Coppertrees Bar & Grill in South Lanarkshire

Starters were lovely my husband had haggis bon bons I had prawn tempura with sweet chilli dip main course was Rib eye steak sharer platter for 2. We were disappointed absolutely tasteless steak had no flavour onion peppers and mushrooms were not caramelised and were tasteless peppercorn sauce had mushrooms in it! also very thin and tasteless for a cost of £66 felt very let down, We have had lovely meals here in the past but will give it a miss now.

Came here for our first time ever going out for Hogmany. Atmosphere was ok, nothing amazing. Worst part was the service tho, spent half thr night at thr bar just waiting to be served and then forever for thrm to make them, thr bar wasn't even busy, maybe 4 ppl stood there max. 6 ppl behind the bar yet only 2 serving 🤷‍♀️ also wasn't happy that they never announced they were closing th bar between 11:45pm and 12:15pm. I get its prob a usual thing, but for ppl who haven't been out for Hogmany before, was rather disappointing they had a dj and couldn't even make an announcement to let ppl know this 🤷‍♀️ also the toilets had zero toilet roll for biggest part of the night, girl had to go ask for one, so one loo roll between 8 cubicals 🤷‍♀️ absolute joke. Place wasnt even mobbed, enough ppl to sit in seats, thats it. it was a mediocre night and wouldn't go bk, nor would I recommend anyone else does either, I'll stick to just coming for dinner cos the foods great. Greatly let down by the service 👎

Service and starters were good but unfortunately the steak frites was bad (overcooked despite asking for medium rare, and with 2 inedible -gristle- pieces).

First class! My friend and I were catching up for Christmas and we had an amazing Christmas dinner. Presentation was lovely with extremely hot homemade food. I love loads of cranberry sauce and we were each given a dish with plenty. We both had puddings which were presented beautifully with edible flowers and were very generous portions. I will definitely be back and would recommend

Service good to start with then fell to bits after main came out. The place was quite so not sure what happened. Just went up to bar and asked for bill and scrapped getting a dessert. I don’t like giving poor reviews but felt the place slipped up on this occasion. May return.

Booked this for my dad's 80th birthday and I have to say, it's lovely. Awkward to get to for those who don't drive and the prices are on the high side but lovely all the same. Would only go there again for a very special celebration.

Great Christmas lunch, would highly recommend the turkey xmas meal. Very friendly staff & made you very welcome. We will definitely be back soon. All food prepared by their professional chefs, the food made fresh to order & presented 1st class to the table.

First time visiting. Restaurant looks nice and modern. Was quite loud but I think it's because of the open plan type of style and our table was beside the bar as well. We were up from Sheffield and passed this eatery. It was a great find for us as we were looking for a quick meal but not the usual rushed and not so fresh fare. This place was attractive inside and out. Good parking facilities, nice modern decor and bar. The meal and drinks were great and fairly priced. Service was always prompt, polite and with a smile. All in all an excellent visit. Well done to the management and staff.

Had our Christmas work meal here, really great value. Portions were huge. Staff were lovely and it is decorated beautifully. Everyone enjoyed it, it's so close for us and they cater for large parties so we will be back.

My friend and I booked a table for breakfast for 11.45am after reading that Coppertrees were opened from 11.30am for breakfast from 22/11/04. We arrived on time at the restaurant only to find the doors locked. A waitress came to the door, didn't open it, and said "We don't open until 12". We explained that we had a table booked for 11.45 and she said the manager hadn't arrived yet with the keys to open the door. It was snowing outside and we were left standing outside until the manageress arrived with the keys. On entering the restaurant no apology was offered from any of the staff. The manageress walked right by us without any explanation. We were the only ones in the restaurant. We waited to be served and when the waitress came to our table, she gave us the lunch menus. When we explained that we were booked for breakfast, she grabbed the menus and stormed away. We ordered coffees as we were so cold after standing outside. Our coffees arrived, but no breakfast menus were offered. After some time we decided that we were leaving and going elsewhere for breakfast. Before we left, we asked to speak to the manageress. The waitress went away and came back as we were about to leave, stating that the manageress wasn't coming to speak to us as she was on her phone. As locals, we were trying to support our local eatery. Never again! Such shocking service and no attempt at an apology! We took our business, and cash, elsewhere. We had a lovely breakfast at D'lish. Coppertrees...if you want customers....treat them properly 😡

