It's one of the very few pubs that dont smell like beer as soon as you enter. Nice ambiance and good garden seating as well

Great choice of drinks and lovely food. Kieran one of the bar staffs is very helpful

Had a lovely meal, Mailie was amazing, really polite, funny and lovely. Also a shout to Ruth and the kitchen team for getting our food out in quick time, also cooked beautifully! The chicken and leek pie is a must have!!!

This shabby, unclean pub left us feeling sorry for a local,once well loved pub. Food on the floor by the bar was ignored by the staff & they allowed 2 customers to vape indoors, making me feel ill & not wanting to stay for a meal.

You want food that is tasty? You want great music ? This is the place. Right place right time, I eat enjoys and I enjoys eats.

Decent locals pub in chessington. The pale ale was in very good condition and decent atmosphere for a Weekday afternoon.

Food twice as good as you can expect from the Chessington hotel for around half the price and only 10 minutes up the road.

I've liked and enjoyed this pub for over 30 years. Good service. Good beer. Good food. Pleasant atmosphere. Well managed. I'll be back. However, recently (31.08.24) we went to get brunch at 11:00 and were informed by phone that they wouldn't open for 30 minutes. It was frustrating and unkind.

Tom and the team at the North Star are always very helpful and polite. Special mentions to Jake and Paige who often go the extra mile. Nice to still have a decent pub in Chessington.

We've often eaten here and found the food varied and good value. Our group of friends are regular weekly visitors, greeted warmly and treated well. We'e slso been to several function and leaving parties which are always well catered for and a good atmosphere provided.

The manager Tom runs a really welcoming pub, friendly atmosphere and knows exactly what myself and 3 friends drink every Friday lunchtime.

Had a birthday party there 1st class well done.

Having booked a table at least a month ago, was upset to find that although one had been reserved for us, it was placed in an area that was already designated for use by a club!!! So we would not have had room to eat or hear ourselves talk.After much thought a space was created for us as we were a party of 6.The pub was very busy last night. This is not the first time that we have had problems after booking tables. But a big shout out to the acting manager Jackie who sorted the problem and looked after us. She is always very good.This pub is the only one in our immediate area serving food and it is a shame that they have these issues. Staff are very nice though.

decent quality overall although there was none of the expected mushrooms and only one peice of tomato! some kind of sauce or gravy would have been good. delivery driver was useless, made me wait outside my house for 10 mins while he wandered off round the corner.

Nice local pub with friendly and helpful staff. Paige behind the bar is a diamond. Affordable with good beer selections. Hope you keep the IPA on draught! Toilets could do with some replacing but to be honest after a few pints I didn't mind that much. Little garden out back is a sun trap on a nice day. I nearly fell through one of the tables but to be fair I think someone else had probably damaged it before. Clear for all to see that it is a beloved local regardless of anything else. I always enjoy my visits to The North Star Pub in Chessington!!! Great food at reasonable prices and very friendly staff. Really nice beer garden too which is perfect for a beer in the sun. Highly recommend.

Great pub to drop into for a drink and some food. Lovely staff, the landlord is a very friendly guy, his dogs much cooler than he is though.

I hadn’t visited this pub for a while but had booked a table to have dinner with friends. Everything was ready for us when we arrived and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. There were plenty of meal choices with the evening set menu being very good value for money. 3 courses for £14.99 👍🏼 We will be visiting again soon.

I’ve not eaten at this pub but just popped in for on a couple of occasions for a drink.I’m basing my rating on what I’ve seen. Guinness is well kept and the staff were extremely friendly and efficient. I could not help myself coming on here to comment on some of the negative feedback.Makes my blood boil when people come on here to criticise such things as decor, chairs & a dated toilet area. They have short memories.Covid caused many pubs to shut down & were some of the most affected businesses of all.Many were unable to retain staff & struggled for that reason when business resumed.Many will need a long time before added exspence.Just like the refurb of your home you wanted but one of you had no work for a year or 2!The areas are clean, you are not eating at the Ritz! You want cheap so accept some compromises! If your food is not as hot as you would like, simply ask them to heat it or re serve it.you’ll only have to wait a couple of minutes.Don’t put up a 1 star rating for such minor issues as this could deter hundreds of customers throughout the year.Be better human beings! I hope o speak for the manager & have said all that he would like to say but cannot!

Nice place. Just not a nice experience. The man at the front desk made it such a big problem to order food was moaning about everything we asked for him to put on order. He was the rudest bartender I’ve ever met I definitely won’t be coming back here.

I was most impressed by the friendly and helpful staff, who are a credit to themselves and The North Star. Service was excellent and friendly, and you were made to feel welcome. Food was great and my meal was more than suffice in terms of portion size. Great Manager too, who was very helpful and friendly. Car parking facilities were great. Looking forward to my return visit on Sunday, with an elderly friend of mine.

Absolutely appaling roast , gamon was like an old bit of leather , potatoes, and veg cold . Didn't get to try the Yorkshire pud as took both dinners back. Waitress couldn't stop apologising , offered another dinner but couldn't bring myself to. Went to the Toby Carvery instead . Staff were very accommodating which was a bonus. Wouldn't recommend. Sorry North Star .

