Inn on the Loch in South Lanarkshire

The restaurant has stunning views over the loch, and is beautiful inside with a fabulous atmosphere. The food is good with a reasonable price. On our first visit there was a specials list, and a tuna steak nicoise salad was devoured. And leave room for desserts, the baked alaska was amazing. Well worth a trip.

Been twice recently one for a birthday dinner upstairs food was amazing Downstairs is more of a coffee type shop with light bites and scones etc Downstairs is dog friendly as well

Pit stop at larnak from Burnley stay. Food really good actually surprised and service good. Had the battered goujons which had chicken bone in - real chicken and Korean tacos which were full of flavour.

Lovley place 2 stop have some lovley food however the service was very lacking i ordered a glass of wine with my main meal & after 20min it still hadn't arrived A couple at the table near to us still hadn't had their order taken after a similar amount of time I had to get staff attention & mention it Definitely not worth the hour journey esp after passing lots of great places nearby where I live

Should change the dogs allowed in restaurant when you're not actually allowed dogs in the restaurant only guide dogs

What can I say staff very unfriendly to the point of saying cleek , theirs no heating on freezing one wee girl serving has her sleeves over her hands ,when you do say something to one of them all you got was enjoy your food with a smirk definitely won't be back as the baked potato was hard and side salad crisps two crisps on a plate teaspoon of salad that wouldn't fill a mouse

Went yesterday in a group. Great food. Good portions. Not slow despite being busy. The young lady and young man who served us were brilliant- cheerful, patient, professional and very helpful.

Have been coming to Inn on the Loch for years. The food has always been excellent and freshly cooked. Recently standards have fallen. I ordered battered fish and chips in November. Previous to this visit the fresh was fresh with fresh batter. On the last visit it was obvious it was frozen fish, you could tell by the batter coating as it was too uniform and was nowhere near how it used to be served. Also the fish was very small flakes, which indicates frozen. I do not like frozen fish and it was disgusting. If they are trying to maintain profit margins, they would be better to increase prices and keep the quality. I also ordered raspberry cheesecake which was just an ordinary plain cheesecake with raspberry sauce on the top. Do not think I will be back until they raise their standards and quality. They will definitely lose customers.

Been here several times over the years whilst visiting family. Great food, cosy atmosphere and exceptional service. Great value for money too. My only slight gripe would be the car park. It’s in need of a bit of maintenance as the potholes are quite excessive. Other than this slight negative I can’t honestly fault the place at all.

Lovely food and good service. One group at a nearby table had an extremely noisy child and grandparent. We had to pass them on the way to our table. The floor was littered with bits of half eaten food which wasn't a great first impression. Someone did complain and staff mentioned it to the family. When they left the floor was quickly cleaned up. Such a pity people are so disrespectful of their surroundings and other diners.

Always a cracking meal in here and the cafe bar downstairs is great for a wee coffee and a roll after a walk with the dog. Top notch.

Couldn't believe they charged £2.30 for a soda water and blackcurrant.

Was in naw lanark hotel for 3 days we where in town had no luck with getting a nice meal as places where fully booked or not open as its holidays the last night off the stay this places popped up ave got to say foot and staff service Was amazing really made the last day off trip perfect so just want to thank staff and sheffs

Six off us dined on a Sunday afternoon The food was good I had a black pudding and chorizo salad which was very tasty followed by chicken fajitas and apple crumble to finish. Others in our group had onion soup, & baked Camembert starters and braised beef, steak and chicken for mains, everyone enjoyed what they ordered. All in all the experience & the food was really good and reasonably priced ( £50 a head including 4 bottles of wine) will no doubt be visiting again when in Lanark.

We went here for Sunday lunch today and while we cannot fault the staff serving us the food wasn’t great. The chicken goujons were hard and tasteless and the steak pie was chewy. We used to love coming here and hadn’t been in a while. We also planned to buy vouchers as Christmas presents for family members but after the food we had we didn’t bother, I wouldn’t rush back.

Went with work for our Christmas lunch. The festive menu was good, I had the turkey and it was lovely.

This is my & my girlfriend’s favourite place, the place is always spotless, the staff always nice & the food always great, I always recommend here to my friends & colleagues.

