The food was average and can’t say I enjoyed the barking dog who was with another couple sat next to us. That was a first and no not a support dog

good place to go in the area. Food pretty good, homemade burgers, even for the kids. One issue with one dish being a little cold. Immediately replaced and refunded. Cant complain. Pricey as compared to other areas, but in line with the village. Overall food good, value decent, cocktails decent. No hassle with a boy in a wheelchair on a Saturday night. Staff tuned in and pretty attentive. Pub that does good food as opposed to a restaurant. If you look at in this regard, id recommend it

Frequented here over 30 year period. Used to be the “in” place in the area. Really busy and hard to get in. Today arrived on a Thursday lunchtime very quiet hardly any cars in car park. Inside empty . Had a light lunch as in hurry . The waitress was excellent very mannerly and pleasant . But the food took ages to arrive and was average at best . One tip in an empty restaurant why would you sit the only other couple that arrived in a table virtually on your shoulder giving both of us no privacy . The restaurant bar has been refurbished and looked really good. Something has to be wrong to go from the busy vibrant pub to this though. I assume they are struggling too as the food was ok but pricey . Think this is a message one doesn’t want to see in the toilet. Don’t warn the minority in this way not really conducive to sell your Premises reputation. Surely these people can be dealt with without putting this in our face while trying to enjoy a bar lunch on a quiet Thursday. Good intentions maybe but unnecessary sign. Charging £4 for A Soda water is not a good way to get your customers flocking back either. Really overall a bit disappointed to see this place looking a bit down on its heels. Hope it survives great history in the area.

We feel this pub/restaurant was overrated. Very average food. Fish was sent back as batter was soggy and undercooked. Hand cut chips were large, skin on wedges, not chips. Chicken Parmigiana had way too much mozzarella on top so was a soggy mess. Sat in a booth in the back corner so no view and no atmosphere. Definitely not what we would consider a gastro pub.

I had a very disappointing experience The Cricklewood in bothwell. We arrived on a on a very quiet Thursday and were seating quickly in a nice booth. we ordered the 19£ set menu. The starters (Soup and venison ) were okay. However, our main courses were brought out while we were still eating our starters, creating a rushed and chaotic meal.During our mains my girlfriend found a long black human hair in her sea bream. after notify the waiter, we received no apology, we just were just told he would double check it with the chefs. Upon returning he said it was from one of the kitchen towels and refused to acknowledged it was a long black hair. when asked to see said towels he refused with a weak excuse saying it happens all the time to him at home. after receiving the bill they took off £2 from the total, we left feeling robbed and disgusted. This level of carelessness and poor service is unacceptable. I won't be returning.I would advise you to spend your money literally anywhere else.

Been here before for a special occasion and came here again a few days ago, just like the first time the place is absolutely stunning with really friendly staff who see to you pretty much straight away, we had a few beers at the bar, I was driving so it was a non alcoholic corona for me and wine for the good lady, the food was absolutely amazing, never had such tasty fish n chips and I’m from scarborough, the only downside was the portion had shrunk by about a third compared to the last time I was there about 3 years ago and the portion of chips too and I’m sure there was mushy peas last time or maybe there wasn’t? My good lady had the peri peri chicken burger which she described as ‘tip top’ For pudding I had the most amazing sticky toffee pudding with honeycomb and coconut ice cream and my lady had cheesecake with cream, I even helped polish hers off! 😊lol All in all a brilliant night, nice and quiet with a good atmosphere.

Went to visit the Cricklewood on Monday 18th March and walked in at 19:40. We waited at the sign that says “Wait here to be seated” and the two girls behind the bar looked at us like we were complete idiots and didn’t bother to come over. So we approached the bar and one of them came to us and I said we’d like a table for two for food. They looked at each other, rolled their eyes and said they’d have to check with the kitchen, which astonished us as it was only 19:40. She came back and said there was an issue in the kitchen and they weren’t serving food, despite several people sat down and eating around us. So I doubted the truth in this. I have been to the Cricklewood a few times recency and on all occasions, I’ve got the impression from the female staff, a complete sense of being disinterested and all they want to do is go home early. It’s such a shame as The Cricklewood is a lovely looking restaurant and they’re completely ruining the place. If you want a decent meal with good service, I really don’t think The Cricklewood is the place to go anymore unfortunately and it saddens me to say this.

Was asked what drinks we would like and when I said can we have a couple of minutes as we did not know if we were staying or not the waitress rolled her eyes and tutted before waling away which was rude and unprofessional. Meals came very fast as you had to order all courses at the start which again I did not like. As soon as the starters were finished the next course was out with not even 5 minutes between them. The whole service was very rushed, portions were smaller than I have had previously. We were looking forward to the al carte menu but on this occasion was very let down by not advertising or stating on phone the set menu. £90.00 in total, definitely not value for money.

Funeral reception party. We had to ask when food was arriving as we waited so long. It is understandable to wait as it's a party of 22 and food is not pre-ordered. However, food made to order should be warm. Most steak pie orders were cold, some to the point of being inedible; the chicken was not greatly warm and was tough; the tea out of flasks was 'stewed'. Management accepted comments and gave free sticky toffee pudding to everyone, although quite a few didn't actually want it by this point. The pudding was actually the warmest and nicest thing served. The room was also very cold and we had to ask for radiators to be turned on. It was a stress that the family could have done without on the day - listening to their guests complain. That being said, the staff were friendly and did their best.

