Visited this place several times and it is always very welcoming with good service. The menu is extensive and the food delicious. Good prices too. And of course a wonderful view from many of the tables.

Walked all the way along from the rail bridge end looking for a place for coffee and glad we chose Orocco Pier. Staff were very friendly and welcoming, service was good, view out over the Forth was excellent and the toilets were very good. Often places let themselves down by neglecting the toilets. All in all, very happy to have dropped in.

The food was amazing and excellent value for money. The staff were helpful and very friendly. A great way to celebrate our son's 30th birthday!

On the food front I thought it was pricey, given the portion sizes, which were small. I was looking forward to the coleslaw with my burger. I think it was most likely two teaspoons that were served - not much eating in that. Thought the booze too was massively overpriced. Nice view and good service but really would like value for money on the consumables too.

Booked for lunch declared ,shellfish allergy, was told. That they could not guarantee cross contamination asked how serious the allergy was ,I have an episode pen. Was told that someone should have contacted me about it ,they did not, waste of a journey and paying for parking. Will not be back. If you have any allergies avoid this place.

I have been here many times over the years and always found it to be lovely with some great food and service. Sadly on the 30th of Aug 2016 I visited again for the first time in several years. I had been excited and was left very disappointed. Service: disorganised and ineffectual... if someone has eaten two bites of their food it is a servers job to ask if there is a problem. Several people serving one table is not conducive to a good experience. Food: bland, over cooked, and severally lacking in imagination. The chips were the worst chips I have ever had in my life. Tasted like they were cooked last week. Setting: Just as lovely as always

Myself and 5 friends were in for Sunday lunch for a special occasion. Starters were fine, nothing special but not bad. Three of us ordered the Sunday roast on recommendation of our waiter (who granted, was pleasant enough) and who commented that the Yorkshire puddings "were delicious as he'd had the roast for his lunch". As our tables food arrived, he placed one roast down in front of my friend commenting "sorry girls but we've run out of Yorkshire puddings" - dreadful etiquette! You don't tell a customer something is missing from their order as you place it in front of them. Beef was fatty and covered in what tasted like Chinese 5 spice. "Roast" potatoes were infact baby potatoes that had just been fried, obviously for ease and veg was boiled. No substitute for missing Yorkshire puddings. These consist of milk, flour and eggs...a kitchen couldn't make more?! Ridiculous... I suspect not much is made from scratch here. Three of us sent back roasts as were unhappy, alternatives ordered and obviously, came at different times. Mash potato clearly microwaved. Crab and rocket salad contained absolutely no rocket and had to be sent back - my friends second meal to go back to the kitchen! They told us drinks would be on house. Bill came and bottle of wine and a glass of prosecco and a white wine removed, rest of drinks and our replacement mains still on there. Had to argue point out of principle with restaurant manager (who granted, was very nice but didn't take control of the situation). Made to feel as if we were being picky and were starred at by staff on way out. Farcical.Don't bother. Go to the boat house next door instead. Used to like this place but won't be back. Dreadful.

Really great service, friendly service where nothing was too much trouble. Food was lovely and the views across the river towards the Forth bridge were amazing. Highly recommended.

We popped into The Milnes Bar to use the loo and asked if we could fill up our water bottles. The staff were incredibly accommodating and happy to help, which we really appreciated. It’s always nice to come across a place that’s welcoming, even for a quick stop. Thank you!

I almost never leave reviews, but I felt I had to because I felt so ripped off here. I'm a local and had time to kill before work so I popped in for lunch. The staff were friendly and the service was quick, but I got the smallest piece of avocado toast I've ever seen for a tenner. I'm still hungry. I sort of knew it would be a mistake to go somewhere touristy but now I know I definitely won't be back. There are nicer places on Cockburn Street, never mind the rest of the Old Town.

We ate here before the Lion King with the VIP Ambassador Lounge deal and it was all very good . I had read some of the negative reviews and was a bit wary after booking but it was a really nice experience. The food was fine , we had chicken skewers and soup and burgers and there was no complaints , but the service was excellent . The girls who served us were efficient and very friendly. They took us up to the lounge and again we had friendly service . All made for a great night , well done
