Best T-Bone steak I've had for years. Cooked to perfection (medium/rare). Outstanding.

Really good quality food and service. Nice authentic pub atmosphere downstairs, or if you prefer, more of a restaurant upstairs. Good selection of drinks and all is reasonably priced. I had the haggis, tatties and neeps, very tasty and a decent sized portion too. Would definitely recommend the Crown Tavern.

Genuinely the best place for food in the area. Great pint and the staff always go the extra mile. If you're in Lanark and need a proper meal and night out this is a great traditional pub to do it in.

Lovely cozy tavern, service with a very friendly smile. Portion of curry sauce was a bit too much for the filling. But very nice.

My Husband and I have been going to the Crown for about 30 years. Food is amazing, all fresh. Their Caribbean chicken is my all time favourite. Anyone that eats here will not be disappointed. Staff are very friendly and always willing to help.

A nice dog friendly pub that serves very good food with nice friendly staff. We sat in the bar but there is a separate dining area if you don't have a dog. Nice extensive menu with loads of choice & options for vegetarian or gluten free diners. Free street parking for 2 hours outside. We'll definitely return.

Great wee place for an occasional dinner

Grumpy waitresses, not even a smile, unhappy that we split the bill, actually huffed and shook head in front of us ! Meal was lovely but spoilt by the atmosphere created during the meal with their attitude. Will spend our money elsewhere in future.

Had a lovely Dinner thank you for fitting us in at the last minute. Can't wait to come back, the Mushroom Stroganoff was gorgeous and my Husband loved the Burger and chips

Been working in Lanark for six weeks now, and we were recommended The Crown at the Start of our 3rd week. We have eaten in there every night, and have worked our way through the extensive Menu, and every dish we have had, has been absolutely beautiful. Prices are very decent for a very healthy portion of food, and service every night from the frienldy helpfull staff, has been excellent. Would highly recommended.

Great Sunday lunch. Very dog friendly and accessible for my daughter in a wheelchair. The toilets are less accessible sadly but otherwise highly recommend this friendly local.

First time at this pub, service was good , same with the atmosphere, it had a few people in so it was not too busy, food wise it was OK but nothing to write home about , can't really recommend anything really as it was just standard pub grub , I have had better, but also had worse.

Awful attitude from elder member (carol) of staff , made us feel most unwelcome then spoke about us in kitchen to other staff members she was unaware knew us . Had been coming for years and supported business through covid but definitely won’t return now . Most uncomfortable meal , ashamed we actually paid at the end of it

Excellent food in a friendly welcoming atmosphere!

We visited here on a sunny but VERY frosty Thursday in January - The real fire burning away in the corner is very welcoming. My husband, dog and I were made very welcome on arrival - this is just our second visit to the Crown Tavern and definitely won't be our last. Classic good old fashioned pub grub menu which offers a BIG selection and all at very reasonable prices. Clearly there was a mix of lots of locals as well as day trippers like ourselves. Several of the locals, especially those with dogs stopped at our table to pat our dog and say hello - how lovely and friendly this wee place is! I had the chicken burger, served very simply with home made chips (you can really tell the difference) and a small pot of mayo on the side. The chicken was battered and was crispy and very tasty on the outside and super juicy inside. Cooked to perfection and a very big portion indeed! My husband had the chicken and mushroom pie in a gorgeous thick, creamy tarragon sauce - the pastry was all golden and crispy - again cooked perfectly.....YUM! This had the option of chips or mash and came with a nice varied selection of veg. He absolutely golloped it down!!! I think the food, atmosphere, service and prices make this a really fab pub serving all the lovely comfort food you could wish for! We will be back soon!!!

Landlady was really unfriendly. Essentially acted like everything was a huge inconvenience. Food mediocre but prices ok and it came quickly. No cask ales.

Traditional pub in Lanark. Friendly staff. Cash only upstairs in the function area. I didn't know this, but the staff sorted it and I paid my bill downstairs. I didn't have food, but the restaurant area was busy and the people eating seemed to be enjoying their food.

Apart from a bit of tiling needing to be repaired in the gents toilet, very nice pub with food. The waitress was pleasant & efficient. Food reasonably priced. Very good scampi & the best homemade chips I’ve had in years.

Have visited The Crown on many occasions, several family birthday dinners (20 to 30 dining), go often for a meal or just pop in for a drink. Food is all excellent, and service is very good.

