Great vibes, lovely food, quick to buy drinks. Clean bathrooms. We went for a pub quiz but I’ve been here before, a must do in the neighbourhood. Great staff!!

Review: 5/5 – A Pub So Perfect It Feels Like Coming Home to a Hug From the Universe If pubs were cathedrals, this would be the Sistine Chapel of pints and pork scratchings. From the moment I stepped through the low, creaking door, I was embraced by a warmth so deep and so pure I nearly wept. The lighting? Golden. Not “bulb golden” but “sunset spilling across a field of wheat as a choir of angels hum softly in the distance” golden. The bartender, Dave — or Saint Dave, as I shall henceforth call him — didn’t just pour me a drink. No. He bestowed upon me a hand-pulled ale so perfectly balanced, so miraculously foamy, I could’ve sworn I heard a harp. Each sip was like being wrapped in a cashmere blanket and kissed gently on the forehead by every good decision I’ve ever made. The atmosphere? Imagine the platonic ideal of comfort. If the concept of “belonging” could be distilled into a scent, it would be this pub’s faint blend of wood smoke, citrusy hops, and the intangible magic of memories waiting to be made. The old man at the bar told me a story about how he met his wife here in 1967 and I cried into my pie. And what a pie. Steak and ale that tasted like it had been simmering for a thousand years in the cauldron of some ancient god of pastry. The toilets were cleaner than my soul. The music? Acoustic covers of classics, played just softly enough to let conversation bloom like spring flowers between strangers destined to become friends. I left three hours later, blinking into the cold night like a newborn deer, unsure how the world outside could ever hope to compare. If I could marry this pub, I would. If I could bottle it and carry it in my coat pocket for rainy days, I’d never be sad again. To say I recommend it is like saying the stars are “quite nice.” This is not a pub. It is a pilgrimage.

Rich was a great server at moorfields and really helpful when I didn’t feel great to box my food up to take home. The food and drinks were lovely too and a great price!

All of the staff are friendly and helpful. I go so frequently now that they know my name and what my favourite drinks are. Lush garden too. Recommended

Food fair. Good service. Wouldn't rush back, but ok if you need to eat.

Super easy to book a table. Staff were fantastic and we received a really good welcome and top service. Our dog was welcome too and there’s enough space between tables that the dog isn’t in the way or bothering other diners. It was fun to try their various beers. The food on the night was average.

We had a Monday evening dinner. Everything went smoothly and the food was very good. We were able to use our blue light card so it was nice to get some discount. I ordered the beef pie from the specials menu and it was very good. I highly recommend

We came here for a Roast on Mothers Day and it was fantastic. We don’t often go out for roasts as we find they’re disappointing, but this was the opposite. The pork and chicken was tender, and the veggie option was delicious. The roast potatoes and other veg seemed fresh, rather than being dry and hot-held. Staff were lovely and accommodating for an allergy too! We’ll be back again and definitely recommending to others.

The place was recommended by our airbnb hosts. It was a Friday evening, so the pub was super busy. The staff was kind enough to make space for two of us at the dining area. We ordered the king prawns, BBQ chicken wings, pepperoni pizza and warm focaccia bread with olives. The food was delicious and fresh . The bread was top notch and so soft . The place had a charming e with helpful and friendly staff. Highly recommend.

Food here is great! The staff are lovely and we enjoy doing the quiz on a Tuesday, it starts at 8pm which is great as I can get the kids to bed before going out! 👌

Friendly pub for family and friends

This is a gem of a place. Great ambience. Despite being a gastro pub, it is down to earth and understated. The food is not cheap but actually worth it. Even the ketchup is delicious!

Service and staff have always been exceptional every time I’m visited the Moorfields, the food is great and the pints are delicious.

Had the pleasure of eating at the Moorfields last night while staying in bath on holiday, had the pork and venison scotch egg as a starter, didn’t expect to see that on the menu but had to try it and it didn’t disappoint at all and then Korean chicken burger which which had a amazing sauce with it. The service was amazing our server Gina was very knowledgeable about the menu and helped us out amazingly. Would highly recommend if you’re in bath and get the opportunity to head there.

