A fantastic brunch today. I had been given an itison voucher for my birthday for 2 brunch dishes and either 2 hot drinks or non alcoholic wine. We opted for an Americano and a tea, fantastic big cups, and an apple juice for my son. Ordered the Gourie Goucho and the travelling Scotsman for eating and my son insisted on Mac cheese which the kitchen were very accommodating with, even at 10am! All food was delicious and you can tell the quality in the ingredients as well as the banter. A fantastic place, where you you wait for quality fresh food. Brilliant, quirky spot.

I was bowled over by this wonderful find. The decor is quirky but homely. The staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The food was fresh, superb quality, extremely tasty and great value for money. I'm glad I live 60+ miles away or I'd be in all the time. I can highly recommend The Pickled Peacock

Many times I have been to the Pickled Peacock and it never disappoints. Went there for lunch with my mum and the food was delicious. Had the Steak foccacia which was on specials and I could have had the same again!!Everyone is so friendly and it's great to go somewhere knowing they use the best Scottish produce, the staff are amazing and its LOCAL!! Finished off with some cake and coffee, again sooo good and the coffee is great. Definitely worth a visit to anyone looking to try some delicious food and drinks 😊

Stopped off for a coffee as we had heard good things about this place. First impressions were 'wow, this place looks quirky', in a good way. Found a table and waitress brought us the menus, but didn't mention anything about specials or what soup was on. We were only going to have coffee and a cake, so it wasn't a huge issue for us. I went inside to see what cakes & scones they had and could only see one cake and some scones on the counter (later saw the fridge at the back with more cakes). Coffee was very good, scones were not so, and given that they made fruit wines on site, the jam was the cheapest of cheap and just awful!! The main dishes that were coming out all looked good, so maybe we just picked the wrong thing.

We arrived just before our booking at 1pm. Ordered bottle of wine and placed order by 1.05pm! Still no food at 1.50pm and we were booked on the tour at 2.15 🥲. Spoke to staff and asked if it would be easier to order something else that was easier to make and was informed our burgers had just gone in oven! They advised they'd fry them! Can out shortly after and cut into burger - raw all the way through and oozing blood 🤢. Sent back! One bottle of wine down and no food... can't express how disappointed we were. 😕

We were meeting up with family in Errol and found this place on line, it was difficult to find a menu on line but we needn’t had worried about the fare, it was interesting and delicious. The lamb flatbread was lovely and only thing that would improve it would be a couple of pomegranate jewels to add a touch of sweetness! They were very accommodating with being dog friendly. Great little cafe attached to the winery!

Delightful treasure off the beaten path. Quirky and creative cafe with delicious wines and ciders sold in the adjoining shop. Small but well selected menu.

Lovely lunch with my daughter. We sat outside as we had the dog with us. Quick, friendly service and water was provided for our dog. Food was delicious! Only let down were the toilets. Bit too rustic and not particularly clean.

Haggis sausage roll but no sausage in it? Was at the winery so went in to the cafe. Ordered a mocha and on the specials board haggis sausage roll and salad. Served prompt. Mocha was good, strong and hot. Haggis sausage roll was actually haggis wrapped in thin layer of pastry, to look like a small sausage roll. Absolutely no sausage or sausage meat in it. Why mention sausage in the description? Did say to the waiter the food was alright, no sausage in the haggis sausage roll. He acknowledged that there wasnt. To my palate even though there was salad and a tiny amount of pickle on the plate it was stodgy and dry to eat. Did say to him I would not order that again.

I’ve been searching for a lovely place for lunch for hours and finally found one, we were very excited to try the food as the photos of food on instagram & Facebook looked amazing! We called earlier to ask for a table and after a conversation with a very awkward man we booked it! We were seated in a conservatory on a sofa, it looks very cosy but unfortunately the crumbs were all over the sofa and table wasn’t too clean either along with a snail residue on the rug! We were asked if our doggy wants a bowl of water which was really nice! Whilst ordering drinks, we asked the waiter (I think he’s a manager) which wine is similar to Sauvignon blanc and he had completely no idea.. we found it a bit disappointing since there’s a winery… We also asked for a lager and received a cider instead.. but didn’t want to make a fuss about it because the cider was nice enough We ordered a toastie with a mug of soup, olives, artisan bread & cheeseboard The soup arrived first before anything else, then after few minutes we received the artisan bread which was a focaccia. Soup was lovely, bread was nice, but those gordal olives are so gorgeous by themselves they don’t need any extras. Anyway we enjoyed the starters, but the soup should’ve been served with the toastie not as a starter ( as it was ordered with as per menu) …. Then we had our mains - and this is what really disappointed both of us and we felt like it was total waste of money and I actually started to feel bad I’ve picked this place for lunch! The cheeseboard was a big disappointment… I knew I won’t eat either a goat cheese or blue cheese but that’s fine because I do give them to my partner but the rest of the cheeses was just not nice and very similar in taste. Also the cheeseboard arrived without the “artisan bread”( as stated in a menu) The cheeses were served on long but narrow board which was uncomfortable to eat from as everything was falling off!! My partner had to come and ask for it and we received … a focaccia.. definitely not a bread which could be used for a cheeseboard. Everything was just falling apart and it was messy. The pickled onions were really good, but that’s about it. We ate quite a bit of it but honestly that’s only because we were starving! Then my partner opened a toastie and it just looked and tasted cheap I’ve tried a bit of a bread he had and it wasn’t fresh at all. Then the coleslaw was really warm and tasteless. The salad if you can call it that - had cucumbers which were cut hours and hours ago, just inedible ( started to dry out) Everything looked lovely but unfortunately the taste doesn’t live up to the photos No one even bothered to ask us if food is okay or if we need anything else… won’t be coming back

