St Michael's Bath Cafe in Bath and North East Somerset

The lady at the entrance had a horrible welcome attitude. We were recently at the branch in Windsor two days ago, and it was an amazing experience ,that’s why we decided to go to the branch in Bath. Unfortunately, the food was horrible, they placed us in an area where no body was around, only the lovely locas were in a different area. I would strongly suggest to not visit this branch in Bath. I swear to God, do not come here, it’s not worth it.

Cote Bath is a lovely venue for a meal, a hidden gem. We opted for the three course set menu for about £23 and it was great value. Three of us ate. The service was a bit all over the place but overall, the waitress tried her hardest whilst busy. The food was served quickly and was lovely and fresh. The wine was fantastic. I would highly recommend for a mid week meal in Bath.

Cote has a lovely balance of relaxed and smart…pre match Rugby lunch today (Sunday) and it is just a wonderful place to eat.

Food varied from good to average. Basic but not bad.

Lovely service. Vegetarian food nicely presented and cooked but could be much tastier. If you subscribe to a newsletter, they also do good offers.

Sub par quality for the breakfast unfortunately. Cote is in a nice location and it's been there for decades but the food needs an upgrade. We ordered scrambled eggs with salmon and poached eggs with avocado on toast. Egg quality definitely not great but worst of all really overcooked to the point that the eggs were like cardboard. To top it all up the bread was really poor and not toasted. Overall for £30+ I would expect much better quality especially when Bath is full of fantastic bakeries and produce.

A delicious meal and great atmosphere. The Steak was delicious and the Syrah wine was very good too. Will be returning next time in bath.

Excellent experience here! Food and service was lovely, and the staff made a special night for us even more special! Can't wait to visit again.

Friendly and efficient service at this branch of Cote.

I booked a table for 2 for my 22nd birthday. I had been looking forward to it all week, I have eaten at cote many times before and have always enjoyed my meals but last night was surely the worst experience I've ever had. When we arrived, no one was even sure where we were sitting. We were seated and met with our waitress, who was so incredibly rude to both myself and my mum. When ordering, I asked for the passion in Paris cocktail, after about 5 minutes of waiting the waitress returned to tell me that they didn't have the ingredients for it. I said that's fine, it happens often and opted to just drink water. We then ordered our food, I had the steak frites and my mum chose the salmon. My mum has a dairy allergy so didn't have the bernaise sauce. When our food arrived, my steak was literally grey in colour and pink inside even though I'd asked for medium rare. I sent the steak back and the second steak I got was just as bad, completely grey in colour, complete lack of flavour and just cooked horribly. I complained and we got the meal on the house in the end, but I fear that doesn't make up for the complete lack of experience. I had somewhere else booked and changed my mind to go to cote instead and now I wish I hadn't. It completely ruined my birthday, I didn't even have anything to eat for my dinner and I left hungry. We were offered desserts but I was completely put off after the two inedible steaks. A couple next to us seemed to have the same problem with their beef so there was obviously something up. Just incredibly disappointed, wasn't worth the travel from Bristol or London for my mum. I Definitely wouldn't recommend

We booked a table to celebrate our anniversary. The menu had a good range of options and food was wonderful. The place was very busy but the staff were lovely and made us feel very looked after.

Finding somewhere good for brunch in Bath is easy. Finding somewhere BOOKABLE is not. Whilst I do like to support local business where I can, if they don’t take bookings, then their utility is much reduced. Cote was excellent in terms of service interior and menu. My eggs Benedict was well cooked and presented perfectly. The hollandaise sauce had its iconic taste. The salinity of the ham complemented the richness of the yolk from the egg. Mimosas and champagne were great as-well. Would recommend!

Try the beef bourguignon it's to die for, very consistent, l had the ribeye Steak it has not rested enough, still bleeding on the plate, l wished l had beef bourguignon my wife had it this time. There is a dog friendly section in Bath so handy we booked for Valentines ❤️

Spur of the moment lunch choice but we now from visiting various Côte restaurants that you are never disappointed there. The Valentines offer was confusing and poor value but, from the menu, the Bretton Fish stew and Fish parmentier were excellent choices. The young woman manager is especially welcoming and efficient.