Is a really nice, well decorated pub! We went as a group and thought the burgers were a little bit disappointing for their price and took an hour to arrive. If it wasn’t for the price I would have rated it much higher.

The best place for a Sunday roast! Really tasty and amazing veggie and vegan options as well. The sticky toffee pudding is unreal. Great service and a lovely atmosphere. My third visit and will definitely continue to return!

I rang up to see if they were still doing roasts at 615pm. They said they were until 8pm so I drove straight over, it was half empty and they said they weren't doing roasts for 'walk ins' and did I want to see anything else from the menu? Err, no! So I went to the Marlborough and they said they didn't have any tables but I could sit at the bar to eat. Fine! He also purposely didn't charge for my pint of lime and soda. Proper customer service. Some places don't seem to be bothered, wierd..

We’ve eaten at The Moorfields many time when visiting our daughter and family who live locally. We’d hoped that the transition to a St Austell Brewery owned property (we reside in Cornwall)would have given it a boost. However, we found the menu rather lacklustre and a retrograde step from its previous incarnation. Our beer battered hake and chips was cooked well but a small portion, sufficient for lunch but over priced. My pint of Tribute was flat and poorly kept. We didn’t complain as that would have spoiled our meeting with old friends but having chosen the venue felt obliged to pay the bill. We won’t hurry back until we hear that it has improved.

We came for Sunday lunch last week and the food was great, the team are always lovely and really helpful. We had the pork belly roast and the goats cheese cheese salad along with starters and everything was great and very generous portion sizes.

The Sunday lunch was lovely but the service was a bit slow - wasn’t busy when we arrived but did pick up over the following hour. I thought it was pretty expensive. Would go again but maybe only for a special occasion.

The usual very warm welcome at The Moorfields. We were there with our son for Sunday Roast. A good selection of AF beers (I was driving) and three roasts were up to the usual high standard. Roast potatoes and veggies in particular really good. A great pub/restaurant with plenty of room for everyone. Thanks to all once again!

Came for an evening meal, food was outstanding. Steak pie was amazing, 5 stars for the gravy alone.

We were taken here by good friends for a pre-Christmas dinner. The food was excellent and the sticky toffee pudding is well worth a try. The staff were helpful and friendly and I won't hesitate to return in the future.

Our lovely local. Great for everything: I meet friends for drinks and lunch, my family visit for meals and drinks, sports are on and I can often find a quiet corner for a business coffee. Games behind the bar, kids cartons in the fridge, teas and coffees available, great selection of beers and a great menu.

Our local go to bar and restaurant . . . this was a special event, Christmas Day lunch. As is usual the staff were welcoming and professional . . . Our ‘Christmas feast’ was a resounding festive success . . . we had chosen a traditional Xmas lunch of trout roulade starter, followed by turkey, finishing with Xmas pud. All courses were expertly presented and delicious, added mini-courses complemented the main event. Thank you Moorfields for making our special day . . . very special. Merry Christmas

I came here for my nephews birthday as we heard it was good food, it wasn't just good, it was beautiful, I had the Korean chicken burger with fries and it was so nice, I had to order another one. The atmosphere was really nice, the staff were really friendly and professional. Thanks to the team for making my nephews birthday memorable.

Really excellent meal. I had hake in lobster sauce from the specials list. Shared starters of nachos and gyoza which were also delicious. Waitress was incredibly efficient and friendly too.

My Airbnb host, based walking distance from the pub, has recommended me the place during my short visit to Bath. I dined by myself here twice, each time it was a great experience. Staff is very helpful, friendly and attentive but not intrusive. Food is uncomplicated, well presented, and very well cooked. I had sirloin steak one night, and it was made exactly as I ordered and like it. Great atmosphere here too, with live music. If I'll be staying nearby again, I'll definitely come back.

