Blair Castle Tullibardine Restaurant in Perth & Kinross

Restaurant was closed. Alternative provision was a coffee van near the car park. The barrister seemed to be operating at half-speed. Perhaps the cold had got to him.

Very short staffed, long queues, little choice, overpriced. Been before but will not be rushing back.

I know that there are pressure on the hospitality sector currently but the restaurant here was all poorly staffed. One person seemed to be staffing the hot drinks, tills and very thing else for a large queue of customers, and was frequently then leaving the tills unmanned, and getting orders wrong. In the end I gave up and left the queue.

Initially I loved the look of the haggis and pork sausage roll. Plenty of content, thin pastry, lovely. But on eating it, I felt disappointed. It had obviously been kept warm for quite a while, and the base was too hard. A bit strange as I chose it just after 12:00 when they started selling food. Fiendly staff

We have visited a number of castle restaurants on our travels and often leave great reviews. It’s always lovely to sit in the cafe after a castle tour and enjoy good home cooked food. I left feeling very deflated from our visit. It feels like trying to be too fancy and failing miserably. No kids menu and although the menu selection for adults looks ok it really wasn’t on the day we visited. I had curried beef on potato wedges. The curry was dried out on top of an over crisped half of a baked potato. It was also cold. Stone cold. I asked for it to be heated up and the server seemed taken aback. It was heated up and the tray of other curried wedges swiftly removed! Really disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend.

Very surprised to find a tourist cafe with zero gluten free options . The only thing available was a packet of Crisps.

Had lunch outside on the restaurant patio on a superb sunny day. The food (in my case) was Haggis with usual "neeps and tatties". Quality, taste and quantity were truly excellent. There was the usual friendly service in the restaurant, which was typical of the rest of the visit to the Castle. Thank you for an exciting informative day topped by an excellent lunch.

Having toured the castle which was again lovely(visited many timed) we decided to have lunch - My husbands casserole was virtually cold and my mac. cheese was inedible, staff were called and my money returned, this didn't make up for missing lunch.

This restaurant serves tasty afternoon tea, very welcome after tramping round the castle. Very friendly service and views of the grounds were appreciated.

After a tour of the castle we stopped for real bean made coffee. It was fantastic. Friendly smiling staff and good amenities.

Nach dem interessanten Besuch des Schlosses und dem Strollen durch den sehr gepflegten Hercules Garten war es an der Zeit für einen Espresso und etwas Hausgebäck. Der Espresso war perfekt, das Hausgebäck für unseren Geschmack etwas gar süss.

We visited Blair Castle yesterday to look round the garden and grounds. The weather was miserable so we visited this restaurant for a bowl of warming soup and bread. The soup was described as “Blair Castle Soup Of The Day, Wild Mushroom”. We assumed, wrongly that the soup was homemade. The soup was quite simply disgusting so I took it back to ask about its provenance and was told it was indeed from a tin. The soup cost £4.95 a bowl, what a rip off! Please do not mislead the public like this and why can you not make homemade soup?

I have something here at the Tullibardine a few times each year and on occasion bring one of our small group tours in to eat as well. We had never had afternoon tea here before and I decided it was time we did, so we visited the other day. Afternoon tea was refreshingly served in an upturned chambered drawer which I liked very much. Everything was very tasty and we had sandwiches, savouries, scones, shortbread and other goodies! It was a delightful experience!

My husband and I went here for lunch, We had the soup and a sandwich each, the soup was lukewarm and as for the sandwich, the bread was stale and inedible. We highlighted this to the restaurant staff who were not interested in what we had to say at all, the assistant manager came over to speak to us. He needn't have bothered as his comments were very offensive and unacceptable and he didn't listen to anything we had to say, He pretty much tried to start an argument. My husband and I walked out and will never be back there again!!

We had a lovely lunch in very clean and bright surroundings in the castle restaurant. The soup and panini was delicious and the staff very friendly. Thetoilet facilities were spotlessly clean.

