Fantastic shop. My parents always go here and they love it. I had a venison pie and it was beautiful, one of the nicest pies I've ever had. Total bargain at Ā£2.20 too. The lady serving was really friendly and helpful as well.

Pleasant staff served us our coffee and melt in your mouth Croissants. Menu has a range of light meals all cooked fresh.

We needed reservations but stopped in a little early and the maitre d' accommodated us. The food was fine but burgers in Scotland are not a match for Texas beef. The views from the windows were magnificent in the evening.

There is no doubting that the Taybank has considerable charm, the bar area exudes old-time allure and, coupled with the traditional music, is a great place for a pint. The restaurant, unfortunately, is another matter entirely. The food, apart from being grossly overpriced, proved to be largely inedible with two of our tables plates being returned to the kitchen uneaten and exchanged for cheese and biscuits. Enjoy a pint of Cheeky Chappie ale in the bar, by all means, but my advice would be to go elsewhere to eat. You have been warned!

Cozy, rustic, highland hotel with friendly staff, real log fire, excellent breakfast and great location. We stayed for two nights in the autumn and were kept warm, well fed, and slept well. The ā€œrusticā€œ descriptor refers to quirky layouts and ancient bowed floors that give this place some character, and also to the wonderful log fire and leather sofas in the foyer. We ate in the bar one evening, sadly one of the meals was under the heat lamp for too long and was all but inedible (this small problem was handled excellently by the waiting staff). The other plate was delicious. Iā€™m giving four stars because we enjoyed our stay, and could probably return again, but I couldnā€™t wholeheartedly recommend it to all of our friends.

Ordered vegan food and found what seemed like animal part in it. They insisted it was part of a mushroom which it clearly wasnā€™t. This made my wife feel sick and therefore couldnā€™t accept the offer of another meal. Offers of drinks etc werenā€™t acceptable as this had ruined our evening. I had to argue for any reduction in the bill and was threatened with the police if I didnā€™t pay. Appalling customer service.

Stayed here last week for three days. The owner and the staff of the place were very welcoming. The food we had in the bombay club was very tasty and freshly prepared. All the credit of the good food goes to Mandeep Singh, Jasbir Singh and their team. I would love to visit this place again.

We spent 3 nights in the smallest hotel room I've ever been in. It was a misery, my husband and I hated having to stay there. We asked for a change, but we're told they were full. This was in the cottages behind the hotel. I wrote to our tour operator and suggested they never book those rooms again. The rest of the property was very nice and the location was fantastic.Service & food were good. Inverness, Scotland

Avoid at all costs, I asked for a carrot cake to be heated( I have done this numerous times before) first guy said we canā€™t (I think he was training- so no problem) other guy said yes let me take it for you. The coffee took 5 to 10 minutes so carrot cake was cold, I asked for a re-heat and was refused after spending Ā£18 plus for 2 coffees and 2 cakes. He said the chef recommended it cold - I canā€™t eat cold cake as itā€™s too dry and I have no saliva due to cancer treatment - do I feel like explaining this, no. I was here to collect a winter coat, I treat myself to something every year, never will I frequent House of bruer again, extreme reaction ? - No. I said to coffee guy Iā€™ll speak to manager he replied ā€œgood luck then sirā€ Iā€™m fuming.
