The Bishop in Kingston upon Thames

We really enjoyed our Sunday lunch at The Bishop. The staff were incredibly helpful and attentive and the food was great. The Bishop is in a great location and it was lovely to be able to look out over the river. Thank you!

Came for the Sunday Roast and it was excellent. Massive portion and really tasty. Also ordered the Doggy roast dinner for my pooch, which was also massive and he loved it. The cost of the doggy dinner is also donated to charity which is really nice. The service was excellent, Sofia and Ben were really attentive and patient with me asking lots of questions around the content of the sausage that came with the dog dinner! Great lunch and I will certainly book again.

Bianca and Ben were so lovely, they made us feel so comfortable and welcome, I had an amazing steak and the courgette fries, washed down with a beautiful wine. Thank you so much

Lovely pub on the river - really good views, especially on a sunny day. Good food and friendly staff. My only criticism is the TVs aren't very big during big sports games, but that's a minor niggle.

The celeriac mash was delicious and the vegetables were beautifully prepared. We really enjoyed our vegan roast and wonderful to have a vegan chocolate mousse which was lovely but I personally would have liked it to be less sweet. The coffees were great. Atmosphere was lively and warm. Thoroughly enjoyable way to spend a Sunday afternoon! Highly recommended it!

We had a large group of people for a major birthday and the Bishop were really accommodating and helpful throughout. Food was great and bar staff friendly, quick and attentive. Overall the evening went very well thanks to the continuous attentiveness of the staff - huge thank you to them all

I spent a lovely afternoon here at the Bishop. The roast beef was only out of this world, followed by a harty apple and fig crumble with lemon thyme custard . I was a bit sceptical at first, but it was delicious. The service from Bianca was first class.

This was a good pub but very very expensive. Over £7 for a pint of peroni!?! I guess you pay premium for being on the riverside but I didn't realise the Thames was so expensive.

Yet again another lovely Christmas dinner. Staff amazing as always lovely relaxed atmosphere. Gift bag was a lovely touch just a bit unsure which of us the Christmas activity book and crayons were for 😃xx

Bianca was the loveliest, most efficient waitress i have met while being in London. Very welcoming and kind!

We booked a table in advance for dinner and were glad as it was the annual carol concert/sing-along and the place was rammed! The food was pretty average, and we were disappointed to be honest. I had T bone pork which was a good size portion came with (very nice) chips and a tiny handful of watercress but there were no other veg. There was barely any apple sauce either (I know I could've asked for more!) My friend had the haddock and chips and said it was very average. We enjoyed the drinks and the service so we still had a great time. I think there is a lot of competition locally and the food really needs to improve if the pub is going to have an edge and appeal to local visitors/residents.

Bianca is always so very welcoming and so friendly and chatty. She also loves a cuddle with our dog Winston! This is always makes the experience special in the Bishop and makes this our pub choice in Kingston after shopping!

Had a Christmas three course lunch here and it was absolutely delightful. Delicious food and plentiful portions! The pub is lovely, traditional and cosy, with excellent views across the Thames. Ben and the team were so welcoming and friendly, they really went the extra mile to make sure everything was perfect. I shall definitely be returning again!

I brought my team of 43 here for a Christmas party. We took over the 1st floor and balcony. From start to finish, the team at The Bishop were outstanding. Ben was great at helping with planning, organising and the team were regularly in touch to make sure things were on track. On the evening itself, Bea laid out the room beautifully with a great table setting and allowed us space to create a dancefloor. Between Bea and Sky, they were fantastic hosts with there friendly and efficient service. The rest of the team were also great making sure the food was delivered promptly. I don't think we could have asked for more. We will definitely be looking to book next year's party here. Thank you Bishop team.

This was my first time coming to the bishop and I was really empressed by Em service. Their drinks and food was very good and I would highly recommend anyone to come to this pub.

A few friends and I stopped in here for a few drinks. Great service from Em, Charles and B, really kind and lovely people and made us feel very welcome. The cocktails were and mulled wine were fabulous

My third time dining upstairs at The Bishop, Kingston. Fabulous pub with wonderful views of the Thames. The decor is cosy and interesting, the food and ales are delicious and the staff are always really friendly and accommodating. BIANCA looked after us today and couldn’t have been nicer nor more welcoming. She and her colleagues are always so cheerful and friendly. My dog really appreciated her “Dog’s Dinner” from the menu as well. Thank you all for such a lovely afternoon. Looking forward to my next visit 🤩

Really busy with a good atmosphere on a Sunday afternoon however when we initially arrived the table booked had been taken (or double booked) so we had to wait to be seated. Eventually the seating arrangements got sorted. Food was mediocre particularly at the price paid. We had two kids with us who got their food after we got ours (kids food should normally come first and straight away). We waited 45 minutes to get our food and as they were busy a lady at our table just asked the server was some of the sides due to come when he arrived to the table with other food just so they were not forgotten. The gentleman serving who I believe might have actually been the manager shockingly made a bizarre sarcastic comment that he only had two hands and couldn't carry the rest rather than what you would normally expect a waiter to say that it was on the way. He then went onto say that it was just a joke- backtracking his initial comments. Really poor attitude and poor service. Our plates were not even cleared and left on our tables when we were having desserts. On a positive the Guinness was good.....