The cafe was disappointing. Coffee was poor and scone was dry and overpriced. A letdown during an otherwise very enjoyable visit.

Went to desk prior to going into restaurant, two woman sitting glued to computer!! Didn’t look up! Lunchtime stop, immaculate restaurant with nice helpful staff at restaurant! Good selection of food and baking. Only criticism was the food was on the cool side.

After sampling the catering at several castles on this visit to the UK, I was not expecting much. What a pleasant surprise I had at Tullibardine Restaurant. I had the venison casserole with roasted potatoes and green beans. Excellent! My aunt had the braised beef and it also was excellent. Both meats were exceptionally tender and flavorful. The vegetables were fresh and the potatoes delicious! We complimented the staff and found out that our chefs today were Kelly and George. Well done!

Although it was busy the service was smooth and efficient. We only had coffee and a scone but it was very good. Apart from that we cannot comment further.

Lovely setting, obviously. Service not great, and confused at times. Felt a little like we were being told off for ordering a meal and asking what came with it. Gravy turns out to be scooped out from the sausage casserole!

Just hated it, poor lay out, poor food and service. The scone was the poorest quality. Furniture hard. Service slow and dull. Best avoided.

We stopped here for a cold drink and a yummy cream cake after wandering round the castle and grounds. There are seats inside and out and was quiet as it was after lunch. the menu was full of sweet and savoury items but the cream cakes stood out as the most attractive thing at the time. The staff member was very friendly and we enjoyed watching a peacock strutting around the outside area whilst having our food.

The restaurant looks relatively new and moderately bright and on sunny days there is a pleasant terrace. The food, however, disappointed. The hot food under the heating lamps looked dry and over cooked while the cakes hardly appealed. I will say that the shortbread was fine. Coffees were poor. Service was slow and at times staff were missing from the cash desk. No sign of managers.

The restaurant is set up cafeteria style for quick access to food and drink. It works well for the bus groups. Nothing special but convenient.

Meal was very average - much of it seemed to be industrial catering food. Coffee not great. Disappointing end to what was a very enjoyable visit to the castle.

Dopo una brevissima attesa abbiamo degustato una buona zuppa del giorno, due baked potatoes e due the con scones. Servizio veloce e personale gentile (da mancia).

The castle is one of the most interesting we have visited with plenty to see. The gardens were looking splendid in their autumn colours. I was disappointed with the choice in the restaurant and thought it quite expensive.

Visited the Castle then stopped off for a drink as we came out enjoyed a brew with one of there home made cakes meals looked good so next time will have to try one

Après notre visite de ce beau château sous la pluie, nous avons pris une boisson chaude au sous-sol dans un endroit aménagé récemment dans une extension. large choix de boissons, de grignotages mais aussi de plats typiques et pas trop chers.

Un moderno restaurante/cafetería y muy limpia y fresca. Sólo tomamos té en esta ocasión, pero la comida y pasteles deliciosos parecía: toda la comida es casera en los locales. El restaurante es muy luminoso y ventilado; tomamos nuestro té en la terraza y nos sentamos en el cálido sol caliente/. Agua en una gran urna de cristal con rodajas de limón dentro está disponible para personas a ayudarse a sí mismos, que era un toque agradable en un día de calor.

Después de ver el castillo de Blair, nos decidimos por refrescos antes vimos los jardines, muy limpio, espacioso, moderno restaurante. Buena comida casera a un precio razonable. Personal muy eficiente. Bollos eran deliciosos,

Gran scones, y un lugar adorable, pero el té y café donde terrible. El personal es encantador, y la ubicación es magnífica, que creo que contar. No hemos probado la comida caliente, parecía delicioso. Los bocadillos están bien, nada especial.

A much smarter restaurant than it used to be, a good number of tables and plenty of good homemade food to eat. Reasonable prices. A nice way to end the tour of the castle before heading out around the grounds.

