Bath Street Palomino in Glasgow City

We booked the restaurant last minute online as we stayed nearby with two young kids. When we arrived, the waiter didn't seem to know about our booking, but did have a table available. We were offered menus and our orders were served quickly. The food was good for the price and service was generally good and we were given boxes for the kids leftovers. Off looking past the decor, I would have given it an 8 /10, however not long before we were leaving, the manager (or owner) had a guy in to check out their fire alarm system and decided to switch it on, which he did not warn us about and one of our kids were especially affected by such a loud noise, for future reference, please advise your customers of such a test! If you're looking for a quick and reasonably priced meal, this works well and the staff were very helpful and friendly.

Went in for a quick beer and something to eat. Great service and fantastic food. The deep fried pickles are to die for. We will be back

We came here for the 2 for 1 deal, but turns out you’ll need to order a drink each to redeem this deal. Soft drinks are £4 so bills ended up at £11 per person, wasn’t really 2 for 1. Very empty on a week day afternoon, food was quite bland, wouldn’t recommend.

Not the busiest place I've been to, but we had booked so in we went. We ordered hot drinks, unfortunately my friends milk was sour, the waiter/barman/cook happily changed it but not a good start :( The Groupon had stated full a la carte menu but we had the choice of any starter and only the basic main menu, burgers/pizza's were extra. Anyway, due to toothache and medical issues I ordered the pate with jam, as did my friend. It was absolutely delicious, a couple of more slices of bread would not have gone amiss though. We both had to leave some due to lack of bread. I ordered maccy cheese as a main, my friend had the chicken supreme. My maccy cheese arrived and it was in a skillet so it was bubbling hot my friends dish was a poor looking comparison. My main looked the part but unfortunately there was a layer of mozzarella under the toasted top, followed by an excess of mozzarella in the cheese sauce. At times it was like chewing a massive lump of chewing gum, not pleasant :( My friend said her chicken was dry, although due to it being but a morsel on the plate, I didn't personally try it. The potatoes and red pepper sauce were lovely, although not quite nice enough to save the chicken. To top it all off we had to ask for the bill twice as the waiter was more interested in his conversation with his friend. Not somewhere I would hurry back to.

A very cool place with amazing cocktails. Bar man was super friendly and nothing was a bother. Cocktails were mainly £6.95 - some classic cocktails £5 on Sunday to Wednesday. Pizza and burger deals too. Totally worth the visit.

My partner and I booked a table last night at palomino's and we were not disappointed. The food was delicious as was the coconut snowball cocktails. Excellent customer service! The chef made amazing sauces! Definitely will return here.

This place is incredible. I went for my friend's birthday dinner during the week, and the mac and cheese was the best I've ever had. The starters were fantastic, and the waiter/bartender was outstanding. I'll definitely be back!

The whole of the downstairs area smelled like a toilet

We went to the restaurant last night using an Itison voucher, the food was amazing and it was full portions, I know with deals the portions are sometimes smaller but they were not in here, the service was great too our waiter was lovely and so very polite which is always nice to have, would definitely recommend and we will definitely return

Would give it one star if I could, was out with work friends and we were seated in a booth which the chairs were all ripped and worn. The place is an awful stench of staleness and smelt like a toilet if I am being honest. So far wasn’t off to a good start however have it the benefit of the doubt, ordered small plates and when they brought out the plates for us to put our food on the plates they gave us were dirty and cracked 🤢. The food was standard but overall would not go back.

Friendly enough but understaffed. Mussels were overcooked and pasta dishes lacked any flavour. Not a place we will return to.

The food was tasty! Especially the Palomino burger and the bacon and cheese fries. The Merlot wine was extremely delicious and the service was nice. The service was slow, but it was worth it because it was very yummy. We didn’t check the bathroom, but heard some bad reviews on it. Overall the food and service was awesome, so we gave it a 5 stars.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Dined here via a Groupon voucher 2 course meal for 2 people £24. There were better deals available straight from the restaurant. There was only one other table occupied but it was only 5pm.The starters were just okay, not very warm though. Main courses, the Ny chilli cheese pasta was okay but the chicken supreme was awful, it was overcooked and dry and the sauce came straight out of a can of tomato soup 😞😞. Only 1 person serving drinks and food, had to go to the bar to get more drinks and the bill.

