Absolutely superb Friday supper club. Mussels were fantastic, as was the venison and rhubarb Pavlova to finish. Unbelievable.

Hogmanay 2023 New Year Eve 31/12/23 celebration meal. An absolutely wonderful 6 course meal. The quality of local Isle of Mull ingredients, combined with expert preparation and presentation made for a feast for the eyes and pallet. Better than you’d find in the Ritz ! Many thanks to the chef and the two waitresses.

Fabulous food and a warm welcome! We booked lunch for a large group in October, and Helen was fantastic at liaising with us about our menu choices. The food was delicious - fresh, tasty and beautifully presented. We enjoyed the spacious dining area and the views, and really appreciated the warm welcome of Helen and her staff. I definitely recommend eating here if you're on Mull!

Fabulous food. We had an amazing lunch. I had the amazing platter and my husband enjoyed the crab loaded fries. The opening times are available inside the shop so we knew exactly what day and time to turn up at.

Lovely find for a late lunch after struggling to find parking in Tobermory. Restaurant was quiet but service was good and food was excellent. Fresh seafood landed locally and prepared and served with love and attention. Stand out dishes were loaded crab fries for me and fresh langoustine for him. Both delicious.

Would've loved to eat here, but you need a degree to work out if its open or not. Take away, cook t home, meals looked like an interesting idea, except the freezer was empty. the re-sticking days didn't fit in with our plans.

Totally delicious food to serve at home. We had macaroni cheese & banoffee pie, with banoffee pie ice cream. Genius cooking, thank you.

Bei der Übermittlung wird seit Tagen und Wochen ein technischer Übertragungsfehler vorgegaukelt. Tatsache ist: Man will die Bewertungen nicht rausnehmen. bzw. löschen, weil sonst eine Menge an positiven Bewertungen verschwinden. Folge davon ist: Man setzt sich im Vertrauen auf den operativen Betrieb zu Fuss in Bewegung um vor Ort eine Reservierung aufzugeben. Vor Ort erfährt man dann nach halbstündiger Wanderung dass das Restaurant AUF DAUER GESCHLOSSEN HAT. Das ist seitens TripAdvisor UNFAIR bis zum geht nicht mehr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When we visited (April 2022), the Hebridean Lodge was only offering cook-at-home meals. We ordered two Lamb Rump meals, including Haggis rolls to start. Excellent and very straightforward to cook.

The restaurant was closed for refurbishment when we visited Mull but we bought a starter, main and dessert to eat at our self-catering cottage. Delicious food featuring local produce such as venison shepherd's pie with spinach and mushroom wellington. The pannacotta with gingerbread pudding was delicious. On the pricy side but worth the money.

Apparently stocks wiped out yesterday. So there was very little food to eat. Cotton printed dish towels for £10 and aprons for £22.50 too steep price wise. Wishing them speedy recovery and hope restaurant open again soon, because this is a quality place.

Restaurant wasn't open, just take away but the berry pannacotta I bought in a generous sized glass jar was simply magnificent.Oh to get that recipe! I demolished it in one go.Later on that day I had pannacotta in the Am Birlinn restaurant and it was so poor in comparison. Just wish we'd been able to dine here....hopefully in the future.

The restaurant was sadly not open, but the chef was in the shop, we had a lovely chat. She seemed passionate about food, there were delicious take always, but we bought a lovely picture there!

8 of us sat down for Dinner recently to celebrate a birthday.Every single one of said it was some of the best food we have recently eaten and not a morsel was left, nor a drop of wine from the perfect wine list.The staff couldn't have been more accommodating with small changes to what they had offered and we were given ample to to relax and enjoy the ambience of the evening.Well done Helen and Linda, you did us proud, cant wait for our next visit

This may be a small restaurant, but in this case, less is definitely more. The food was delicious, fresh and locally sourced. No complaints,empty plates all round. There were 'compliments to the chef' from everyone at our table. Service was prompt,staff were friendly and attentive. I would definitely go back on my next visit to Mull.