Good food and staff. Dropped in on the off chance of a Sunday Roast, which we ended up with three courses all very good and would recommend.

Where was the meal? We ordered half a roast chicken Sunday dinner, we only had a leg. No carrots. The rest of the meal was tiny. Ordered for 3 adults and the portions were child sized! Very disappointed!!!

We had a warm and friendly welcome. All the staff were polite and helpful. Food was of a good standard with ample portions. My only gripe was the time from ordering to receiving our meal was a little longer that I would have hoped . This however did not spoil our visit .

Booked for Mother’s Day lunch arrived there to be told the majority of the menu was out of stock so had to get my deposit back and leave, extremely disappointed as no where had availability so ruined our Mother’s Day!

Visited the North Star, was so impressed with the friendliness of both the bar staff and manager who walked around talking to customers. High recommendation.

Lovely food and atmosphere had a lovely mother's day down there highly recommended would benefit from a refurb hopefully will be in the near future as will be deserved in this pub.

This was my 3rd attempt there will not be a 4th.

Pleasant pub which is child friendly at lunch time. With an outside sitting area for fine days and typical pub food served by friendly staff it is convenient for local amenities and has on-site parking for customers.

great all week round but best day is Tuesday as that's when the quiz master ruth does her weekly quiz and bingo. plus good well-behaved dog are aloud.

I've been to the North Star plenty, the staff are always friendly, the service was quick, the food was great. It's an Ember inn, so I got the mixed grill, which is mega, but hits the spot. The atmosphere was inviting, and It was baltic when I rocked up, but the pub was warm and seemed pretty family friendly. Would happily drop it again.

The two ladies on duty were extremely calm and efficient. However large parties which had not booked or had doubled the number boked for were overloading the kitchen and we had to wait for over an hour for our lunch. When we did get it it was at best luke warm and the portions were not large and the gravy sparse. The pub is very run down and the chairs were ripped and grubby looking. We had to move table twice - once because the table was in a draught from the fire exit and it was quite chilly, once because the child of a party in the same area as us was allowing it to run riot and scream. We were looking to book this for our club to have Sunday Lunch in but there is no way we could bring them here. The Ember group needs to put some money into the building and providing adequate staff.

The decor is dated but the food is good and the staff are friendly and helpful. The pub has a lovely local pub vibe. We go in as a large group every Thursday evening and always enjoy ourselves.

My scout group meet here regularly for meetings and we always recieve great service. We have had Christmas meals and will always go back again. I am also a member of the local running group and we meet there every week. The welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff is always the same. Great service. They need to be given some Money from senior management to help with the upkeep of the building, toilets and furniture before it gets worse!

I've been using this pub for a year now and the staff have always been very friendly, very helpful and always accommodating. The pub has a friendly atmosphere, always busy and has many locals. It has huge potential for being a lovely local. If only EMBER INN would think to giving the place a face lift and some new public health facilities (very dated!) This pub is loved by many, if not EMBER INN.

My local and still good to visit.

Many very damaged chairs with significant gashes and foam showing. Mediocre food which took over an hour to arrive and one of the dishes was wrong. Due to how long it took to arrive and how poor the dishes looked we chose not to contest it. Bad service, including multiple points with no member of staff behind the bar and a particularly apathetic waiter who practically threw desserts at us after mumbling what they were. Toilets were grimy

Go there every Monday, it's a bit hit and miss on what they have in stock. Great game to find out what they're run out of, the manager ALWAYS blames the delivery company. No lime juice, no processco this week.

The time the food takes to arrive is astonishing. Constantly chasing to see when food would arrive. It wasn't heaving at all so it was unclear why it was so delayed. The food was nice as always but this will be the last time we visit you. The toilets need attention. So many cobwebs and dust and dirt along the skirting. They look very grotty they need a thorough inspection and a clean. The disabled toilet was equally dirty and it isn't an environment you even want to do your business in. Please can someone look at this feedback and action it please? The toilets are a simple fix

Went up there for dinner and had no steak. Nothing else on the menu took my fancy. My partner had her food and I went hungry.

The cider on tap is terrible when I have been there and eaten I shouldn’t of bothered no deals on any shots and that’s if they even have any in stock and the amount of people I’ve spoken to that have been served raw food I have lost count

The food took more than 45 working days to come to are table and was dry and had no flavour all round a bad experience and food bought from locale shop

Great atmosphere, live band was really good and staff were great. Only very small criticism is that they seemed to keep running out of glasses

Came here for the first time, wasn’t even busy and food took at least an hour to come out, it was cold, overcooked and dry ( ordered steak and chips ). Constantly fighting off flies when I’m trying to eat inside the pub, the interior was really rubbed down and needs a refurb plus the men’s toilet is disgusting, stinks and really run down. Will not be returning here again.

Great Garden Space, Great Staff and a Nice Venue. you walk in to a good team who are happy to serve and chat with good brewed beer and fair prices. Good food deals and an ok eat. We'll be back as its again a decent local.

Food was ok mushrooms and fish were very grease but edible. The staff were very friendly and one guy was very helpful and couldn't do enough to help but can't remember his name but he had a beard if that helps so yes all good.