Biggest menu you'll ever see, great food

We have been the the Crown on numerous occasions and always had a nice meal. However this time I was disappointed with how my steak was cooked as were others in the group. I asked for my steak to be cooked rare abut it was served medium to well done. It was tasty enough so I did not make a fuss but I mentioned it to the waiter as were preparing to leave. She was apologetic and said she would feed back to the kitchen. This wont hinder me returning as normally there are never any issues.

We were cold and wet from a miss calculated walk in the area caught the bus into Lanark, our normal favourite family restaurant was fully booked and this was a complete surprise. We will definitely be coming back. Food was excellent, service kind and friendly. Just a super experience!

Lovely Hogmanay dinner for six. Superb steaks. Staff were obviously pressed, but maintained great service with humour. Excellent, and our French guests were equally impressed.

Our visit was let down by impatient and short tempered waitress.

First visit to the Crown tavern in years, had lunch and was impressed with the extensive menus. We had Cullen skink soup, very nice, followed by the steak and sausage pie again very good. Happy to come back anytime.

Well what can you say went for our wee Xmas night out meal was excellent , service was something the Tavern should be proud of all the girls were very polite and very friendly , we had a wee problem with our taxi but the staff were very helpful trying to sort things out for us to get us home .

Went to the crown tavern 4/12/22 not knowing what to expect but was greatly surprised food was excellent and great portion size. The chicken pie is outstanding couldn’t choose either mushroom leek or ham to go along with it so the server suggested why not have all 3 great suggestion The staff were all extremely happy and friendly and weren’t over baring like some places checked the food was ok and to see if we needed drinks couldn’t ask for better Over all a very good experience and would highly recommend trying this place and it doesnt cost a fortune great value fir money

I can’t fault the food or prices but the staff don’t seem to want to be there. Manners are verging on rude to be honest. Well worth a visit but the management needs to employ happier staff 🤷🏻‍♀️

i have dined here several times i always start with the pate the best i have ever tasted their sunday dinner of roast beef and yorkshire pudding is excellent .

Very warm welcome with my 2 dog's. The staff were very friendly and made sure the dog's had plenty of water and attention. The food also looked lovely, will need to sample on my next visit, which will be very soon 🐾💕

Other than dogs sitting on the seats drinking from a stainless steel bowl on the table I thought it was great. Staff lovely. Nice venue. Even my dog loving friends found that a bit 'ick .

Mediocre food, have cooked better at home. Decor in the ladies loo is awful. The idea is good the work clearly was not done by a professional painter. I didn't want chips or potatoes and asked for extra vegetables. I hope what I got wasn't a large portion as I'd be very dissapointed with a standard portion. Saving grace they tasted ok. Hadn't been in for a long time, doubt I'll be rushing back.

We were spending a week at Braehead and because we had our dog choosing somewhere to eat was difficult. We found this pub restaurant ideal, friendly staff and customers. We ate there 3 times and the vegetable lasagne was the best I have ever tasted. If we were in the area we would definitely go back again.

Omg best pub restaurant food stayed in New lanark Mills went here for change recommended by taxi driver would have walked past thinking was a wee pub , amazing quality food great portions fabulous choices on menu, that's some chef they have. Well worth vista little gem of a place.

Food really good but a bit overpriced. Service totally different. Young girls more interested in chatting to each other. Service really slow and when they served our desert they said to ‘enjoy our food but they would need the table back soon’ had only been here just over an hour! Would put me off coming again to be honest

Been to the crown a few times over the years for nights out and drinks. Staff are always friendly and helpful. The last I was there we used the function room for a retirement party, dinner and drinks. The dinner was a set menu and nice. The drinks at the small upstairs bar were limited but the staff downstairs would bring drinks up and down from main bar and I was happy to nip down and get drinks when the staff were busy as it was a busy Saturday night and the pub had a good buzz and busy. Would recommend for small functions for people local to Lanark.

I visited the Crown Tavern for my first time today and it won't be my last. The meal and staff were excellent. Praise must be given to the kitchen staff as well. I will definitely visit here again the next time I am in Lanark. MANY THANKS

Had a great night in the Crown, great atmosphere and staff very helpful. Only downside was the steaks we ordered, 3 fillet and 1 ribeye were not very well seasoned. Apart from that it was a very good experience in an excellent pub/restaurant.
