Cove Bay Hotel in Aberdeen City

I was disappointed to see that I was being charged on the bill for an alcoholic drink which we hadn't ordered. We did not order any alcoholic drinks. Fortunately I spotted the error before I paid. I am not in the habit of checking my bill but I will be in future.

My wife and I spent three nights at this hotel in October, which is in a very quiet location and can say it is one of the best hotels I have stayed in. Very comfortable and spotlessly clean room. All staff very friendly and helpful. Fresh cooked breakfast every morning served at your table. Restaurant has an excellent choice of dishes (including a proper steakpie) at very reasonable prices.

A fantastic evening, food, service and company

Lovely food as always and u get the best cooked and biggest fish (haddock)and chips you can get anywhere around! I haven't stayed overnight yet but if judging by the food it would be a 10 out of 10!

Lovely place with a great view on the water. We ate at the restaurant the first night of our stay in Aberdeen and met Amy, who was absolutely lovely to us, speaking both English and French. My daughter liked her so much, she made sure we went back the next day and made her a drawing both nights. Thank you Amy for the great service and warm welcome!

10/10 would recommend!!!! Stayed here in 2019 and just visited again 2023. The hotel has had a makeover and is fresh and updated. The food is some of the best and I do recommend trying the Cullen Skink soup.

This place is an absolute gem! When booking online, from overseas, with a non-refundable payment, there is inevitably some apprehension. However, we were delighted with the size and comfort of our room, complete with sea views. Our evening meals were fabulous and breakfast was substantial. Friendly service topped off our night’s stay. Thank you to the team at the Cove Bay Hotel.

Beautifully redone rooms, delicious food and lovely staff. We absolutely enjoyed our stay. The hotel is super clean, the rooms are cozy and it’s easy to reach by bus too.

Lovely lunch staff friendly lovely views

So I picked this hotel to stay in for work Wednesday-friday, hotel staff friendly polite & pleasant happy to help with anything required, cleaning staff also extremely friendly, first night slept well second morning had some breakfast (poached eggs & toast) they did come out hard (not my preference) but I didn't ask for them soft so won't fault the chef, had dinner that evening burger & chips I must admit outstanding best burger I've tasted for a long time 10/10 2nd night slept well only downfall was I noticed my hairdryer is broken so can't really dry my hair, haven't brought it to managements attention yet I did have poached eggs again and asked for them soft today's was outstanding didn't have dinner this evening however I'll be having breakfast before I leave tomorrow though. My experience has been brilliant and I'll most likely return again!

Fantastic views and a lovely breakfast with warm and friendly staff

I went in and was greeted by amzing staff who was both friendly and professional. When I was seated I was lucky enogh to get the best view over the sea I could ask for. It was honestly gorgeous. I ordered a coffee and chicken fajita and I blow anyway by the flavors, it was both full of flavors with a lovely creamy inside. The coffee was so good I had to order two more haha. The prices were very good for the quality of food and Im serious impressed by this restaurant and would highly recommend it to anyone.

Food is absolutely fantastic, highly recommend. The rooms are nice and comfy.

Stopped for a quick lunch really glad we did Shared nachos to start piping hot and delicious,we then decided on chicken fillets which again were piping hot and obviously freshly made. Service was excellent all staff were super friendly and attentive highly recommend will be back ASAP 👍

Very good food and service, Three of us had the roast beef dinner which was excellent and I had the sea trout which was on the specials board, this was also excellent.

Was left sitting as if forgotten. But the food came , and it was just delicious 😋 Worth the wait.

Ordered home delivery, originally for 6.30pm delivery, had order confirmation with updated delivery time of 6.50pm, now 7.30pm and order still not here. Called and was told they are a driver down, just disappointed no contact from hotel re delay Have been told delivery charge will be refunded, though won't be taking it Have used before and will again, but if there is major delays, at least have the courtesy to let customers know.

Terrible car parking. Found the place cold especially when seated near the entrance.Staff grazing behind bar crisps and serving without handwaahing. Food was good served on a cold plate.steak pie was good but dry.Asked for hot gravy to pour on top.Arrived when the meal was nearly eaten . Poor drinks service. Had to wait 5 minutes to catch attention of staff to request a round of fresh drinks. Had to rush the food as the table had to be vacated by 19.00 hours.Spoilt the whole dining experience. This was a return visit after 10 years Previous visit was excellent and relaxed service by a professional restaurant maître de.This time young inexperienced waiters nothing wrong with that everybody has to start somewhere but require guidance which was sadly missing.people out of their depth.

Great place to eat or just for a drink everyone is happy, if your in the restaurant or the bar & you can take your dog into the bar too he /she will get a bowl of water & a treat ..

Stayed here before and was good stayed last night booked a meal about ten days ago in there restaurant last night no knowledge of the booking and was a bit miffed to find us a table cos they were busy after finding us one took them twenty five mins to take our order no good enough won't stay again might add bfast was great as was the wee waiter this morning

Had a lovely lunch with family and granddaughter,very nice lunch, food very good and reasonable price as the staff were very attentive and polite especially to my granddaughter.

We really can't say enough about the Cove Bay Hotel, if a 10 was possible we'd mark 10+. We stayed there for 11 nights in early November. From ALL the superb professional, friendly, attentive staff, the room, the breakfasts, the various restaurant meals and the various bar meals = absolutely superb, way above expectations.

