The service was impeccable from the greeting to the server (thank you Oli), and the food was just spectacular. We each had the 2-course prix fix and a side. And a great IPA. Highly recommend.

Took my family here on vacation from US (8 people) having experienced the Boston restaurant myself I thought this would be a great experience for them. I was wrong. The waitress was great. The food was mediocre at best the rib eye steaks we got were over cooked. The porterhouse steaks under cooked. The main reason we went was for the Beef Willington but they were out of it and one of the chicken dishes. None of the food came at the same time some of us waiting over 5 minutes after the first steak was served. With 2 people not ordering a meal just sharing a porterhouse steak. The meal came to over 950£ for 4 porterhouse steaks, 2 ribeye steaks and 3 starters with 5 cocktails. I don't mine paying for a good meal but this was overpriced for what we got.

The Sunday roast was absolutely delicious. The Yorkshire pud was crispy and chewy, the prime rib was cooked to perfection and paired with the creamy horseradish sauce it made a perfect dish!

I have watched the beef Wellington on TV so many times by GR, that I wanted to taste it for myself. It was disappointing. After making this dish myself, I was unimpressed. A couple of the other reviews mentioned the need for salt and pepper, and I would agree. The potatoes were thick almost gluey, different from what I was expecting. The sauce was lacking as well. For a $180 experience and many years of watching Ramsey on Hell's Kitchen shout his expectations, I walked away disappointed. Shut 'er down! It felt more like a chain restaurant than a dining experience. On top of that management needs to pay better attention to the cleanliness of their restrooms. I will leave out the details but unfortunately, I had to race home to my flat to shower (packing up my desserts that came with the experience). Being we were only the 2nd set of diners of the afternoon, I can't imagine the bathrooms were cleaned that day or the night before. Leaving with tears in my eyes, and not sure if I will be able to think about or see Wellington without getting a little sick inside. So disappointing after having such excitement to finally make a dream come true.

The wife had the Chicken Tikka Masala, it was ok but the naan was not good. She also had the fried cauliflower starter that was bland. I had the pork ribs that were good with a side salad that had grit in it like it had not been washed and the dressing was nondescript, I did not even finish it. I am a fan of Gordon Ramsey and was very disappointed.

Menu choices were excellent, service was relaxed, can’t wait to come back

Came to Edinburgh from North Yorkshire with a friend for 4 days for a change of scenery. Both of us have never been to a Gordon Ramsey Restaurant before as there are none around our area and the closest one would be 3 hours away, so we thought that we would give it a try. Well!! What can I say.... The food was amazing and the price is reasonable Most of all, the service from Danielle was fantastic.. She was very friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend going especially if you haven't been before..

As you would expect, Excellent experience. The food is delicious and they have a wide variety. The service is awesome and the atmosphere is great.

Oliver our waiter was superb. He made us feel welcomed and special. Not only was Oliver great so was the food. Having come from the restaurant world we enjoyed observing an efficient team doing a marvellous job.

We showed up without reservations and the hostess most graciously found us a table. Then we had Piera who was a gem of a server!! The food was delicious and a beautiful setting - a fantastic experience!

The service and food was outstanding!!! From the moment we walked in we felt welcomed. We were celebrating my Mother-in-laws 66th birthday and Piera made sure she felt special! Thank you Piera for going above and beyond, your joyful spirit and kindness made our evening in Edinburgh one to remember 🤗

I booked this restaurant for my partners birthday lunch as he absolutely loves gordon Ramsay and wow what a lovely experience we had staff couldn’t do enough very attentive & so well mannered our waitress was Alessandra she was just lovely for starters I got fish & my partner got the chicken wings both outstanding he even ordered a second portion then we both had the iron steak with chips salad & added buttered spinach & mash oh my absolutely delicious so tasty cooked to perfection , the restaurant knew it was my partners birthday they brought him the plate with a happy birthday on it with a little candle just to add that extra special experience. Highly recommend place is stunning staff are lovely food outstanding we will definitely be back soon thankyou Sara & Eddie

Complained of a rocking table which was promptly rectified with bits of cardboard. Fish and chips no where near as good as rose street pubs and water at £6 per bottle a complete rip off. All in all a very disappointing experience and very overpriced for what it is. Go to Rose street pubs for a better value and tastier meal

Honestly, of a 2-week trip to Scotland and Ireland, this was the biggest let-down we can think of! It took 5 minutes to be greeted by a hostess, Our food took forever, came out at all different times, waiter was overwhelmed with all the tables he was running, and the beef wellington was bland. We were so looking forward to this, saved up a long time, had huge expectations being that it's a Gordon Ramsey restaurant, but a HUGE let down.

