My Daughter Yvonne had a surprise 70 th Birthday for me on Saturday 13/4/2024 .The manager and staff were good and the food was lovely I had 19 adults and 3 kids and everyone enjoyed their food I will be back soon thank you for putting things in place for my special day .

Sadly I was there for a funeral. The decor is more welcoming and comfortable now, staff are very pleasant and work hard. Only complaint was chips were overdone, and unedible.

Good food. All home cooked to order.

We have been coming to the Mailcoach for a good while now and the food never disappoints. Great tasting food and fantastic value for money. The staff are always fab and really friendly and go above and beyond. We recently celebrated a birthday and the night was perfect ! We will be back again and again !

Went here with family for a birthday meal food was great had haggis balls & pepper sauce for starters then peppered chicken for main, house wine was good would definitely recommend. Staff were pleasant and attentive, would recommend a visit here.

Had a lovely meal with friends this afternoon. Haven't been here for a few years & what a difference. The ambience & service was great & we had a lovely welcome from Dino, Iain & the girls. The fish & chips was the the best I've had we enjoyed all the food. Will definitely be back as all the food coming out of the kitchen looked amazing!

Been here a few times and can’t fault it ! The food and service is always 10/10 from Dino and all the girls , I couldn’t recommend here enough ! My personal fav is the chicken balmoral it’s so tasty 🤤

Avoid at all costs the manager rang to ask me today ‘what I actually wanted’ when I explained I had a function booked and had been in to the premises a few times since Christmas, speaking to his staff on the phone and had emails he hurled abuse at me and said no that means nothing and not to turn up on the day as someone else now has that date. I was sitting in a work meeting and answered as I thought it was my dentist calling back I was mortified as a member of staff asked who that was raising his voice. Glad I found out before a function what he was like as I wouldn’t want my son’s day ruined.

The staff were very friendly and helpful the food was excellent unfortunately for me there were a few stairs with wood on the edges Which I slipped on but it didn't stop me from enjoying the hospitality of the experience if you do visit this establishment mind the steps inside you definitely won't be disappointed with the staff well done mail coach but get the wood off the stairs before someone else slips

A nice place where you can eat really well. I was there with my children and we were all satisfied. We had dinner and then dessert and everyone enjoyed it very much. We left the restaurant full and satisfied, and that's the most important thing. Very nice service. I will come back there and I can recommend this place to everyone.

Lunch visit with family don’t be put off by outside of building which is in need of some TLC as inside won’t disappoint. Restaurant was quiet a very friendly waitress seated us then quickly came for drinks order, our food took about 30mins but that was fine as freshly cooked . Food lovely small problem with 1 order but waitress sorted it out n Dino also came over to explain what had happened great service. We will be back soon.

First time attending the mailcoach , have to say myself and wife were pleasantly surprised. Dino the owner went out of his way to find us a table. It was a short wait to be seated at our table which was fine. Staff and owner Dino were clean , well presented and professional and attentive to our meal requests. Waited about 20mins maybe a touch longer to have our main meal, my wife had steak pie and mash i had the fish and chips . My wife was really happy with hers as was I with the fish ....we both finished our dinner !!. Reading previous messages im aware of what others would have suggested as rude behaviour or strange behaviour from a certain staff member or the owner Dino. From my experience I find this very hard to believe. We didn't have an issue with any staff member or Dino and in fact he made us feel very welcoming. All staff were very friendly , they smiled and didn't rush us at any point. The atmosphere was candlelight on a rustic style table , Place was spotless and clean. If you’re looking for quiet meal and relaxed atmosphere this is the place to go. Another things you don't see anymore How kind and considerate Dino is to his staff. We overheard him asking his staff if they had dinner and if they said no he insisted they go and have some food and he took over there duties. We thought that was absolutely amazing. I have a lot of respect for owners that are kind and take care of their staff and it really shows. I absolutely love this place and definitely will recommend to all.