Xmas Dinner with friends was very disappointing, kept waiting outside on broken tatty chairs in the cold,no offer of a seat inside while waiting. Dinner was pitiful,starter was worse,usual sticky toffee pudding,tiny in a pool of sugary syrup,probably Costco or Iceland. Dinner consisted of two thin slithers three inches long turkey,a tiny gelatinous square of stuffing wet and rubbery,three mini spuds and three tiny carrots,five undercooked sprouts served with some sort of cranberry jammy stuff all served with tasteless watery gravy. Cheap lentil soup and tiny potato and ham croquettes with a cold tomatoe sauce out of a jar we all reckoned. Got no more to say other than never again,sad it's hard to get decent food today.

10/10! Food was fantastic. Friendly service and was happy to pay what we did for a lovely meal

Loved this place. Went for a Sunday roast and the beef was sublime. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking and the location is really nice. Will definitely visit again.

Arrived at cafe approx 1.00 pm, party of four. We adhered to the ‘please wait sign before being seated ‘ for couple of minutes and no one came so as there were empty seats we proceeded to sit down. Shortly thereafter a young girl , waitress, appeared and began chastising us while literally throwing the menus in front of us. She launched into a tirade about ‘in the future wait before taking a seat the signs are there for a reason’! We accept that you clearly expect protocol to be followed to the letter busy or not. However I think it’s fair to expect to be spoken to in a professional, respectful manner and not an angry attitudinal one as we experienced from this young girl today. We have been long time weekly regulars but after this incident , sad to say will not be returning!

Absolutely loved our evening for my mum's 80th birthday. There were 17 of us and all of us had a great time. Meal was delicious, staff were excellent, atmosphere was wonderful. All in all we had the best time. Thankyou all

Possibly the most dog friendly place I’ve ever been to with the dog!

My family had a special celebration here. We left and when we got to the bottom of the stairs at the front of the building we realised we left our big celebration balloon, we quickly ran back inside where the staff told us they had 'destroyed it'. They couldn't have put it away for a few minutes in the hope we would come back for it as they said the balloon could pose 'a risk to children'. That's the kind of establishment this is. There was no apology, the balloon was nearly a tenner haha. This was after we spend over £230 for 5 adults, starters and mains, no sides, no desserts, 1 bottle of wine and 2 standard whiskeys and a coke. Don't recommend at all. The French onion soup was nice, although not worth the price or experience.

I got a cheese & onion toastie (£6.25) and my girlfriend got a cheese & ham toastie (£6.50). We got a portion of fries (£3.25) to share and two soft drinks (£2.30 each). We loved that our toasties were served with coleslaw, salad and crisps. We appreciated there being a drizzle of dressing on our salads too as a lot of cafés don’t tend to do this. As we were leaving, we decided to get two takeaway iced coffees with syrups (£3.45 each) - although we ended up handing them back and getting a refund as these were dreadful. Overall, we would return for food and soft drinks. It’s good that you can choose to sit outside if it’s a nice day too.

Great burgers. The place was really busy hut service was fast and friendly.

We sat outside as we had a dog. Nice service to begin with but when we wanted another drink, we had a fifteen minute wait, it was supposed to be table service. Eventually the drinks were ordered but nothing for another 15 minutes. We can get up and go to the bar but if it's table service, that's what you expect. We eventually got our bill and a nice waiter took time to have a quick chat and talk to the dog. It's the little things that make a huge difference. We have a rescue reactive dog, it would be really helpful if all dogs were kept on their leads and there was a sign saying so. There was one dog, off the lead just wandering around. Not everyone likes dogs and it was a big thing to us, having an unknown dog off its lead. The setting is gorgeous, we will go back and look forward to trying the food.

Staff were excellent and kept outside clean and safe fir diners and dogs. We sat outside with our dog who was treated well. Soup was delicious.

10s across the board!! Lovely and welcoming staff despite being very busy, I’d recommend the spicy chicken rigatoni and the garlicky prawns on toast. Many thanks to the staff and the chef for being so considerate and helpful throughout our experience.

The food is always consistently good. Service is always good despite how busy they can get at times. Always a great choice to enjoy a nice meal. I recommend to book a table as it’s a very popular restaurant.