My entrée was disappointing because the Cod was fine; however, the food was cold and the desert was dry. I did enjoy the Tuna Tartare. Service was excellent; however, after the main and desert, the server forgot us waiting for the bill. A barcode was available but due to my phone not connecting, My husband and I waited 30 extra minutes to pay the bill. My overall experience was below average. To iterate, the servers and receptionist were amazing.

It was 9:00pm on a Saturday and the kitchen closed? Do yall know how to run a business during busy hours?

My husband and I enjoyed a delicious dinner at BSK the night before we returned home from Edinburgh. We had an early dinner so took advantage of the seasonal set menu (valid until 6 pm). The menu was limited but the "Mains "(steak and lamb) were well worth the reasonable price. The Cauliflower Velouté starter was delicious. The dessert was good but rather common. The real stand-out, however, was the server, Silvia da Silva who made dining at BSK a delight. It's hard to remember a dining experience so enhanced by the server. Personable, knowledgeable, and charming, Silvia made our dinner at BSK something to remember. Between SIlvia and the reasonably priced set menu, our last night in Edinburgh was memorable!

Beautiful restaurant, and nice staff. We ordered the Beef Wellington and I was very disappointed. It was undercooked and not tasty. Mushroom coating overpowered. I had such high hopes 😩

Oh well… We were really looking forward to a culinary highlight in Edinburgh, but unfortunately nothing came of it. There were 7 of us and no one was really enthusiastic. Our main waiter was super friendly, but that was about it when it came to service. 3 people got their drinks straight away, the other 4 had to wait. They were already standing at the bar ready to serve, but only after we mentioned it, after about 10 minutes, did they come - no apology or anything, more like an annoyed face from the waiter (another waiter). Everyone ordered something different when it came to eating, but none of us were full and the taste was also rather sobering. For example, I had butter chicken and what can I say - even the Thermomix does it better. When paying, we could choose whether one person would pay for everything or the bill would be divided by 7. We've already noticed that this is common practice in Scotland, but even smaller cafes have managed to make us pay separately for what we actually consume. The only plus point: the desserts were excellent. Conclusion: Price performance doesn't match at all, at least at this location and I can only say: you can really save the money.

Food was ok .. obviously expensive £ tbh wasn’t worth the cost & had to send my sirloin back, couldn’t cut it as it was so fatty however it was quickly rectified . Jason our waiter was awesome..

Just left this place as my son was treating me to lunch my first time in here but definitely won't be my last the young man who served us was so nice and very welcoming like nothing to much trouble so thank you Jason you are a credit to the company and hope you serve me on my next visit and the food was amazing

Restaurant to avoid, Caesar salad with just salad, a little cheese and 3 anchovies at the price of 14 pounds sterling. A shame. We will only remember a friendly young waiter, almost embarrassed to charge people 😩 Move on and go treat yourself elsewhere Given the quality of the dish we had no wine, dessert or coffee, in short we paid and left.

One of the best steaks I had Starter was ok ( had the Umami wings ) Main course was great 9/10 (Grilled Flat Iron Steak ) My Tip : Catch the seasonalset menu which is valid weekdays untill 6 pm and it will be a great value for money

We went for dinner on Friday and it was a lovely experience. We had a Virgin Experience Voucher as a gift for our anniversary to use so we had to book via email - no issues there, staff was super prompt with their reply. If you have the voucher just note that it might be a 3 course meal within a timeframe (we went there at 5pm). The restaurant is really nice and the staff was caring and lovely! I didn’t take any photos but the wings, steak, and lamb ribs on the set menu were excellent. Highly recommend. We also had a chocolate brownie with ice cream that was a real warm treat.

Long wait for drinks, didn't get offered any refills during our 2 hour visit, tried to flag down waiter and eventually got an order in but then had to cancel them as took so long to arrive. Plates not cleared until we asked for this either. We only managed to get one course in. We wanted dessert but everything took so long we ran out of time. Food wasn't great, especially for the price. Steak beautiful but fish and chips not good. Mushy peas were stone cold on the Fish & chips, chips hard and not soft centered - seemed undercooked. Fish batter wasn't crispy it was wet and almost slimy. Curry was OK but not wow.

