A wonderful little find. Wish we had found it three days earlier. The staff made us ( Aussie Tourists) feel extremely welcome. Atmosphere was exactly like you think an English pub would be like. Food - well I have yet to have a better pie on mash with perfectly cooked veggies. Sooooo worth the visit. Great value great place great people.

I visited Thr Pulteney pub on Sunday around 14:30, hoping to enjoy some nice fish and chips. Unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. When I arrived, the bar staff informed me that the kitchen was closed, which was frustrating given that Google’s opening times indicated that food service was available. It’s always disheartening when expectations don’t align with reality, especially when you’re looking forward to a specific meal. I hope that the restaurant can address this inconsistency in their hours, as it would greatly enhance the experience for future guests.

This was the second time we've been here only to be told there was no record of our booking. Manager seemed to suggest it was our fault for booking via telephone. We would have stayed to take her offer of a high table and stools, but she was so rude and complacent, we left and went to The Raven in Central Bath, where we had excellent food and service. She might have a good business because the food at Pulteney is excellent, but she's lost us as customers (we visited often) because of their poor booking system and her manner.

I was peacefully having my meal in pub’s smallest room for three tables when a huge unleashed dog came and started putting its head in my plate. So I simply take this pub as an irresponsible business that doesn’t care about all its visitors. Left today without even finishing my meal. Shame.

Stopped for dinner on a Wednesday evening. No seats on main floor because it’s “quiz” night. They offered the upstairs room which was perfectly lovely. Hubs had the mushroom risotto and it was tasteless and watery. No salt and pepper on the table. The woman who takes your order at the bar was a bit busy pouring beer that she didn’t put my order in, so didn’t receive mine. I didn’t know if she was going back to the kitchen to get it, so I didn’t say anything but never saw the waitress again. It is dog friendly and the staff was friendly. If you’re looking for a pint, standard bar food, and quiz night on Wednesday, it’s perfect then.

I went to the Pulteney Arms in Bath primarily for lunch. I had fish and chips with a coffee which came to £17.50. There should be something on the menu for everyone. This pub is only about 10 minutes walk from Bath city centre but is in a lovely (and rather hidden) location close to Henrietta Park. This is quite a small pub, an end terrace on a street corner. There are about six tables inside with a similar number outside. Note that this is very much a dog-friendly pub so if canines are not for you then best stay away. The resident dog is a lab called Hugo and several other well-behaved dogs came in with their owners whilst I was dining.

Cosy, welcoming pub with open fire and gorgeous black lab intimidating everyone eating with his sad, sad eyes! Delighted to find this the third place I've found in Bath with Aspalls on tap - sheer nectar after the dreadful and ubiquitous Thatchers. Had the Sunday roast which was ok - would be improved if the thick gravy wasn't poured over everything. Not quite up to its reputation, I'd say. Will definitely be back for the atmosphere and the Aspalls, though may pass on the food.

Merece hacerlo bien.

Rose Cottage is a great community cafe ran by amazing volunteers and lead by the charismatic and Friendly Nathan! We ordered the breakfast and Nathan not only brought it out with a big smile but he did an amazing dance routine whilst serving us, it was like having Fred Astaire right at our table! Then the rest of the Kitchen staff joined him and sang us a medley of songs from Joseph and the techni colour dream coat, they were so good it was like being in the west end. The Hot chocolate was served with so much cream it looks liked a creamy volcano. We are pretty sure Lewis Capaldi was on the table opposite us as well.
