Great location, my friends were very happy with the services and location

We had an incredible experience at the hotel. It is perfectly located near the city's main attractions. Our room was spacious, with a beautiful, modern, and cozy interior design. We were given a room facing Carlton Hill, which offered a peaceful and calming view, especially in the evenings. During our four-day stay, the room was cleaned daily to a high standard. The breakfast was also very good, adding to the overall pleasant experience. The breakfast hostess, Kym, was exceptional—she was warm, friendly, and provided memorable hospitality. My 7-year-old son thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The hotel reside on Jeffrey street, right in front of Waverley railway station. Easy access to the Royal Mile and all tourists attraction. The hotel room is equipped with all travelers need ie bathroom essentials, hair dryer, ironing, coffee/tea and hot water. The tv area has no light and it feels a bit dark. The carpet is rather dusty. Other than that, the hotel is lovely with Scottish pillow design. We requested for a simple anniversary deco and the hotel team prepared card and Scottish chocolate for us. It was a beautiful gesture. I would like to also thank Kim from the breakfast restaurant for her warm welcome every morning. I would recommend the hotel for a traveler who wants a good and comfortable stay in Edinburgh

Leonardo is probably the best 4 star chain in the UK

Kym the hostess for breakfast truly gave us the best customer service we’ve ever had. She was absolutely lovely. A male member of staff on reception however was very short with myself on one occasion. Construction noises started up at 8 am, but I’m not sure if it’s connected with the hotel or not.

bed not adequate, density little more than one and a half square.. I'm not saying a king size but there must be at least a queen size. There is no lack of space in the room.. a small armchair is also missing

Very convenient location - near train station, royal mile, old and new town. There were some friendly and helpful staff but there were some bad ones too. Breakfast was complete and good. The bed is firm but only 140cm wide - smaller than what I expected from a 4-star hotel. Our view (room 301) should have been the construction, but the windows were too dirty to see out of. Aside from a moment when a worker was standing 1 meter from me outside the window, we did not experience much trouble since they were not working in the weekend. The room is small (14 sq. meters instead of the advertized 20 sq. m). There was often a nasty sewage smell in the bathroom. After informing the staff, they solved the problem promptly with a strong almond fragrance. We kept the windows open so we could breathe fresh air. Replies to reviews are canned answers.

The room was big enough for us. Unfortunately, when we asked, we couldn't get two single duvets for the king-size bed. Breakfast was great. The path to the hotel was a bit bumpy due to the broken streets.

The location is good. After all it is the only advantage of this hotel… If you cannot bear the noise coming from the street and railways, DO NOT come. The soundproof of the window is terrible. The price and the room quality doesn’t match at all! The breakfast tastes not good and very simple.

The hotel was very good for the price. I stay at tripple room, it was spacious, has cookies, coffee machine. The interier was new and comfortable. The location was super convinient, it was both close to the train station and if you go to the back side up the stairs, you can get to Royal Mile in 5mins.

What an amazing 3 days we had staff so friendly and helpful especially Steve he was amazing also Kym & Eloise were so helpful. . Rooms were spotless very comfortable beds . Nice hotel just off the Royal Mile! Only downside is the train station and no parking for oversized vans. Breakfast and bar service was always nice and accommodating.

Pros: 5* Good location. Nice breakfast. Friendly staff. 4* because they couldn’t change my room to get away from construction works. Cons: 3* for construction going on at the back of the hotel which was pretty loud but if you are out exploring it wont affect you too much.

At the moment I am in this hotel with my wife. A room for 2 and for 2 days we paid 646 Sterling. 1. No service 2. No politeness 3. We are treated like dogs 4. They allowed smoking in the rooms even though we didn't smoke. 5. They came to disturb us in the rooms saying that we absolutely have to pay 100 francs. 6. We went down to pay. we could no longer enter the hotel because they had blocked our access cards. 7. Finally they asked us for 50 Sterling instead of 100 😂 Never again in this hotel. Not even for 5 Sterling. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU NOT TO COME TO THIS HOTEL.

The hotel is situated in a good location, walking distance from the station and close to all the major attractions.

Currently, huge construction next-door. Noisey, room looks out at scaffolding. Only 1 working elevator.

Hotel rooms are nice and very clean with lovely Scottish decor. Employees are all very friendly and accommodating. Location is convenient to all attractions and meeting points for daily tours. Breakfast is good with nice range of options. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend to friends.

