The best restaurants serving British food in Scotland

Used to dine here every second week. But closed to the public in Dumfries. So we will never dine in a Table table again the same as our friends. You decided to close to the public.

Avoid this place . Poorly cooked frozen fish and staff who see you as sn inconvenience. They add a 10% service charge and offer rubbish service.

Really gorgeous bar and restaurant with a lovely club area upstairs. We had a cocktail making class with Euan/Ewan (sorry I don't know the spelling!). He was a great teacher, good fun and very accommodating, which just added to the experience for our friend's hen party! So big shout out to him. Thank you for a great time, we will definitely be back.

Enjoyable long lunch, Christmas set menu, great value. Coley dish tasty and cooked well. Nice creme brulee too. Washed down with some decent wine and a superb view over the Forth made for a nice afternoon.

Walked all the way along from the rail bridge end looking for a place for coffee and glad we chose Orocco Pier. Staff were very friendly and welcoming, service was good, view out over the Forth was excellent and the toilets were very good. Often places let themselves down by neglecting the toilets. All in all, very happy to have dropped in.

Mi hermano y yo vinimos a tomar un café. El personal era acogedor y amable - nos mostró a una mesa para cuatro al lado de la ventana, para que pudiéramos disfrutar de la hermosa vista bajo el sol. El servicio era genial y el café delicioso. Nos gustó tanto que volvimos más tarde para almorzar. Una vez más, el personal era servicial acerca de una bonita mesa lejos de la entrada y el bar. Deliciosamente frío Sauvignon blanc chileno y una muy buena sopa del día. También compartimos una porción de patatas fritas y eran fantásticos - crujiente por fuera y esponjoso por dentro. En conjunto, una gran experiencia en un día en el que, por tristes razones personales, apreciamos especialmente que nos cuidaran! Gracias.

I've checked into the premier inn for 3 nights to find out the beefeater is closed for food and drink because all the staff have walked out due to soon be opening there own in house Thyme restaurant so there is only staff there in the morning to cook breakfast....yet nothing is on the website about it being closed !!!! I would of booked into another hotel if I had know 🙈🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

Always a friendly atmosphere and the food is fantastic and value for money. A must visit on my many trips to the delightful Dunbar.

We had looked at reviews online and weren’t expecting much but were definitely happy to find out those reviews were wrong. We both had a great meal in what I’d say is the perfect pub to relax after a hike, I had the venison and my fiancée had the sea bass. A great location with stunning views on to the cliffs across the bay, if you’re in western Skye it is well worth a visit.

Very disappointing, low quality ingredients and plated up with no imagination. Prices are average for what was on offer, but overpriced for what was presented.

Breakfast was great and open until 11am, carvery food is then available we both enjoyed the carvery, all the staff are lovely, friendly, helpful and efficient. A special thanks to Susan and Abigail- I hope I’ve spelled your names correctly or Abigail might cry lol 🤣 The restaurant was clean and tidy. The food was plentiful and fresh, a good verity. We stayed for 3 nights. Bed was very comfortable- better than my own tbh, the room was cleaned and tidied every day The room staff were lovely, efficient and very helpful.

Good city centre location for food and drinks. Had the steak and sausage pie which was nice but not amazing. No sausage in it but I was fine with just the steak! Overload of peas on the plate. Everyone else had mac n cheese in my group which they all said was good. Service was patchy- still waiting on the vinegar for my chips. Great pub for drinks but wouldn’t rush back- just so so for me.

Went here for my breakfast whilst staying at the adjacent Premier Inn. Breakfast was self service. Only took scrambled egg from the cooked buffet which was rather solid and lukewarm. Staff rather disinterested in customers.

Visited for lunch today with my partner and the food was amazing!! Friendly and attentive staff, quick service. Definitely recommend!
