is well lit, lots of space, just a great place. One of the best Wetherspoons out there.

Cuisine for all tastes, typical tourist.

Pretty mediocre... The food was meh, I got the breakfast and the mushrooms were undercooked and some of the beans were off coloured... The tea cup my mum got was disgusting and the manager had to go through about 5 cups before she found one that was clean. I don't expect the ritz when I go to a spoons but it was defiantly below the quality of others.

In itself a nice thing, only small portions of food. What I ate wasn't bad, but neither did you say it tastes good. Sometimes it is so busy that there are no tables available even though it is a big place.

This is a tricky place to review.. the food is super mediocre, the place tends to be rowdy with many drunk and loud patrons, but it's so cheap and a really fun atmosphere and so I always enjoy my time! Just know that you get what you pay for, and if all you want is a cheap night out, look no further!! Our ice cream dessert arrived so late that the ice cream was almost all melted, but that's my only real critique

Went in on a Thursday lunchtime. Had a burger,a pint, and peace to read the newspaper. It's a great life. Staff were really good. Nice"Spoons".

Food was appalling..Three of us ordered sirloin steak 🥩🥩🥩 full of fat inedible. Staff was good refunded most of our money back. 2 stars is for the food that day.

As any other Whetherspoons you know what to expect. We went on Monday night for a few drinks and something to eat. It was not so busy, and the booths on the right were a very good choice. Due to its location the crowd is mixed which makes it even more interesting. We've been there quite a few times, and we'll definitely be back.

Standard Wetherspoons pub. We only went in for food as it was close by and we were a group so knew it would cater for all tastes. Burgers were disappointing. Jacket spud looked good though

The best Spoonies we have been in. Its very clean, everywhere is in regimental fashion from condiments, table and chairs, its like a showroom. Staff was there as soon as i came up to order. The young lady who served us was very very pleasant, My only gripe...NO TATTIE SCONES !!!!!. ahhh not to worry, my Roll and the wifes toast was great. The coffee was great too. Its a great recommended place. Some of the others should take note on their appearance. Place was great. Toilets were spotless and fresh smelling, deffo go again.....if they get tattie scones hahaha

Say here on my own for 45 minutes. Went to the bar for another beer because I ordered food and a beer but I was sick of waiting. I ordered another beer at the bar and told them only to be told they're busy. 30 minutes later, I overheard girls talking about the app not working. Low and behold...... Terrible. Sort it wetherspoons. First pub in maybe 50 I've tried that has failed.

It's another "Spoons". A lot quieter than I expected but it looks like the council have done an excellent job in totally trashing what was once a busy and vibrant Sauchihall Street. Why?

Good bar to go for a bar lunch and a couple of beers. Staff are very good at their job. We are not locals, but come into Glasgow 3 or 4 times a month and always go to a witherspoon Pub.
