Inn on the Loch in South Lanarkshire

Just popped in on a Saturday night on the off chance and they did have a table available. The food was very good, with alcohol free lager also available. All the staff were very nice and helpful, asking if everything was ok at each course.

Great place to chill out and enjoy a drink or have some food. Easy parking beside the Loch. Spacious with a good menu. Staff friendly and restaurant clean. Food was tasty.

It's like a basic beefeater however service was Very good - was very busy but we didn't wait too long for food. Reasonable price. Separate vegan menu!! With lot's of options.

My wife and I have visited on a number of occasions. You can sit in or outside. There is disabled access. Toilets are available. You are served at your table. It overlooks Lanark Loch. It is an ideal place to bring children and even dogs.

This is my second visit here and both times the food has been poor I thought I was just unlucky on my first visit but nope they couldn't even make a toastie that well and it had a hair melted within the cheese and the side of crisps were stale I did alert the waitress but she was not interested she just said if I wanted a replacement I would have to wait atleast 30 minutes on it as they were very busy , Its also meant to be a dog freindly restaurant but anytime a dog growled or barked i overheard a waitress tell the dog owners they would have to move outside or leave if the dogs didn't be quiet this place could be something special if it wasn't for the arrogant anti dog staff and restaurant manager and a little better hygiene standards

My husband and I had a delicious 3 course dinner in this lovely restaurant. Staff were friendly and attentive. Menu provided a varied selection of courses at very competitive prices. Husband's first time here, don't think it will be his last!

Never really been a fan of in on the loch but the family decided they wanted to stop in when passing. Well I’m converted got the curry of the day absolutely delicious better half had the steak pie meat was so nice and tender it literally melted in your mouth. Then we had dessert I went for the baked Alaska as hadn’t had one in years and was not disappointed served with a berry compote was excellent Staff were great and attentive but not over bearing which I like also extremely friendly even with out chatty 7 year old One of the girls even ran after us as my daughter forgot her lip balm might not seem like a big deal but saved us a lot of drama when she would have noticed it missing all round 10/10 on food and staff

It's a great location with good parking. The service is fine but the food is a real let down. Just seemed like bland freezer food. It might be cheap but I don't think it was worth the money and I wouldn't return.

Visited the cafe here today with my 4 year old, mum and dad. We have always wanted to visit here for a refreshing drink after a walk around the loch. Was really disappointed in the sheer attitude of the waitresses, not one nice interaction had. A smile and pleasantries, especially to a young 4 year old girl (who they ignored when she said thank you) would have made this experience sufficient. I have left here with a sour taste in my mouth about even visiting the loch again. We will not be back, I have never left a review in my life, but the attitude on these girls are SHOCKING. Manners go a long way!!!

Fish and chips absolutely terrible! chips not cooked properly or re heats and fish very small. Very disappointed!!!

The staff in the cafe are just lovely and extremely helpful. I go every week with friends and the staff always go out their way to provide an excellent service and are always incredibly friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend!

Regularly visit the Inn on the Loch cafe after walking the dog. The staff are always friendly and the food is always good. It has a nice atmosphere and you never feel rushed. It’s dog friendly and well located for walking.

The cafe bar downstairs at Inn on the Loch is fabulous. Extremely dog friendly and the staff are all friendly and brilliant with the dogs. I go every week.with my golden retriever where she gets her bacon bowl and I enjoy a lovely coffee after a nice walk round the loch. I would thoroughly recommend whether for a coffee or even a glass of wine if your not driving.

Very dog friendly! Dog section on the menu, dog given bowl of water on arrival, we were made to feel very welcome! Food was lovely, quick service, friendly staff. Toilets clean and well stocked. Gorgeous views from the surrounding windows.

Just a cozy place to go. I just stoped for a drink, but the food looks amazing. By the way, one of the best hot chocolate that I ever drank. Hot, sweet, and thick ish. Was so tasty. Staff were amazing too. Thank you. ^_^

Great cafe (down stairs) and restaurant (upstairs) on this visit I was in the cafe for coffee & light lunch. Plenty to choose from on the menu and staff are always plesent and helpful

First time there and plenty of food on the plate .