Lovely food in boutique type brasserie

Our server Sanjana was so kind, warm and welcoming. Excellent service with a smile on her face the whole time and amazing time management!!

A lovely meet with friends that we all enjoyed. Food was delicious , our service was second to none . Anya did a superb job serving our large table , her patience and pleasant manner helped make our experience extra special. Would definitely return

Beautiful food, especially the cheese souffle, with friendly and attentive staff. Very good range of gluten free food on its own menu, and each dish flagged.

Had an excellent experience as a group of 15 for a summer evening dinner. Set menu is very good value. Great service, attentive, friendly and efficient. Will be back again for our next Xmas do. UPDATE: Had an thoroughly enjoyable late Xmas group dinner (Jan 2025) with 18 guests. Again, very attentive and friendly service. Plenty of good value choice from the set menu and a la carte selections.

The event was a leaving meal for a popular senior colleague, and this restaurant was perfect. Most people preordered from the fixed price menu. Parking was in a nearby public car park.

The woman in charge was unfriendly and told me off for "sitting myself down" outside, which I am sure she would find, had she bothered to give me a chance, is actually against Disability Laws. I had just come up the steps, have mobility problems and needed to sit down. All I wanted was to look at a menu; there were only two other people around anyway! Went to "The Architect" instead, where thankfully the staff were a lot more friendly!! Frankly, they couldn't have got much less!!

Went here for our Xmas works doo, was a great evening, I had French onion soup and beef cheeks with a cheese board desert and lots of beer, was delicious

Buzzing atmosphere here, we dropped in for lunch on a Thursday as the Christmas Market was on, brilliant service, will definitely be coming back.

The place is cozy at night. The service is perfect; staff are very friendly.

Thankfully we had booked a table I would have hated missing out on lunch here. Bridget was our waitress and she was a delightful young lady, so patient when I couldn't decide on a wine. Her knowledge and then her suggestion was fantastic. Great food and wine which made our lunch with our friends even more special.

Food was exceptional. The beef bourginon especially. Chocolate tart was great. I would say desserts are slightly expensive. As one dessert we had tonight was a creme caramel and for nearly £9 is a bit of a joke. Decor all nice and new since it has been done. Good options for all food and drink. Any bad points then the food made up for it.

Everything was exceptional from the food to drinks and staff. And the new decor. As always the manageress is amazing. Love the fact she remembered us form two months ago. We will be returning once a month. Thank you for making our day so special.

Welcome was great, with a smile! Atmosphere and staff were super polite and very very warm and nice! The food was cherry on the top, just was melting in our mouths! Definitely recommend and will be back!

Lovely coffee,lovely and friendly staff

Clearly a problem in the kitchen on Saturday evening as waited a long time for food which was of such an inferior quality to other Cote restaurants have visited over many years. Young man serving us was extremely rude. Bad experience all round so very disappointed.

Had the fixed price menu absolutely brilliant couldn't fault it. Fantastic service by Theo credit to the team. Look forward to returning soon

A really lovely Cote, tucked away off in a cute corner in Bath. The staff were brilliant, friendly and very attentive. The food all tasted good, and the set menu is a really good option.

I generally dislike chain restaurants but the Côte in Bath is consistently good. The food is delicious and the staff are always very nice. Special occasions are acknowledged and the atmosphere of the restaurant is perfect.

Walk in table of 6 including 3 hungry children. Wonderfully accomodating and friendly. Food was fabulous and they even charged my phone for me. Thank you! Also one girl (whose second shift it was, sorry I didn't get name) should get a nod. Very friendly and smiley!

French toast was to die for and very affordable

Even though we made a reservation for our anniversary, not even a candle came to our table. In fact, it wasn't just at our table. We found the food and desserts to be a little more than I could handle. It is relatively affordable compared to the surrounding restaurants

Team member failed to ask if my steak was OK. It wasn't. Manager resolved the issue with understanding and professionism.

Amazing food- not a complaint amount the group. I would order a second french onion soup! The baked camembert was delicious, even for the 2 yr old. Good accommodation for inside and outside seating, children, and great drink options. This gem is nestled within the block with great lighting and even better ambiance. The service was helpful, friendly and kind. I'd come back often!

