Pret a Manger in Aberdeen City

Food is standard Pret which is overpriced. Some of the staff are none too pleasant. Atmosphere is not very atmospheric.

Quite a good selection, fast service. Only very often the inside of the cafe is dirty, both on the tables and on the floor.

What an amazing Mac and cheese and this mango drink is beyond good!! Love their food.

My wife and I popped in for tea and was very disappointed. When the tea was ready, it was in paper cups. I asked the assistant why crematic cups were not being used and was informed they have since stopped using real cups and now use these. To make things worse, we were charged £5.60 for two teas. This is a great way to bolster their profits at the expenses of ripping off the public. Needless to say, we won't be back.

A solid local Pret. Usually has a better range than the Bon Accord branch. Tends to be busy at peak times but you can always find a seat. Always clean and tidy.

Nice place to study, staffs polite

Rude service when collecting (or as it turned out not collecting a "2Good2Go" bag). Partner barked at by the staff member when turning up during the alloted time slot. And after walking the length of Union Street to collect, being told there was nothing left. 4th time let down by Pret, although the other times they have sent a cancellation. Won't be back.

Just had a couple of coffee's here, but the girl who served me was very nice. It was constantly busy when we were in, but we had no problem finding a seat. Recommended

I sit in pret for up to 5 hours at the weekend,both days. It's warmer, cheaper and I can study while keeping warm, also if I was at home I'd be alone. Even if I wasn't talking to people in the shop, you still feel like you are not alone....I pay the £25 subscription so I can get 5 coffees a day. So I can realistically be there was at least 5 hours and I feel I've paid for my seat...I've had looks, when I've got my book out ..but people shouldn't judge others...it maybe the only company people get to feel.

The music is too loud you can't hear yourself speak, asked if it could be turned down was told it wasn't possible. Disappointing.

One of the cookies I ordered had a long hair going through it. Yuk! Chatted to Deliveroo who didn't even help. Love the food at Pret however I've had a few problems with wrong orders etc.

Drinks & food are high quality. But cleanliness is questionable. There were crumbs in the chairs/sofas where we sat. I was stung by some sort of insect during my lunch.

Predictably good, fast meal. A huge variety of fresh sandwiches and other great lunch type items. I had a nice cup of coffee here. Serve is efficient and friendly, especially to those not familiar with the restaurants. Parking could be an issue with only street parking near by.

Grubby !! Lazy staff is one thing, not having a cleaner is another. The food and drinks here are decent, you pay for that. Really nice choices that others simply don’t offer. Pram friendly. Veggie friendly. Be mindful of tacky surfaces, old food and crumbs laying throughout this unclean cafe/deli. The chip and pin machine at the till is like a tramps pocket of random dirt. Wait until you have to sit down and see the pit elsewhere.

Disappointed to be told at 17.35hrs 09/05 by a member of staff emptying the food shelves, ' I'M CLOSED!' Strange when the official closing time is 18.00hrs. Blunt customer care. Thankfully Nero's to the rescue further up Union Street open to 18.30hrs

I absolutely would not recommend this cafe. The staff is unwelcoming and rude, they do not listen to the customer and do not remotely care.

Came in for a quick coffee and toastie as I normally do. Halfway through the toastie found a hair in the melted cheese on cardboard insert. Took the rest of the toastie back to counter to point this out and not one single acknowledgment from any of the staff, no apology, nothing. With the massive turnaround of staff on the union street branch, Pret obviously find it a waste of resources training their staff for the slightest bit customer service communication. Extremely poor service

Very clean and roomy shop. Staff were polite and quick to deliver our order. Place was nearly full and as soon customer left the table, staff would clear, clean and disinfect it. They all worked like clock works.

I ordered food on Sunday afternoon for myself, my Girlfriend and her son. The waffle was broken and the mocą was warm and simply a cup of chocolate. The soup was laying in its side so had spilt over, and the Korean pulled pork didn't arrive, but yet we were charged. Reordered again and added another soup, waited another 30 minutes and the soup again was laying on its side and spilt. Will not order from pręt again.

1st time in here, great selection of hot n cold savouries, foods, but staff were very efficient n smiley. 5/5 for staff..

I am in for a take away coffee quite regularly and am impressed with the friendly and polite service. They have a good core team of people and it’s always a nice experience.

Baristas are absolutely wonderful! They brighten up my morning whenever I go! Drinks are made super fast and they are great with customisations. Can't go without my pret subscription though, prices can be steep but are so so worth it!

I’m a big fan of Pret. I can proudly boast I’ve had everything on the menu. Their lattes are amazing, service is quick and staff are (usually) friendly. I’ve had a bad experience at Union Street that’s made me rethink my enthusiasm. Pret have likely seen previous TripAdvisor reviews of people buying one coffee and hogging tables for hours. They've now revised their policy: buy your drink, stay for a maximum of an hour and then bugger off*. When I was there, I stayed from 9-11am. There were plenty of empty tables, but I was still booted out*. When I was there, I bought several drinks and pots of porridge over the span of two hours, but was still sent packing*. I had an awful experience of Pret. Telling me to leave is giving me the message that they don’t want me as a customer. I felt really unwelcome. I got in touch with Pret’s Customer Services to tell them of my experience. I asked if they could revise their one-hour seating policy if less than 50% of tables are occupied. I got a response rather swiftly. Unfortunately, it looked to be copied and pasted from the previous unhappy customer. They said “We expect [staff] to act in a helpful, friendly, and professional manner at all times. Sadly, the behaviour you have described clearly falls short of these high standards”. They will contact the shop manager to discuss it. Unfortunately, they are looking to fix staff’s behaviour, not the “piss off”* policy that is underpinning it. I’ve explained this to Customer Services but haven’t received a reply. I'll follow Pret's own policy and go away*. I'll hand in my Pret Subscription in favour of Costa's loyalty card. *Ok, their actual phrasing was “You are aware of our one hour table policy?” in an assertive, bordering on rude, tone. They also didn’t want to serve me any more food/drink. I’m changing the phrasing above for humorous effect. My point is that telling customers to leave – in any way – is unwelcoming.

