Invergowrie Inn in Perth & Kinross

Really disappointed with our visit. I had friends visiting from out of town and had really hyped this up as I am a regular and usually love it. I booked a table for 4 and my friend brought her baby with her, the table we were given did not have space for a pram - this was ok my friend was going to move the pram, it did not need to be at the table as she was planning to take him out to feed. However, the waitress offered to move us to a bigger space which I initially thought was really nice and accommodating until she made two unnecessary rude comments including ‘there is no way a pram is fitting in there, I wish people would include kids on their booking’ and ‘you would be amazed how many people forget about their kids’. This was completely rude and unnecessary. It was an honest change of plan which was easily sorted and if she had thought to have a conversation with us, we would have come up with a solution. But to offer a solution (which was very appreciated) and follow it up with snide comments was unfair. The food was great as always, unfortunately I will not be able to return with these friends. It’s hard enough as a new mum to navigate outings, let alone with this attitude.

We were staying at Fingask Castle and had travelled by train so it was difficult to get about. The Invergowrie Inn was recommended by our local taxi driver although it was 10 miles away. First class hospitality and very friendly this Inn serves a very extensive menu. Quality food with good portion sizes and reasonably priced drinks.

Great food at a good price. Staff are attentive and friendly. Decor clean, bright and tasteful.

I had the tartlet for starter then the stroganoff with half rice half chips the food was amazing and so was the service xxx

It’s been a while since we visited the Invergowrie Inn but have been there twice this month. We found the staff very friendly and helpful. The food was tasty and the portion sizes were generous. We felt it was good value for money.

Great relaxing place great value for money free parking

This is an excellent traditional Scottish inn with well-above average delicious food, friendly service and not unreasonable prices. The haddock is excellent, as are the jacket potatoes. There is a good choice of lagers and other beverages. The deserts are all excellent, not least the toffee pudding and the apple crumble. On the other side of the inn there is a pub where drinks are served, and a congenial atmosphere prevails amongst staff and patrons alike - an ideal place to enjoy a wee dram of Highland Park! Warmly recommended!

This has been on our radar for too long . Popped in today for lunch. We now know what we've been missing. Excellent food / service and the craic top notch. 👌

The food was great. Value for money any taste really good. Staff were excellent. Would highly recommend this place. When locals go and book up tables, it says something about the place.

Don't judge a book by its cover...........pub looks unattractive from outside, however Inside the pub, good food and very well priced. Excellent staff made the evening. Recommend you book as the pub restaurant gets very busy!!

We live in the village and have not been here for a very long time, we decided to try after some recommendations from friends . We were not disappointed the food was really tasty. The pakoras were brilliant, the prawn cocktail was very good, and the mains were really good too. Service was not speedy, but then it was prepared fresh and well worth it. 😀 l. We couldn't manage a dessert. Very happy friendly staff.. 5* well deserved.

Nice, clean and friendly. Food was very good, largely homemade and good sized portions. Service was very efficient and the prices were excellent value for money. Plenty of free parking at the back, will certainly be going again.

Both the pub area and restaurant were lovely to visit, very good atmosphere and the staff and other customers were very friendly. The food was amazing, huge portions and it was served quickly and well presented. I would definitely recommend it.

First visit to the Inn today for lunch totally incredable food was out of this world staff very friendly and attentive highly recommended prawn cocktail chicken pakora steak melt and fish and chips 2 drinks all for a very reasonable £45

We haven't been here for a few years, so we decided to go for lunch. The food was excellent..I had the blade of beef and my husband had the battered cod. Both meals were big portions and so tasty..We will most definitely be frequenting here in future. Staff were lovely and very attentive

On site parking and a real family feel here, you can tell this is a place that really cares if you have a good time, kid friendly, dog friendly locals are a great laugh, fantastic beer garden....could go on and on and on.

Great wee place to take the Mrs

My husband and I have been going here since we moved to Dundee. It has always been my favourite place to dine out. The food is fresh. Drinks are good. The staff mostly are good and work hard. Last Friday morning I called and booked a table for two for four pm. There were no conditions applied for time use. Actually other than Covid there never is. If there was I wouldn’t go. We get a bus there and a taxi back so that adds to the cost. But we still went regularly. You have to be prepared to wait for food as it is cooked fresh and when it’s busy it can take awhile but that’s fine. We weren’t sure whether we would have desserts so my husband paid the bill and so thought that we can always pay separately for another drink and desserts if required. As soon as the bill was paid one of the waitresses came over and told us we have to leave by six as the table was rebooked. If we had known that we wouldn’t have gone there. We don’t like being rushed. When we complained they said they were really busy and so they needed the table instead of which they should have told anyone else to call back later to see if there was a vacancy! To be treated like that is deplorable for anyone, a regular or not. It grieves me to say this but I will never go back there when people run a business like that. I know times are hard but I still think people should be treated with respect. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone anymore!

Friendly service, lovely lunch. Salad etc all very fresh. Had seniors lunch and the portion was huge. Definitely be back. However car park can do with a bit of attention

Had a lovely meal with very nice staff which nothing was to much for them to do.

