Where to begin. I took the wife for mother's day after seeing the good reviews. It makes you wonder if the reviews are real or if it has been some kind of bot service that did it. While the service is ok, the food was extremely poor. This is probably the worse Spanish food experience I have ever had in London. Upon ordering, I was very surprise that our Seafood Paella was at the table within 10-15 mins it was obviously not made from scratch and it was not even the right bomba rice that is used for a paella. The tapas followed the paella after a minute. All the seafood didn't taste fresh at all with some very rubbery and bland calamari, overcooked prawns and a pork belly drowned in bbq sauce. Everything seemed to be cooked who knows how long before we arrive and it was just reheated. Actually we where told by the waiter that the paella was indeed reheated. At the end having 3 tapas, a paella for 1 person, 2 beers, 1 portion of bread and a burger for my daughter it came up to £120.00 including the service. I would have rather had bad service with excellent food but this was not the case.

I must say for the location this is very pricey. I have been to many Spanish restaurants and I haven’t experienced a situation where I came out of the restaurant hungry . The portions are very small for the price you are paying. The paellla was small probably enough for 1 adult and a child. Normally expect it to be enough for at least 2 or 3 adults. £28 for a paella dish in Kingston , not London , not even by the riverside, certainly is very pricey. It was average as welll taste wise. Nothing wow. Another thing to note they had a set menu for Mother’s Day charging £42 pp. this really is ridiculous as this is a family occasion so there are children involved and you wouldn’t want to pay that much even if the child was 18yrs . Pretty excessive. So they really need to get their pricing right. You can have a set menu for Valentine’s Day, not Mother’s Day so it’s just a money making scandal. Our bill of 18 pp with 7 kids included came to £455 with most of us leaving hungry. With that sort of pricing you don’t feel like ordering more and surely will not come back. Service was also terrible , we had 3 different people serving us and not attending. We had to calll them many times so really felt like we were robbed purely. Apart from the ambience which increases the rating , not a place I’d recommend for food. We also ate on saucer sized plates as in cup and saucer. For charging customers so much at least serve decent sized dinner plates.

The service was really good but the food was probably the worse Spanish meal I’ve ever had! Paella was cooked in less than 15 min so obviously it was just heated up and not freshly cooked, the seafood was not even fresh, we ordered calamari as well and it was so chewy, the prawns we did not eat them as they tasted so bad!

The team at The Pottery were absolutely amazing hosting our Masquerade Ball this Saturday. A beautiful venue, fantastic food and such great staff. Thank you for looking after us!!! Many thanks from the whole Psychology Society Team at Kingston University.

Came here with my mate and enjoyed a really nice lunch in the garden. We had some burgers and tapas the drinks were really nice and the service was top tier highly recommend. Great place in Kingston for lunch.

What a great little find! The Pottery Tapas Bar exceeded all expectations. The decor was just fabulous, the food delicious and the portion sizes extremely generous - especially the vegan paella which I had to take home as there was so much but I simply didn’t want to miss out as it was so tasty. The staff were very friendly and someone who I gathered was the owner also came and spoke to guests and welcomed us. The prices were reasonable and fair considering the great ambience of the restaurant and the quality of food. There’s no where quite like it in the area that’s for sure! Will definitely be coming back and bringing new guests!

Once upon a time, this was The Borough Arms Pub, and I can’t help but feel a twinge of regret that I never got to pull up a stool and sip a warm pint in its former life. That said, The Pottery has done a fine job reinventing itself—swapping pints for patatas bravas and giving Norbiton a little slice of Spain (or at least, a distant cousin who once went on holiday there). The garden? Fantastic. The decor? Quirky and fun—like someone took inspiration from a Spanish holiday villa but wanted a hint of surrealism. The tapas, though? Let’s just say if you’re really hungry, you’ll need to order generously. Each plate arrives with the confidence of a full meal but the portion size of a polite afterthought. However, the paella (yes, I had to triple-check that spelling) is the hero of the menu—good-sized, tasty, and well-cooked. Just one issue: the chorizo is salty. I get that it’s mixed with seafood, but no one wants their meat tasting like it was fished straight from the Atlantic. Drinks-wise, do yourself a favor and skip the house lager—it’s forgettable at best. Instead, grab a pint of Saint Micks, which has far more character and won’t leave you regretting your choices. Final verdict? A solid 4 stars—a fun spot with a great atmosphere, tasty (if small) tapas, and a paella that almost nails it. Just bring an appetite… and maybe a water bottle if you’re having the chorizo.

It was lovely. I think the food was good and got 7 dishes between the two of us who was plenty. I wasn’t a fan of the bean dish but they can’t all be winners can they. The rest of the dishes were of lovely though. It was pricey though, I did feel as if one or two dishes were priced slightly high but nothing too major. Atmosphere was really cosy and vibrant so that was great. Service was also great, couldn’t fault it - shoutout to Gaudav. Overall, 100% recommend

I’m very sorry, but is a VERY EXPENSIVE rate price - quality. A expresó coffee with vanilla ice cream scoop it cost 10£. Anyway, I feel stolen

Good atmosphere. Very friendly staff. Decent portion sizes for the tapas, recommend going for this option so you can try the many tasty dishes they have to offer.

Food as usual was absolutely superb, a special mention for the gambas pil pil, quesedilla, whitebait, padron peppers and the patatas bravas - all were delicious. The cocktails were amazing and came packed full of flavour and quite a few shots (!) and are a work or art in themselves as they are so beautifully presented (the Caipirinha are especially tasty !). The restaurant was buzzing with a great atmosphere, but the service was always excellent and friendly. We had one of our best family evenings out in a long time and will be back again very soon. I cannot recommend this restaurant more highly. The owner and his wife really do go the extra mile to make sure your evening is relaxed and fun filled with delicious food and a great ambiance.

