Party of 13 from work enjoyed a fantastic meal and service. We were upstairs which is really lovely, decor is modern and nice and bright. Staff were excellent and very helpful. Will definitely be back.

3 course lunch for £11-95 best value for money I've had in a long time. Excellent service from the waitress nothing was a problem for her. The food was piping hot I had soup , fish and chips ,and the strawberry meringue was to die for. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Lanark.

Lovely home made tasty food in a pleasant atmosphere. Nothing fancy just a good selection at a very reasonable price for 3 courses. Go there quite often. I don't think it's suitable for the disabled due to steep stairs.

What a wee gem the upstairs restaurant was. Cozy and warm and the food was delicious. First time in it in decades and decided to have a bar lunch in my home town while back visiting. I'll be back.

A chilly day in Lanark, my wife and daughter enjoyed a meal here together so we went today. Three course menu £10.95, portions more than ample, food was excellent, service was superb with a smile. It is excellent food not fast food No problems recommending at all! I had the haggis balls and mustard, steak pie and mash and apple pie with custard and was stuffed!!

We booked The H&J on Saturday 18/01/20 for six,four adults and two kids.Everything was perfect as usual.The kids loved it as did we.The food is superb and the staff from the kitchen to the waitresses are great,nothing is any bother to them.Keep up the excellent work.My wife and I have been coming here for a few years and we think it gets better each time we dine there,whether it is lunch or Saturday night dinner.Thanks to all the staff,see you soon.D&A.

What’s not to love about this place, the portions are huge and super tasty! Some of the best I’ve ever had. Haggis balls are delicious, The haddock morney is amazing. Fresh fish! Steak pie is a must!!We go here when we’re in Lanark and wouldn’t go anywhere else! Probably tried everything on the menu by now. staff are always friendly. It can get busy so probably best to book in advance.

Popped in here on a Saturday night. Thought I was David McMallum. The invisible man..They served all the regulars before us. Shocking. I would avoid unless you go in with a regular.

This is a small pub on Main St Lanark. Anything it lacks in size is well made up for by its atmosphere and friendly, welcoming staff and clientele. Its a no frills place serving a great range of drinks at reasonable pricesMy band King Buddah did a 3 hour show there last night to an enthusiastic crowd who were really up for an evening of classic blues.It was evening and no food was evident but i did note a sign saying restaurant at the back. So, maybe next time. A great little watering hole down on main Street.

Hi Again popped in here to pass some time cosy wee Pub one bar person friendly I don't think they do food had a couple of drinks OH they have what must be the smallest toilets ever in the 'cubicle' you have to open the door to wipe your bottom.TOP TIP if it's cold outside I can't think of a cosier place I'd rather be

Very central and easy to find. Pleasant inside, quite small. I did not eat but other people were tucking into standard pub food whilst I was there. If I find myself in Lanark again I might pop back in.

Good food at reasonable prices. I had cheese and pear salad followed by fried haddock and chips then toffee sundae. All for 9.99. great place to meet friends!

We’ been here several times, but not during the last six months, so we went yesterday. Three course lunch for £9.95. We both had home-made soup , my wife had beef lasagne etc., I had chicken and ham etc., and for sweets one had strawberry meringue glacé, the other had pear Melba helene; accompanied by 2xhalves of lager shandy - all for £23 something. The Restaurant is hidden from the High St., and is best accessed via the pathway to the right of the Inn and the entrance is found a few steps in on the left; go upstairs. It was well patronised and warm; service was prompt and pleasant - seriously recommended.

Great atmosphere, busy local pub

Really enjoyed our Christmas lunch. Excellent menu choices and good portions sizes. Great value meal. Staff very attentive which made our Christmas lunch special.Will be back next year for Christmas lunch.

Fantastic choice of food , friendly atmosphere and very fast and efficient service, very reasonable prices.

Excellent Gastropub on Lanark High Street, serves great food and is especially great value with three courses for about a tenner at lunchtime. Best advice is to book a table or you could have to wait at busy times. We have eaten here many times and never been disappointed.

Short break on our way from Lake District to Cumbria. We were lucky when we found this restaurant. Food was excellent and staff very friendly. Thank you.

A good weekend pub. Would happily go back.

What a pleasant experience. It was recommended by a couple of locals as a great place to grab a quick pint before jumping on the train, and they were not mistaken. Some really nice ales on tap and a good selection of whisky. The crowd was small and friendly to the point where we stayed a little longer than we should have and ended up taking a later train home.

Went to Lanark for a wee change someone recommended this pub.Certainly wasn’t disappointed 3 courses for £10 best pub grub ever had.Had potato skins fish&chips; then the best part of the meal apple pie and cream just like your granny used to make absolutely delicious well worth a trip.Only 1 problem theyr really busy so might have to book we we’re lucky 10 out of 10

Was OK but small,food was OK, staff were nice.

Tiny restaurant (American standard) but really good food. For my group, the entrance, through the bar, up narrow stairs, through an unmarked door, was unusual... but the food was good, the atmosphere welcoming (albeit really warm, temperature-wise), and definitely a European experience. We wouldn't change that experience!

Very unpleasant and arrogant waitress, took so long to take orders. Soup was tasteless chef needs to learn how to season and no roll with the soup. The main course had watery gravy in the steak pie and needed more seasoning. Glasses weren’t cleaned correctly. Need to work customer service. The waitress had the cheek to say it’s everyones person taste I can understand that about some seasoning but when it comes to watery gravy I don’t think so

my wifeI decided to go for a run in the car no idea where we were going but arrived in a small town of Lanark,came across this gem of a place the menu was very good with a lot of choices,i had the pate which was nice, the dish of the day was silverside I then had baked apple pie. the service was quick and friendly only downside it was not really suitable for the infirm or disabled but £10.95 for 3 courses I will be going back