Had my 2 sisters in town last week for a visit and showed up without a reservation as they were closing up after a busy day . The owner Dino I believe could have easily refused service but he re-opened the kitchen and served us to a fantastic standard. Our experience at the Mailcoach Restaurant was exceptional. The venue was perfect for our funeral party, accommodating 80 attendees flawlessly. Dino and his team went above and beyond, ensuring every detail was meticulously organized. My father’s funeral was in Daldowie Crematorium on the 19th January and afterwards was back at The Mailcoach. After phoning 3 week ago we were invited over by the owner Dino to see the place for ourselves before we booked. We were met by Dino and shown around. We were offered a complimentary drink where my mother had a very nice coffee. Dino the owner went through the packages they offer and we were happy to proceed with booking. The night before Dino called us to make sure everything was still ok for the next day which was a nice touch. On the day Dino and his amazing staff couldn’t have been any better. Kindness, empathy and nothing ever being a problem where paramount, which was great considering it was a very difficult day. Food was excellent, venue was excellent, staff were excellent, we couldn’t have asked for anymore.

We arrived without a booking but had to wait to be seated even though the place was empty. Drink and food arrived in good time but we had no serviettes, nobody checked if our food was ok and pizza was burnt and chicken was chewy. Disappointing experience.

Simply superb. A menu with so much choice, it took us ages to choose! And the food is fresh, homemade and delicious. I'd highly recommend you visit, but make sure you book a table because it's fantastic food. Iain served us on our 2nd visit and was very helpful. It's a really relaxing restaurant and we've been telling all our pals to visit!

Why have an outside eating area and not use it? We were refused to be served food outside yesterday. We had our puppy with us and he’s a bit anxious so didn’t want to take him inside. Plus it was actually dry and sunny! Guys you’ve done us a favour we found the woodend 5 mins along the road from you and they couldn’t have been more welcoming, especially to our pup Charley. Popped in on passing for coffees, to be told "we don't do coffees". Plenty empty tables and conservatory was empty. Manager refused us a few cups of coffee. Have dined here often for 40 years. Certainly won't be back again.

My friend and I visited on the 1st of August as we'd been given this address as a funeral reception location. Unbeknown to us the location was changed and when we arrived both the male & female hosts went above and beyond to help, calling a local taxi, keeping us updated and offering refreshments - what outstanding service! I will definitely recommend this place to anyone as their customer service was absolutely brilliant- they are an asset to the business - thank you!

So, haven't visited in a while and it seems to be getting better each time. The outside looking better without the aged barrels and the function room which is a major asset looking clean and fresh. Still with the extensive menu... Not too big but just enough and a selection of 'daily specials' Always such a friendly and professional staff the owner has especially Rachael.... Been there for a good few years now and has definitely grown over that time. Busy this evening but service and food standards certainly didn't drop. When will we visit next?

Fantastic fresh pub grub, no frozen foods here. Good service and banter, the catch of the day was superb, asked to compliment the chef, John the chef came out had a lovely chat, turns out he specialises in fish and pastry which really show's.

Worst experience in years, called to book a table for 2 for 5pm arrived parked in car park terrible smell with what looks like burst sanitary pipe at rear of building waste running down back yard, went in to restaurant was shown to table for 2 next to a large pile of firewood with spiders crawling over it , ordered drinks and steak pie for 2 , went to use the disabled toilet and was not impressed seems to be getting used as a storage room not very clean needs urgent overhaul washed hands but no where to dry hands as hand dryer not working and no paper towels had to use toilet paper , steak pie was amongst the worst i have tasted ,the best thing about the place was the girls who very nice and pleasant to speak to ,looking at the menu and reading about the owner Dino he needs to pay attention to his business perhaps sell his nice shiny immaculate blue range rover sport and spend some money on toilets and quality of the food ,also there were about a dozen halogen lights on outside and it was day light with sun shining brightly he could make a saving on electricity which would help pay for paper towels in the toilet and perhaps help save the planet, we will def not be back .