We enjoyed a first class meal. Good service and the food was superb. Anybody staying in Tobermory should try the Hebridean Lodge.

Seven of us visited last night for a meal and the food was truly outstanding! We have been before and I can't fault one single thing about this restaurant. The staff are lovely and so helpful .Five of us had the steak and chips option and two the Hake. The steak and chips were absolutely wonderful, cooked to perfection and beautifuly presented. Not only was there a perfectly cooked fillet steak with a peppercorn sauce but a side of slow braised beef with black pudding and hebridean blue cheese loaded fries! Then with that a lovely little caesar salad with fresh anchovy and quails egg. Whilst waiting for the mains a couple of us had the prawn cocktail and the rest just ate the wonderful bread with herbed butter. This was followed by a trio of puddings, panacotta, cranachan and a chocolate pot which some of us had whilst others had the knickerbocker glory, celebrating whisky and toasted marshmallows. Just skip lunch when you visit here so you have room to try all three courses, believe me it will be worth it. We look forward to our next visit and will be sure to tell friends this is a must do when visiting Mull.

Small, quiet restaurant, with a relatively small menu - but don't let this put you off. The food is outstanding and beautifully presented. Much of the food is locally sourced - and truly delicious. I was impressed, and would have no hesitation in returning or recommending.

The quality of restaurant experiences in Scotland has improved so greatly in recent years that when we saw Hebridean Lodge praised on Tripadvisor we were keen to go. It turned out to be a very reasonable restaurant, but disappointed us because of the high expectations created by the reviews on this site. Although we happened not to find the menu particularly interesting on our evening, it was pleasingly short and clearly regularly changed, and full of fresh local ingredients. The food was really good, although it wasn't confidence-building to hear microwave pings from the kitchen from time to time - I suggest they turn the sound off! The hake in particular was handled very well. The service was attentive and pleasant.Where the restaurant disappointed, though, was in the lack of atmosphere. It's not in an attractive location, and (like Am Birlinn a few miles away) it's in much too tall and open a modern space to create any sense of intimacy. Only half of the tables were taken on our evening, but that doesn't entirely account for the issue. Despite that, however, this is one of the several good restaurant choices in Tobermory - you can be confident of eating well here.

My husband and I booked a meal here for our anniversary. The place is beautiful, spacious and comfortable with about 10 tables upstairs.They have a good menu choice and serve a lot of local produce like cheese/seafood etc. We really enjoyed our meals and would highly recommend the sharing platter for starters with smoked salmon, smoked mackerel paté, langoustine cocktail, warm bread etc. It was delicious and the portions were just right (not small).Plenty of choice for drinks and the waitress was very knowledgeable in different varieties and everything they had to offer.We will definitely be coming again, thank you for a warm welcome and working hard to produce some outstanding food. Your hard work is much appreciated.

This is the second year that we have been to Mull and each time the highlight of the holiday is eating at the Hebidean Lodge, the food is just fantastic, we were sad that we could not eat here every night.From our experience with a couple of other hotels on Mull they should send there chefs here for lessons.

Well... based on our week of dinners in Glasgow and the Highlands and Islands, the short answer is yes.The Hebridean combines happy surroundings, friendly service, exquisite raw materials and real inventiveness in the kitchen into a sublime foodie experience. We started with tomato soup and mussels in cream, both beautifully prepared and fresh, then moved on to on the one hand a vegetarian spectacular - a cavolo nero and mushroom Wellington with pastinak mousse, spinach and plum chutney, and on the other a perfectly cooked crusted hake on a bed of spinach and vegetables.I can not recommend the Hebridean enough. If you have only one place to eat in Scotland, eat there.

Loved this restaurant. The food was wonderful, faultlessly cooked and exceptional value for money. Possibly the best restaurant of our trip round Scotland.

A lovely gin and tonic started the evening well, accompanied by delicious home made bread and flavoured butter to nibble whilst studying the menu.