There were three of us thre for lunch.My wife had scampi which was ok,my friend and myself had beef lasagna which was terrible it was thrown on a plate with French fries the skinny ones and that was it.My friend left more than half of hers and I left about the same,my lasagna was sweet tasted so I left it and ate the chips.This lunch was not cheap at £14 a rip of.We Will not return.

Brilliant place for a quiet lunch or a coffee. The staff are great, the food is superb and the location is good for a walk before or after lunch.

Food was fine. Prices have crept up ! Service was very poor. Manager lacked customer service. Gave us worst table in place next to door. Very cold on a cold day and my old dad is 92 with dementia. Refused to move us. She abruptly insisted no other tables. There were tables! And people were finishing and leaving. She gave impression a wheelchair customer was a hassle. Normally leave very good tips. Left nothing and won’t be back. If you are on a wheelchair or don’t like your table you are stuffed!

Just spent two nights at the Inn for the Hogmanay Shindig. It was superb from start to finish. We were made very welcome on arrival and throughout our stay . Our twin room was warm , very comfortable with tea/coffe provided etc provided . The staff were so attentive , polite , friendly and fun to say the least . The manager in charge was also very hands on ensuring his guests were being attended too. The food was delicious and very well presented . The entertainment was perfect and there was plenty dancing and joining in by all . The whole experience was a fine way to end 2023 and start 2024. Thank you all Elaine & Jean , East Lothian

Handy place for a light lunch with a great outlook. We were there between Christmas and New Year. Not too busy and did the trick on the day. We will be back, no doubt.

Honestly the best meal we have had in a very long time. We passed by and popped in and so glad we did. Beautiful restaurant in a great location. The food was incredible we had garlic mushrooms and French onion soup to start and the black chicken and Balmoral chicken for mains... huge portions loads of sauce... it was amazing. Then we had to have dessert so chose tablet cheesecake... I love tablet so this was something else... and we had biscoff apple crumble ..... wow.... we waddled out full and happy. Thank you so much. The service was faultless and your restaurant is beautiful. We will definitely be back xx

Just been here for Christmas Eve family dinner. I have to say it was exceptional. The bladed beef in red wine jus was soft tender and delicious. The chefs at Cut in Bothwell need to take tips on how to cook beef from theses folks. Three course Christmas menu was just under £30. Outstanding value for money. Finally, can't leave a review without leave a comment about the equally exceptional service we received too.

Have eaten here on many occasions including pre Xmas last year when meal was excellent this year it has gone downhill. Starter was lovely but turkey main was poor obviously not from a fresh bird but from one of those processed turkey joint very rubbery. Roast potatoes also very poor as to cranberry sauce it was more like jam not a berry in sight. Very disappointed staff were fine but otherwise a very poor experience.

This place is amazing. Awesome traditional Scottish meals on the menu. I had Mince and tatties and sticky toffee pudding. The best I have ever had in Scotland.

It's a really amazing place. The atmosphere is great, the surrounding area is beautiful and the staff is great (we didn't have to wait for our order to be taken, we were asked later on if we needed anything, if the food was ok etc.). As for the food, big portions and very tasty. We had fish and beef, both delicious. If there is anything that could be fixed it's probably the external stairs. Owners might get into serious trouble when someone falls as the stairs are moving a lot (kinda feels like surfing)

Came in for lunch on Tuesday with a table of 3. All 3 of us shared food and are bed bound with food poisoning. Nice wee place nice staff food seriously questionable on this occasion. Sour mash potato with over salted mince for a baby..mould on the crust of bread plus the pate had an insual whiff to it .. by the time I noticed I just wanted to leave as we had already eaten a good bit . Need to wisen up chefs especially when cooking for babies. Won't fault front of house they where great

Dined here a few times and it has been great. So sorry to say our last visit was disappointing. Lasagne was dry, the noodle dish was awful. Even the burger was at best fair. The service was excellent. Don't know what's changed. We revisited again and glad to say we all enjoyed our meals back to the standard we were used to. Really enjoyed the food and great service.

Misleading as the restaurant is NOT dog friendly. You can sit with your dog in a cafe that only serves sandwiches. We were very disappointed.
