Cove Bay Hotel in Aberdeen City

Lovely lunch with a friend at Cove Bay. It was quite busy but as we got there early there was no problem parking close to the front door. There is also a generous car park at the rear with a staircase indoors up to the restaurant and rooms above. My friend and I had the Cullen Skink as a main course and my friend followed this with a huge piece of sticky toffee pud. With soft drinks and coffees the bill came to just over £40.

Great stay, great food, great view of North Sea, great value!

We've been here a few times and food is always great. Good menu choice, service is great and the venue has good view over the sea. Food is slightly pricey though.

An amazing place to stay! Whilst away with work, had the pleasure of staying here for 3 nights. Food was fabulous, staff were just lovely, so friendly and helpful. Stunning views too. Our 2 rooms were warm and comfortable with sea views - just perfect!

Era el cumpleaños de nuestros hijos y como vivimos cerca del hotel optamos por ir allí para un almuerzo de cumpleaños. Reservé una mesa para 4 personas para las 12 del mediodía, ya que también nos acompañaba nuestra hija que viajó desde el otro lado de la ciudad para el almuerzo de celebración. Era un día amargamente frío y coincidía con la recepción fría a nuestra llegada de la señora del personal. Ella nos llevó a nuestra mesa y pidió nuestra orden de bebidas. Un hombre vino a nuestra mesa 5 minutos después con menús. Volvió 10 minutos después y tomó nuestros pedidos de comida. Todos optamos por la comida del menú del almuerzo. Mi hijo e hija eligieron envolturas y mi esposa y yo elegimos papas al horno. A la llegada de la comida a la mesa mis primeras impresiones fueron de porciones muy pequeñas. Elegí la papa al horno Cajun Chilli & Cheddar Melt que tenía 1 cucharada de chile en la parte superior con una sola rodaja de queso derretido. Todos los miembros de mi familia comentaron sobre la falta de relleno de chile encima de la papa de tamaño pequeño a mediano. Iba a quejarme pero mi esposa no quería que ningún alboroto estropeara la ocasión. Puedo añadir que regularmente tengo una papa al horno con relleno cuando vamos a otro lugar para el almuerzo y siempre es una alegría comer. Sin embargo, ciertamente no puedo decir eso sobre mi comida en el Cove Bay Hotel. El chef debe ser llevado a la tarea antes de enviar esta comida a la mesa. La patata se horneó perfectamente, así como la gran falta de relleno, pero mi comida era prácticamente toda la patata, que era una patata muy caro £ 8 , 50 p. Fui al bar a pagar la cuenta. La señora detrás de la barra nunca me preguntó si disfrutamos de nuestra comida, así que después de pagar le dije que estaba muy decepcionado con mi comida y explicó la razón. Su respuesta fue "Lo siento, se lo haré saber al chef". ¿Volveré otra vez a comer al hotel Cove Bay? Fue reserva de última hora como terminó en la zona inesperadamente, tenía carne asada del día y el marido tenía fajitas de pollo ambos eran geniales como de costumbre , el personal amable y rápido a pesar de que estaban ocupados con bastantes partidos más grandes también los votó para cena casual 2025

We went there for a Sunday lunch and were absolutely thrilled with the food! The kid's menu actually came with vegetables on the plate which for me as a nutritionist was really important to see! I went with catch of the day and was melting with every bite! Gorgeous! Even the burger looked beautifully hand made and delicious. Amazing staff as well and friendly service. Thank you

Honestly blown away by how lovely this hotel is - I booked just for a work trip but wish I'd stayed on for a holiday! The room was beautiful - looked almost freshly decorated and was impeccably clean and comfy. The food was delicious too, with great gluten free options. And most of all, all the staff were super helpful and smiley. Thank you all so much!