Very good food, excellent quality calamari and the onion soup is great. Had to send back steak as overcooked but they were very nice and replaced quickly and we're happy to do so. Very reasonable pricing also!

An impromptu Saturday evening visit. They were booked up but accommodated us on the terrace. Good food served in a timely manner with good service. The beef cheek bourguignon was superb and piping hot!

The team were organised, even though busy they made sure we had the tablet for nut allergies, and it's use and the table clearly explained. Three of us had confit pork belly -it was fab. One had the burger and loved it.. The Syrah excellent, the restaurant, the lower floor nice buzzy but not overly noisy. All in all a great time and good value for money. And recommend the cafe gourmand for desert. The profiteroles, modeling and macaroni and coffee were a great end to the meal.

Food here is amazing, and the staff are so friendly. We were served by Tom who was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about the menu. Ordered the scallops to start and they were delicious. For mains I had the fish stew which was full of flavour and came with a lovely bit of crusty bread. My partner had the mussels and said they were fresh and filling. We both ordered the raspberry mojito which I really recommend, it was tart but sweet. Lovely spot tucked away from the busy streets, would 100% recommend.

Seb. He handled us so flippin well. We work at a different restaurant in bath 12 of us went to have some work party. We were given amazing corner and the food was just delightful. Cote has amazing range of wine and also they are very warm and welcoming. But nothing topped Sebastian our server, who served the whole table took care of us all night. If you go in ask if seb can handle you and I'm sure everything will be fine. Thanks for the amazing time cote!

You can usually rely on Cote to supply Steak Frites well. This was delicious. The staff were lovely. I was driving and their 0% lager was delicious. The Frites were crispy and hot. The steak tender.

One of a favourite well visited restaurants in Bath. The staff are always so attentive, in particular the two K's very smiley, chatty and professional. We are looking forward to coming back when the refurbishment is done to see the new look. this will complete this lovely restaurant.

We visited Bath on a tour. We found this restaurant by accident . The service was prompt and friendly. The food was delicious. All the staff were very knowledgeable and they were able to accommodate a Gluten allergy better than any other we’ve been to in the UK. It is an exceptional hidden gem.

I went to have the french toast since it was supposedly one of the best and it was okey and the coffee was not great either. The service was not great I was ignored several times and I had to approach one of the waiters to pay because 10 minutes passed since I asked for the bill and no one came to charge me.

The team were wonderful - we were celebrating our honeymoon and they took the time to ask us about our wedding and even treated us to some free drinks! The food was fantastic too and it was a beautiful place. We will definitely be back!

went out for dinner with my partner which we rarely do and the food was gorgeous! the hostess was clearly run off her feet but made sure to spend time with us while she took our order and the other young lady was also warm and friendly. the côte de boeuf was gorgeous and the wine was yum. our first visit did not disappoint and we will definitely be back!

Very noisy place on a Friday evening. Service was very good, but the atmosphere was awful. Lots of parties having a good time but very loudly. Food was OK, but didn't really match the descriptions on the menu.

Beautiful setting , great food and super waiting staff

Really disappointing experience. The person serving was very unfriendly . Felt unwelcome maybe because we were the only Asians there. Been to many branches in multiple different cities which were much more busier.Never had this experience, this is very disappointing. Had to leave early and didn't order mains. The management should look into the way employees treat customers. Being a doctor in the NHS seeing how busy we are we ALWAYS meet a patient with a smile that's the least we can do.

A friend & I visited Cote in Bath Thursday 4th July. We were greeted warmly by the staff & seated very quickly. I ordered the mushroom Bourguignon which was just delicious, followed by a chocolate melt, which was equally yummy. There was a lovely atmosphere in the restaurant & we enjoyed the pleasant experience of having a relaxing lunch. I will certainly be returning….

My husband and I visited Cote, Bath, on Monday for my special birthday lunch. Lovely place. The food was wonderful,the service very good and made my birthday that extra bit special.

AVOID !! Service was awful. Was seated at a table over half an hour later we still had no drinks or anyone even speak to us again. We left they were obviously too busy to accommodate us in their establishment. I am still unsure on why they took the booking in the first place.

Excellent place for breakfast/brunch located inside the Milsom Place group of shops/eateries. Staff was very courteous, food was lovely and an enjoyable experience for our family!
