Schiehallion Hotel Bar and Dining in Perth & Kinross

Food and drink was amazing and very reasonably priced was so friendly and welcoming.

We stayed at the hotel for one night during our tour. Our room was on the second floor. It was very clean and spacious. The food, both dinner and breakfast, were really good, and the service at the hotel and bar was super friendly and helpful. We highly recommend it for a stopover 😊

Only has keg beer and lagers. Four TV screens in the bar just showing football and music blaring out. Might suit some but don't go expecting to have a quiet evening.

Perfect for 4 visiting French people. Generous cuisine, spacious and clean rooms, extremely friendly staff. Great team! The bed in bedroom 3 needs to be changed and then it will be perfect.

Very comfortable hotel to stay. The rooms are good size, as is the bathroom with shower. I would highlight the kindness of those who run both the hotel and the Pub that is at the bottom of the hotel. In which breakfast is eaten, which is especially abundant and rich. In addition to being able to eat there all day long until 9PM at night.

Excellent! We stayed one night in a lovely spacious and comfortable room. The bathroom was huge and everything was spotless. Nothing was too much bother for the staff and they were all very friendly. Although they initially got my breakfast order wrong it was delicious

The staff were lovely but unfortunately the food wasn't. The chicken burger was chewy, the kids beef burger was very dry and the Sunday roast, beef was so tough, gravy over powering and the rest of the plate bland and minimal We got a dessert to make up for it and even the cheese cake had little flavour to it I'd pop in for drinks but not the food

Try the steak pie, it was fantastic. The burger was good but the haggis I ordered as a topper wasn’t the nicest. Service was fine and average prices, although like most places average prices are often higher than they should be.

Nice pub, friendly atmosphere. A mix of people in pub, locals and visitors to town. Quite busy for a Monday evening I thought. 3 couples came in for food plus me. The burger was nice but chips the really thin McDonald's type. Also not any green vegetables on plate only tiny portion of coleslaw. I prefer chunky chips made with real potato and decent portion of green vegetables.

Absolutely fantastic stay at the Schiehallion Hotel. Our room was huge and comfortable and we could have held a barn dance in the bathroom it was so large. All of the young staff were so lovely. And as for the food - wow! I had the special each night and the quality was superb. My husband was equally impressed with the food and he used to be a chef so praise indeed!

Lovely atmosphere, attentive staff and delicious food. Pizzas were “the best I’ve had” from 2 of our party. Cajun chicken burger was delicious too. Big portions!

Popped in for a quick bite while in the area between a bit shopping and a walk up the Birks. Easily sat in one of the booths although plenty other seats available on our visit. Ordered the nachos with chilli beef to start then sticky toffee pudding. From the size of the nachos which are a starter we didn't expect the sticky toffee pudding to be as big, but we're not quitters and battled through 😁 We just had a brief visit but are back for a few days in December and would hope to visit again to try more of the beers.

Nice place for weekend. Delicious food. Pub is open to 12 or later if someone want a drink. Very welcome people. No parking but is a public parking not to far away.

Popped in for our dinner last week on a very rainy evening. Very friendly pub, food was exceptional. My coley fillet in mussels saffron sauce was delicious. Dog friendly as well which was a bonus. Nice atmosphere. Highly recommend.

35 of us had a fabulous visit to the hotel where we had dinner . The food was excellent, piping hot and served promptly. Staff were friendly, very kind and attentive. Not one complaint. Will definitely be back and will happily recommend. The owners should be incredibly proud of their staff 👏

Huge thank you to Laura, Rachel and rest of the staff for making our rambler's day out a great success. There were 35 of us for dinner and we had prebooked. The food was excellent and plentiful. Everything was served piping hot and timeously and the staff were kind and courteous throughout. I couldn't fault them. Would definitely recommend and will without a doubt be back again . It was busy, so we booked. We were told there would be a wait, but it was all fairly quick and efficient. Beautiful food including Gluten Free Fish and chips were amazing. Several other options could also be done Gluten Free if you asked.

Nice hotel with delicious food.

Had a couple of drinks in the bar and thought this would be a good place to come back to for an evening meal.I took my empty glasses up to the bar and said "thanks and cheerio" to the 3 members of staff standing at the end.They just carried on chatting and I was completely ignored.Needless to say we didn't go back for a bar supper.Disappointing, not what you would expect from a place supposedly known for its friendliness.