Excellent stay. Very clean and staff friendly great breakfast.

Never had a bad meal here. Staff are polite and friendly, I was a fan of the older decor (maritime theme) in the restaurant but times change. The bar area and seating is good also, toilets need an upgrade but everything else is top.

Tolles Hotel mit einem erstklassigem Restaurant! Wir hatten ein richtig tolles Abendessen und eine ruhige Nacht. Ein Absoluter Tip. Die Aussicht beim frühstück rundet das ganze ab. 5/5 komplett verdient!

Went for food and was really fine. Chicken fajitas was amazing. They have changed their menu since last time i went and made it a bit fancier which put me off as wasnt allot of choice for a fussy eater compaired to before. If they add simple things like a lasange, or beef olives, or chicken tikka back in the menu again im sure allot of people would be happy 👍

Bel emplacement de l'établissement malgré la vue des chambres qui donnent à la fois sur l'océan mais aussi sur le parking de l'hôtel. Le personnel est très accueillant et chaleureux, une employée gère toute seule le service du petit-déjeuner ainsi que les départs le matin, un grand merci à elle. Malheureusement, pour le prix, notre chambre n'était pas très propre. La douche était en très en mauvais état, le pommeau de douche cassé. De plus, l'isolation est très mauvaise.

Hidden in a little hamlet, this is a brilliant place to stay! Amazing view of the North Sea and the food was great.

Really nice went for my sons birthday, my husband's birthday and my anniversary with mum an dad, sons partner and brother. Couldn't complain. Would def go back.

Another relaxing evening of fine dining and comfort at Cove Bay Hotel. Staff always make me feel welcome, are always attentive and take the time to chat despite being very busy. And last night was warm, great as a guest, but it must be exhausting in the kitchen so kudos to the staff for still turning out a 5-star worthy dinner. I can't resist the bruschetta, it's to die for and I'm half Italian so I know when it's good. For my main I went with the catch of the day which was hand made fishcakes with salad and cheddar pouring sauce, and wow! I finished with the panna cotta and coffee again and it didn't disappoint. My nephew had the same except he had the battered haddock for his main and loved it. Both ate far too much but I can't not enjoy the food here. We worked it off after with a walk to Cove Bay Harbour which I haven't visited since I was young and I used to play there. I'd forgotten what a beautiful, idyllic spot it is ❤️ I then retired to my seaview room which I highly recommend if you're staying here. The views are breathtaking! The beds are so darn comfy that I just melt into them while gazing out at the views. I'm in a different seaview room tonight and while I love them all I think this is my favourite. Although I can't say why exactly, they're all lovely. This room has a Country Manor feel to it, but like I say they're all perfect. Stayed here travelling for work reasons. First of all staff are very friendly and attentive. I was leaving early next day so said i would miss breakfast. They made me a lunch for the next day and stored it in a coolbox at my room for morning. Room was pleasantly nice. Modern shower room . Very clean. Clean bed and comfy pillows. Bar area is a good size plenty of televisions,pool table and also a good view of the sea. Bar staff were also really good. Food. I ate in the bar. Cant complain about my meal tasty and piping hot. Fairly priced . Good parking. The venue in my opinion 3 star. But gets a 4th for great service, nice people , location and nice food. Will stay again.

The staff are exceptional and there is excellent reasonably priced food. It is in a stunning location too with views from the restaurant. It has the potential to be amazing. However it is in need of some decoration and the corridors have a bad smell of stale smoke and something else, maybe cleaning products. I would have given 4 stars if I'd only stayed midweek, but at weekend was kept awake Friday and Saturday nights until at least midnight by very loud music, presumably from the bar. Also on one night in particular the restaurant was like a creche for hyperactive children. It may be better if you eat late.

Lovely hotel. Last minute booking and made to feel welcome by staff. Room very comfortable and all usual amenities provided. Was told in advance by manageress thar our Seaview room could prove noisy as over the bar and they were expecting a busy evening. This was not an issue for us. In fact we joined all the locals in the bar and couldn't have been made to feel more welcome. Loved it and if ever in the area again will definitely stay here. Breakfast was first class and young lad serving us was very polite. X

Food could have been better, most of the staff were happy and helpful even when under pressure from a full house, might have gone on a bad day, but still a little disappointed. Update:what a difference a year makes, absolutely fantastic service and meal for the whole group of us (12+) could not fault anything, thank you to the staff for going above and beyond..

Restaurant visit was very good ,. very nice selection on the menu efficiently provided on the final sitting of the afternoon by friendly staff, I would recommend it .

Stayed for one night. Staff were great, I arrived late and they made sure I got a meal despite the fact the kitchen was closing. Food was really good had the fish and chips followed by chocolate orange cheesecake. Breakfast was also very good and a nice sunny view over the sea helped. Only let down by being the bedroom being a little dated and the shower not being very powerful. Bathroom was very well done though

Our waitress was friendly and very professional. I was there with my partner and the meal was lovely. Definitely go back.

Last minute decision to go there for lunch. Right decision was made. Food was great and the views out to sea were great, can only imagine how stunning that would be in summer.
