Travelling up th A9 to Inverness we were looking for somewhere to stop for lunch. Found this Inn and upon reading reviews and looking at the pictures we decided to book a table. The lady who answered the phone was friendly and accommodating. Arrived in the sunshine, greeted with great warmth and shown to our table, very comfortable, we had the chicken stuffed with garlic and the lamb shank All I can say was it was one of the best lunches I have had for a wee while Thank you and would highly recommend and will be back.

I would just like to let you know how much we enjoyed our visit today, and especially the restaurant. The welcome, the service, the food, the environment and the ambience were all perfect. We were served quickly by the lovely Yardley and her colleagues, all very smiley and looked happy in their jobs and we enjoyed a banter with them too. I hope they get to hear this, they are a credit to your establishment. We stopped here due to a terrible experience at a nearby southbound establishment and so glad we did, such a different expirience at Bankfoot, it will be our go to on our future A9 adventures. Thank you x

An off the cuff visit to the Bankfoot Inn, the first time we had been in years. We have eaten our a lot recently. Some disappointing, some over-priced, some overpriced AND disappointing. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Bankfoot Inn.A smart modern / traditional decor and fab staff. Great chat and charm and very efficient. The menu had all the type of food we enjoy in a pub. We had a steak pie and Highland chicken. The steak pie was lovely. Tender steak and a rich gravy with nicely prepped veg. The chicken was smothered in tasty pepper sauce and stuffed with fab spicy haggis.... oh and great chips! The honeycomb cheesecake was superb. There is nothing quite like a "pot luck" visit which well exceeds expectations. We will be back.... soon!

Just had an excellent weekend here - easy to see why they won “Four in a bed”. It’s a family run business with a great family and community feel. Fraser and Ross are excellent hosts and all of the staff make everyone feel welcome and go the extra mile- nothing is to much trouble for them. It’s a lovely old coaching inn with a sense of history but tastefully modernised throughout. We had Room 1 which is spacious and comfortable with the best shower we have encountered in any hotel. The breakfast is sumptuous and sets you up for the day. The evening menu during Covid is a chip shop type menu and it works really well after a day in the outdoors. We’d thoroughly recommend a stay and hope we can return before long.

Went to the Bankfoot Inn on recommendation of our B&B owner just a couple of miles down the road. We booked ahead as we were a party of 6 adults, on recommendation again, as it is a small dining room that can only manage around 25.We ate early at 6.30pm on a Friday night and were seated immediately on arrival in a lovely dining area. As it was a Friday night, there were a few locals around the bar area, who had been there for a few hours, and were rather noisy at times, but did not distract away from the lovely atmosphere of the place. Our main waitress was great and very attentive and took our orders quickly and we were very impressed. Unfortunately, the other waitress, was a bit more careless in her approach, often banging drinks and food down on the table when being brought to the table, which was a little disappointing. However, the food was all really tasty and we liked the different options available, especially for the gluten free members of our party. The chicken and leek pie was exceptionally tasty and would highly recommend.

Been here many many times over the years and always enjoyed the food and the interaction with the waitresses. This was the case recently, however during a conversation with a member of staff ( not waitress) about tv programme coming from my home town on New Yrs eve I began to give a very brief history of the area including its many castle and its connection with Robt the Bruce, Wallace, Burns and the Royal Stewart’s. I also mentioned a Census carried out by King Edward in Scotland which proved the Wallace Clan had no land in Elderslie as was believed until recently. On mentioning The English King the staff member made a comment ... Let’s not talk about them. She confirmed she meant the English. Sorry but this is not acceptable. I am a Scot living in Scotland and with the atmosphere created by the Scottish Govt over many years now this comment could be construed as a racist comment. After her comment I walked off stating I am not getting into politics. Service marking is down because of this individual.Poor show. But the food was great

Well, what a surprise that was. Visited the Bankfoot Inn on recommendation as it was the Wife's Birthday, well, the welcoming approach from both Ross and Fraser was exceptional from start to finish. The interior of the establishment has been renovated to a warm and relaxing venue with wood burners and soft music playing in the background. The menu was not the largest but attention to detail massive and food exceptional value. The starter - Black pudding with Goat cheese on a bed of salad was out of this world, fish and chips fresh, tasty with the batter just melting in your mouth. Good selection of draught beers and Ale's on offer. Will most definitely re visit in the coming weeks. Keep up the good work.

We were pleasantly surprised by this little gem. I had the 3 fish salad which I'd rate at one of the best I've ever tasted. Fish comprised of smoked salmon, mackerel and prawns in a marie rose sauce. Accompanied by a variety of salad veg, fruit and thick granary bread. You'd think with the Taste of Perthshire just down the road and all the trade it attracts, they would at least try to pull some of that away. But no, we stopped in for lunch to avoid the ToP crowd and found a gastro pub less than half full and seemingly only one waiter. It took him a couple of minutes to give us some of his valuable time to show us a table, then 5 more to take an order only because we attracted his attention. 10 minutes later, he returned to say the soup was off !! Another 15 minutes (after the pub had emptied a bit) to rustle up a couple of plates of toasties, which weren't made in a toastie maker but just sarnies made with toast. My companion was offered pickle on hers, which turned out to be salsa we think, rendering it inedible to her. No apology. Meanwhile a group of at least 8 cyclists had pitched up just after 2pm looking for food to be told the cook had finished.