Decent coffee, couldn't really fault it

Nice environment and loads of natural light, but they have a 1 hour seating policy...that is fine as long as they tell you before you order, in my case they told me after... I can't enven enjoy my food or talking to my friends because I have to check the time...

Over price for what is really a cafe.

They have lovely food, but the atmosphere inside is a bit sterile, and I can't recommend them for online ordering. For quite a while, I ordered approx. once a week via Uber Eats, but in around 80% (!!!) of all cases an item was missing, meaning one of us had to go without lunch. It was so frustrating that I now give them a wide berth. I mean, how hard can it be to check whether everything is in the bag before you give it to the Uber driver? Other restaurants can do this easily, after all. Plus, there is no label on the food telling you what it is, which makes it a bit difficult to distribute similar looking sandwiches/baguettes. No amount of feedback brought any change, so now they have lost me as a customer.

Toilets are not nice - unisex hope all men lifts the seat Didn't get offered ice with drink & my coffee was only 1/2 full! And a very low range of cakes etc

My partner and I went in for a hot drink at the weekend and it was extremely busy but luckily we found a couple of uncomfortable stools at the window and we sat there until a more comfortable table became vacant. As soon as one became available we moved. Shortly after, a member of staff named Jamie Lee approached and asked us to move as she has promised the table to a family of three, and she mentioned to us while trying to convince us to move that they have also purchased a expensive meal insinuating that they deserve the seats due to the amount of money they have spent and we had only two drinks. I had to ask her again to be sure if she just really said that because I actually didn't believe what I heard then she said that I am blowing this out of proportion. This behaviour is absolutely disgusting, discriminatory and unacceptable.

We are lucky enough to have like this place in Aberdeen , so I’m enjoying my daily coffee here. Really nice atmosphere, great staff who are passionate about what they do. All these things make for an excellent dining experience!

They have started to allow 1 student sit at a table for 4 for themselves + laptop 1drink stay 5 hrs ! Regulars not getting a seat cause students and laptops ! Waste of time saying to management they not interested!

Not quite up to par on service as usual

Let me state from the start that I like Preti and I like students. however I arrived with my elderly parents today to find a bustling Preti A Manger with many tables filled with students and their laptops. Four seated tables had one or two students sitting spread out, some evidently having been there for some time. There were people buying drink and food only to find there was nowhere to sit., having paid to sit in . Preti A Manger, I was assured by a staff member,have no time limit on their seating so the students can sit there for hours. I know this as one girl was still sitting at a four seated table two hours later when I passed This is a tough time for us all, I get that. But we should be accommodating of each other. Cafes in town are used my elderly people to escape from solitary life at home, and for workers who are trying to have a break from the office at lunch time. Preti, A Manger therefore need to make a limit on the time people are allowed to stay. Other cafes do this. Covid wise it is not good to have people sitting for hours in a cafe. My mum told me this is an every day occurrence and that makes me sad because we are lucky to be at level 2 at the moment.In Aberdeen This lack of moderation will not assure we stay that way.

Was there for half an hour. Couples of tables were covered in crumbs, and while I was there there was no table cleaning/sanitising happening when customers left. First time I've felt uneasy in the last 6 months!

Friday October 9 at 11.30 had 9 tables of students on their lap tops. At noon when we left there were still 7 tables occupied by students. Hard for general public to get one of the few tables left, barista asked if I had a table for sit in coffee track/trace. Coffee excellent as was the staff cleaning a table when a customer left.

The seating area is much reduced due to Covid-19 but the quality of the sandwiches and pastries was good as ever while we had a light lunch.

my wife is a big fan of the soup here, when its available. i myself like the meatball wrap, i do like how the shop is quite large and spacious. sad that its a bit more expensive that nero, costa or starbucks. but they do have larger selection of hot food

Pensé que le daría a Pret un desayuno ligero y quedé totalmente sorprendido por los precios y el estado del restaurante. Pedí una taza de té y un bollo de desayuno que consistía en un bollo de brioche muy pequeño, una salchicha cortada por la mitad y la porción más pequeña de tortilla de huevo que había visto. Por esto me cobraron menos de 4. 85) . . ¡Escandaloso! Hay una cafetería en Dundee a la que vamos y podemos obtener un desayuno de 6 artículos con tostadas y una taza de té más barato de lo que pagué por esto. También necesitan hacer algo de mantenimiento en sus mesas, ya que probé 3 mesas diferentes antes de encontrar una que fuera lo suficientemente estable como para tomar mi té sin que se derramara sobre la mesa. También había un gran volumen de bandejas y comida desechada en todas las mesas del restaurante, lo que lo hacía muy desordenado para comer. Este informe no debería restar valor al personal, que me pareció muy servicial y educado. . . Son los propietarios quienes deberían ser responsables. Todos sabemos que Aberdeen es una ciudad cara para vivir y comer, pero me sorprendió lo que experimenté en este restaurante, no creo que vuelva por algún tiempo a menos que haya un cambio radical de actitud con esta cadena.