It’s a very nice restaurant with lovely decor and friendly staff but it’s too hot, so turn the heating down a bit. The let down is the food but I can only give my opinion about the macaroni cheese. It’s the most bland tasteless I’ve ever had. You couldn’t taste the cheese and even putting pepper on it didn’t help. My family thought their meals were ok but nothing special. As I said it’s a really nice place but shame about the food.

Just popping on to do an update as we had another night in Coppertree. Unfortunately prices have went up, possible menu change however lots of the same items just priced higher. I completely understand that costs have too rose and I’m happy to pay when the food and service is on par with the prices. In this restaurant it’s no longer the case. Pricing up to those levels should come with attentive staff, swift competent service and dishes to mirror this. Still good just not great. The food here is fantastic, absolutely the best place to eat in EK easily! Wish I had discovered how good it was sooner. Thank you to all the staff for a great night.

Booked at late notice to go for an impromtu birthday dinner, taking along our 2 dogs. Staff were very welcoming & friendly (to us all!). Great service & the food was fabulous - highly recommend & we will definitely be back. Lovely relaxing atmosphere & lovely decor too.

Service poor. Booked for 5 but seated as 4. Food was nice but the Gluten free option was cross contaminated resulting in my partner being unwell later in the evening. Restaurant is clean with nice decor.

The food is excellent, and the staff were really nice and very efficient.

Staff as always are attentive and polite, atmosphere is always great, food is always of the highest standards(even for the fussiest of eaters), cocktails are 10/10. Can't wait to go back for our 100th visit 🤣

Went for my sons 21st with family & 2 2-year-olds's. Staff lovely, quick service. Very patient with the wee ones. We took a cake but forgot our candles & staff happy to help.

Another delicious meal at Copertrees never disappoints. Staff all extremely helpful and friendly. Proper chef's always high quality. Very entertaining singer on from 8pm.

It should be so much better! Don’t get me wrong, the food was good just not excellent, it was the kind of food you would expect from one of these farmhouse / family inn places. The beef stroganoff was more like beef stew, it was good, just no where near a beef stroganoff, 7oz burger again was good & well served. The biggest bug was when we asked for a wine list “we don’t have one” was the reply, what wines do you have “red or white” I mean, considering the mark up & revenue potential from wine, it should be front & centre of your restaurant. We were told to go to the bar and we would be shown bottles of what they had, the. The red choice extended to an overpriced Malbec or mediocre Merlot and that was it - no house wine ! Absolutely bizarre.. Lordy, they were quick bringing the bill and take payment, however no one at the door to thank us for our visit, which was disappointing. The place needs a reset and change of approach, the aforementioned farmhouse / family inn places do it better !

Went to copper tree again today for a meal with some friends after I got married it was perfect and even got a bottle of mort and Shannon as a gift my favourite restaurant and the best in East Kilbride

The food was disgusting 🤮 The meat in the steak pie was mostly fat. The tomato sauce with the mussels was watered down tomato soup it tasted horrible. I’ve never heard of a restaurant that doesn’t have a drinks menu bizarre! We didn’t eat much and left hungry and disappointed ☹️ complete waste of money

After reading some positive reviews my husband and I went for dinner here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The food was lovely, service quick and the waitress checked on us to make sure everything was ok , but it was really noisy! It was a Saturday night and the bar area was packed and it got louder as the night went on. So if you are looking for a lively pub/restaurant with good food then this will be the place for you. I would certainly go back for a lunch but will give the weekend dinner a miss.