Menus were super - both my husband and I couldn't make up our minds as so much choice! Children's menu had a large choice too and everything was freshly made (burger was homemade). Lovely clean surroundings, very homely feel. I will definitely come back again. My only suggestion (and it is a suggestion as I cannot criticise or fault at all) would be that maybe mobile phones could be banned. We had to listen to several French men yelling at their wives on FaceTime and their kids yelling back which was a pity, but the manageress handled them very well! Had the best homemade soup - minestrone and fresh bread. Beautiful homemade porridge the next morning and good coffee.

Having found Dunkeld somewhat lacking in any pub of character this was recomended and well worth the pleasant six mile drive on the pretty old Perth road. Original stone walls and a nice atmosphere with charming staff. Fairly standard pub fare but fresh and well filled sandwiches.

After a lengthy walk stopped at Bankfoot inn for supper. The portion was large, the batter on the fish very stodgy not lovely and crispy it's a pity as it's a lovely place with friendly attentive staff.

Popped into the Bankfoot Inn for lunch today, first time in a long time. Absolutely fabulous food and service with a wonderful log burning stove to keep us cosy! What more could you ask for and they have rooms too? Well done to the Bankfoot Inn, we shall return!

Had an afternoon followed by a meal in this hostelry. Good choice of real ales and well kept. A warm welcome from the owners and an open fire roaring away. Good pub food, nothing spectacular but ok and at a reasonable price. This place has definitely improved and although not in a tourist town it does attract custom from around as it is right on the bus route.

I have been to the Bankfoot Inn on numerous occasions and mostly been left feeling disappointed, tonight particularly so after having been forced to listen to bagpipes throughout a quiet meal. Bagpipes in the actual restaurant itself. Go only if you like rude proprietors, substandard food and enforced folk music.

This Inn retains the bones of an old Scottish free house - while the rooms upstairs have been nicely updated. The owners, who live on site are very welcoming and helpful. The bar/pub serves real ale. The dinner food is so so, but the breakfast is good.

Beware don't serve evening meals until 6 pm and you have to make a detour of the A9 to get to it. Otherwise looked nice, cannot comment on the food.

Well worth a stopover or dropping in for a meal or a drink. The bar has a great range of single malts. The main bar is atmospheric with a warming fire in winter, makes you feel like you are dropping in at your long-time local, wherever you hail from. The cozy restaurant has a bistro style with exposed stone walls, weathered wooden floors and an open fire. Good menu selection and the food is always prepared well, tasty & reasonably priced. Well worth a visit.

Visited the Bankfoot Inn 19.45 on Saturday 9th Feb 2013. We had not made a reservation. We were met by a very pleasant young man, who we asked if they had a table for two available that evening. He checked with the kitchen who appeared to be quite happy. There were three tables for 2 and 1 table for 4 unoccupied. When he spoke to the lady behind the bar she said " no we are far too busy" No apology, smile or pleasant interaction. The young man was pleasant and apologetic. We were very disappointed at the attitude of the lady behind the bar and in this economic climate surprised by her very non customer friendly approach. We will definitely not go back even though we live just 15 miles away and will not advise visitors to go there. We went about 12 kilometers down the road to the Maltings at the Inveralmond roundabout in Perth which was far busier, with very friendly staff and excellent service.

Stayed here last week for three days. The owner and the staff of the place were very welcoming. The food we had in the bombay club was very tasty and freshly prepared. All the credit of the good food goes to Mandeep Singh, Jasbir Singh and their team. I would love to visit this place again.

Ordered vegan food and found what seemed like animal part in it. They insisted it was part of a mushroom which it clearly wasn’t. This made my wife feel sick and therefore couldn’t accept the offer of another meal. Offers of drinks etc weren’t acceptable as this had ruined our evening. I had to argue for any reduction in the bill and was threatened with the police if I didn’t pay. Appalling customer service.

Cozy, rustic, highland hotel with friendly staff, real log fire, excellent breakfast and great location. We stayed for two nights in the autumn and were kept warm, well fed, and slept well. The “rustic“ descriptor refers to quirky layouts and ancient bowed floors that give this place some character, and also to the wonderful log fire and leather sofas in the foyer. We ate in the bar one evening, sadly one of the meals was under the heat lamp for too long and was all but inedible (this small problem was handled excellently by the waiting staff). The other plate was delicious. I’m giving four stars because we enjoyed our stay, and could probably return again, but I couldn’t wholeheartedly recommend it to all of our friends.