We visited the castle as a coach party excursion. Having walked around and around and even up with ding stairs to one of the turrets we were pleased to sit down for a coffee and a rest.Modern decor in a new extension to the castle. Plenty of tables and chairs.

To be fair we visited out of season so only small selection of cakes on offer, coffee ok cake so so.

On our visit (which incorporated a tour of the castle) we partook of scone and coffee which we sat and enjoye in a sunny position in the rounded bay. Light meals are on offer also.

We just had afternoon tea here but it seems equipped for a lunch type meal as well. home baking s very good and servcie [self service] is good too

I visit Blair Castle several times a year and often stop into the restaurant for tea and a cake. This time around we brought our small group in for lunch and we all enjoyed our meal. I had the mince and tatties which was yummy! We will return here again and again as we visit the castle!

The cafeteria at Blair Castle seves a variety of hot and cold food, although I must admit when we arrived (around 1pm) the hot food looked like itnhad been standing there for quite some time and was very unappealing. We settled for some sandwiches, tea and a scone, and whilst they were adequate, they definitely werent above ordinary, and we left a bit dissapointed. The cafe itself was relatively spacious and clean, and obviously caters for the buses mostly.

We had lunch here and the meal was excellent and so much beter than we expected. The coronation chicken was delicious as was the jacket potato and salad. The restaurant was bright and clean and the service helpful and friendly. Highly recommend. Delicious cake and tea too.

I visit Blair Castle regularly and have often had lunch in the restaurant. On this particular occasion I ordered a baked potato with the cheese and coleslaw option which was to be served with salad.My partnber ordered the venison casserole.The baked poato took a long time to arrive and the casserole was barely warm. Ontasting the potato filling the coleslaw tasted/smelt like paint thinners. There was a lot of it plus couscous and potato salad. I scraped what I could off the potato so I could eat the potato as I was hungry and then took the plate back to complain about the coleslaw. The member of staff took it back to the kitchen and offered me a tea or coffee and tgat was it! The meal had cost £6.50. I went to the cashier and she said I had eaten a lot of the dish - only the potato and couscous and a little salad as I was hungry, she reluctabtly gave me the £6.50 back. A I was still hungry but not wanting any of their other lunchtime dishesI just opted for a piece of shortbread which was £1.75 for a soft pretty tasteless shortbread offering. The standards of this restaurant have deteriorated considerably in food and service.

Perhaps it was my mistake going in towards the end of the day 3.30-4ish but bearing in mind the Horse Trails were on and there were plenty of visitors I thought there was a very disappointing array of food available. I found a Chicken Coronation sandwich, the filling was pleasant but the bread was far too thick and tasteless. The staff were obviously desperate to get home and certainly not over helpful. I would not recommend but did enjoy the castle.

Dopo un giro all'interno del Blair Castle, il quale è abbastanza impegnativo se lo si vuole godere a fondo, non occorre spostarsi di molto per mangiare bene.Il ristorante è esattamente all'uscita (che strategia) giusto dopo il gift shop, ed è un ottimo coronamento del tutto. Ampia scelta di pietanze per pranzo e per sfizio, gusti classici scozzesi, porzioni generose e gusti notevoli. Le sale sono ampie, difficile che si trovi il pienone insopportabile perché gli orari di apertura sono molto estesi quindi si evita abbastanza bene la calca da "tutti in una volta" e personale cortese, disponibile.E se si è già pranzato, un salto per un bel dolce e una tazza di té ci sta, assolutamente.

"Let's have a coffee...before we do the gardens"....turned into " is it that time already..?"We'd taken in what we could in our internal Castle viewing in nearly 3 hours and this looked a likely venue for a light lunch ...And it was a good decision as the food was fresh and local and very tasty.... and very reasonably priced... And of course we had a fine outlook..

After walking through the castle, the restaurant provides good choices of tasty food. The bagpipe player stopped by so we had live music (though he was outdoors). All in all a good finish to the castle.