Pros: Decent location for tourists. Close to train station. The breakfast was good. Room was clean. Cons: The back side faces a construction site. The elevators are slow and for half of our stay one was out of order. There is no on-site parking. The price was insane for what you get. On our last day, the smoke alarms went off at 6 am for no apparent reason.

Awful - major building work all day from 8am including weekend. Room overlooked skips which were used by bar all day and night (throwing bottles in so, again very noisy) and generators on constantly directly under windows. Only 1 lift working which was also used by hotel operations which meant long waits (8 minutes longest). Used stairs when luggage wasn't involved but stair carpet filthy.

Nice hotel. Rooms somewhat small for 3 people. Service perfect and special compliment to Kim, a friendly and warm lady at breakfast. She was willing to help everyone and was very cheerful. Location is perfect, station and buses a 4 minute walk. Room at the front with a nice view. Back to the Royal Mile within 2 minutes. In short, definitely worth repeating.

Good location 1 minute from the royal mile. Super good breakfast. The staff very friendly and sweet. Nice to be able to use the gym. Reception also pleasant. The room nice and clean. We had forgotten a teddy bear which the staff were kind enough to find for us, thank you for that. The room is a bit small and with a view to the backyard which is currently (May 2024) a building site. It was noisy, but not at the weekend. Some sound had been generated.

During our stay the hotel was in the process of a refurb which caused only mild inconveniences. Everything else was great, helpful and friendly staff, very clean room and facilities. Overall a very good stay.

All is good with the hotel, location etc. but you need to park your car in a public car park, which is a bit costly but still cheaper with the hotel discount. The issue is that you do not have easy access to the car.

Our room overlooked Calton Hill and was a joy to come back to at the end of each day. Leonardo Royal Hotel Edinburgh is centrally located in Exciting Edinburgh with minutes walk to the Waverly train station and to the Royal Mile with all the souvenir shops and restaurants / cafe lining both sides. The hotel is modern, with clean and contemporary rooms. I love their beautifully scented The White Company toiletries and bright windows. Their complimentary bottle of sparking and still water each, are appreciated. The bed and pillow are comfortable, in a spacious room. Room decor and colour tones were earthy and pleasing aesthetically. My 4th Floor room in the front, afforded a nice view towards the train station. They offer a buffet breakfast with wide array of hot and cold dishes, as fuel for us to start the day. I even partook of Haggis again, which is breakfast for champions. Their restaurant is big with lots of seating and different newspaper. Try and request for a room which is not facing the noisy next door construction site. The hotel Receptionist is friendly, helpful and understanding. Helen

We had an excellent experience at this hotel. Great customer service and helpful staff. We had requested a wheel chair that was delivered to the hotel, which they helped store as needed. Great access to the Royal Mile from the hotel and also to the Hop On/Hop Off buses and the train station. Special shout out to the food and beverage staff for their excellent breakfast and dinner service. Thanks Pratham and Jordan for going the extra mile taking care of us during dinner!!

Booked 50+ rooms for a team event in Edinburgh. Great location just a short walk from Waverley Train Station. All the staff we interacted with went above and beyond. Rooms were modern and some had fantastic views of the city. Breakfast was better than most hotels, interesting variety. Wouldn't hesitate to book again.

Leonardo Royal Hotel If your thinking of heading to Edinburgh and are looking for a friendly hotel in a great location to all the sites then let me recommend the Leonardo Royal Hotel. The hotel is only a couple of minutes walk from Edinburgh Waverley Station. We arrived on monday afternoon and entered the hotel. At reception we were given a lovely welcome before being given all the information we needed about the hotel. Our room was an Executive Double plus single room on the sixth floor and was kept clean and stocked by the friendly hotel cleaners.This gave us great views overlooking Waverley station as well as princess street. Unfortunately we only used the hotel for breakfast which had everything you could wish for (ie. Tea and Coffee , juices , cereal , meats , cakes , pastries and all the ingredients you need to create your own style of a full english breakfast including haggis.) You will also be made very welcome by every member of staff who are all so friendly and can also offer any advice required for your visit to this wonderful city. As I said the hotel is in a fabulous location and between 10 - 15 minutes walk from most of the landmarks including Edinburgh Castle , Calton Hill , Royal Mile , Princess Street Scottish Parliament Building and the National Museum of Scotland. Buses and trams are also close by meaning you can also visit the lovely town of Leith. This was our first visit to Edinburgh and I’m pretty sure it won’t be our last. I also think that when we do return there’s a strong chance we will once again choose the Leonardo Royal Hotel.

