Visited this week and decided to have lunch. Everything looked lovely. Unfortunately the macaroni although every tasty was warm verging on cold. I have eaten here on a few occasions over the years and this has always been the case. The plates are warm but cool down very quickly, which didn't help. The food was put under a heat lamp but no idea why as didn't heat the food. The veg, chips and potatoes were the same. I was there at 12 so I thought the food would not have had time to cool down.

This is a brief review of my experience. It was Saturday 2nd November and my wife decided to have a spot of lunch at the Glendoick garden centre cafe. Upon arriving the queue was not too bad and the wait only 20 mins or so. My wife ordered the fish and chips and I ordered a cheeseburger. approx 20 mins later the food arrived. My cheese burger was the most rubbery disc of processed, well I don't know what, shall I politely say it was not edible. The fish on the other hand was fresh and quite palatable. The staff thanked me for bringing the matter to their attention. Upon arriving back home I felt most unwell.

Stayed at hotel and had dinner there both nights. We both went for burgers the first night ( chicken and beef) they were both delicious, well cooked and filling. Second night we both had the Steak and Ale pie with mash, this was also delicious and piping hot. I couldn't finish mine and I like to eat! Staff were very helpful and friendly and service was excellent.

Was extremely impressesd with the Compass Cafe in Tiso Perth. Stopped off for lunch, of which there was a great choice, and very friendly staff. The chicken sandwich with mango and tomato chutney was delicious. Enjoyed it so much went 3 days later to the Glasgow Tiso and was just as good. Good selection of cakes also. Bonus was it is dog friendly.

Restaurant was closed. Alternative provision was a coffee van near the car park. The barrister seemed to be operating at half-speed. Perhaps the cold had got to him.

Price list on board outside were not in force at restaurant. They were much higher. When I asked about higher prices, staff said that the price list up on board was old price list. We said the price shown has to be honoured. The staff member took offence and thumped down the payment device , then walked off in a big huff. Poor service for customers, and child like behaviour from untrained staff. Very rude also.

Really good traditional bar. Beers superb and very pleasant/very efficient barmaid. Very welcoming and good at her job. This would be my local if I stayed in Perth.

The cafe has a quirky interior. We stopped for a coffee - was ok but weak for our taste. I also had a cheese and pickle toasty which was very tasty and came with a simple side salad. The staff were very friendly and efficient. We felt the price was a little high.

We had an enjoyable lunch at the Bein Inn. My partner said his burger was good, his purple coleslaw looked appealing and I have to say his chips (something neither of us is fond of) were probably the best we've had. I ordered a chicken fajita, which was the most unusual I've ever had: *everything*, including the rice (either pilau or basmati, not long grain as I'd expect), wrapped up in one big dod with three sauces on the side. It tasted fine and was filling, but looked tragi-comical. The young waitress warned us they had no avocados, but on questioning thought they may have guacamole; however it was substituted with some kind of chutney, which was ok if unconventional. On the plus side, it all seemed to have actually been cooked rather than banged into a microwave, which we appreciated. The service was good and friendly, and our food arrived in a timely manner, noting that we arrived at the beginning of Friday lunchtime when it was quiet. We're not in a hurry to go back, as the menu was limited and a bit overpriced, at least for my weird offering at £17. There seemed to be some renovation work going on in the entrance area, all good, but didn't add to the ambience. We'd originally looked into this for a Sunday lunch, which seems popular with others, would possibly try it for that in future.

We liked this hotel a lot. Staff were friendly. The room was clean, spacious and modern. The location is nice, with some good walks nearby with beautiful views over the loch and river. The dinner we had was the only slight disappointment: the two kinds of steak we had were both barely lukwarm and not very tasty. The rest of the meal was ok, the service again friendly and effective. Breakfast was excellent as far as the Continental offering went, we did not try any cooked dishes. All in all, a pleasant experience.

I would give two stars for the food and one star for table etiquette. We were unimpressed when we sat down to a table setting of basic low-quality, stamped-out flatware with sharp edges. Three of us ordered meat (duck, pork and beef), the other fish. No alternative, appropriate knives were brought to suit the food, nor was the cutlery replaced after the starter. There were splotches of dried food debris on the underside of all the placemats, which apparently never gets wiped off when they are stacked. The food itself was okay, but portions were on the small side and overpriced for what it was, e.g. two slices of duck breast, 1" slice of sea bass, very little vegetable to accompany. The chicken liver parfait starter was good but came with only three small slices of toasted baguette and bread was £6 extra. There was an abundance of wait staff operating on high-speed settings. We had trouble understanding what kept so many staff on the run (literally) given the restaurant was not full and could have been disruptive were it a romantic dinner for two. We just watched the show. Overall, a four-star restaurant should pay more attention to detail, quality and cleanliness, if it wants to have a four-star reputation.