27 friends from the Gerihatricks walking football club East Kilbride got a last minute booking as we had to find venue quickly. The manageress Frankie and her team not for the first time looked after us brilliantly chef's did great with the food and a special thanks to all the young serving staff. Sorry we did not leave a great tip we will make up for it next time.

Popped in on a Sunday afternoon with no booking. Restaurant is clean, well laid out with long sections for large parties (there was a birthday celebration in progress) a large square bar and a visible kitchen. The food was excellent (tempura chicken, steak burger and Sunday roast) staff attentive but not over bearing and when I mentioned that I often worked at the nearby hairmyres hospital I was immediately offered the NHS discount. I'll be back soon without the car so I can sample some of the cocktails.

Have eaten here 5 times, food bit hit & miss, on good days food excellent on bad days food grotty,we normally go lunch times so not exactly busy busy, but can't fault front of house staff Rachel, Erin, Sofia always smiling and explain menue.

If you ever visit East Kilbride make sure you visit the Coppertrees Bar & Grill. Food is fantastic, staff very friendly and great prices too. We had lunch and even went back the following day for dinner. We will definitely return if we are ever in this area again. Thanks Rachel for a lovely meal

Excellent food, great prices, presentation, quality and quantity. Lovely decor and nice atmosphere. Waitress was efficient and very pleasant. Best place in East Kilbride for lunch . Lots of free parking and easy access into building.

Service was good even though it was very busy. The food was good, apart from the overcooked chunky chips that verged on burnt and tasted like cardboard. Marred an otherwise enjoyable lunch.

Just been told that the Coppertree are not selling Gordon's Gin any more only Selling there own Rear Gin now Shame on you .Have been going here for the past few years great service staff lovely . Won't be back until this is resolved .Even the staff has had loads of Complaints .Get it Sorted ASAP

I was recommended Coppertrees for my mums 70th birthday dinner and it did not disappoint. Wonderful service from the get go, everyone very accommodating and friendly. All guests enjoyed their meals and the set menu had something for everyone. Would highly recommend to others and will definitely be back. Would like to thank you for a great evening, all staff made it a perfect evening.

Great place to eat. Loads to choose from on the menu. Friendly attentive staff, reasonably priced. Only criticism is the small amount of custard that comes with a large portion of apple crumble.

Had a surprise visit from my daughter in Canada we all had a lovely meal will be back. Steak pie was very good.

Food was beautiful, the flavours and presentation was amazing, was our first time visiting but will defo be back! We had nachos, prawns, katsu curry, chicken supreme and sticky toffee pudding!

Visited for a birthday meal, service was 10/10 staff were very friendly and attentive. The space is huge so you can choose privacy or around other patrons. I'd skip lunch if you're going here for dinner the portions are very generous! We chose here as theyre dog friendly which is fantastic and we will be back again!

Having waited 30 minutes to get the dessert menu and then desserts arriving we are told we only have 10 minutes to finish up. Medium rare fillet steak came out medium well. Sea Bass main swimming in oil.

Really good food, staff were lovely, Eva was so friendly. It was very busy but we didnt seem to wait, thoroughly enjoyed the scallops and the cocktails were excellent. Nice to have live entertainment on too. A new local favourite for us!

This place is always a favourite with us, it’s our family go-to + hopefully will remain so as we stay so close. We had a get together on Friday 22nd, food was exceptional again with local wagyu on special. Have to say is was extremely busy and the atmosphere was good, but it did get quite loud…for us it wasn’t a problem. Great to see it so busy. The owner is always hands on when we’re in + takes a minute to say hello, as the wife says she seems like she loves what she does. Makes us feel so welcome. Not able to stay for drinks this time as the bar was standing room Only but we are booked for Hogmanay so looking forward to that.