One of our party had fish and chips. This was good to be fair. However two of the party wanted to try the chickpea and aubergine curry. It was awful . There was no aubergine only chickpea and carrots. It was very watery and the naan bread was stale. To say I was shocked is an understatement. I’ve had better at weatherspoons. Veggie food should not be second best. I didn’t complain on the day as I always think it comes across that we want a freebie. That is not the case. I emailed feedback to the chef and asked for a response. I didn’t get one which is why I’m completing this.

Ordered the butter chicken curry was most disappointed. Portion was tiny. Tasted okay but very similar to an M & S ready meal. Restaurant was practically empty- will not be going back

After a wonderfully transformative experience at Gordon's Kansas City Steakhouse stateside, my sister and I wanted to make our last night in Edinburgh special by dining here. Unfortunately we were left disappointed. At £90 per person for the Beef Wellington experience, we felt there were some huge misses on the offerings, but especially so on the overcooked (hard in fact) pastry surrounding the Beef Wellington. The saddest part fell on the inattentive service in obtaining drinks. I won't be back to Scotland for a while, but should I go, I'd be hard pressed to return here. I felt this experience was average at best, certainly not befitting the expectations and costs attached.

on our 5th trip - food is always delicious. The Beef wellington is extra special.

I paid attention to this restaurant only because they have blankets on the summer area. We just wanted to have coffee, but it was closed. Later we came for lunch. I call this type of place a special occasion place. When we arrived, I didn’t expect anything from this place, I just wrapped myself in a blanket, we were the only ones sitting on the summer terrace. I liked the service and the food too. We ate ribs and lasagna. My friend and I were pleased, this place was the main event of that day. I recommend it, I would come back again. For me the atmosphere is very important. The only negative is the 12.5 percent service charge, which I did not expect.

Our waitress cholesterol was absolutely phenomenal along with the food. Crab toast was my favourite. Thanks guys

Took my partner for Sunday lunch & all I can say is WOW I had corn fed chicken which was possibly the best tasting chicken I have eaten , the vegetable were absolutely cooked to perfection. My partner had the beef & she was blown away how tasty the vegetables were & she loved the beef. Our waiter was Alastair who was excellent, very polite & curtious (if you read this Gordon he deserves a pay rise ) Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Edinburgh & your looking for great food & amazing staff ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I have eaten here two times during the Fringe Festival and have been able to get a table with no waiting time. The cocktails are very good as is the food. Tried both the set menu and a la carte.

Brand Damaging Experience. Having recently enjoyed a faultless dining experience at Ramsey's The River restaurant, at the Savoy, we were keen to enjoy the same standard at this restaurant in Edinburgh, but the difference was like night and day! We were served bland coffee and orange juice that we could see being served from a carton... surely £7.50 for a glass of OJ warrants freshly squeezed rather than a tetra packed delivery. My wife ordered a full Scottish breakfast, which was not full as there were items missing - I won't even describe the lack of care that went into preparing the eggs. The server did ask if we would like something else - but why would we have more of the same? Very disappointed. If the staff need some ideas of how to improve - maybe they should watch an episode of Kitchen Nightmares.

We visited Bread Street Kitchen after a day of Festival fun. We had our 2 x 4 legged pals with us and decided to ask if we could sit outside with our pets to have some dinner. Front of House young lady explained that our pals were more than welcome to enter the restaraunt with us to have our dinner. We were ushered to a nice table and the dogs were immediately given water and 2 doggy biscuits. The menu was clear, reasonably priced with a good range of dishes to suit anyone. We had classic fish n chips and a tasty cod in red wine jus. Followed by fabulous classic sticky toffee pudding and delicious scoops of ice cream. The service we received was fast, friendly and such nice manners from all the staff. Definitely highly reccomend a visit to enjoy the vibe and food with your family, friends and pets.

Absolutely amazing! We were really looking forward to finally trying Gordon Ramsay's beef wellington, and it did not disappoint ! I think the sticky toffee pudding stole the show though. A must try for sure. My wife and I planned this trip from Canada to Scotland for years to celebrate our 25th, and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect dining experience . From the food to the service, it was all great! Thanks to all the staff for making our special evening one to remember.