Stayed here one night. Great food, fish and chips really delicious. Clean room, all the trimmings. Parking nearby in a public place, free. The breakfast was really great, you can choose from the menu and I had egg with salmon. Really delicious. Partner had full Scottish breakfast, which was also great!

Stayed here for 2 nights and it did not disappoint. Accommodation lovely, spacious and clean. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Food is faultless and home cooked.

Didn't stay here. After walking throughout the town we were deciding where to eat. Decided this was the place and so far visiting Scotland they have the best Fish and Chips. Must try

Great pub, lovely local vibe. However, we have visited annually for many years. We were looking forward to eating there several evening's during what will likely be our last week in the town, due to the "moness )taymouth thing" The food is very good, but the service has lost its sparkle. Quick and polite to seat take orders but drinks service very slow or non existent. Our meal on three occasions was never checked back on and the last evening our naibs were never cleared, we had to go and get our own bill at which waiters passed 3 times and never acknowledged us. Sorry guys a real let down

We stayed at the hotel because we were in Kenmore for the Highland Games. Unfortunately our room was on the second floor, so the suitcases had to be dragged up. The room was clean and tidy, but unfortunately the mattresses in the bed were a bit worn out or too soft for us. The food and drinks in the restaurant were good. The breakfast was ok, as always full scotch, toast, juice, coffee and tea from the machine. We were lucky to get a parking space right in front of the door. However, it can only be used for one hour during the day with a parking disc. We were lucky enough to be able to use the parking lot in the evening and into the morning and were therefore able to stay there freely. If you can't do that, you have to use the parking lot directly behind the gas station opposite and walk about 50-100m with your suitcases.

Les chambres sont bien équipées et confortables, et de très bonnes dimensions, ainsi que les salles de bain, du moins les 2 que nous avions au 2ème. Pas d'ascenseur. Lit confortable. Les repas se prennent dans le bar, ouvert au public, et sont d'un bon rapport qualité/prix. Petit déjeuner très bien.

Lovely place Friendly staff Still a great place

This smaller-ish hotel was our last stop on a trek through Scotland and it was a wonderful way to end the trip. The rooms are quite large. The bathrooms are almost as big as hotel rooms at other locations in Scotland. The staff are friendly and helpful, even bringing food up to your room if things are too crazy. The town of Aberfeldy is a cute little town. It has a little bit of everything within roughly a mile walk from the hotel, including a Co-op across the street for your core grocery needs. The hotel is also within a 5 minute walk from a white water rafting place. The only negative thing I can say about this place is there's a repetitive bass-y sound that can be heard from certain areas of the hotel. The sound was heard pretty heavily in our bathroom, though could easily be dwarfed by literally any other sound. There is no lift in this hotel, but there's only 2 floors of rooms so bringing luggage up isn't too bad. The lobby/reception area is tiny and the door is around the side of the main bar. Overall, really nice place and would 100% recommend adding it to any trip you talk through Scotland.

For a 3 star hotel, this place is great. The rooms are really big with comfortable beds, had a great sleep. The breakfast was absolutely delicious! Can't believe it is only 3 star. Only 1 tiny criticism is that the bath towels were pretty small but would only have bothered me if I was staying a few nights. Other than that, perfect. Would stay again in a second.

We had diner and spent the night. The food was great. Good taste, proper portions. Nice selection of beers. The rooms were spacious and clean. But most imortant: te people were very friendly. Exellent hotel!

The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and very spacious. We enjoyed our stay. We also ate in the pub below, and enjoyed both dinner and the complimentary breakfast the next morning!

My husband and I just had a 2 night dinner, bed and brealfast stay in this lovely hotel. Room and bathroom were absolutely immaculate. Breakfast was first class, good choices and both dinners were delicious, proper home cooking. Staff were all extremely pleasant, friendly and very helpful. Lounge/bar area had a nice atmosphere. Cannot recommend highly enough. We will definitely be back!

Lovely pub and nice meal didn't stay but looks nice

Ate here for the first time despite being regular visitors to Aberfeldy and we were pleasantly surprised. I had the starter of the blaggis scotch egg as a main and this was plenty for me. My partner had the spicy pizza and was a very generous portion and a very good pizza. Would definitely recommend.