So disappointed with our meal today. We have never gone out as a family for Christmas dinner-our first will be our last! Didn’t feel special or welcome whatsoever- no table covers or crackers in sight! Prawn cocktail starter was tasteless and poisoned with paprika, turkey and trimmings piled on the centre of the plate-no cranberry offered- felt really quite low after something that I had looked forward to. Won’t be back for any meal, never mind Christmas dinner

First trip to Coppertrees with continental European colleagues and it went well. First impressions aren’t great because it’s essentially a barn and doesn’t have an intimate atmosphere at all but that’s about the only downside; the menu, food and service is much better than the building suggests. One benefit of the large space is that our midweek meal was relatively noise free making it easy to chat. The menu is wide but our orders from mussels to risotto to burgers showed signs of a kitchen capable with a wide range of foods. Moules frites got the thumbs up from our French visitor. One last kudos for the helpful, attentive service from Erin and the boys at the bar. A very young team but all added to a very enjoyable evening. So not one for an intimate meal for two but larger groups will enjoy the menu choice, cooking and service.

My wife and I visited here recently. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The decor is classy yet comfortable. We ordered our food, and when it came relatively fast. The food tasted as good as it looked and vegetables were perfectly cooked. The food and drinks were priced adequately, and everything came under 50 pounds. I would recommend visiting this place. We were pleasantly surprised, and I'm sure other people will enjoy it as much as we did.

Lovely food good service but the bar in the middle totally kills the dinning experience the toilets left a lot to be desired overflowing urinals and a toilet pan that wouldn't look out of place in prison

We go here more for the cocktails than anything else. Had a meal here before, and it was OK, but the drinks are really good. Dog friendly as well, which I liked.

Coppertrees was a lovely restaurant with a great little bar area. The staff were wonderful and very warm and welcoming (especially Nicola, recommend getting her to serve you!) The food was really lovely with reasonable prices and big portion sizes!

Out for a family meal on Friday night. The restaurant was busy but service was still good and food served promptly. Portions are big and good choice on the menu. We shared 2 started between the 3 of us. Fritto misto was nice as was the haggis bon bons which came with mashed potato. 2 of us had the seabass which was cooked well with nice sides. Chicken stroganoff was the other meal which was nice. Cocktails were on special at £4.95, only problem was they didnt have a drinks menu as it's being re printed. Lovely night, will return and recommend it.

We were there for a celebration as a couple. This is not a place to celebrate as a couple It’s all about the group experience . That’s a shame . We had high hopes.

It was nice inside, a couple of things I would note, 4 of the waiting staff and bar staff were standing together having a chat, with there backs to the customers. My terryaki salmon was over done and the salted caramel apple crumble to me was a bowl of baked apples with a circle of crumble mix on top.....I wasn't able to see any salted caramel cubes or sauce?. Haven't been here for a few years but my goodness it has improved tremendously. Staff very polite and engaging, menu is very varied and reasonably priced, portion size perfect, food quality absolutely fantastic. I can't fault this place. Will definitely be back. Thank you. The mussels were totally amazing!!

Very good restaurant, FAST service, very prompt and efficient. Excellent food and quality, as-well as the atmosphere and staff. Staff very kind and welcoming, Food hot and very well presented. Even when busy we were still made to feel like a priority. I would highly recommend to anyone. Despite some bad reviews ( only a few ) I think people are just picky or enjoy complaining, I have absolutely no complaints. Very good down at Coppertrees. Missing out if you don’t go.

We went first time, was quite excited about it as heard great stuff about Coppertrees. Quick service as soon as we got in so that's a plus however I'm afraid the only plus there was. I ordered filet of steak and wanted well done with creamy potatoes. Got medium rare steak with mash ( totally wrong - it wasn't what I ordered. I'm also pregnant and I can't eat any undercooked meat right now at all so that's a worry. We were offered a complementary drink because of this, however our drinks were still full. Portion sizes are tiny. For the price we paid we expected a bit better. Undercooked meat is not something that chefs should play with especially if someone is pregnant and it could harm their baby. Manager was apologetic however didn't change how I felt about this whole experience.