Beautiful restaurant with great location. Was seated promptly and staff were friendly. Drinks and apps were excellent and tasty. However, 3 of the 4 main meals arrived cold, including steak , which was also very tough, chips undercooked. Overall was expensive for quality received.

Service by original waiter was lackluster. He never brought my Caesar salad until I asked for it. Glass of champagne came late, after salad. When main was served, did not have bernaise or the red wine glass ordered. Had to ask for them. The potatoes on the side were dry. The restaurant was only half filled at 7 pm. The ribeye was cooked to order but a bit tough. Overall, a disappointment at $140 Americans for one.

Was looking forward to visiting here on our latest trip to Edinburgh, surely a restaraunt that Gordon Ramsay has put his name to must be good..... Uum unfortunately not!!! Burrata starter OK, but you can't really go wrong with that, Haggis starter looked like a 5 year old had made it, burnt and looked unappealing with no garnish, ribs for main again not a hard dish to do but quite flavourless and not much sauce. Now this is where it gets interesting, potted crab main course with crumpets which we expected to be hand made, they were bloody Warburtons!!! £28 for a pot of crab, 2 warburtons crumpets and 3 pickled gherkins, you're having a laugh..... Desert sticky toffee pudding, run of the mill, gluten free choice chocolate cup with sorbet, OK but was expected to eat it without a spoon because they'd run out of spoons..... As you can guess we won't be returning!!!

The service is impeccable! Jason was informed and helpful beyond expectation. The fish and chips were delicious as was the cheesecake and pistachio ice cream. The atmosphere was fun yet calm. We will definitely return.

Visited restraunt so disappointing. Butter chicken curry was delicious however it looked more like a starter. Asked for more rice and was charged another £4 making this £25 in total not good value for money. Service was not the best.

We had a very disappointing beef wellington here. The only redeeming features were the pleasant service by the staff and the mashed potato. I regret saving this place for last -- literally any other meal we've had on our trip would have been a better meal to end on. I had disregarded the bad reviews thinking they were more about the price than the taste, but unfortunately I was wrong.

First time here, and even though the dish I ordered wasn’t my personal favourite, all the other food especially the ribs (!) were amazing and we had the best service experience from our waitress Nahla. When we had to admit the dish I ordered wasn’t the best she was really kind and took it off the bill. The good atmosphere & great service really made our dinner a great experience!

Rains like nuts in Edinburgh. Coat rack so you don’t have to sit with soaked coats.

Plenty of attention/assurance throughout our meal. The food quality was magnificent. If we are in the city again, we would not hesitate to visit again. Well done to the staff!

I had made a reservation for this restuarant and was excited to try out the food. I was very disappointed though. I showed up at my reservation time and had to wait to even speak to a host/hostess. Nobody was at front of house. It took about 5 minutes to get someone's attention and when we were seated the person basically tossed the menus on the table and didn't say a word. So far, not great, but whatever, it happens. We waited for 15 minutes for a waiter/waitress to take our drink order, but nobody ever showed up. We had decided on our entrees at that point and still had seen multiple people walk right by our table. Looking around it wasn't very busy and everyone within eyesight had food already. Anytime I saw an employee with was them cleaning off a table. After not having drinks/water after 15 minutes I decided to leave. I even walked by an employee on the way out and they didnt even bother to stop me. It was a pretty bad expereience and I expect better when I'm going to be paying premium prices for food.

The meal was excellent! What struck me...the one palm tree next to table thirty doesn't look so happy! Thanks for the great service!

I can't rate this place highly enough. The food was excellent and worth the price, so much selection and the cocktails were fantastic. Rafael and our server Chris were just so attentive and friendly. I mentioned my garlic intolerance and Chris made sure to find out which dishes were safe etc. Also as I was celebrating my 40th birthday, I was treated so wonderfully and got little special treats to mark to occasion. It really is the little things that count and I will certainly be going back x

Came for a birthday dinner and had a wonderful meal. Callie our waitress was very good and super down to earth. Something to note if you’re not from Europe, dinner is viewed as a whole evening event here. It’s meant to take time, chat, and enjoy. It’s not a rushed meal. The haggis bites are a great way to get a reluctant person to try haggis and the sticky toffee pudding was perfection.

It is very bad choice - if you know how to cook at home you would be disappointed . Basic food basic deco - GORDON time to give a visit - is needed asap . I work in hospitality and I have to say - BIG CHANGE is needed there . People come with expectation and leaving forever .