We visited on a short holiday to Aberfeldy, and we booked a table for early dinner on a Monday evening, knowing that we’d be hungry and not in the mood to cook after a 6-hour drive. Schiehallion is a typical high street pub, it would accept our dog and we weren’t expecting anything beyond bog standard pub food. What a surprise - our meals were superb. Really well prepared and cooked, the food quality was way above our initial expectations. They also go out of their way to make furry friends welcome, with dog blankets and treats available. I can’t give our visit 5 stars though, because of the horrible experience of having to sit next to a table of very drunk lads, who didn’t bother to temper their language or topics of conversation and consider the non-drunken family within 2 feet of them. Maybe keep the boozers away from the eaters? The food here is too good for a family to come away with a less than positive impression.

The staff were all having a party the night I stayed and the noise was horrendous. There was banging doors and music and shouting and finally 1:30am I had to ring the hotel from my room to speak to a very drunk worker who slurred he was sorry. I asked to speak to the manager whom I was told was too drunk to come to the phone.

Stayed for two nights and was very comfortable. Both breakfast and dinner were excellent and the staff were very friendly and polite. We will be back. 😎

Before i travel i always plan options for dining out as we are real foodies. Upon our recent visit I reserved a table for us as a family of 8 to enjoy a meal after our elopement. I chose this before ever seeing it, but it was the menu choices that caught my attention. The day before i actually walked past and second guessed my choice as i thought from the exterior it looked abit run down compared to other venues nearby, however this just proves don’t judge a book by its cover. We had a faultless dinner, this has NEVER happened when out as 8 (5adults, 3kids) All the starters and mains were well presented, perfectly cooked and tasted amazing. The interior decor is suited to our taste, staff really friendly and atmosphere was perfect. Sorry no pictures because i was too engrossed in the food. I hoped it would be good but its the best meal iv had in years - i had the roast chicken breast with mushroom leek fricassee 👌🏻 We had one guest stay in the hotel and was extremely happy with the room they were in. We loved the food so much we came back as a couple the next day to try more menu items. Again faultless. The plant based gnocchi with puy lentils was such a pleasing option id never seen on a menu before. Really Loved it. Over the two days i think we had every menu item except pizza. Highly recommend the dishes i had myself already mentioned, but was not a crumb left on anyone plate. the jalapeno poppers and the breaded mushrooms were also especially good. I dont know how i almost forgot to mention the rustic fries, i dont know your secret but my gosh they are the best chips iv had my whole life! Its truly a hidden gem, the locals clearly know where to go as tables looked all full. Would recommend to everyone i know visiting the area, book ahead to avoid disappointment. We enjoyed the food so much im already needing to plan another holiday to get more especially after writing this review! I stayed here during my 2023 John O’Groats to Lands End ride, when I was accompanied by my wife and 13 year old son, who were acting as support crew. The Schiehallion Hotel is situated in the town, opposite the Coop, a Jet garage and Indian Takeaway. It comprises a number of rooms on two floors above the pub, which are accessed via a separate entrance towards the back on the side of the building. Dinner is available in the pub. We shared a large family room with double and sofa bed. The bathroom was also large with a shower only and useful heated towel rail. The accommodation is simple and functional with no frills. A continental buffet breakfast is available in the pub with a cooked breakfast to order but with 140 miles to tackle I was up and off to early to try it. There is free overnight parking in a public car park behind Coop along with parking directly outside for up to one hour to allow for drop off or pick up. My bike was locked securely away in cellar at the back of the building accessed by staff. Be careful of the steps which are ancient and rounded, especially if wearing cleats!

On our week long stay in Aberfeldy, we discovered this place on our second night. Friendly atmosphere, friendly staff and great food. We ate here on 4 of our 7 nights. Highly recommended !

This might look like a local boozer, but it was really welcoming and super dog-friendly! The food was so good and the service was spot-on too. Not often we all sing the praises of the same restaurant. We will definitely be back the next time we're staying at Kenmore.

We called in for a quick bite after arriving in Aberfeldy and the food we had was excellent, as was the selection of drinks. The atmosphere was good as well, and it felt like a real community centred pub that was also a good place for visitors

Fantastic staff, friendly very helpful and very attentive, food fantastic, great choices, we went on the Saturday night and the place was fully booked, and food was that good we went again on the Sunday night, Macaroni with spicy chorizo was so tasty and delicious and the Breaded Fish was the best we had had in a long time. Worth booking before going as we were so lucky to get a table on the Saturday night but after the Staff did so shuffling we managed to get a table for 4. Sunday we did just turned up but still managed to get a table. This was classed as pub grub but it was superb pub grub.