I attended this venue after a funeral service with family for sandwiches, sausage rolls and tea/coffee. The group was a small party of less than 30 people and the venue was in good proximity to the crematorium. We were greeted with a friendly service from the waitresses who continued to do an excellent job being very attentive the remainder of the afternoon. On arrival the sandwiches were pre-made and wrapped in cling film and put out on tables, sausage rolls were placed in front of us and tea and coffee and drinks orders taken. The sausage rolls were just ok but not of great quality, however the sandwiches were a compete let down. The fillings were basic, hardly visible to the eye and stingy in their entirety. The mourners passed plates of sandwiches around guessing what the fillings were, often taking a bite then leaving the food as much of the sandwich selection was inedible. Upon leaving, there was piles of sandwiches untouched on every table and presumably put in the bin. The tea and coffee served to the mourners was also cold, one of the mourners ordered a Tia Maria and found ants in her glass! This was highly embarrassing and a disgrace that this quality of food was deemed ok. The relative who had made this booking phoned the manager to complain about this situation. She was advised by the manager that she should not to have ordered the sandwiches as they were expected to be poor and that she would just have to deal with it. No refund or partial refund offered, no apology either. This food was not cheap and a sizeable bill was paid in a timely manner upon leaving. The complete and utter disregard for customer service by this manager as well as the poor quality of sandwiches offered made an already difficult week worse. I would not recommend this venue to anyone, given the proximity to the crematorium its sad to think that another family will be treated like this in the future. Happy to amend and update this review if management wish to contact person who made booking to come to an agreement and apologise.

Went here for a meal which was Lovely before we moved into our house. Then we decided to go for a drink as this is close to the house. however the manager said they don’t just do drink. Can’t believe a pub doesn’t do drinks only even though they have a beer garden. The place looks like a pub. Even if it was a restaurant why would you refuse drinks only very strange. They must lose a fortune if they refuse drinks all the time.

Then we decided to go for a drink as this is close to the house and it was a lovely day however the manager said they don’t just do drinks only. I can’t believe a pub doesn’t do drinks only. Excellent customer service with excellent home cooked fresh food. Great staff and service. Ian is a gem and always brings a smile with him. The overall experience is excellent. Its not fast food so dont go expecting to be rushed. Had several visits and its always relaxed and enjoyable. Well worth a try..

If I could give this a zero star rating I would, I visited this restaurant with my sister and daughter and was greeted at the door by the owner who asked if we had booked we told him no, his reply was we are to busy, there was only 3 tables occupied at this point in the full restaurant, I told him we wouldn’t be long as we had somewhere else to go, his response was he still couldn’t accommodate us, his whole attitude towards us was very rude and disrespectful! We left totally embarrassed the way he spoke and treated us in front of the other diners!! We will never revisit or recommend this place to others!

First time I have been here in years outwith a wake! We wanted a nice chicken salad in this hot weather, wasnt on the menu. Out for a walk with our dog,we decided to stop at the mailcoach for a couple of pints.This has been a regular occurrence when the weather permits Today,however,was a real disappointment.Iwent into the bar to order drinks for the garden to be told the garden was closed.I then asked if we could bring the dog in? The manager wandered up to an empty table at the far end of the pub.+There were 2 people in the whole bar!He then asked if it was for food or drinks?I answered,oh ,just drinks! Sometimes we have a drink or two and decide to eat after all.He then said, we're not open for just drinks! IT'S A PUB!WIWill not be returning.

We went for an evening meal whilst on holiday. The restaurant has an interesting themed interior design. The manager was very helpful with suggestions on the menu choices. The food was well presented, well cooked and good value. The staff were all nicely dressed and pleasant. Recommended.

Booked a table for this evening for 6.30pm. Arrived in torrential rain at 6.40pm to be told they had given our table away. Poor poor show. They had my contact number if they were so busy that they needed my table. After telling my daughter and I that he had given our table away he walked away to serve another customer and left us standing. At this point we left. Never to return. I have given 1 star because it was not possible to leave 0