We had the most spectacular time here! My best friend and I stayed a night with our two toddlers and it was luxury from start to finish, with staff being so helpful and such gorgeous decor from reception to the rooms. We had complimentary prosecco on arrival and the breakfast was brilliant! Perfect location, right around the corner from Royal Mile and just up from Waverley. Run, don't walk! Will definitely be staying here again.

I had a great 3 nights here in January 2024. Very friendly and helpful staff, but had a bit of confusion when trying to amend room arrangements by phone. It's not this specific hotel's fault of course, and I'm definitely not grouping the Leonardo Hotels phone operators with the Leonardo Hotels Jeffrey Street staff. However, I did find it difficult to amend room details on the phone because the phone number of the email reservation was invalid, and when I rang the number on Google Maps for this hotel the operator told me to ring the hotel themselves, even though I got this number from the specific hotel listing. Then the operator gave me another invalid number. My friend rang back and was passed around twice before we could be sorted. Overall, the hotel was very clean, the rooms were spacious and cosy, they had a large TV that we could chromecast Netflix and other streaming sites on. The three of us couldn't figure out how the air conditioning worked, but that's on us. I would stay here again definitely, I haven't watched daytime television in years!

Mooi hotel, geweldige locatie, vriendelijk personeel, schone kamers, maar we werden contante betaling geweigerd. We boekten en betaalden met een kaart, maar wilden het ontbijt contant betalen omdat we geen bankkaart hadden. Ik vind het een slechte service als hotelgasten het ontbijt niet contant kunnen betalen en ergens buiten het hotel moeten zoeken naar een eetgelegenheid. Dit is een groot minpunt van dit hotel.

Do not stay at this hotel if you like laughing or talking at a normal level. Stayed here over New Years and was told by the night concierge at 9:30pm on a Saturday that we were making too much noise and disturbing other guests - we were laughing with our family overseas who had made a special effort to be up in time to call us from a different time zone. Utterly absurd that we were told to “keep it down” at 9:30pm on a Saturday night the day before New Year’s Eve. Won’t be staying here again, paid an awful lot of money and made to feel extremely unwelcome and talked down to by hotel staff, very unpleasant experience, even tho they gave us a room next to a construction site and the bin area so we had to listen to glass and other noisy rubbish being disposed of early in the morning - apparently that’s ok, but laughing with our family is not allowed.

Superb! Where do I start: location- a quick 5 minute walk to the hotel from the tram station. Although construction was present on street and station, I did ask a member of the station which route would be best and they were super helpful pointing me in the right direction. Upon check in- I was immediately greeted and checked-in rather quickly. I can’t recall if I was early or on time to check in, but a room was ready for me upon arrival. The room- I have never felt more greeted entering a room than that of my stay at Leonardo. I enjoyed the Executive level room, which I recommend the update! The accommodation felt homey; homey enough that I canceled a walking tour just to enjoy my room. I enjoyed breakfast both days that I was there. Kym, the hostess for breakfast, was warm and welcoming, so polite and you can genuinely feel she cares for the guests. As she made rounds to double check on everyone, it really brought a smile. Beds are cozy, TV had great selection of channels, bathroom was wonderful, and so very clean. The towel warmer- you spoil me! The safe in the room was working and I felt my items to be secure whilst touring. Check out- so sorry I don’t remember the gentleman’s name, but I had a few questions about the chocolate company they host and about a membership to the Leonardo Royal company. He was very patience, genuine, and I didn’t feel I was bothering him with my chocolate nonsense. Anyways- this was just a perfect experience for myself, and as a solo traveler I couldn’t have felt more taken care of, safe, and encouraged to enjoy the things that make me happy. What a great Christmas Season experience. I will, purposefully, be back! *I did not have children with me, but saw many families with children of all ages and everyone seemed to be happy! I would say this place is kid friendly without compromising the luxury aspect of the place. There’s luxury, and then, apparently, there’s Royal. -Thanks!

Lovely hotel, in a fantastic location in central Edinburgh, only a minutes walk from Waverley station too, Edinburgh as a city is by far a lot better than London, at least up here you feel safer!

The location of hotel is just off the royal mile and ideal for the sights and room’s are comfortable. Breakfast is good and All the staff are very pleasant. Kym and Kevin who work the breakfast are especially welcoming and knowledgeable about what to do where to go and how to get there. Overall a very good break was here for 2 days

My husband and I came here last year, and we were recognised and acknowledged by staff from our first visit. Parvinder and Josh were both so warm and welcoming and couldn't do enough to help us. We enjoyed a truly delicious meal, and delightful service. Many thanks to both Parvinder and Josh!