Had mushrooms on mushy bread.Disgusting The Macaroni had zero cheese taste with chips that were probably old potatoes sprouting.Absolutely disgusting. 2diet cokes 6 pounds Final bill 40 pounds Just gutting parting with kind of money for food you wouldn’t give to your dog. Called in here on the way north for some food. I've usually been disappointed finding somewhere to eat on a Sunday after 5pm but this place was open so we gave it a shot. Food was delicious (it was a Sunday but we had a full menu to choose from in addition to the Sunday Roast). We had Chicken Balmoral.. chicken breast and haggis with Drambuie sauce - cooked perfect.. not too rich but plenty of flavour. Would highly recommend!

Young lady that served us was really rude, never ever been spoken to in such a way,we really wanted to leave but our food was there, and did not want to make a screen, but there was a young gentleman serving other tables he was so polite and well mannered, will definitely never be back and will tell my family and friends to stay well away

Table placement was perfect and exactly what we asked for. Service was impeccable and all of the staff are very friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious, and we all enjoyed the evening. My other daughter and her Grandad had been the day before and also thoroughly enjoyed it.

Just been here for Christmas Eve family dinner. I have to say it was exceptional. The bladed beef in red wine jus was soft tender and delicious. The chefs at Cut in Bothwell need to take tips on how to cook beef from theses folks. Three course Christmas menu was just under £30. Outstanding value for money. Finally, can't leave a review without leaving a comment about the equally exceptional service we received too.

Went here today with my fiancé and kids. Food was very good and service was very good too. Will definitely be back here next time I'm over this way 👌🏻. 5* all round and highly recommended.

Een gezellig en druk restaurant wat je zeker vantevoren moet reserveren. We hebben met 4 man allemaal heerlijk gegeten. Personeel was erg vriendelijk.

Complete gem of a place with great ambience, service, food weirdness accommodation, selection and knowledge of drinks. Huge mains and very clean. Would highly recommend. Just remember to book in advance! Well done team Inn on the Loch ❤️

Thoroughly enjoyed the meal I had here. Service was good, food really good. Just a bit of a wait to get the bill, It was accessible for anyone with walking issues. Would eat here again if I was in the area.

I'd never visited before despite growing up in nearby Carluke and found the restaurant pleasant. Was ideal for a family Sunday lunch.

We had Sunday lunch at the Inn on the Loch and were impressed by the friendly service and generous portions. The food was OK but it was obvious that the roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings had been sitting around for quite a while. Highlight for me was the breaded Camembert starter which came with a nice little salad.

Food in here was amazing staff were very polite and professional good selection of food and thought the quality of the food was very good portions were big as well highly recommend.

Visited the cafe. Lots.of G.F choices on the menu. Great sandwiches, the pulled.chilli beef was fantastic Lovely doggy menu, our 2 dogs loved their sausages. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Just popped in on a Saturday night on the off chance and they did have a table available. The food was very good, with alcohol free lager also available. All the staff were very nice and helpful, asking if everything was ok at each course.

Great place to chill out and enjoy a drink or have some food. Easy parking beside the Loch. Spacious with a good menu. Staff friendly and restaurant clean. Food was tasty.

It's like a basic beefeater however service was Very good - was very busy but we didn't wait too long for food. Reasonable price. Separate vegan menu!! With lot's of options.

My wife and I have visited on a number of occasions. You can sit in or outside. There is disabled access. Toilets are available. You are served at your table. It overlooks Lanark Loch. It is an ideal place to bring children and even dogs.

This is my second visit here and both times the food has been poor I thought I was just unlucky on my first visit but nope they couldn't even make a toastie that well and it had a hair melted within the cheese and the side of crisps were stale I did alert the waitress but she was not interested she just said if I wanted a replacement I would have to wait atleast 30 minutes on it as they were very busy , Its also meant to be a dog freindly restaurant but anytime a dog growled or barked i overheard a waitress tell the dog owners they would have to move outside or leave if the dogs didn't be quiet this place could be something special if it wasn't for the arrogant anti dog staff and restaurant manager and a little better hygiene standards

My husband and I had a delicious 3 course dinner in this lovely restaurant. Staff were friendly and attentive. Menu provided a varied selection of courses at very competitive prices. Husband's first time here, don't think it will be his last!
