This shed is miles down a single track road, in a beautiful setting but hardly in a commuter belt. It is so well stocked. Cakes - so many to choose from, hot and cold drinks, ice cream, fudge tablet. The caravan park further down the road must help with trade, but it is a great place and I hope it continues to flourish and the baker continues to bake (Oh and the cakes and tablet were fab).

I came here after a boat journey with my family. We had visited Cakeway when it formerly was in Tayvialich and had been pleased before. When we arrived a smile was on my face when I saw the little shed brightly decorated with bunting. Me and my family had biscuits and ice lollies. We were quite pleased. It still needs more of a variety.

We came across you on our way to Castle Sween holiday which we had travelled 370miles! And came across a coffee sign with a blue shed! My other half walked in and was amazed by all the lovely cakes was rude not to try one! Then that was it our 5 days of staying at Castle Sween was a tradition to stop every time! Your chocolate brownies, scones & lemon cake are absolutely delicious! Also our 4 year old son loved the Empire biscuits! Such a lovely thing to have in the middle of no where! Highly recommend the “little blue shed” to anyone passing! And we will be up again for a visit when we come up and stay again!

We went last year and found it so refreshing to buy cakes and just leave the money in an honesty box. The stuff we bought was all fresh and home made. Lovely idea.

Stopped off here with the family to get some afternoon treats. WOW, the Bakewell slices are fab but the Tiffin is amazing. The range of baking is truly wonderful. Highly recommended. 🍰🍰🍰

We were staying locally and once we called into Cake-a-Way we visited every day - even as we were leaving to come home! We loved seeing what there would be and making our choices, which did take some time. The blueberry scones are delicious - such a great idea. We tried almost everything I think during our week and now we are home and missing our daily cake!Linda has clearly hit upon a great business idea and we really hope it's a success, although we worry as it's completely off the beaten track. Top tip - if you are driving along to Crinan, it's worth the detour to get some delicious treats.

Driving along a quiet stretch of road and suddenly there's a small summer house type shed at the side of the road advertising cakes! It's like a mirage...The cakes inside are fantastic, a good variety and all look remarkably naughty and full of calories. I liked the "Wagon Wheel" cakes mmmm. There's also cold drinks and eggs to purchase as well. The stall is completely unmanned but there's a sign that says something like, "If you want to be trusted be honest" - and the place runs on trust and honesty, I love it!There's napkins, paper bags, a pot for small change and so on. Everything's been thought of, even lists of ingredients for individual cakes (one slight niggle - on our two visits we couldn't see any dairy free options :() Wish we had something similar here.Thank you very much to whoever runs this place.

We had driven past this once and on the second drive past we decided to give it a try. There was a huge selection of individual cakes in boxes, all clearly labelled and priced with an honesty box. We chose lemon cake (£1.50) and rocky road (£1.60) and were able to wrap them in the paper bags provided. Although we didn't leave a message in their guest book, I wanted to leave something on here as we would definitely visit again. Although it may be difficult for them to do, I didn't spot any gluten or dairy free items - but for such a small place it may be difficult to provide cakes for specific dietary needs (or perhaps we didn't spot them in amongst the vast choice of cakes on offer :-) ). Would highly recommend and we'll be going back again when we next visit the area.

The Cake-a-way is a lovely little barn at the side of the road, where you can find a variety of different cakes to take home in a paper bag, or eat at the cute picknick table conveniently placed in the grass. The Cake-a-way works with an honesty box where you can pay for the cakes. Be sure to leave a comment in the guestbook!

We ate here two nights in a row in early August. The menu changed each night so there were new things to try. We gelt some of the food, such as the starters, were over priced for the portion (£8.50 for two small croquettes) but they were delicious. However, the slices of cake we got for pudding were easily big enough for two (the picture shows two half slices on one plate) and each only £6.50. The cakes and puddings we had were all top notch A*** (esp choc ganache) so worth coming in just for coffee and cake even if you don't have a meal. We booked in advance via WhatsApp for 6pm dinner: Wed night it was quiet but the Thursday was heaving so glad we booked. The food we had was c. £20 for a main course and was really well made and delicious. Portions aren't huge but were sufficient. There isn't a kids menu so the first night we shared two meals between the three of us and had pudding, but the second night we had a main each. The Island Cafe is cheaper than the Coll Hotel and has a nice home made, welcoming feel to it with local art and two linked rooms, one with sofas and tables and the other just tables. The serving staff were nice young people. My partner also had coffee and cake here and the cakes really are very good (I hear the Chelsea buns are to die for too) and my coffee-snob partner says this is the best coffee available on Coll.