First time at the Cricklewood for many years and thought we would give it a try again. Total waste of money. Culin skink soup was basically a bowl of cream. The seabream wasn’t enough to feed a cat and the vegetable consisted of a couple of potatoes cut in half to look more and a piece of parsley on top. As for the Cricklewood fish and chips, well I had to look closely for the fish hidden in all the batter. The restaurant was busy but honestly, I don’t know why. If they are all returning customers, they must be easily pleased. I might give it a try again in 2050 if I’m still around but I’ll need to be convinced.

Was aware of the 90 min time slot and was actually worried that it wouldn’t be long enough, I had no reason to worry, we pre-ordered our food and were given our starters within a few mins of sitting down and before our drinks arrived. As soon as we fin shed starters were given our main. We finished our main course within 30 mins of arriving. Quality of food wasn’t good, the goats cheese tart was a lump of goats cheese on a plate which was very unappealing, I couldn’t finish it, the turkey seemed like it was pre cut mass produced sliced turkey and the vegetables were hard. The pudding was nothing special. We didn’t find paying the included service charge as the staff were working Christmas Day after all however the customer service could off been better.

Drinks arrived at the end of finishing our starters. Mains out within 5 minutes of them clearing the starters! Had to get my son to ask a staff member for another drinks order. Drinks were sitting at the bar after a few minutes of ordering and had to ask if we could just take them so we had them While eatting! Desserts when can the ice cream on the plates were all melted which im guessing had been sitting out for a while. As soon as desserts were cleared the waitress asked if we would like the bill. It was honestly too rushed …. Booking was 330pm and all meals were served and bill paid for 430pm. £52 service charge which personally i dont think should be added let the customer make the choice on how much they want to pay!!! When booking wasn't told about service charge or vacating table at a certain time! The bill was £700 which means there tip was £70 think it's unnecessary to be told what you should pay as a tip! We weren't made aware of service charge (should have been told at time of booking) and to be honest we would be more than happy to tip but not to be told how much! Would we go back?? The roast came with two tiny pieces of beef, which were completely over-cooked, they were solid flavourless, and dry. It also came with 3 tiny roast potatoes and a burnt yorkshire pudding. Most underwhelming, overcooked and an extremely pitiful portion size of a Sunday roast I’ve ever encountered. The 4 small almost wafer thin slices of beef (that’s 2 slices per dinner) where some how tough as old boots yet wafer thin. The Yorkshire pudding was just cremated and have no idea what the chef is thinking with those pathetic roast potatoes. The 2 same dinners had different amounts of veg too wee just very odd to send that out a supposedly established restaurant. The waitresses could see too and didn’t even ask how the meal was. Won’t ever be back stay clear.

Came here for a works meeting, we had full use of the function room upstairs. The service was fantastic and food was beautiful. Great sized room for what we needed it for too, which had its own bar.

Was there for a party upstairs so can't give a full review. The bit upstairs had a fairly nice atmosphere and it's own bar. A bit of a Warren to get to the stairs and toilets (not very clean). There was a good choice of beers and spirits - the 0% beer was a peroni which was actually OK (I was driving) but my fist glass was pretty dirty.

Attended a baby shower in the function suite. Great size room, a staffed bar by a really nice barman. Lovely food which everyone raved about. I'd definitely go back.

Attended here yesterday as a Mother Day treat. The area we were seated was nice and bright. We ordered drinks and were given the menus but I had to ask for the Vegan menu as this was not offered and I knew there was one as I'd see it online. Our meals arrrived and I'd say the macaroni was average. My sisters vegan risotto however was awful. It was a runny consistency. I gave her bread from my meal as it wasn't enough for a main meal. After some time we had to call down the room to a staff member as we were left with dirty dishes and no drinks. The girl came having rolled her eyes when I called her. We were not asked if we had enjoyed the meal or offered further drinks or a dessert. We went to the bar were one girl took an order for drinks and took payment and another pourned the drinks and got them wrong We then asked for the bill and left. I would not return to this restaurant as it is expensive, food is not good and the service is awful. We did not speak to anyone there as no one seemed to be in charge.

Family of 4. Ordered 2x steak pie, chicken burger, chicken Pepe and some onion rings and chicken strips. Steak pie was kids sized, chewy, tasteless with three small potatoes and a very small portion of veg Chicken Pepe, small fillet of chicken and three small haggis fritters, no veg or side salad. Chicken was ok. Haggis not so much. Chicken burger..best of a bad lot Onion rings. Not bad £90 with no alcohol Better off with a chippy

Despite being local to The Lee Burn, I'd never been before, until it was recommended to me by a couple of friends, so I thought I'd pop in on the route home from work for a quick pint. The Lee Burn has a pleasantly cosy and relaxing atmosphere and the staff are incredibly welcoming and expertly balance friendliness and professionalism, which other places in the area could take notes from The Lee Burn. Honesty can't fault it for where it is! Even though I'd only popped in, I definitely wanted to stay longer, which is probably the best compliment I can give. I'm usually the first one to want to go home and be in my safe space, but The Lee Burn is just that relaxing! Will be back in the near future :)

Staff are either ignorant or incompetent or both. having dined here before a few times my wife and I stopped in for lunch as walk-ins. I entered and asked for a table for 2, the lady behind the bar made a show of the checking availability on the iPad, many tables were reserved so we guessed that we might be unlucky. "Sorry, we have nothing available", "okay no problem" Her colleague then, right in front of me picked up the bookings iPad and addressed the couple behind me, who also didn't have a reservation. "Oh, you're in luck, we have one table left". As i said a mix of ignorance and incompetence We won't be returning!

Excellent fish suppers, very tasty and freshly made, well priced too. The chicken suppers and pizza were also good, staff were pleasant and helpful.