Bought a voucher from ITISON as we wanted to try out the new menu. I had the scallops to start (which does have a supplement, but was definitely worth it!) and my boyfriend had the white wine mussels - both delicious. The large chicken and bacon waffles were the star of the show though!!! The service was great and girl who served us was so lovely (Kiera?). Glad we came back, and will definitely return again :)

We came here for a meal to celebrate our 25th Wedding anniversary. I can say the Coopertree did not disappoint. Our food was delicious & we will definitely be back. I would also say they are reasonably priced.

The entry was a little odd, just from the simple exterior asthetic. The food was great! I had the steak pie, my wife had curry chicken and chorizo pasta which she said was spicy, but not too spicy. My daughter had the chicken and waffles and loved it.

Underwhelmed by the experience. I had tempura prawns as a started and because of the variation in thickness and that they weren't on a skewer parts of them weren't cooked through. I had the steak pie as my main and the pastry was chewy ....

Absolute disaster of a night. Took 45 minutes to get our starters, a soup, a brushetta and a nachos. An hour and a half to get our mains and 35 minutes to get two kids ice creams. Asked multiple times for update of basic food w.g. burgers and not busy, so no reason for delay. Waiting staff all young and inexperienced. Felt bad for them as they didn't have any guidance from someone who did know what they were doing. Kitchen slow. Food quality- meh...had Wetherspoons that was better. Waiting staff didn't know answers to our questions re menu. Menu so confusing for dietary requirements e.g. V, Ve, Veo...waiting staff didn't know what they meant either. Vegan ended up with mozzarella, which turned out not to be vegan despite being told it was vegan cheese. No menu key. Dirty glasses. Then hit with £200 bill for 4 adults and 2 children. Really disappointing experience. Toilets nice. Definitely not worth revisiting.

Just back from a first but certainly not last visit! Services was friendly and quick. The food was delicious. Lots of choices for vegetarians too, which I am. My partner got a steak pie and loved it, I got the risotto which was tasty. The Oreo cheesecake was a great dessert and big enough to share. We will definitely be back!

If you like nice food go to CopperTrees. If you expect friendly service, forget it. I have never experienced more slovenly, ignorant bar staff since I started drinking 50 years ago. Yes, in 50 years this was my worst experience in dealing with bar staff.

Use this restaurant on a regular basis usually is really nice but the last twice I am wondering if I will be returning as about 2 weeks ago I had the steak pie meal it was cold but I continued to eat it as I passed it of as a one off and was offered a desert on the house but I was there last night and the whole roast lamb dinner was cold so I said straight away and they then brought the meal again and was hot but the issue was that my meal was later than my husbands one so he was finished before I received mine. Whats the point of going out for a meal if everytime its served and have to worry if it'd going to be warm enough. UPDATE: will definitely not be returning to this restaurant as I am extremely disappointed to now see that it is dog friendly I think it is now bordering on the ridiculous as allowing dogs other than service dogs in a place where food is served and supposed to be hygienic is definitely not the case.

We ordered the Salt & Chilli Chicken Thighs during our visit, and to my dismay, the chicken in the dish was clearly undercooked. I immediately brought this issue to the attention of the waitress who served me, expressing my concerns about the undercooked chicken. This was accepted by the waitress and was returned to the kitchen. However, instead of acknowledging my legitimate concern, the management staff tried to reassure me that the chicken was cooked properly and that the appearance of being undercooked was due to the fat content. Despite her attempted assurance, I was still convinced that the chicken not cooked to a safe temperature. I appreciate the effort the management staff made to explain the situation, but it was unnecessary to make me feel like I was being fussy or overly cautious. As a customer, I have the right to expect properly cooked food and to raise concerns when it falls short of expectations. So for the reasons that the chicken was clearly undercooked, and the managers refusal to acknowledge the severity of the situation, we will not be going back to this place.