A family run business that offer a wide variety in their menu. Including Brazilian dishes! I would suggest to try the Brazilian ‘feijoada’. It is delicious! The atmosphere is very nice and they allow dogs in!

Excellent food and service - I went with a Brazilian friend and we enjoyed the cheese rolls, the fantastic feijoada and the delectable Brazilian short ribs. We can’t wait to visit again - this venue is super dog friendly too x

Jackson and his lovely staff took wonderful care of us when we held our mother’s wake at The Tapestry. They could not have been more helpful and attentive. The food was delicious and you could tell it was all freshly prepared in their kitchen. I am so pleased we decided to celebrate my mother’s life there, it truly made a difficult day easier. We dropped by the Pottery spontaneously at an awkward time of day for a meal (3pm) and were warmly welcomed. The service was extremely friendly and all the dishes we ordered were so good! Even the bread was warm and fresh. An extra surprise was kombucha that was brewed in house rather than from a can. Looking forward to our next visit.

Ashamed to say this was our first visit having lived close by for a long time. Instantly felt at home, the staff were super friendly and relaxed. The atmosphere was great and the food was exactly what we wanted, loads of different dishes for our party of eight. A couple of interesting Mexican inspired dishes was a nice surprise, nachos and quesadillas both delicious. The Spanish tortilla was a huge hit. We will definitely be back again soon.

Great food, friendly staff, had a fab evening. Pork Belly and Beef Ribs a favourite for the meat eaters. Veggies loved the Goats Cheese and Padron Peppers. Patatas Bravas all round winner with everyone.

My two daughters and I visited this lovely Tapas Bar last Friday evening and couldn’t recommend it highly enough. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the bar had a real buzz about it. We were served quickly and each of us had three tapas dishes, all delicious and more than enough. The cocktails to accompany them were also excellent. Definitely worth a visit and you won’t be disappointed.

Finally managed to go to The Pottery and it didn’t disappoint! Really cosy and quirky, lovely attentive staff (knowledgable too) and the food was delicious! Just be aware that the nachos and feta/apple salad are huge and not regular sized tapas plates. Delicious, will definitely be back. Thanks all :)

We visited for a birthday meal and just loved this place with the lovely garden. Beautiful atmosphere ,every corner. Wonderful service from every member of the staff. Especially the owner lady went the extra mile for our birthday cake. Super friendly and welcoming. (Thank you for your genuine and warm-hearted hospitality!) Many of the dishes were too spicy for our liking (lots of chilli). It would have been great if there had been an indication of this on the menu (spice rating). Having said that the food was well prepared, well presented and tasted good

Absolutely fantastic atmosphere! Food never disappoints and the service is unbelievable! Very excited to try their other venue out in Mortlake as have had such great experiences here!

Had a lovely time with my partner, when we came in we were welcomed so nicely. The staff was so friendly and welcoming, I am personally a very big fan of tapas and I have to say I was not disappointed, the food was amazing and the desserts were amazing, they really put detail in the presentation. Would definitely come back again. Best part was the garden, i did not realise how much the restaurant extended until I got there. Perfect place all year round!!!

I don't often write reviews but this place was outstanding. The decor is breathtaking - obviously someone skilled in interior design: from the colours to the butterflies on the ceiling. The food was also excellent - especially the fish cakes which had just the right amount of spicy kick and the meat skewers. I would have like to try the beef rib but would have been too much food. We went on a Monday night so it was quite quiet but I can imagine it is very busy through the weekend. Service was great but maybe flattered by it being quiet. Food arrived very fast. We will visit again.

Had a nice lunch here on a Saturday afternoon. The food was very good. My daughter especially liked the meat skewers and the potatas bravas. I liked the prawns and fish croquettes. The calimares was tasty too. The bread and Olive oil was a hit. The bread was fresh, warm and great for mopping up the remanence of anything with a sauce. Service as polite, friendly and efficient. It was quiet when I went but the decor is fine and the seating was comfortable. Overall it’s pretty good value. But I do think £9 for padron peppers is unusually high. It’s a good place

My daughters and I moved to live in Kingston upon Thames in 2017 and our first dinner took place at the Pottery. Since then this place became our perfect family gathering place where we celebrating our birthdays, achievements, bringing our family and friends for a night out, having date nights with my husband. The legendary vegetarian nachos is our “must have” at the Pottery. You can try nachos everywhere in the UK and will discover a simple truth - Pottery nachos are the best!

Really like this place, I've been many times. It's my fave restaurant in the area. The outside garden is lovely, a nice place to spend a summers evening with friends. I’ve loved going to The Pottery for at least 20 years. Jackson is a delightful host, the venue and food atmospheric and delicious respectively. A brilliant neighborhood meeting place.

Amazing food, both tapas and traditional pub grub at reasonable prices. Great selection of drinks too. Nice ambience, love the decorations especially inside. Staff are all super friendly and good at what they do, especially the manager Jackson. Always great customer service and a smile, plus a bit of banter if interested. Absolute gem of a local pub and am lucky to live near it.

We came back here yesterday after a year away, the owner/manager was as friendly as ever and we immediately felt welcome. The food was as good as we remembered, we had a mix of six tapas, a couple of San Miguel lager shandies on what was a really hot day and ice cream sorbet and passion fruit mousse for dessert. All clean plates, service with a smile and satisfied customers. Would recommend if you are in the Kingston Richmond Park area and you like Spanish food.

Wonderful time at this restaurant. It was wonderful, the staff were amazing. Jackson was incredible greeting us with a wonderful smile and his warming presence. I would definitely revisit again. Fantastic restaurant. Our waiter was amazing and brought us out a complimentary ice cream. Made my night so special!
