Mediterranean fusion with Scottish cuisine! Very nice atmosphere, rustic cottage feel. The promise of Mediterranean food didn’t quite deliver, but the simple menu provided ample food and good flavours. Prices were as expected for a touristy restaurant, but desserts were a bit excessive.

We only stayed one night, but we wish it had been longer because it was an amazing stay!! The castle was gorgeous, the staff was amazing, and the food…we had one of our best meals of the trip at Sandemans. All of the dishes were delicious, but the whole experience was even better because the sommelier was so knowledgable and took our meal to a whole other level. Also, the spa was such a nice bonus. We would highly recommend staying here!

Come hungry as you'll leave extremely full of delicious food! We had an extremely tasty meal here for a group of 7 and staff were extremely friendly and attentive, making our only regret that our stomachs weren't bigger so that we could eat more! 2 of our party had to unexpectedly leave quickly, but the team were fantastic about it, very quickly packing up the food and having it ready to go for them! One of the best meals in Perth, and definitely the best Thai food I've had outside (and likely including) of Thailand!

Food was truly fabulous. We had two fantastic pasta meals and the lemon desert tart was just out of this world! Staff and service excellent and they were brilliant with our pug, Hercules. We were just staying near there after breaking up our journey home to Newcastle and we're so pleased to have found this real gem. Loved it and we'll certainly be back.

New owners now call this place Dunkeld’s. Looks nice and the cheeses in the deli to purchase and take away are reasonably priced. Everything else is way overpriced. They mill their own flour, cure their own bacon, bake bread and scones on the premises so they have zero buy in and transport costs for artisan produce from elsewhere. Why then is it £9.50 for some grilled bacon on a sandwich? £9.50 for a very small cappuccino and scone - when queried the response was that it wastes a lot of cream to make their own clotted cream! As much as the food is nice, it is twice the price of other places in town who also make their own bread. The coffee is served almost cold too. Also got moaned at when we sat at an empty table after standing waiting to be seated for several minutes with an abundance of staff ignoring us, then the staff commented to each other that ‘these people just sat down’. Rude beyond belief, there are no reservations so what is the issue with sitting at empty tables in a cafe where the staff clearly couldn’t be bothered to seat you there. The new owners have pitched this place at those who want to be able to say they pay a lot for a coffee and scone and think it makes them look good and for the unsuspecting tourist who will only be there once and then just get caught out by the massive prices. How will it get through its first winter when the tourists have gone! Also there is. I menu to view or prices until after you have sat down. We saw people get up and leave - perhaps they had just looked at the prices when given a menu!

Delicious home-made food, x 2 steak pie, was best I have had, loads of tender meat and plenty gravey, macaroni cheese & Katsu Chicken, stick toffee puddings & after eight cheese cake 😋 all staff friendly and attentive, busy wee country pub with a good atmosphere and I found it very reasonably priced for a meal for 4, highly recommend, we will definitely be back.

Popped along to try Posthouse having seen great reviews. Friendly staff and busy wee cafe. Sat outside in covered pod. We had avo smash (avocado lots of it on sourdough with tomatoes and two poached eggs with sciracha ) absolutely delicious, fantastic. Traditional cooked breakfast unfortunately not so fantastic, well below average. How one thing can be so good and the other so mediocre is strange. Two dry bits of bacon. One small sausage. Dried out pieces of black pudding and haggis. Potato scone -fine Tomato ok Beans and sourdough toast. Two fried eggs were great. £10.95 I expect a freshly cooked breakfast. Which this wasn't, bacon and haggis, black pudding obviously been sitting in oven. So sorry, a mixed review for me. Still 4 stars, think maybe I was just unlucky today.

Can't fault this place - food was exceptional (best vegetarian food i've had in Scotland). The service was excellent and the place itself is gorgeous. What other place can have portraits of Ragnar Lothbrok AND the Last Supper on the wall? Flawless. Effervescent.