Visitamos con la familia en un domingo sabiendo que estaría ocupado por lo tanto, esperaba algunos problemas, estábamos preparados! Nos dieron una hermosa mesa de ventana que estábamos agradecidos. Lo que decepciona al hotel es que está siendo dirigido efectivamente por niños sin absolutamente ninguna experiencia de servicio al cliente, ni ninguna experiencia de hospitalidad, el servicio estaba tristemente por todo el lugar. Debemos haber tenido 6 servidores diferentes al menos, era obvio que todos estaban luchando. ¡Por favor, dueños, designen cada uno una sección y denles una clara capacitación en hospitalidad! La falta de ella era evidente, cuando el restaurante estaba tan ocupado. Todo el mundo estaba totalmente fuera de su profundidad, tristemente corriendo como pollos sin cabeza sin absolutamente ninguna orquestación ni apoyo de la dirección. Esperábamos siglos a que nos dieran nuestra orden de comida y tuvimos que detener a alguien ya que estábamos siendo totalmente ignorados. La comida era mediocre, el asado del domingo fue retirado del menú ya que se habían agotado, vamos Chef, ¿necesitas mirar tu planificación a futuro, no tener un ‘domingo sin asado’? Una verdadera pena que siendo un establecimiento local tiene el potencial de elevarse para garantizar el comercio durante todo el año. Subiendo la calidad de la comida así que es consistente, tuve fajitas de filete que eran arenosas y grasas, pero mi carne de res de amigos era excelente. Era una verdadera bolsa mixta. ¡Haz que el servicio sea correcto y consistente con la comida en todos los platos, entonces tiene potencial! Si usted está esperando un servicio elegante, entonces tienen un largo camino por recorrer!

My spouse and I had a great visit at Cove Bay Hotel. We only stayed 1 night and wished we could have stayed longer had we known how wonderful this place was. Jamie at reception was very kind and helpful, gave great recommendations. Louise at the bar was super sweet and offered great conversation and recommendations.

I went there today with my cousin from Spain food was brilliant as usual staff and guy are great always a pleasure too go there be proud of yourselves

I was disappointed to see that I was being charged on the bill for an alcoholic drink which we hadn't ordered. We did not order any alcoholic drinks. Fortunately I spotted the error before I paid. I am not in the habit of checking my bill but I will be in future.

My wife and I spent three nights at this hotel in October, which is in a very quiet location and can say it is one of the best hotels I have stayed in. Very comfortable and spotlessly clean room. All staff very friendly and helpful. Fresh cooked breakfast every morning served at your table. Restaurant has an excellent choice of dishes (including a proper steakpie) at very reasonable prices.

A fantastic evening, food, service and company

Lovely food as always and u get the best cooked and biggest fish (haddock)and chips you can get anywhere around! I haven't stayed overnight yet but if judging by the food it would be a 10 out of 10!

Lovely place with a great view on the water. We ate at the restaurant the first night of our stay in Aberdeen and met Amy, who was absolutely lovely to us, speaking both English and French. My daughter liked her so much, she made sure we went back the next day and made her a drawing both nights. Thank you Amy for the great service and warm welcome!

10/10 would recommend!!!! Stayed here in 2019 and just visited again 2023. The hotel has had a makeover and is fresh and updated. The food is some of the best and I do recommend trying the Cullen Skink soup.

This place is an absolute gem! When booking online, from overseas, with a non-refundable payment, there is inevitably some apprehension. However, we were delighted with the size and comfort of our room, complete with sea views. Our evening meals were fabulous and breakfast was substantial. Friendly service topped off our night’s stay. So I picked this hotel to stay in for work Wednesday-friday, hotel staff friendly polite & pleasant happy to help with anything required, cleaning staff also extremely friendly, first night slept well second morning had some breakfast (poached eggs & toast) they did come out hard (not my preference) but I didn't ask for them soft so won't fault the chef, had dinner that evening burger & chips I must admit outstanding best burger I've tasted for a long time 10/10 2nd night slept well only downfall was I noticed my hairdryer is broken so can't really dry my hair, haven't brought it to managements attention yet I did have poached eggs again and asked for them soft today's was outstanding didn't have dinner this evening however I'll be having breakfast before I leave tomorrow though. My experience has been brilliant and I'll most likely return again!

