Stayed in the Queen Victoria room/suite for 2 nights for son/daughter in laws wedding (Aug, 17 2024). It was a wonderful wedding venue, think Victorian-gothic stately home with a quirky vibe & charm that is unique to old English country houses. Bear in mind this is an ancient house & has a few quirks with the plumbing -so if you have a perfection complex you're clearly more of a travel lodge type! The staff were delightful, helpful, patient & all round fabulous; they were also attentive & proactive in attending to any issues & requests. Highly recommended. The grounds are awesome! Mary D.

We looked on Tripadvisor when travelling nearby and did a quick detour for lunch and are so glad we did! We (humans and a dog!) received a very warm welcome. I had the rainbow trout and I can honestly say it was the nicest meal I’ve had in a long time, my husband also very much enjoyed his steak pie. It made his day when he realised the fruit crumble was rhubarb as that’s always been his absolute fave! If in the area again we would definitely return!

Really quite bad experience culminating in paying restaurant prices for wines that are quite clearly bought from the local shop or supermarket!! How can an establishment expect members of the public to folk out almost £20 for a bottle of wine that cost no more that £5, literally around the corner!!

Fantastic eatery with a traditional pub feel. Welcoming staff and a roaring fire made us feel relaxed as soon as we entered. Good range of drinks, including alcohol free and the menu is varied with some innovative dishes. I highly recommend the sourdough appetiser and the chicken gochujang spring roll starter, unbelievably tasty. We opted for fish and chips as mains, and again we weren’t disappointed, beautifully cooked with great sides, including a wee pot of curry sauce. Overall, a great experience from start to finish, staff were attentive and cheerful, without being intrusive, I highly recommend this place. 10/10.

What a lovely pub, great ambience as you walk in and lovely staff. Dinner with a friend on a October evening. I had an inventive creation of lightly curried sea trout which was quite excellent while my friend had a burger and fries which were equally good. Then I had apple crumble with custard which was quite inedible! The apple was microwaved to about 1000 degrees with something like chewy and tasteless like quinoa on top with a little jug of thin and lumpy custard. How can you murder something as simple as apple crumble? And if it doesn't involve butter, sugar and flour then it isn't crumble! But I'd happily go back because it was so pleasant, just avoid the apple not-crumble.

Lovely little restaurant with a welcoming atmosphere and friendly and attentive staff . The food was beautifully cooked and presented. A memorable night. I doubt this culinary experience would be beaten by any establishment of its type in Lincolnshire.

We visit The Seagull regularly for their Burger deal on a friday, The food is always hot and tastes great (good quality burgers!) and the portions are large. The staff here are great, especially Diane who always goes out of her way to check our meals are good and provide us a great service. I recommend this restaurant for their quality tasty food, and fast efficient friendly service.

I cannot believe I have waited until now to try this restaurant. Chose the sirloin with pepper sauce, the steak was huge and cooked to perfection, the pepper sauce was the best I’ve ever had. Sides Of onion rings and French fries. The batter on the onion rings was light and crispy. From walking through the door to leaving, the service was first class, yet we was welcomed like family. Already looking at dates to book another visit. Definitely the best restaurant in hull.

Visited Lynmouth using the Exmoor Explorer Bus from Minehead. It was a very chilly day so we needed something to warm us up - two hot chocolates did the trick. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Cost was a little over the usual but the taste made up for it. Service was quick Brilliant views out to sea. An extremely pleasant experience. Will we visit again - definitely