Visited The Bishop today for a lovely Sunday roast and definitely was not disappointed. Sophie and Sofia were looking after us, and we felt so welcomed. Although the pub was absolutely rammed, the atmosphere was lovely, and food came in a timely manner. Sadly, they ran out of horseradish, but the Beef Rump tasted amazing with or without. Definitely worth visiting

Didn't get any food here but I think they have a good menu, wasn't busy at all and we ws there on a Saturday lunch time, a very spacious place inside and out, set by the river Thames you get a good view with your pint

Awful food. But you have to respect then charging in £1.50 for gravy to go with the side order of mash.

It is a nice place to have a Peroni. However, you really need to hire some more people, you get huge lines and get extremely busy

A great sized portion- so full!! A very warm, hearty lunch for a Sunday and great atmosphere by the river. Sounds silly but the truffle fries were my favourite! Then the ham mac n cheese! Great food overall:)

We had a lovely lunch here last week. The table service was great, the waitress was somebody who obviously enjoyed her job and did it well, and we told her so. From Liverpool I think, forgotten her name. Food was very tasty, we all loved our dishes. We're booked here for Xmas day and am now very much looking forward to it.

Impeccable service. Greeted at the door and made to feel welcome from the start. Extremely dog friendly and a lovely location by the river. The ham hock was superb. A must visit when in Kingston

Unbelievable. One of the last vestiges of a proper pub with food that leaves you utterly speechless. I had the smoked pork belly - what a journey. And Ben our server was perfect for helping navigate this treasure island of a menu. 10/10

Me and some friends stopped by for a Sunday roast a few nights back, I had the Roast Beef which had the BEST dripping gravy! The food came out hot and with decent portion sizes too. I finished the meal off with the sticky toffee, which I HIGHLY recommend!

Popped in for a midday meal to fuel up for a shopping spree! Lovely location on the Thames, with great service. The gammon, egg and chips was really, really good - the gammon was very tender and just fell off the bone. Yum.

This was in a lovely position right by the riverside, with seating outside as well as in! We stayed inside as was quieter! Had a lovely pint of real ale called Shere Drop from a local brewery! The food we had was delicious and will be going back again next time we're in Kingston! The service was also good despite being busy outside!

First time visit to The Bishop. Was lured in by the 193rd app drink offer, and also needed a good space to work during the afternoon. Very much enjoyed the visit. Atmosphere great, friendly staff, socket to plug laptop into so can work, WiFi and generally a chilled place! Tucked into a fantastic lemon drizzle cake - was mmmmm yum.. Look forward to returning. Great cause #DOGSFORGOOD !

Food was poor. £17-£20 for a burger that was nothing special. Cutlery put on the table with napkins for us to hand out ourselves. Kept the main doors open far too late, people sat in coats eating food.

Every time I go to the bishop for lunch I always have the fish and chips, it’s always outstanding and knocks spots off a traditional fish shop. Crispy batter and great chunky chips. Also staff are always so welcoming.

I had the fish and chips here which were delicious and the portion size was very generous! Great atmosphere, I will be sure to return soon.

Visited for a Sunday Roast this afternoon. The service particularly stood out- there was a small mistake with a drink order but it was sorted out really quickly & Sophie was really helpful and friendly. We’ll definitely visit again!

⭐️⭐️ We called ahead to check on the Sunday roast options and were told there were plenty of beef roasts, along with some duck, but no chicken or pork. We said we'd arrive in 15 minutes but actually got there in 5. Upon arrival, we were told there was only one beef roast left, so my friend had to settle for the chicken, despite being told there were none earlier. The beef roast I ordered was extremely chewy, almost like eating a boot. I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt since we arrived around 5pm, but the portion sizes were also quite disappointing. We each received just one carrot and a small portion of greens. The potatoes were undercooked and could have been roasted for much longer. We asked for extra gravy when our food arrived, but it didn’t come until we were nearly finished. The staff did apologise and said they were busy, but the pub was very quiet, and I saw three staff members chatting as I passed by on my way to the washroom. The young staff seemed inexperienced or possibly mismanaged, as there was a clear lack of attention and care. It's a shame we were served what felt like the scraps of the roasts and veg, especially considering the £21.50 price tag. For that price, you expect much better quality and honesty upfront. Sadly, it didn’t live up to the expectations, and we left disappointed.

We came here for a Sunday roast on a surprisingly nice September afternoon. We were greeted by welcoming staff members and shown to our table in a lovely outdoor area on the river. Our food was promptly served and was excellent, especially the fish and chips and the beef roast. We were looked after by Charles, any visitor to this establishment would be lucky to visit when he is working.

After previously having a delicious Sunday roast lunch, I thought I would return to the Bishop and try the chicken salad for dinner. While the evening weather and river view was gorgeous, the salad left alot to be desired. £16 for a plate of cos lettuce leaves with a few pieces of shredded chicken and 6 anchovies plus a few croutons. Barely any protein hidden under the leaves. While the salad dressing was delicious, the service was lacking as much as the chicken. Quite disappointing considering previous experience and value for money.

Sophie was our server and she was wonderful! Prompt and lovely ☺️