Fantastic views and a lovely breakfast with warm and friendly staff

I went in and was greeted by amzing staff who was both friendly and professional. When I was seated I was lucky enogh to get the best view over the sea I could ask for. It was honestly gorgeous. I ordered a coffee and chicken fajita and I blow anyway by the flavors, it was both full of flavors with a lovely creamy inside. The coffee was so good I had to order two more haha. The prices were very good for the quality of food and Im serious impressed by this restaurant and would highly recommend it to anyone.

Stopped for a quick lunch really glad we did Shared nachos to start piping hot and delicious,we then decided on chicken fillets which again were piping hot and obviously freshly made. Service was excellent all staff were super friendly and attentive highly recommend will be back ASAP 👍

Very good food and service, Three of us had the roast beef dinner which was excellent and I had the sea trout which was on the specials board, this was also excellent.

Was left sitting as if forgotten. But the food came , and it was just delicious 😋 Worth the wait.

Ordered home delivery, originally for 6.30pm delivery, had order confirmation with updated delivery time of 6.50pm, now 7.30pm and order still not here. Called and was told they are a driver down, just disappointed no contact from hotel re delay Have been told delivery charge will be refunded, though won't be taking it Have used before and will again, but if there is major delays, at least have the courtesy to let customers know.

Terrible car parking. Found the place cold especially when seated near the entrance.Staff grazing behind bar crisps and serving without handwaahing. Food was good served on a cold plate.steak pie was good but dry.Asked for hot gravy to pour on top.Arrived when the meal was nearly eaten . Poor drinks service. Had to wait 5 minutes to catch attention of staff to request a round of fresh drinks. Had to rush the food as the table had to be vacated by 19.00 hours.Spoilt the whole dining experience. This was a return visit after 10 years Previous visit was excellent and relaxed service by a professional restaurant maître de.This time young inexperienced waiters nothing wrong with that everybody has to start somewhere but require guidance which was sadly missing.people out of their depth.

Stayed here before and was good stayed last night booked a meal about ten days ago in there restaurant last night no knowledge of the booking and was a bit miffed to find us a table cos they were busy after finding us one took them twenty five mins to take our order no good enough won't stay again might add bfast was great as was the wee waiter this morning

Had a lovely lunch with family and granddaughter,very nice lunch, food very good and reasonable price as the staff were very attentive and polite especially to my granddaughter.

We really can't say enough about the Cove Bay Hotel, if a 10 was possible we'd mark 10+. We stayed there for 11 nights in early November. From ALL the superb professional, friendly, attentive staff, the room, the breakfasts, the various restaurant meals and the various bar meals = absolutely superb, way above expectations.

Excellent stay. Very clean and staff friendly great breakfast.

Never had a bad meal here. Staff are polite and friendly, I was a fan of the older decor (maritime theme) in the restaurant but times change. The bar area and seating is good also, toilets need an upgrade but everything else is top.

Went for food and was really fine. Chicken fajitas was amazing. They have changed their menu since last time i went and made it a bit fancier which put me off as wasnt allot of choice for a fussy eater compaired to before. If they add simple things like a lasange, or beef olives, or chicken tikka back in the menu again im sure allot of people would be happy 👍

Bel emplacement de l'établissement malgré la vue des chambres qui donnent à la fois sur l'océan mais aussi sur le parking de l'hôtel. Le personnel est très accueillant et chaleureux, une employée gère toute seule le service du petit-déjeuner ainsi que les départs le matin, un grand merci à elle. Malheureusement, pour le prix, notre chambre n'était pas très propre. La douche était en très en mauvais état, le pommeau de douche cassé. De plus, l'isolation est très mauvaise.
