Visited this wonderful tea room having visited the area and read the reviews. Had a lovely cup of tea with the most amazing home made chocolate orange cake. There was a huge choice of cake available, I’m not sure how the lady remembered them all. We never looked at the lunch menu, but will next time we visit. All of the staff were really friendly. The lady did tell us that they don’t take cards but could take a bank transfer or cash. If visiting the area, a stop off is definitely recommended.

Absolutely superb Friday supper club. Mussels were fantastic, as was the venison and rhubarb Pavlova to finish. Unbelievable.

Ate here whilst staying for 3 nights in Tobermory, and it was the best meal we ate. Filling, tasty, well cooked and presented. Recommended.

Went for breakfast before we got on the boat home - excellent food and great, friendly service - just wished we discovered it when we arrived on the island so that we could have used it more - really enjoyed our visit

This shed is miles down a single track road, in a beautiful setting but hardly in a commuter belt. It is so well stocked. Cakes - so many to choose from, hot and cold drinks, ice cream, fudge tablet. The caravan park further down the road must help with trade, but it is a great place and I hope it continues to flourish and the baker continues to bake (Oh and the cakes and tablet were fab).

Cosy wee place, right on the harbour wall. Super friendly staff, lovely food (especially cakes and coffee, but I'm biased towards cake). We loved the place 🎂☕☕🎂10/10

We’ve stayed just down the road from the Gaelic Centre four times now but this is the first time we’ve realised that the cafe is open outwith special events. We had excellent coffee and scones served by lovely friendly staff. The centre is very peaceful and has great views. We also really enjoyed seeing the paintings by local artist Dieter Finger - both the landscapes and the impressive portraits of some of the musicians who’ve played at the Lagavulin jazz festival in the past.

We went to Chatters for the French evening on Fri 10th November. What can I say? Food the best on this side of the peninsula and would give city centre eateries a run for their money. Front of house had Rosie working her magic getting everyone seated and settled (the place was full). Eva was knowledgable, funny and selected superb wines to match the food so tastefully prepared by Katie and her team. It was tasteful, flavoursome and beautifully presented. Having good friends in Lyon, I never knew the French preferred their cheese course before dessert but it does make sense. A wonderful evening and I look forward to going back for an a la carte experience next time.

Hidden gem. Lovely food. Friendly staff. Pleasant walk just near this place. We had homemade lunch followed by delicious cakes and coffee. There is also a little shop in the cafe which had some nice local goods in.

Chef Steve likes to discuss the menu with guests in advance, which increases the expectation of imaginative and beautifully presented meals. Even he admits that his portions are on the generous size – as will their guests be after a few of his meals. And then there's the banter with partner and sommelier Maurice ... great fun!

We had walked the mile or so from home and decided to get a coffee from the cafe. No seats inside and people already waiting so we took one of the benches outside since we were wearing our arctic coats. We enjoyed our coffees with cake, then went to the pier to take some photos before setting off home again.

We ate here two nights in a row in early August. The menu changed each night so there were new things to try. We gelt some of the food, such as the starters, were over priced for the portion (ÂŁ8.50 for two small croquettes) but they were delicious. However, the slices of cake we got for pudding were easily big enough for two (the picture shows two half slices on one plate) and each only ÂŁ6.50. The cakes and puddings we had were all top notch A*** (esp choc ganache) so worth coming in just for coffee and cake even if you don't have a meal. We booked in advance via WhatsApp for 6pm dinner: Wed night it was quiet but the Thursday was heaving so glad we booked. The food we had was c. ÂŁ20 for a main course and was really well made and delicious. Portions aren't huge but were sufficient. There isn't a kids menu so the first night we shared two meals between the three of us and had pudding, but the second night we had a main each. The Island Cafe is cheaper than the Coll Hotel and has a nice home made, welcoming feel to it with local art and two linked rooms, one with sofas and tables and the other just tables. The serving staff were nice young people. My partner also had coffee and cake here and the cakes really are very good (I hear the Chelsea buns are to die for too) and my coffee-snob partner says this is the best coffee available on Coll.