Visited for a meal for my son’s 25th birthday. Cocktails were warm, service slow, and bar lady condescending. Won’t be back.

Why do they not do salads or baked potatoes never on menu I have been there a few times and asked but no one knows the a swer

Restaurant area empty - told there was no availability for a table for two. Waitress in bar area was extremely rude. Don’t go here.

Great village pub. The folks in the bar couldn't have been nicer, welcomed our dog with a bowl of water and some biscuits before we had even sat down. We had some baked potatoes which were excellent, the chilly I had was great and there was a mound of prawns on my wife's potato. Well worth a visit

Booked our table online and that worked well. Meal was excellent but service was slow. Inn was busy inside and out but only two staff seemed to be on duty front-of-house. They were very polite and apologised for our wait. Experience won't put us off returning and I'd hope that with continued strong customer support more staff can be employed to provide a speedier service.

Plz do not use their online booking service it is not fit for purpose we booked online but were turned away without even trying to fit us in we are regular customers there but they have now lost our custom

Made a booking online and drove up just to be told that we can’t have our table as we didn’t get a “confirmation email” but as seen on the website our booking was confirmed. lady who spoke to us was quite rude and not very helpful at all.

After walking here via the cycle path and nature reserve from Dundee centre we found this gem and decided to go in for a refreshment. Once inside we found it to be a really warm place and decided to have a bite to eat. Well the garlic chilli prawns on a bed of salad was the tastiest prawns that we have ever had. Our waitress was a delight, service was fast and friendly. Would recommend.

We had a lovely evening meal at the Invergowerie Inn, friendly service with great local characters and dog friendly too.

Food is excellent and well priced, service is good but be aware of the parking notices, you must enter your number plate on a tablet at the bar to get a temporary permit to park otherwise you will get a PCN through the post.

My friend and I were attending Perth races and staying locally for three days. I phoned the Inn on the first night to arrange dinner. We had a lovely evening in the bar and the staff were very helpful. We asked if it was Ok to return the next night at the same time for dinner. When we arrived we were met by a surly barmaid who abruptly said they were too busy to serve us a meal. The locals were embarrassed by her attitude. Her attitude was appalling and a terrible image to give of Scottish inhospitality.

Had a 60th birthday party meal. Excellent, good value for money. 1 disabled parking space at front of the inn. Good atmosphere. Pleasant friendly helpful staff. Fish and chips, Macaroni cheese, Jacket potato, Currys. Garlic bread. Ice cream, sticky toffee pudding. We were a party of 10, staff asked for our orders in advance. They also check if any one was Gluten free or any allergies. Very good thought. Enjoyable night thank you very much 😘

I booked a table for two, turned up and there were two large parties, one which had already been served. I was advised we would have a one hour wait for food. If they knew that in advance should we not have been contacted and made aware of this?

Been twice in a week once for Mother's Day and the next Thursday with friends. For was great between both days think we had most off the menu. Can highly recommend the fish, lasagne and steak pie.

Lovely meal for 5 adults. Great service with all meals presented at the same time all nice and hot.

Husband and I booked in for a meal found it difficult to find a place to park yellow lines everywhere ,parking isn’t good .both had senior 2 course meal which was ok .sadly we had to wait 3/4 of an hour before it came .The other meals that were being served looked really good at their normal price range of £12 etc

Meals are amazing prices have not went through the roof like some places staff are so friendly and welcoming just a lovely place to meet up with friends and enjoy great food highly recommended

Service was abysmal. You know its going to be bad when you have to interrupt the waitresses chatting to ask for a menu!!! We eventually left after 50mins having not ate.

Nice place to meet for food and a drink

Had a Christmas meal out with friends. Most of the food was good...steak pie was disappointing! Vegan dessert was tinned fruit cocktail with a scoop of sorbet, which was really disappointing, considering how easy it is to make or access plant based foods nowadays! Take something warm to wear as we were cold.

I'll start with the negatives because if not for this I would have given 4 stars. I went to this restaurant and used the customer car park at the rear. A few weeks later I received a parking ticket in the post (£60 rising to £100 if not paid within 14 days). Staff had not enquired about my parking despite coming in from the car park entrance and there was poor signage in the area I had parked. A totally unnecessary risk to aggravate customers. Food is of average quality as well as cheap, staff are friendly and service is prompt.

I like invergowrie in for food it is very good value and staff are friendly but the toilets are needing up graded and cleaned more often the floor look like it never had been cleaned for days .I saw 4 at least kitchen staff but definitely need someone to check and clean toilets it would put up the rating .as do like for food..

Have been several times now and the food is always delicious and staff are very good. We did have quite a wait for our food today but we weren't in a hurry so it didn't bother us but if you had a time limit could have been an issue

We just popped in for food but it was late, thinking we had missed the last orders but the manager made sure that our orders were taken, as she said it was no problem and it was really lovely, tasty and hot. Thank you and your staff for taking time out to do that for us.

We can not give any stars for the rooms as we only went for our meal which was excellent as usual we go 2 night per month best meals in our area and the portions are large even the seniors meals