After reading the reviews on TripAdvisor, I booked this lovely restaurant in advance. I was not disappointed. Food was amazing.The fish cooked to perfection. My husbands claw and turf was stupendous. We even had 3 courses. I never eat dessert but it would have been rude not too after a faultless starter and main. Cannot recommend enough if visiting the area.Service was great too.

After reading the reviews this place was on my wish list. We went there for my husband’s birthday. Everything was cooked to perfection . The atmosphere was relaxed and service great. A wonderful night. Can’t wait to return

We had a lovely meal whilst on holiday in Tobermory. We were keen to try a variety of seafoods and we were all delighted with what was on offer. The food was delicious and very well presented. The restaurant had a great atmosphere and the staff were very friendly and attentive.

Daughter and I ordered a delicious Surf and Turf served with triple cooked chips and a Caesar Salad. I have never seen such large langoustines in my life!!! and the Steak was cooked to perfection and the Caesar salad was perfect, Whilst we were waiting the waitress (very friendly and helpful) brought us some artisan bread and pate which again was delicious. All washed down with a glass of red and a glass of rose wine. We didn't have room for dessert so settled for a decaf Gaelic Coffee served with frozen truffles. Highly recommended.

We managed to book at short notice for a special birthday meal. I advised in advance that we had a coeliac with us so had to have a genuinely gluten free option - and discovered all but one dish could be g/f. Helen went to a lot of trouble with really tasty g/f options and even the chips were separately cooked (not all chefs do this). The duck pate with a really interesting toast and accompaniments was delicious. Then 3 of us went for the lobster; 1 for the lamb. All superb. All local - Helen really supports the local producers. Finally we all went for the honey pannacotta which was beautifully presented and equally tasty. Quiet music in the background provided ambience without making conversation impossible and the service was friendly too. All in all a perfect night out. A bonus is that, being in upper Tobermory, we didn't have to climb up the hill afterwards as we would if eating on Main Street! (PS, the chips are triple-cooked so lovely and crisp - not your standard stuff at all!).

The food here is excellent, clearly cooked with passion and love. The menu is limited, just like a lot of places on the island so I wouldnt go with a young family. All our kids were over 16yrs. We had baked cod with chips, lamb and the vegetarian Wellington. All were lovely. We had the sharing starter which comprised of macketal pate, smoked trout, langoustines in a Marie sauce and amazing home made oatcakes and the best homemade bread ever. Was fantastic.

We're just back from a week's holiday in Tobermory, and had exellent meals at the Hebridean Lodge on two evenings. Helen, the chef, is fantastic as is the waitress, whose name unfortunately I don't know. The food was first-class, and beautifully presented. Lovely surroundings, and great views as the restaurant is on the first floor, with an interesting shop on the ground floor. Highly recommended.

What a great experience. The 3 of us loved the menu, all the different food we ordered & were pleasantly surprised by the very good and varied wine list. The chef is top notch, the server lovely, the interior simple with a nice ambience, pretty views & not overcrowded, a 12 min. stroll up the hill.

This restaurant deserves it's 5 star rating. It was unpretentious , simply furnished but the food did the talking for this great little restaurant. Three of us thoroughly enjoyed our food and would have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant. The staff were very friendly and the chef came out as we were leaving to thanks us for dining there. WI'll definitely go back when we are next in Mull.

As others have said, it’s not easy to get a table here but we booked a few days ahead. It’s small and very intimate as the chef can be seen in her kitchen and pops out to serve occasionally (note to chef: joggy bottoms covered in stains isn’t the best look). Everything we had was beautifully presented and tasted great. We were made to feel welcome and it was very relaxed. My only suggestion would be to turn the music up just slightly as with such limited numbers dining, it’s difficult to have a conversation at anything above a whisper. Highly recommended though and we’re just sorry we don’t have time to book again this holiday.

