Hadn't been for sometime and always recommended this small pub for lovely bar food. Unfortunately I was very disappointed this time. Took friends from down south. To me the kitchen couldn't cope with a large number (7). Food cold and in no way the standard it used to be. Got the order wrong but out of politeness we accepted as staff were very nice. Waited quite a bit for our main courses. There was only 2 starters so no excuse for delay in mains!! And not busy! Not overly expensive but in no way cheap!! Sorry but will not be back.

We enjoyed a lovely lunch on Wednesday at the Torrance Inn.Although we had not booked we were shown to a lovely table by the fire. The service, food and general ambience were all excellent hence the 5 star review. The manager and her assistant were both very attentive ensuring that everything was to our liking, they really take care of their customers.

They serve some of the best pub food in Edinburgh, and portions are very generous. Their Sunday roasts are definitely a must try, especially the one with pheasant (which also features haggis). Their highlander beef burger features the creamiest haggis I've ever tasted. Their sticky toffee pudding is also delicious. The atmosphere and the service are always very pleasant. I totally recommend.

My family and I were in yesterday Saturday 19th of January, food was amazing, I am vegetarian and the menu is the best vegetarian menu I have ever seen, there is about 7 meals I could have had, normal vegetarian menus in some restaurants only have 2 vegetarian dishes to choose from, keep up the good work, we will definitely be back

Husband booked an overnight as part of my birthday. He had emailed ahead to advise it was my birthday god loves a trier. Anyway we arrived around 3.30pm, lots of parking and you enter via the back of the building which i don’t think is very clear upon entering the car park. We only knew because we saw people leaving and asked them. We were welcomed by a male and he gave us a key for the room. When we entered the room it was a double bed, had tv, desk, coffee making facilities and a shower. As he booked through myhotel breaks a bottle of Prosecco was included in the overnight stay. The bottle of Prosecco was left along side a piece of paper saying happy birthday. Initially i did think they had left Prosecco but hubby advised no this was included in the stay anyway. Price of £169 includes 3 course meal, Meal the staff in restaurant were very nice and very friendly. We were served by an older lady with glasses and light blonde hair, she could not have been nicer, nothing too much trouble. For i had prawn cocktail which was delicious, husband had haggis pakora which he said was lovely. His main dish and chips, fish was good but chips were a little undercooked, i had chicken balmoral which was nice too but not enough peppercorn sauce and it was quite thick so didn’t go a long way. The vegetables were very hard. Could have been softer. Husband had dessert sticky toffee pudding which he said was nice. We had a few drinks in the bar, i had a french martini which was ok, he had jack d and coke which wasn’t standard. Then i had glass of rose Zinfandel which again was on, found the drinks quite expensive. Good choice of breakfast, it was nice. No square sausage so husband was a little disappointed. Again staff friendly at breakfast. Although we did enjoy it i don’t think we would return because nothing really stood out that would make us want to come back any time soon.