Best Sunday lunch I have had in a long long time. Couldn’t fault it at all. Definitely recommend it.

This was one of the nicest Sunday roasts I've ever had. I arrived an hour early but my table was ready so my server offered me a tab and took me to my seat. The staff were friendly and very attentive throughout, and the food arrived quickly. I had the rolled pork belly, which fell apart as soon as my knife touched it. Delicious. The Yorkshire pudding was huge and had the right combination of crispy and pillowy. The roast potatoes were well cooked, lovely thick gravy and sweet pickled cabbage underneath went very well with the pork. The bubbly crackling was a bit too hard to get through in public without looking like a dog gnawing on a bone, but otherwise I cleaned my plate. I then had the berry cheesecake, which was just the right size not to be overwhelming after a large main. After I finished eating, I sat on one of the comfy sofas waiting for the rain to ease, with a pint of real ale. A great find while on holiday in Englishcombe.

Went for another Sunday roast with my family and as always, food was delicious. Easy to book online. There was a bit of a wait for food to be served, but it was worth it. Desserts all super tasty and great portions too.

One of my favourite places for a roast dinner in bath. Beautiful meals for me and my friends. We tried the roast beef, chicken and the pork. All exquisite and delicious. Sides of pigs in blankets and cauliflower cheese also delicious!! Thank you so much!

My wife and I went for Sunday lunch, we had booked which is advisable. The staff were very freindly and efficient. Drinks and then the food came quickly. Plenty of food and well cooked. Nice atmosphere but not loud.

Went for Sunday dinner, so we had the roast. Slow roasted pork belly was excellent. Potatoes a bit dry but the other veges, gravy crackling and Yorkshire pudding were great. Lovely staff, great service.

The Moorfields has been for some time now our go-to for Sunday Lunch. The quality of the food and size of portions cannot be exaggerated, as you will find it difficult to find better elsewhere in Bath at the prices asked. And I can definitely recommend both the Chicken Sunday Roast and Beef; the size of the Yorkshire Puddings, in each, can only be described as enormous. The staff are always friendly and welcoming on arrival, and rarely do you have long to wait before being shown to your table. I really cannot recommend The Moorfields enough, they are truly one of the best venues in Bath for traditional dining and they also have a good range of drinks, both alcoholic and soft. I would recommend booking, especially for Sunday Lunch as it can sometimes get quite busy. There are a limited number of street parking bays available near-by, with the spaces designated for 3 hours of free parking; other parking can be found in adjacent streets. There is a dedicated entrance for wheelchairs and pushchairs available.

Most disappointing roast in Bath

Lovely spacious interior plus big outdoor patio. Nice decor, not too noisy, excellent pizza.

What a place for a Sunday roast. Lovely sitting area inside and out. You watch the chef prepare the food which I always like. The food was not to disappoint, well presented, so much flavour & freshness. It didn't look a lot on the plate but it was all hidden under the big Yorkshire and meat. I had the beef and the missus had the pork belly. 👌👌👌👌 reasonably price for what you get.

This pub is great for any night out, the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, thanks Gina for the whiskey recommendations :). As well as the charming decor and great food, the whole atmosphere of this pub is very inviting and the regular guests are always up for a chat. Prices are a bit punchy, and garden could do with more maintenance, but fresh pints and good enough food. garden is a bit bare, would be nice to have something for the kids to play with.

Most blant Peperoni Pizza I've eaten. It does the job as being edible food, but that's about it. It's missing the flavor to be a good pizza.

Expensive with unfriendly bar staff ...,when I complained about the price I was told , I should have bought my drink in a shop.......somebody spent a lot of money doing this place up only to ruin it employing foolish staff

Whilst my wife and I were super early and came in for breakfast, The staff were very tentative and friendly so early on in the morning. However the food was not worth the money we spent.

Able to get a last minute seat for a Sunday roast. Great vegetarian options, and lovely selection of beers/ciders. They have a lovely outdoor seating area with table service which was lovely in the sunshine.