My diving group and I had an evening meal here. The food and service was excellent. I had three courses: Mackerel Pate, Lamb, and Knicker Bocker Glory. Every dish was delicious

Without doubt, this is the best restaurant I have found in Scotland after 25 years of touring. Helen, the chef, only serves 16 people a night so do whatever you have to do to book a meal here. The location is on the mezzanine floor and above an art gallery and somewhat unassuming but don’t let that dissuade you. Helen is an artist who creates fabulous dishes for her guests. I write this knowing it may mean I never get another chance to book a table here in the future due to her no longer having any availability but it would be wrong not to recognize publicly what a rare talent this lady has. She sent not only ourselves but all other guests away last night completely blown away!

Our group of 10 had between it all of the dishes except one of the desserts and the response was unanimous - totally fantastic food and service to match. Highly recommended.

We had a superb seafood dinner beautifully prepared . A lovely peaceful setting for a special night out.

Booked here prior to arrival in Mull based on reviews on here. Not disappointed, lovely friendly restaurant, small but perfectly formed menu with specials board. Lobster cooked in garlic and lemon butter a real treat. Liked place so much we tried to book a couple of days later and no table available, however to our delight got a call back about an hour later to tell us they had a cancellation and would we like to take it. We did, and that time enjoyed a beautiful lamb dish. Should mention starters and desserts also excellent! Well worth the walk up the hill from Tobermory Main Street, or do like we did and get taxi there and walked back afterwards. If ever back in Mull, this will be our first reservation.

Had the best ever "surf and turf" here - succulent steaks and enormous langoustines (rivalled my previous best experience at Rick Stein's in Padstow). Don't worry about the setting (a mezzanine floor over a shop) - come here for the superb food.

This was our second visit and we would come back again. Amazing local food, very tasty, well presented and excellent service. Very welcoming and they were able to re-arrange our booking at the last minute at our request. Would come back for a third time when we're next on Mull!

Situé à l'écart du centre, ce restaurant, relativement nouveau, nous a réservé une belle surprise. L'accueil fut très cordial et nous nous sommes retrouvés dans un espace aéré, plein de lumière. Nous avons dégusté des langoustes savoureuses, pour un prix défiant toute concurrence. La carte n'est pas très étoffée mais les mets sont raffinés. Nous avons passé un excellent moment dans ce restaurant.

Very welcoming atmosphere, service excellent, Food excellant , pleasing to the eye. Would highly recommend the sea food platter for two.

This is a very good place to eat with a most interesting menu. Food is very well-cooked, very well-presented and very innovative. Service is friendly and charming and it is a most relaxing place in which to dine. If I have one criticism, it would be that the wine list is limited, but the food really is super.

Had the most delicious two courses beginning with home made duck liver pate and followed by my most favourite dish ever - lobster, chips & Caesar salad. Service fantastic and the food just divine!

First day open for the season so no specials but the menu choice was reasonable. Fine quality fresh food, nicely cooked. My smoked salmon, pate starter with beetroot was fresh and delicious, his mushroom soup unctuous. He lucked out with an amazing fillet steak, brisket pie, parsnip purée and haggis dauphinois plate - a turbo-driven roast dinner. Mine was a nice sea trout dish but the fish, which should have been the star, was eclipsed by a chorizo garnish mix. Portions were generous. Service good, wine nice. We'd definatly go back, this is a chef that cares.

The meal, the service, the atmosphere... everything is spot on. We’ve been travelling for weeks and have had many delicious meals at highly rated establishments but this, by far, without a doubt, was the best. With a menu that appears to change monthly, I’d be happy to come back again and again. I ordered a kale, button mushroom and cranberry pie which was served with creamy potatoes and watercress. My goodness—if i said it wasn’t the best veg meal I’ve ever tasted I’d be lying through my teeth. Absolutely divine. My husband had roast beef with scallops and lobster and everything was cooked to perfection. The scallops— buttery and sweet with a perfect crispy sear. The chef knows exactly what she’s doing. 10/10.

My wife and I arrived for an early dinner and when we got there, we discovered that we were initially going to be the only diners - reason is that this area of Scotland was under full Gale weather with high winds and seas, making some of the ferry crossings impossible and many diners could not even get to the Isle of Mull. My wife had a vegetarian meal while I had the special of venison - we thoroughly enjoyed our dinners and wine - even though we essentially had a private restaurant due to the weather. Highly Recommend!