Fantastic food and so much to choose from. We all handsome thing different to eat .. No complaints about anything thoroughly enjoyed it . Staff were lovely and very helpful

We expected cold sandwiches and discovered great hot dishes, like Venison Shepherds pie and Cumberland pie. And great desserts as well. I nice surprise.

We went for the Festive Lunch, hosted in the Castle Ballroom. It promised much, in a lovely setting, full of history, paintings and countryside activities. Given that the Ballroom is quite expansive, the table for four people, was minute. Then when filled with Xmas Crackers (which were devoid of novelties) there was no room to keep everything on the table, so we discarded the name plaque. This caused much chagrin as the staff could not find the proper table !! The soup (without the promised bread/roll) was devoid of taste. The Scottish Salmon Parcel was lovely. The young staff were eager to please. The older staff, were missing Festive Cheer. The remainder of the food was edible, but lacked any form of presentation. It was best described as a School Meal, dished up by a "Dinner Lady" on non descript plates, that ideally suited the food !!! If you did not like Sauvignon wine, then too bad !!! A great opportunity to showcase the best of Scottish Food and Hospitality missed. But they did charge well for the experience, maybe they should show some Festive Spirit and donate a proportion of the cost to local charities. Might be an idea to employ a manager and chef for future events.

After visiting the castle and before we wandered the gardens we called in for lunch. The food is all very 'home cooked' and caters to all tastes whilst keeping things simple. It's the perfect place for a break and was pretty full when we were there. Portions aren't small either.

We visited this after looking round the gardens and the cosy and comfortable surroundings were most welcome. This is a self service restaurant but the selection was good with traditional meals such as cottage pie as well as vegetarian, pasta etc. Our party had the haggis pasty and cottage pie both of which were lovely. They came with new potatoes and a selection of veg, the only slight down side being the potatoes were piping hot but the veg was on the cool side. There are jugs of water and glasses for you to help yourself as well as a good selection of sauces and jams etc which you did not have to pay extra for. We finished our lunch with Scottish pancakes which were large, well browned and gorgeous! It was so big we ended up taking half of it home with us and the jam was so nice I bought a jar from the shop.So unlike some places which take advantage of a captured audience I think the food, service and surrounds made this great value for money. They just need to find a better way of keeping the veg warm at the hot plate!

Just had a sandwich lunch but it was of good quality with a nice cup of coffee. We thought it quite good value for money compared with the coffee and scone we had elsewhere.

Blair Castle is a must-see for anyone interested in the way the lords and ladies lived. Fascinating place. Well worth the price.

A rainy day when visited, selected beef stew - very tasty, excellent dish. A little pricey but worth it for quality of food, service and location. Only had lunch here, am sure dinner would be worth a return visit.

Good selections, easy eating. Choice of some alcoholic beverages. Outdoor seating area, very nice with the warm day we had. Also, inside seating. Very casual

Just dreadful. Food is over priced and tasteless. Rather disappointing I must admit. Could have been much better and should have been much better.

Located within Blair CastleWe had a very nice meal in the restaurant, fish very nicely cooked.It was not cheap , but it was very nice.The question you have to ask - would I eat there again -the answer is yes.

Мы были там под вечер, незадолго до закрытия, народу было мало, зато чай и десерты были прекрасны. После касс есть специальное место, где помимо ложек/вилок/салфеток можно выбрать мед и варенье в чаю, очень вкусно. Но, честно говоря, больше всего нам понравлся вкус местной воды, налитой в кувшины для общего пользования - как нам сказали, вода была из колодца замка и на мой взгляд, это была самая вкусная вода в Шотландии - никакого сравнения с невнятным нечто из бутылок.

pour un bon petit repas vite fait ou plus gourmand, idéal avant ou après la visite du château. dehors ou dedans à choix.

nice sandwiches and lovely stew made with local Highland beef. Good range of gluten-free bakes (we nearly missed the other - extensive - home bakes)
