We stayed here for 2 nights while visiting Kirkcudbright. Although there was space in the car park, we left the car parked on the road, as it was fairly quiet. Check in was quick and efficient. The receptionist was welcoming and showed us to our room. This was a garden room. Lovely and comfortable room, proper radiators rather than heaters which was welcome. The food, not particularly expensive for these days, was high quality, great portion sizes and absolutely delicious! Probably the best fish & chips we’ve ever had and definitely the best onion rings. We were pretty to central to Kirkcudbright so could walk rather than get in the car. The Stewartry Museum is well worth a visit as is Kirkcudbright. Very pretty coloured houses.

Table was booked for 6:45 pm Food was pretty good. Service left much to be desired, brought water and wine. Had to open the wine ourselves? We asked for the desert menu and was pestered 3 times within 5mins if we wanted a sweet. Staff seemed like they could not get rid of us quick enough! We had to ask for the bill twice. We would not go back.

Had been working in and around Glasgow all day, and was in the need for something to eat, but more something on the go. As I was near by, decided upon the Kent Chip Shop. Nice little place with all the usual stuff, so ordered a sausage supper, which was freshly prepared in no time. Maybe a tad on the pricey side, but all in all, filled a hole and was very tasty.

Absolutely recommended restaurant. The location at the train station may be intimidating, but inside there is a feel-good atmosphere. The meal was excellent. The mussels were very tasty, fish and chips with the tartar sauce were good and the shepherds pie was also very good. The pea soup was rather thick and moderately tasty. For dessert we had a cheese cake which was strong but tasty.