Visited with family who live locally and recommended the Hebridean Lodge. Had a great meal with very friendly service. Great bread. Cured salmon starter with lots of salmon - a few well chosen accompaniments that didn’t overwhelm the star of the show. The venison main was great but a special mention must go to the haunch pie which was delicious. Those who had steak and chips raved about the chips with brisket and blue cheese - a take on poutine and none the worse for that. Pannacotta came with a stellar bramble ice cream. A laudable short menu making the most of local seasonal ingredients. The wine list could do with an upgrade - the picpoul with the starter was as reliable as picpoul’s usually are but the red list was too short and the south of France red we had was flabby - one can do much better for a £ or two more. But altogether an excellent meal.

Thank you to the team at hebridean lodge for the most amazing meal tonight! From gin, Apple & beetroot cured salmon to 1/2 lobster in garlic,herb,sweet chilli and lime butter with Caesar salad and triple cooked chips with Bloody Mary dip it was amazing start to finish. The venison loin was also delicious. Would highly recommend anyone visiting Mull to visit here. Will definitely be back on our next trip. Thank you!

Nice setting near the top of a hill near town (walkable) I had the lobster and even though I in the past didn't care for it at other places, this was really delicious. not the chewy stuff you get at Red Lobster

Fantastic meal! Steak cooked to perfection my boyfriend struggled to rat it all. I had lobster! Amazing ! Thanks again will be back shortly for my Christmas dinner! Can not wait!

We had a meal at Hebridean Lodge on our last evening staying in Tobermory. The atmosphere was informal and relaxing. My starter of scallops was beautifully served and delicious. My main course of beef, was tasty and the chips with beef brisket was delicious. My wife’s vegetarian dish of mushrooms was excellent. The choice of wines by the glass was good, though limited as might be expected. All in all, an excellent and memorable meal and reasonable prices.

Had a lovely dinner at the Lodge on holiday and thoroughly enjoyed it. Very friendly service, lovely food and atmosphere. The food was delicious and well presented. One of our best meals whilst on Mull and thoroughly worth a visit.

A little bit late in writing this review as we dined at this restaurant back in April. What fantastic experience it was. From the moment we arrived with our friends we were made to feel extremely welcome by the excellent waitress. Unfortunately I can’t remember her name but she remained attentive, smiley, chatty and kept the drinks flowing and ensured we had everything we needed throughout our evening. All this while attending to a full restaurant by herself AND I do believe she was also pregnant at the time. The food was absolutely outstanding and by far the best we’d had in Tobernory. Helen the chef/owner should be very proud of her business and staff all of whom clearly work exceptionally hard. We would definitely recommend this restaurant and we will definitely be back!

I frankly didn’t expect to find a creative, gourmet menu here. What a wonderful surprise; our meal was beyond delicious.

We ate at the Hebridean last night for the final night of our 8 day stay on Mull. The food was fabulous & not only our best meal on Mull but the best we've had in a restuarant for a while. We're just sad we didn't have the opportunity to go again but will definitely return on a future trip.

We booked to eat at the Hebridean Lodge after getting married in Tobermory. We chose the restaurant as we liked the look of it and because of reviews we had read.

Dined here with a group of friends, we had been meaning to go for ages - after seeing the most amazing foodie pictures on social media and finally we all had a day we could all go , we Where so NOT disappointed ! Was just amazing from start to finish, we dined at 8pm - the restaurant has a really lovely cosy feel around it - making you feel relaxed the moment you step in - that along with the lovely friendly staff! They take a limited number each night so you never feel rushed to have to quickly eat and leave your table, as in some other restaurants , I always like to wait a while after main so I can squeeze in a pudding and a thankfully here I was able to do just that !

During the space of a week, we had problems with my parents health on two separate occasions at the restaurant, which gave the staff a bit of a scare, but handled both events magnificently! The service was more than helpful, and the food first class.