Really good food. Enjoyed every bit of it. Staff was very friendly and gave a warm welcome. The cocktails really had a professional taste. The pizza is really good specifically the goat cheese pizza, Mac and cheese and fries will be my top favourite. Will definitely come here again.

Really underwhelming. No atmosphere. £12 for a burger without fries. The mozzarella sticks are clearly from a frozen packet. Sorry owners but this restaurant need to up it's game.

It was a nightmare trying to contact them via telephone but we eventually tracked them down, but it was well worth the hassle. We had a wowcher deal for 3 with cocktails and a 2 course meal, initially we were told that it had to be starters and a meal from the main menu with no pizza or burgers, which we found to be strange as the majority of pizzas and burgers were actually cheaper but hey ho. What we did have though was excellent Starters we had a selection of garlic mushrooms, meatballs and ham and cheese croquettes, everyone of them was delicious and for mains we had a burger (very nice) but had to order a side of chips, chicken enchiladas (very very tasty) and the NY philli chilli cheesesteak pasta again very tasty. 3 very good cocktails followed and as they had ran out of certain ingredients allowed us to choose anything from the varied cocktails menu. Overall the 3 of us enjoyed our meal and would go back and can't understand some of the negative reviews from only the week before.

PLEASE AVOID. Joke of an establishment. Gets 1 star across the board. Weird staff, AWFUL food and atmosphere is equally strange. I wouldn’t recommend this if it was the last restaurant in the country.

Had an Itison deal, £5 for chicken enchiladas, well worth the money. Very nice food, server was very friendly and helpful throughout. Only slight criticisms were the plate was cold and the building itself cold so make sure to wrap up if your coming in for lunch otherwise would have given 5 stars.

I was supposed to have had a booking, of which I called to confirm. I showed up at the restaurant at 2pm and it wasn’t even open despite being told on the phone that they definitely would be open at this time.

Lovely place tried for the first time today and it certainly won't be my last visit. When I came in I was greeted by a friendly smile and welcome and shown over to my pre reserved table in a friendly manner. Food was really tasty and generous portions , very fresh and enjoyable had a table beside the window which was great as I do enjoy people watching. Main course was the palomino burger it was absolutely beautiful and had a great amount of toppings and the burger was juicy and cooked to perfection. Dessert , only my son had desert as I was full from the burger. Lovely little gem of a place perfectly situated in the middle of Bath street great if your going for pre theatre like I was today. Thankyou very much look forward to my next visit 😀

AVOID AT ALL COST - Food, drinks, atmosphere, toilets was absolutely awful. Toilet was very unhygienic, mould on roof and water dripping from roof. Drink and food was very tasteless, cold and we left every single bit. Complete waste of money. ~Replying to restaurant comment~ We did inform our waiter both about the drinks and food. We gave him the 2 main meals (macaroni & pizza) back, when asked how the food was. Which he took back to the kitchen. We also asked our waiter for any nearby toilets, as gents toilet had roof leak right above toilet. Which he was helpful about. Hopefully this all gets fixed, as the location is excellent. Thanks.

Wife and I in Glasgow for a couple of nights including a theatre booking which required us to eat early. By chance noticed, and booked, a special '2 Course Deal' advertised by the Palomino. As a 'Special Deal' we were expecting a restricted menu but having received a warm welcome were offered a free choice of starter and main from the A La Carte dinner menu. For starter my wife had chicken Wings and I had Calamari, for mains it was Chicken Enchiladas and Pasta Pescatore all excellent and generous helpings and washed down with a very nice and reasonably priced house red wine. We will certainly go back when in Glasgow again. Thanks to the staff for an very pleasant pre show meal.

We were there 3/4 o'clock, it was mid wk and quiet. Starter and main good, dessert only 2 choices. Main course , great burger but not very warm. Toilets downstairs. I don't think it was wheelchair friendly.

