Over priced, small portions of food. But staff very friendly.

Had dinner here on a glorious evening in the sun and sat on a table overlooking the river. Great location, atmosphere and food. Service was prompt and food portions were generous.

Lovely outdoor area. Sun trap sheltered from the river breeze. Order at the bar which is good you don't have a split bill issue at the end of you meal. Pimms on Tap. Perfect for a sunny day. Vibey atmosphere. Great location. Walk in tables available from 12pm 😎

What can I say? Stunning location, looks good, feels good, and it is good! The staff are amazing. Friendly, professional, and work fast and hard. The food is truly amazing!

This is my 4th visit to the Boater’s inn and I was very disappointed with my experience. We first got told that we can’t have the shepherd’s pie until they sell the last fish pie even though one of us didn’t eat fish, a burger we ordered with bacon came without any bacon and a monk fish advertised as being served with a samphire bhaji got served with three sticks of tempura samphire. The manager did take 20% off the bill but still included service. It was almost as if they thought they were doing us a charitable favour by serving us food. Totally ridiculous, inadequately handled and mediocre food. Don’t we will be returning again.

Lovely evening on the terrace having dinner by the river. Dogs welcome and very friendly. Our waitress Heather was very attentive and friendly. She made the experience very relaxed and enjoyable.

Our local. I continually yearn for it to be taken over by someone who sees its phenomenal potential. Hasn't happened in my ten years living here. We live in hope.

Really disappointing place as most of the space inside is reserved for people who want to eat, leaving those who are just stopping by for a drink outside. Despite the website also advertising non alcoholic beer on draft, this was also not available. We turned around and visited a more inclusive place instead.

Have had great experiences here in the past however recently went and place was all reserved. Able to get a table outside and the bench was full of dog sh#t which got all over my sons clothes. The reserved tables inside looked to be no shows and still wasn't allowed to sit. Again outside gazebo tables had left and wouldn't allow anyone to sit inside leaving the whole tent empty What a shame

The atmosphere is great for meeting friends for a drink. However, I am disappointed that the food isn't as good as it used to be. I don't recommend it. Today, my meal was over-fried and tasted off.

We ate here recently, after a walk with the dog. My partner had the burger which was nice. I had the prawn and monkfish curry, which was tasty but the portion was so small I was still hungry after eating. Not good value..

My husband and I had a lovely visit to the Boaters Inn, Kingston. Situated on the Thames near Kingston bridge the pub has different seating areas and it is advisable to book a table as it is a very popular place to eat and drink. Good selection of beer and food. We very much enjoyed the view of the river from the decking area with high stools. Service was good and the pub had a nice vibe.

Beautiful location and views from the pub. Great Veg/Vegan options and staff is very friendly. Enjoyed my little pit stop on the river walk for a coffee and sourdough bread hummus.

Stopped for a drink and had a great Pimns cocktail and beer, feeling peckish after walking via Ham house from Norbiton!!! We shared a knickerbokerglory. Appetites were stimulated by the sight of fish and chips from another table. Having sat outside in the sunshine and really enjoyed our choices we came inside. Made for the corner indoor sunny seats on a table. We had considered letting our snack go down to order food. Before sitting an officious waitress told us to sit at the back of the pub as she was setting up for diners. Her manner cold, unwelcoming and basically a complete dampener. We said we wanted good light to do a crossword. . She RUINED the afternoon for us. Totally broke the experience. You lost the custom, good feeling and positive review. We would have lingered, ate a main course and drunk wine. Never again. She needs hospitality training for sure.

I really like this pub. It's quite big but is separated into distinct areas that give in a cost feel. Friendly staff, decent ales, great food and overlooks the river.

We five (OAP) friends visited the Boathouse for lunch. We had a very warm welcome and our server - Madi - was superb (efficient and very customer-focused). There was a wide choice of food and it was served fresh and in a timely fashion.

Went here on valentines with my boyfriend. The atmosphere is really nice . Danielle was very friendly and attentive. Food was spot on- need to try to chicken skewers if you visit.

Just finished dinner here, what a lovely pub! Great pints on tap, my friend liked the selection of wines and our food was delicious. Really recommend ravioli and the chickpea salad, and my friend said her sea bass was excellent. Will be back!

Had a walk along the Thames and came across a beautiful pub, stopped in for a bite and a drink and will be back again. Was served by Freddie who was the most welcoming staff member we have encountered. Would recommend

Such a beautiful location & cosy warm atmosphere. Always a treat being here! Except for the time I had an oddly warm Caesar salad.

Sunday roasts were generous and delicious, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the view was pleasant - but it was a bit chilly. Miind you it was a very cold day.

I don’t usually leave reviews but feel compelled. Xmas day dinner here was awful. Food badly prepared and in parts inedible. Absolutely no atmosphere and service was sparse. Was supposed to be a real treat but couldn’t have been worse.

Lovely pub to cozy up in winter or great for the beer garden in the summer. Great food and good selection of beverages.