Tasty food with very unique menu items. My daughter had the pulled spiced brisket and I had the most amazing soup (can’t remember the name but was like a cauliflower cheese type smooth soup) - if the owners read this I’d love to be reminded of the ingredients of the soup last Sunday 😂 Lovely outdoor area although table was slightly too low for eating, but still manageable. Very good service, not much wait at all. Loved the music being played too. Price for both of us for lunch and drinks was approx £25 which I think is reasonable these days. Will definitely be back, love that the dishes are unique and not your usual cafe meals of paninis and chips! Quite happy to pay slightly more for good quality fresh ingredients!

We had lunch in this lovely quirky restaurant before going on the wine tour at the winery. We were warmly greeted by a friendly waitress who looked after us very well (sorry I didn't get your name) The food was very tasty and well presented. We all had different choices from the menu and enjoyed them all. Service was great. Meal set us up very nicely for going on the wine tour at the winery. Thank you all at The Pickled Peacock. My second visit to Scotland in a month and my second meal at this fabulous restaurant. The food was tasty and beautifully presented. We sat and watched the care in which the chef prepared the meals meticulously placing each item on the plate. Didn’t think that they could better the meal I had on my last visit. But they did. Can’t wait to come back again. Wish they had another place in Wales

Wow, we were looked after so well at a celebration for my friend's 40th. We made delicious and creative cocktails (each with a fun twist), the table was beautifully decorated and the food divine. We also enjoyed learning about the winery and foraging cocktail ingredients. I would not hesitate to recommend for a special occasion (or any occasion... the 7 of us are already thinking about when we can come back!) Unique setting and fabulous staff. Out of a variety of options for celebrating a special birthday, we are all agreed we are so glad we chose this. Thank you to all the staff that day. You really made it a memorable day.

The Pickled Peacock is an absolutely first class venue. We were able to stay here in our Camper van and combined dinners, lunches and breakfasts with a trip to the winery which shares the site. The food was amazing - unique and gorgeous. The staff were brilliant. There was a live band playing which added to the atmosphere. The produce used is locally sourced and the management and staff want to be really proud of what they have achieved. We travelled around 175 miles to especially visit and we can’t wait to return.

Wow this place is something special As soon as I arrived I could feel the steady buzz of energy emenating from the decor, the ambience and the staff. It got me in the feels for real. We sat in the garden room/conservatory. I wanted to sit in the tree house decking but was outvoted. Dog friendly and the staff were all really good at their job. Everyone had burgers as recommended by the plumber, I had a salad but it was not just any salad, it was bursting with flavour colours and goodness. I met the owner Linsey on the decking where we ended up spending the whole afternoon, necking the wine, and acting like old friends. I may of had one or 3 glasses too many.. The only negative is that we live so far away, I've been in hospitality my whole career and know this is a really special place which is loved by its caretakers. I wish the absolute best for this wee secret tree house hideaway

We stayed over at the hotel on a Sunday and had dinner within the restaurant. The hotel staff were fantastic (Blake deserves special recognition - thank you!), and our room was well equipped, clean and comfortable. The hotel is located centrally so it’s easy for access to local amenities. The food in the restaurant was excellent and great value. The place was buzzing so we were so lucky to have booked in advance. The locals clearly enjoy the restaurant and made for a wonderful atmosphere. I highly recommend this place to anyone for meals, drinks and stays.

The location, the restaurant, the staff and the food are all excellent. My partner and I had a truly wonderful Sunday lunch and each dish (cheese souffle, John Dory and blueberry pana cotta) worthy of 10 out of 10. scores. My only concern is that the 25% increase in the price may deter future customers.
