Brookside Garden Centre in South Lanarkshire

Had a great day at the Christmas open day. The kids loved it. Food at the cafe is amazing. They have gluten free and dairy free. They have wheelchair access throughout

The food is good and reasonably priced. Service is also good. The shop is decent but a little bit on the small side, split between garden/patio furniture and gifts. The garden centre is also relatively small with an indoor section containing equipment and other materials. The outdoor section had a decent selection of plants, trees, etc, along with pots and other outdoor supplies.

Really nice garden centre with a cafe area inside which does hot food, drinks and cakes. You are able to take dogs in which is extremely helpful if you don’t want your furry friend missing out. They will happily accommodate to allow for dogs to have something to eat (we got scrambled egg for our dog). Food selection has a wide range which is why I like going (especially with the option of curly fries). They offer a range of sandwiches, paninis and other meals as well as a kids meal section. There is also the garden centre area attached which has a variety of items within it. Staff are also extremely friendly.

Had a lovely lunch here with some friends. Soup was delicious.

Went today with my mum and sister - they had a nice lunch, I was so disappointed myself - I asked for Macaroni Cheese, I have no idea what was included in the dish - it was mustard or chicken stock cube, it was not good. Also and more importantly not stated. The colour alone put me off, staff were nice, never again though…

Excellent breakfast, lunch portion was a bit dubious mac and cheese should be double the amount as its a very cheap dish to prepare.

Nice little garden centre that was busy, they have very nice garden and conservatory furniture here.

Wide variety of anything u need garden related. The cafe is a nice spot to get some lovely homemade soup. Staff very friendly. Sheltered tables outside also so u can take ur dog

Went here for lunch on 23 July, we often pop down for lunch on a Sunday. To say we were disappointed is and understatement. I ordered a highlander burger, this came on a small plate with 12 chips max, also prawn sandwich I counted 4 prawns, the rest was sauce. The soup was nice, also got 2 cans of juice and a milkshake. It cost £27. I do not grudge paying what it cost but I like to get value for my money. I will not be back.

Nice place to have to fall back on when you just want to have somewhere to grab a bite to eat, catch your breath and have a chat. Good food at decent prices with friendly and accommodating staff.

Lovely food, homemade cakes dog friendly

Their soup and a sandwich deal is good. Their soups have always been nice anytime I have had them. Staff are nice and helpful.

Everything and more from plants, to garden furniture to garden ornaments to confectionery to a fabulous inexpensive restaurant.. lots of parking available

Good quality and reasonably priced food. Personable and friendly staff. Some gardening products appear expensive compared to the bigger companies, but that is only to be expected when you lack the buying clout of those bigger buyers. However, this is more than offset by a knowledgeable and happy-to-help attitude.

Most folk come for the newly extended cafe, but there's a decent selection of gardening tools and supplies as well as plants for the gardeners and the gardening side is good value.

A great place to go if you're looking for an easy bit to eat with young kids loads of space ...under renovation at present going to look nice once completed....my parents enjoy the wander around the garden centre.

I really think you need to have the outside seating with some heaters or something to keep the cold out. It was snowing I had my boarder terrier with me ,so wasn't allowed in with my dog, I also had about 10 people outside and we where freezing cold. I dnt understand why your not dog friendly 😕, when there are cafes like ronzios in Hamilton and roma in Larkhall that are dog friendly , pretty disappointed given its a garden centre as well .

For such a small centre they have so much on offer from teas to gardening + .

Smaller garden plant area now with area for household decorations, pictures and vases,etc, plus a large tearoom inside.

The food and service was ok. Still seems like some ways to go to compete with Dobbies or Caulders.

We mainly went in for a small lunch, which was spot on. Food portions were good for the price, and smaller options were available. I hade the chicken tikka panini, it came with a salad and coleslaw. Staff were really friendly, and the joint was clean. The garden center itself was laid out oddly, but it made for a nice little walk around

We visited the Brookside Garden looking for something to get rid of snails in my friends garden and found just what she needed.Its an amazing place with everything you'd need for garden or plants 🪴 There's something more there to mention it's worth a visit.They have a nice restaurant as well which we had a lovely snack in.We had salad rolls panninies and a cheese toasties.All.were really good and the serving staff were nice and friendly .

What a difference with the new extension. Still work ongoing at the moment. Very friendly staff and good selection of food.

Was very busy when we visited the restaurant. Staff seemed to be overwhelmed with the orders. Long waiting times for food to be brought to the table. They got our food order wrong and some of the food was almost cold by the time we got it.

Amazing home cooked food at reasonable prices. Home made cakes as well!! Quite busy but socially distanced and tables are sanitized well between uses. Really impressed will definitely be back!

Well worth a visit, the restaurant is now full functional and the staff are observing all covid requirements. The garden centre has an excellent selection of plants and other garden requirements. Lovely display of furniture and lighting in the main showroom.They try really hard to look after their customers in this establishment, well done everyone.
