Booked an afternoon tea for my wife and I and we were not disappointed. Absolutely amazing service and great food. Clear explanation of a range of teas and what was included in the package. Home made savouries and sandwiches were first class. Could not eat all the cakes and they kindly put them in a box to take home. A lovely treat. Excellent staff , service and food. You must visit this place to appreciate the hospitality and food.

We live between Deeside and Dorset and rarely in Ayrshire but down for wedding and decided to go to Scott’s as knew the owners through business over 20 years ago when they just had a couple of places & heard a lot about their massive success . Honestly , we couldn’t fault it and … we eat out a lot . From a genuinely lovely welcome from Beth to excellent service from all the staff ( Isabelle was particularly charming & efficient ) - wonderful choice of menu , terrific cuisine and good value for money …. With a charming view . Some people look to find fault wherever they go but , we genuinely found Scott’s faultless ( inc toilets , decor etc etc ) . Absolutely SUPERB - 10/10- well be back and Soon 🥂

Having always enjoyed meals at The Doll’s House we imagined this was a mere name change, and were drawn in by the offer of a reasonably priced set menu all day Wednesday and Thursday. Inside the decor was smart enough and the waitress pleasant. However they were unaware of the set menu offer clearly advertised outside, and then said they’d still put our meal through at that price so long as we didn’t order anything expensive ! This wasn’t easy as five dishes were already sold out by 7.30, leaving little choice. The soups were ok, as was my deer, but my wife’s ratatouille was the most ridiculous item I’ve ever seen offered as main dish- three slices of undercooked courgette, a few tomatoes swimming in a watery sauce. We skipped desserts and were presented with a bill of £72, the manager having forgotten her promise. On appeal she applied a discount, but £58 was still very expensive for an experience that could charitably be described as poor. I’d steer well clear - there is no shortage of places to eat in St Andrews.

Took my family here on vacation from US (8 people) having experienced the Boston restaurant myself I thought this would be a great experience for them. I was wrong. The waitress was great. The food was mediocre at best the rib eye steaks we got were over cooked. The porterhouse steaks under cooked. The main reason we went was for the Beef Willington but they were out of it and one of the chicken dishes. None of the food came at the same time some of us waiting over 5 minutes after the first steak was served. With 2 people not ordering a meal just sharing a porterhouse steak. The meal came to over 950£ for 4 porterhouse steaks, 2 ribeye steaks and 3 starters with 5 cocktails. I don't mine paying for a good meal but this was overpriced for what we got.

It is just a pity the food we had was not as good as the view. We all had the Chowder, it looked very appetising, but unfortunately it was luke warm. The Chowder was returned to the kitchen. A few minutes later it was returned to us. Again still luke warm, we then commented to the head waitress, who gave the appearance of not caring whether it was hot or cold. Just like her attitude as we all know it is better to let them know if the food was not to standard and it could have been sorted. But alas it was not. The result of this is, WE WILL NOT BE RETURNING TO LOCH FYNE OYSTER BAR. Not a happy customer. Stuart

What a cool, moody venue. Visited the Steak Barn for a late lunch with the family. We all had steak & chips, with sides of peppercorn sauce. Portion sizes were generous (even the kids steak). The steak was beautifully cooked and tasted amazing due to the bbq cooking. The chips were also fab. Cost for 4 steaks (inc. 1 kids), 2 pints & 1 coke was c£120 inc. tip. Will definitely be back. Popped into the Larder next door afterwards, gorgeous farm shop with lots of choice. Just lovely 😁

What an absolute find. This place was amazing in every way. The staff are welcoming, friendly and so attentive. The food was out of this world. Would definitely recommend 100% and will be back. Just wish we had found it at the start of our holiday and not at the end

Wonderful view overlooking the Loch, warm friendly pub with twinkling lights. Nice pub type food options & the steak & pie were delicious. The bedroom was clean, comfy bed, great shower & Loch view & had a fab coffee machine. Barman friendly & made a whisky suggestion & it was delicious 😋 breakfast was plentiful & sets you up for the day. If I was being picky I would say fresh fruit & a cappuccino instead of filter coffee but this would not stop us returning & we will definitely return.

Went here for a birthday meal, 9 of us, and I can honestly say the food was shocking, we ordered garlic bread for a starter and never got it easiest thing to get right, The new nashville burger over cooked with chips that looked like they had been cooking for a week with the worst salad to come on top of a burger.. Out of 9 people, 3 people liked it their meal, 1 was steak pie and others were salmon. Never be back after the new owners taking over it is the worst place to eat out at in kirkcaldy.