First of all it was very busy as it was Christmas day, and the meal was advertised as £88 per head. The venue was decked out beautifully and looked really festive. We ordered drinks, drinks were wrong and had to clarify and send one back, starters were gorgeous we had the chowder and artichoke soufflé which were lovely. I had the turkey and my husband had the beef wellington, I have to say the mains were a real let down, massively undercooked roast carrot, far too sweet red cabbage, dry turkey and we ordered sides of Brussels (which were threatened with some hot water but enough to reduce bullet like texture), pigs in blankets and stuffing, the stuffing was blond and cold due to undercooking and the pigs in blankets were also undercooked and cold mainly due to lack of blankets, the bacon had come off before it reached our table. The desserts arrived, my husband had chocolate tart and I had the cheese plate, the decision had been made to drizzle some disgustingly sweet and smokey clear stickiness over the cheese and crackers so everything was contaminated with it, and barely enough crackers to eat half the cheese! The meal was very much a disappointment, however it was Christmas day and it was very busy and I was grateful to have not cooked, we didnt say anything about the food as we didnt want to be ungrateful on Christmas day! However the bill arrived... we had paid half of the £88 each for a reservation fee and the bill came to £253 on top of the £88 we had already paid, we had two cokes, two glasses of brut at £11 and a mulled wine, nothing excessive so we were quite shocked that this would have cost £330 for two! On further examination of the bill, two "fudge dishes" had been "mistakenly added to the bill adding £60 and £7 of the 12.5% gratuity. On mentioning this to the waitress she just said "we at least you checked it" i have to say we were glad to leave. The food was not worth the cost, neither was the service. I get it was christmas day and the starters were lovely but the mains, sides were extremely disappointing and the dessert was not at all to my taste. But thank you for providing a lovely atmosphere on Christmas day!

A fabulous Festive Menu 3 course lunch today! We all had different choices and all nine were not only delicious but original. Well done chef for a very enjoyable Christmas treat. Highly recommended!

Amazing food, arrived at the table pipping hot and fresh. Waiting staff was really kind and attentive so we will deffinetly be coming back.

I had dinner here the other day the views are lovely especially as the sun goes down. We really enjoyed the fish + chips and the chickpea salad. The food came fast and the service was good.

Great to have the Boaters as a local pub. Frequently bring the family here when they visit and it never disappoints. Quieter on my last visit, but only to be expected in October. Still, service was on point and the cheeseburger was delicious. Thoroughly recommended.

What I love about this place is that it makes me feel like I'm in a time warp. The Victorian architecture, the ambiance against the river, the calmness away from the crowds and the natural environment make you feel in a very peaceful environment. My only criticism is that the prices are high and you can't spend enough time there. This puts a strain on your budget. It is still my favourite place here in Kingston 👑

One of our favourite local pubs. Come on a sunny afternoon and watch the sunset from the small balcony facing west. It's truly something.

Just came for a riverside drink and sat at the counter overlooking the river on a beautiful autumn evening. We chatted while watching rowers and swans. Magical!

This is one of our local pubs and usually is brilliant beyond complaint. However the last few times we have been there we have been acutely disappointed. Most notably on purchasing the special; a monkfish and "king prawn" curry. Always a risk as you can guarantee the fish is frozen and not fresh... This 'special' was on the dear side for what turned out to be a painfully small portion made up of 3 prawns and 2 bits of monkfish (a mouthful at best and not a large piece of fish) The rice was a gesture on the plate, the whole thing was a complete let down. Horribly disappointing and despite voicing my disapproval and disappointment, nothing was said, done, passed on. My poor husband for paying the bill which wasn't small, for a meal that was completely devoid of the primary ingredients, super small, and overall - unbearably overpriced. Whilst this is our local, with a lovely view, we will seriously be reconsidering coming here again for food.

Great food, atmosphere and river location. However, female manager very abrupt and abrasive manner when asking a member of our group to see his id when he ordered a beer with his meal. He was 19 and sat with adults. Appreciate it was her right to do so but she was very stony faced and hostile and it was as if he was guilty! She needs to work on her people skills. Otherwise a lovely evening and our waiter, a young guy with dark hair, was charming, attentive and full of charisma

The Boaters is one of my locals and have been going here for many years and can honestly say I’d rather go here than any posh restaurant in London. The food is fantastic and the roast dinners are excellent. Best I’ve ever had! Staff are super kind, warm and friendly and you get to know them and make you feel like you’ve never left.

The food here is nothing short of exceptional. You can tell everything is fresh and not frozen, located in a beautiful area of Kingston. The staff are very warm and welcoming and gave me and my family a wonderful evening. I had the steak and it was cooked to perfection! Thank you!

We were wrongly accused of doing class A drugs in the toilet despite watching a member of staff who was off duty go into the cubicle before us…. Another person was given a burger with literal mould on… I had a fish finger sandwich which was dry and tasteless.. also almost 5 hours after eating it I was sick… not sure if it correlates but due to the atrocious lack of hygiene standards in the kitchen I wouldn’t second guess it. Giving 5* for atmosphere because the wedding party made the atmosphere and before shift change the bar staff were amazing, accommodating and polite, feel some staff training is needed for people skills and food hygiene.

Had Sunday roast lunch. We ordered the beetroot hummus starter, which is something I wouldn’t have ordered myself but my friend did and it was really yummy. Sunday roast chicken with a side of cheeses cauliflower was also ordered, and everything was cooked perfectly with the chicken being tender. As I don’t eat pork / beef, they gave me veggie gravy. Shame the peach Melba was out. Instead, we ordered sticky toffee pudding and profiteroles. The only issue with the food was profiteroles tasted not fresh and dry/hard. Everything else was delicious! Good gin and tonics. Service was also great. Great atmosphere on the riverside too!

This pub has a lovely setting on the Thames, however, on a Bank Holiday Monday the food left much to be desired. The fish and chips were possibly the worst we have ever been served: the batter was rock hard; the fish was dry and there was very little of it; the chips were overcooked. Had we not been there as guests of a family member, we would have sent the dishes back.