Worked here six years ago and it was the most toxic environment I have ever worked in over the course of my career. Rampant bullying within the hospitality team forced talented staff out.

The most important benefit is ‘Location’… Close to Edinburgh Waverley, and behind the royal mile… The rooms were clean, updated and very very pleasant… with new decor and complementary coffee and treats. Don’t forget the fridge Hidden in the desk. The beds were very comfy and truly a great night sleep! The bathrooms “get Marks out of 10” for cleanliness. However The view could have been better, as outside my window was a building sight. Breakfast was tasty and a great way to start the day! While the reception staff were fabulous, professional … and happy to help… the staff in the breakfast room staff were not!!! On arrival, I used the toilets, and they indicated not to enter the breakfast room (despite the need to enter the room to use the toilets) and were giving off a lot of negative vibes. That should have been the only issue, however the following morning (over breakfast), I could not but notice the staff congregating near the coffee machine talking when tables needed clean… with few smiles, not a great way to start the day… that with the fact the bar is still closed was a bit if a disappointment… I will stay again, but feel this time me and my partner where let down a little bit.

L'hotel era in piena fase di ristrutturazione e la mattina c'erano dei rumori dall'esterno che però non hanno dato grossi problemi. Forse è per questi lavori in corso che il prezzo del soggiorno è stato molto più vantaggioso rispetto a quello proposto dagli altri hotel di edimburgo che richiedevano cifre a mio avviso folli e spropositate. Even at low British hotel standards, this is rather two star than four. The hotel is worn and would need renovation. The rooms are very small but expensive (£280), and the breakfast (£14) is very poor. Staff at reception is very nice, staff at breakfast is disinterested.

The room was better than expected and better than the pictures on TripAdvisor. Riley at the front desk did a great job helping us figure out where to go, eat and what to see. When we had difficulty figuring out our tour pickup place he helped us contact the tour company. He completely made our stay. The breakfast was great as well. Lots to select from. Their lobby needs more chairs and seems to be under renovation. Nice job Riley!

I saw some review comments that the hotel needs modernised. These are totally outdated. Rooms have just been refurbished and were beautiful. We stayed for the weekend and could not find a fault. The staff were all pleasant and helpful while the full breakfast set us up for the day’s sightseeing. As restrictions changed today we enjoyed the full buffet breakfast which was on offer. A few steps behind the hotel lead straight up to the Royal Mile so we were right in the heart of the city, ideal for all we wanted to see. Excellent choice for a city break.

Stayed here for three nights using a Travelzoo voucher purchased last year. Voucher represented great value for money but the hotel was in desperate need of updating and a good clean. Front desk said that parts of hotel had started renovations. Very good location near mainline station, lots of buses and easy walk to main shopping street, restaurants etc. No plug sockets near bed so gave us an extension for hubby's c-pac machine. Breakfast was delivered to room. Crush breakfast and hot sandwich - bacon, sausage or veggie sausage. The sausage option was more like spam and horrid, couldn't eat it. Corners of the room very, very dusty and unkept. Our room was first floor overlooking main road so very noisy. No room cleaning which was fine. Would be happy to stay here again once update are complete.

Clean comfortable room with on suite bathroom Wi Fi in all areas good Breakfast is a grab and go style left at the room door , however when i stayed the breakfast was not delivered even by the time we were ready to check out , as the food was provided by an outside caterer they did not deliver the food in time for guests to get the breakfast , a refund was given for the breakfast