This was a super place to dine. The staff were very welcoming and attentive. We had the sharing platter ( which was so good, we needed extra bread to soak up the cooking liquor of the mussels) and the fabulous lobster. Chips and bloody mary ketchup was a new and very enjoyable accompaniment.

Nous avons mangé un homard d'anthologie à un prix plus que raisonnable. La jeune Chef prépare tout elle-même puis vient discuter avec les hôtes. A encourager et soutenir absolument.

This restaurant and its chef get my wholehearted top marks! The attention to detail in every course, along with the best locally sourced ingredients make this small and peaceful restaurant a joy to dine in.

We ate here once on our recent visit to Mull, staying in Tobermory town centre. We visited the shop too which had a good selection of local gifts. The restaurant is only a 15 minute walk from the town, but most of those 15 minutes are uphill and it was raining.....so we used the car. But there are taxis available, or if it’s dry, the walk is fine. There were I think three choices of a starter, main, and desert so quite limited but it is a speciality place and as such can’t provide a massive menu. What we had was delicious.

Visited the restaurant tonight whilst holidaying on the island. We were treated to three superbly prepared courses which were so fresh and tasty.Every body in our party of six commented on the outstanding food and excellent service.Well worth a visit.

Hmmmm now understand why it was us and another table in. Only a few choices on menu, pretty basic and poor some sort of slurry to resemble brisket. We’re American we know our brisket. Much better places to eat on island. A grey brown meat which was an attempt at fillet. Wouldn’t return

We were told this restaurant was one of the best in town and it did not disappoint. The food was fabulous! There are only a few choices and def. get reservations, but it's worth it.

Have been going to mull for many years and didn’t know this place was open for dinner. Great food but a bit too rich for me or maybe it was the choices I made from the menu. The platter for sharing was divine included a pot of mussels which were really tasty in a creamy sauce, mackerel pâté covered in a beetroot jelly and crab . The ‘steak pie and chips ‘was good in its individual parts but altogether was a bit too heavy for me .

We were recommended to book at the Hebridean which we did prior to leaving London. Although a smallish menu our server Alison was very welcoming and helpful. The food especially our starter was very well presented. The panna cotta was made to perfection with no obvious sign of gelatine being used was very good. Would definitely return and recommend

For the cost of the meal I felt it was over priced,the starter of smoked venison was more Parma ham and very strong blue cheese which over shadowed the taste of the dish poorly balanced.

Went for a long trip with my friend and was pretty hungry afterwards. We had amazing camembert with maple syrup and berries followed by massive half lobster and filet of place. Filled our bellies to no end. Thanks again Helen for delicious food and Kayleigh for amazing service! Xxx

Pity we didn't try this restaurant at the beginning of our holiday as we'd have certainly been back for a return visit.

As a drive-by the external lighting informed us the restaurant was open and welcoming. The ambiance is warm and cosy. The food absolutely outstanding. The Parma ham starter is refreshing. The main courses were really special. My beef alongside the brisket pie has a depth of taste you need on a cold night.

We visited the restaurant on valentines night. It was a special menu but without a doubt some of the most wonderful food we’ve eaten ! It was all delicious and well worth the effort of trudging through the snow to get to you !!

Fantastic food and atmosphere. I had trout terrine for started fillet of hake for main and amazing panna cotta for pudding. ❤❤❤

We had an absolutely delicious surf and turf (scallops and beef) served with chips and what my husband declared to be the best Cesar salad with quail egg and anchovy. That would be hard to top but my adult ice cream sundae (knickerbocker glory) was divine and so decadent I couldn't finish it. The lady who served us and who was in the kitchen were so friendly and very efficient. One of the nicest places we've visited in all of Scotland!

If you find yourself in Tobermory on the Isle of Mull be sure to eat at the Hebridean Lodge as part of your visit. Any lover of seafood will enjoy the choice, freshness and quality of the food produced in this very intimate little restaurant. It's only open Monday to Friday and they never book more than 16 people at a time so you almost feel special to be selected to eat there!They have one chef and one waitress so its a bit like being invited to someone's home but the food and the service are superb.