The servers were lovely just run off their feet. Doing the best they could definitely not enough staff on ! Food was average very reasonably priced . A huge notice on the wall advertising cocktails at £5 I had 2 as a treat! Turns out the small print said only on certain times and certain days. Ouch

So the infamous toilets... The Ladies' was visibly clean but you could smell pee from the top of the stairs going down to the toilets. Service was good. No issue using the Groupon. The calamari was chewy and the batter was too thick. The classic burger was good and the oven chips were great. Sticky toffee pudding as you'd expect.

Horrible! The poor waitress was all alone and we got no service. We booked a table and got no service. The bathroom was disgusting! The uraine smell was horrible and spiderwebs all over. The toilet paper was all over the floor. The place was SO COLD!!!

This restaurant is far overdue a refit, worn furniture beyond repair in some places, flooring has trip hazards and decor is long overdue, filthy and strong smelling of urine toilets and floor swimming in water, mirror and urinal were just disgusting Food is fair to average, burgers played on roofing slates, why!!!? A disgusting way to serve food. A July Thursday evening at 5pm and we're the only party (of5) seated. Service was ok and quickly enough to be served. A shattered wind to the frontage was covered by a blind. If I had seen the toilets pre ordering I'd have walked out as this concerns me for the cleanliness of the rest of the place which is the biggest negative for the restaurant, I could almost handle the roughness of the furnishings etc, but not the state of the toilet . I will not return, the restaurant has huge potential on the lower side of bath street but is let down in these areas, unfortunately I would not recommend this place until the above has been taken care of.

Ordered chicken supreme for the Mrs and it was a tiny chicken fillet with mash and wait for it.....in a tomato sauce. When did chicken supreme come with a tomato sauce? It's a white wine cream sauce is it not? My order of chicken enchilada was a burnt wrap with very little chicken in it. As for the toilets, it reminded me of the scene from Trainspotting, absolutely disgusting and the smell was awful. We won't be back.

Firstly, this is a cheap place with enjoyable food and good music. The service was friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, the standards of cleanliness are just not good enough. The gents’ bathroom was absolutely filthy and if I’d seen it before I ate my dinner, I’d have left on the spot.

Pizza were excellent,proper homemade fresh pizza, service slow and the place is quite tired looking and toilets not great but delicious food and great portion sizes.

My husband and I had a fab meal at Palomino. Although it was a Groupon deal they did not scrimp on portions or quality. We had a 3-course meal, (including the best veggie burger I’ve had in a long time) for an incredible price and very nicely presented. Yes you did have to pay extra for chips but well worth it and extremely generous portion. The 2 guys serving were extremely friendly without being intrusive. The only reason I have given a 4 and not 5 is that it was pretty quiet so lacked little atmosphere but I believe on theatre nights it’s busy. They also had a fantastic cocktail menu at great prices. We will certainly return and hope others give it a try too.

First time here today after receiving a voucher for 3 course meal from daughter. Unfortunately we will not be returning. First impressions.. the place could do with a thorough deep clean. Visible dust on the top of the banquette seats at the front of the restaurant, sticky menus and tabletops. Starters - ham and mozzarella croquettes were cold inside (surprising as we assume they were freshly prepared out of a fryer), then there was the bone we found in the chicken liver pate. The toast for the pate serving was also minuscule. Mains - Pork chop dish was fine, except for the very artificial tasting onion gravy. Chicken supreme was very small. The mash potato was microwave potato which actually contained hard parts from being heated without being stirred. However the red pepper sauce was lovely. Dessert - we both opted for the sticky toffee pudding with ice cream. One portion was warm, the other however didn't even get waved at the microwave.. stone cold. The restaurant in general was very cold, and we didn't even want to brave the bathrooms. Extremely disappointing and not recommended.

Dined on groupon 3crse Alacarte, sadly to start no Moretti on draught - only 2 draughts available (well 3 if you count the cold breeze) Food average, very disappointed despite on alacarte menu and ordering Burger at £12 it comes just as a burger (no fries no salad!) Then to have been charged for fries just didn’t seem right. Lacked atmosphere & toilets disgusting with hand-dryer out of action and no paper towels. Sadly won’t be back even on discounted deal.