We recently stayed for 2 nights in Jurys Inn, Jeffrey Street, Edinburgh. We were unsure what to expect with hotels just opening up recently in Scotland. The positives were as follows: the hotel is fairly convenient to Princes Street with all the shops and you can cut through Waverley rail station on to Princes street. The Edinburgh Dungeon Museum is very close to the hotel. We also loved the views of the Edinburgh skyline at night from the hotel room window. The hotel felt very quiet which was expected and staff at the hotel were very professional and friendly. The negative: we had booked breakfast with our original booking over 6 weeks previously as part of a deal that came up on the website. We have stayed in Jurys before and liked the wide choice of breakfasts - we loved the hot breakfasts etc and were looking forward to that allowing for social distancing etc. When we arrived we were told that breakfast would be prepackaged and delivered to the room in bags each morning early and left outside door. We were told that the restaurant was not opening for breakfast but would open for dinner. We were really disappointed because we had received no advance warning or e-mail etc. We were not offered a refund for the breakfasts etc. The breakfasts themselves were a “healthy” option which included fruit, croissant and some type of “healthy” Muesli that we hated. We were so looking forward to a hot breakfast with eggs,bacon etc and tea/coffee. We ended up leaving most of the items in the bag and going out to breakfast both days. We understand that Covid-19 has changed the world but Jurys need to be better on communicating changes or offering a refund or alternatives. It could have let us know days in advance that we were not going to get a proper breakfast or let us know at the time of booking. We paid a lot for the breakfast option based on a proper full breakfast. If this was not possible Jurys should have given us the option to cancel breakfast. We had a wonderful trip to Edinburgh and strongly recommend a visit. Jurys was fine except for the lack of communication in advance about breakfast. Needs to be more open with customers so that they can make informed decisions or choose to eat outside of the hotel.

Can't fault the location, across the road from Edinburgh Waverley and backing on to the Royal Mile. However, as a result, it's very noisy with the noise of the station and the road. The double glazing doesn't cut it. But if street noises don't bother you, you'll be fine in that respect. I was quite disappointed by the room, though. I have stayed in Jury's Inns before and they have been very good. This one looks like it needed a refurb about 10 years ago. Tatty furniture and fittings, filthy windows, dusty shelves and grimy carpets. The bed was comfortable enough and I slept well. The breakfast wasn't too bad - great choice. The staff were a bit grumpy - throwing the metal spoon on the plate once I dared to leave it in the mushroom pan. I was also disappointed by the reception service. I asked for some more milk as we had used up the 4 little milk pots in the room. She gave us another 4 but refused to give us any more which I found really stingy and a bit rude. Overall, I enjoyed my stay because we were out all the time but Jury's Inn could pull their finger out to be a bit more hospitable. And cleaner.

A good base for a short trip to Edinburgh, 2 minutes from the train station which is a bonus. Good clean room, really good breakfast with a great choice, I particularly liked that I could have crumpets as I love them. Very near to the all attractions, the castle, the Xmas market - which was amazing and central for all restaurants and bars.

Very cheap deal for hotel in an ideal location. Breakfast was included and was nice, staff were also friendly. Only complains would be that we had a room on the back and it was very load from outside and the hotel had an overwhelming smell of air freshener!!! Bedding also dirty with a tissue in 😫

A group of us stayed while on a night out, helpful and friendly staff, very accommodating. The 24hour room service was also good the pizzas were delicious. Would come back, thanks

My friend and I stayed one night at this hotel on a deal. Everyone we spoke to from check-in to waiting staff at breakfast were so helpful. It was clean maybe needing a little updating but wasn’t a problem. Would use again if in Edinburgh.

There was a time when Jurys Inn had an excellent reputation for comfort and service, not any longer. Rooms aren't just tired they have died and are slowly rotting. Carpets threadbare. Lighting dismal, decoration and fitments cheap and outdated. This hotel wasnt cheap and it certainly wasnt worth the price charged. There are other hotels in the centre which offer a much higher standard for a lot less money, travelodge for example. Dont waste you money on this hotel.

Hotellet ligger meget centralt til alting virkelig sødt personale, hyggelig bar og restaurant, lækker mad. Men, de har virkelig et problem med deres nøglekort!! 6 gange virkede vores ikke, ret irriterende. Andre med Vitus havde også problemer. Rengøring, ikke så godt. Man bruger åbenbart ikke at have toilet børster hverken på hotellet eller rundt på de forskellige pubber og restauranter.

good points - Very near royal mile and slept comfortably, good hairdryer. Check out 2pm included for superior room. Bad points - Rooms bit grubby and dated and water for shower not very hot but overall it was ok

Este hotel está en una excelente ubicación a unos minutos a pie de la estación de Waverly y Prince Street, pero la habitación era horrible. No es lo que esperábamos en absoluto. Las fotos lo dicen todo realmente. Muebles muy anticuados, alfombras, cortinas, etc. Silla vieja de minky, alfombra raída, ducha descascarada. ¡Ducha fría! Tuberías muy ruidosas cuando alguien arriba o al lado (no estoy seguro de cuál) descargó el inodoro. La cama era cómoda, eso era todo. ?

Perfecte lokatie nabij de Royal Mile in Old Town maar ook vlakbij New Town. Prima hotel met heerlijk uitgebreid ontbijt.