I went to the place with some friends as had heard a lot about the place from others. I would say that everything served to us was extraordinary. The staff was really friendly. Moreover, the food ordered by us was delivered super soon and it was very delicious. We had a lot of things but the stars were the Mac n Cheese and Chicken Enchiladas. I would definitely recommend this place and would be visiting again. A must visit…✌️

Date night for me and my husband. We had never been before. We had a 5pm booking. The deal was amazing, 2 steaks and a bottle of Merlot for £40. The wine was excellent and steak cooked perfectly, thank you chef!! The front of house staff were lovely. Drinks menu was brilliant, so many cocktails at such a good price and good background music. I do have some criticisms though and this goes out to whoever owns this restaurant not the team. Please inject some cash into the place. It’s so bare and unloved looking. Maybe some nice pictures, some candles, new menus and reupholster your seating, it looks so bad. Sorry to be so critical but you have a nice site, good chefs and brilliant, hardworking front of house staff but as a well experienced restaurant manager I can’t believe these things aren’t addressed. I would have given 5 stars otherwise. Thank you to Samantha and the other staff, I didn’t get their names, sorry. These people are a credit to the business

Maybe we were just unfortunate but did not have a good visit. Came here on a Saturday early evening having pre-booked. No one was at the door so I had to wait at the bar until someone became available. Waited a bit before anyone came to take a drink order and then a while before the food order was taken, though we could see the staff were rushed off their feet. After we placed our order, it took 15-20 minutes for the server to return to tell us that one of the items we had order was finished. This happens, though it's disappointing that it took so long for him to come back to us for an alternative, though I imagine the kitchen was very busy too. Starters were very nice (garlic mushrooms and bruschetta) though the table next to us, who ordered after us, got served considerably sooner. Onen of our main meals was wrong; the server mistakenly gave us the order of the people next to us, but by the time we and they realised the mistake we had already agreed that we would eat it, as we were in a rush. The staff were apologetic and took the price of the meal off the bill, but given that we were eating from a set menu, it didn't amount to much of a discount. Whilst we were there, two other tables walked out due to the poor service. While I wish them no ill, I won't be back.

Great 2 coarse for £1395 ..lovely staff .yummy food .

We had booked a Groupon deal for two before going to the king's up the road. We booked the table for 5.30 which is usually enough time for 2 courses however tables that arrived after us were served first, we waited a while to be served. It took a good 30mins after being served to get out drinks. Our order was similar to customers seated beside and they got mixed up, this was blamed on a member of staff who wasn't even serving tables on that side of the restaurant and probably weren't informed. This was visible to customers how staff delt with the situation. We eventually got our main meal after ten past 7 having explained that we have to be at the show for half past. I had to ask 2 members of staff for a glass of water which eventually came and when we got our bill the voucher was not deducted. I understand that they may have been short staffed but customer service and manner could have been better. Samantha who wasn't serving our table however made a point to introduce herself and was helpful and apologetic, she moved my friend jacket to avoid getting dirty and was pleasant and chatting in the little interactions we had. The same cannot be said for other staff.

Had a fab meal with friends. Samantha is an asset to Palominos and nothing is too much bother for her. Think she deserves a wage rise as she not one Palominos wants to loose .

Visited with a friend recently and we actually couldn't spot the restaurant because from the outside it looks closed/shut down. We got the 2 courses for £13 pounds so didn't expect much but my meatball starter was cold when it arrived...as if it had maybe...

My son and I were finding it a challenge to locate a really good restaurant in Central Glasgow that was open so early in the New Year. When we almost literally stumbled upon the Palomino on Bath Street. One of those rare occasions when the Gods of cuisine look down upon you and bless you with a real treat. Not only were the staff truly delightful and helpful but the food was delicious and right up there with the very best I have enjoyed. At a price which was equally delightfully good value. This Restaurant fully deserves all 5 stars and if I ever came to live in Glasgow it would be top of my Restaurant list. Thank you so much for such a pleasant evening in every way.

I am sorry to say that this is a restaurant we will not be frequenting again.

We were here on Saturday night for a meal with two young children, we were instantly welcomed even though it was quite busy and given a nice table with space for the pram. The staff were friendly and helpful, got us a highchair and explained...
