Food was poor. £17-£20 for a burger that was nothing special. Cutlery put on the table with napkins for us to hand out ourselves. Kept the main doors open far too late, people sat in coats eating food.

Every time I go to the bishop for lunch I always have the fish and chips, it’s always outstanding and knocks spots off a traditional fish shop. Crispy batter and great chunky chips. Also staff are always so welcoming.

Amazing place with very good service and delightful food and a good drink selection. So happy to have been here!

We came here for a Sunday roast on a surprisingly nice September afternoon. We were greeted by welcoming staff members and shown to our table in a lovely outdoor area on the river. Our food was promptly served and was excellent, especially the fish and chips and the beef roast. We were looked after by Charles, any visitor to this establishment would be lucky to visit when he is working.

Visited for a Sunday Roast this afternoon. The service particularly stood out- there was a small mistake with a drink order but it was sorted out really quickly & Sophie was really helpful and friendly. We’ll definitely visit again!

⭐️⭐️ We called ahead to check on the Sunday roast options and were told there were plenty of beef roasts, along with some duck, but no chicken or pork. We said we'd arrive in 15 minutes but actually got there in 5. Upon arrival, we were told there was only one beef roast left, so my friend had to settle for the chicken, despite being told there were none earlier. The beef roast I ordered was extremely chewy, almost like eating a boot. I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt since we arrived around 5pm, but the portion sizes were also quite disappointing. We each received just one carrot and a small portion of greens. The potatoes were undercooked and could have been roasted for much longer. We asked for extra gravy when our food arrived, but it didn’t come until we were nearly finished. The staff did apologise and said they were busy, but the pub was very quiet, and I saw three staff members chatting as I passed by on my way to the washroom. The young staff seemed inexperienced or possibly mismanaged, as there was a clear lack of attention and care. It's a shame we were served what felt like the scraps of the roasts and veg, especially considering the £21.50 price tag. For that price, you expect much better quality and honesty upfront. Sadly, it didn’t live up to the expectations, and we left disappointed.

Nice clean pub with nice staff and nice views and seating outside. Clean toilets. Youngs pub.

After previously having a delicious Sunday roast lunch, I thought I would return to the Bishop and try the chicken salad for dinner. While the evening weather and river view was gorgeous, the salad left alot to be desired. £16 for a plate of cos lettuce leaves with a few pieces of shredded chicken and 6 anchovies plus a few croutons. Barely any protein hidden under the leaves. While the salad dressing was delicious, the service was lacking as much as the chicken. Quite disappointing considering previous experience and value for money.

Absolutely love this little gem. Kingston is gone downhill in recent years in comparison to it used to. However, this seems to be one of the decent bars that still available. Great for a day time wine a. Profoundly lack of people taking drugs in the bathrooms which good!

We was really looking forward to going here but our food was not the best I went for the steak asked for medium rare it was still definitely raw to rare the mash potato was lumpy and horrible also tried the fish it was very fishy and definitely not the most fresh fish

If you are thinking of having a meal and drinks at this place is to stay outside. Inside is both dark and dingy. Watch out for chipped glasses and chipped plates! If you have any other places in mind, better you try them first before you stop to eat and drink here. Whilst the food isn't bad, the ethos of the place isn't positive. I think inside could do with a complete makeover.

Lovely riverside pub though outside seating could be a little more comfortable.

Great family celebration of my brother’s birthday this lunchtime. Food was really nice - and good atmosphere on this lovely sunny day. Special thanks to Bianca who looked after us all so well - very attentive, personable and helpful with everything - including our special requests (eg for peas to be added to the kids burger meal) - she is a real role model for anyone working in the hospitality industry.

We were there on July 25th, for the second time. A stone's throw from the Thames on Kingston's riverfront. Family atmosphere, excellent Italian cuisine that also respects international needs. Well-stocked wine cellar and various types of beers. It did not disappoint expectations. I recommend it if you are in London or nearby!

Lovely pub with friendly staff and quick service. Been going here over 30 years and it just keeps getting better, now has a nice outdoor area with great river views. Cosy inside, when no covid of course. One of the best pubs in Kingston and also does great food at reasonable prices.

Amazing place just by the side of the river. Beautiful place for a date in a stylish place. I would like to recommend the catch of the day. Dish was really nicely prepared.

Great spot to chill outside with a cold drink in the sunshine. Enjoyed fish and chips and a cold beer with a pal. Does get busy around peak times but worth it!

We've always had a lovely time at The Bishop! The service by Emily during our last visit last week was fabulous, despite it being a busy evening. Lovely food and drinks as well the desserts. Always a memorable time by the riverside at The Bishop.

An average pub in terms of atmosphere and service, but prices are bit steep. It's located near rose theatre on the banks of Thames at Kingston We ordered couple of potato fries, pints of beer and a glass of red wine costing over £51. The portions of fries were really small. Beware, there's no parking. Closest car park is rise theatre that charges £2.50 /hr

Had lunch there a few days back and used the app to order food and drinks. Emily brought our drinks to us and very nicely questioned if we met to order what we did. She was very correct in that we, in fact, ordered the wrong thing. She quickly rectified it for us, which we most appreciated. The food was standard pub food but pretty tasty abd arrived quickly.

Food is delicious, atmosphere warm and welcoming as well as being situated in a lovely area.

England v Netherlands. Excellent table reserved for us, again in the upstairs bar. Bar servers all friendly, welcoming and very efficient indeed! Nothing was too much trouble. Perfect for the evening - and the right result also supplied, again. Just one more result to deliver, folks. Food taken this time - burgers all round (perfect for the occasion and timing) - all excellent. Well done again The Bishop.

We had a large booking here on Sunday and the food was second to none! Possibly some of the best pub food I’ve ever had! Those who had the roast dinner said it was fantastic and the burger I had was great too! Kids food was bang on and the service from the staff was pleasant and friendly! Will definitely come back again soon thank you

Popped to the bishop yesterday as I have not been there in over 40 years was one of my haunts as a teenager had a long talk with the barmaids which were fantastic staff so nice to have friendly welcome in staff.... thank you girls .. only there for the beer 🍻🍻

We had a lovely day on the river goboating and then popped into The Bishop not intending to have a meal but so glad we were persuaded to try the new menu item - bee roast on the bone to share! Added to friendly and attentive service this experience made our Fathers Day complete!

I booked for 20 people for a birthday party. The staff were very friendly, super helpful to help organise the event and on the day, they were really nice and accommodating, especially Bianca who went out if her way to ensure we all had a great night!!

Came here last week for a meal and can't fault it. Great atmosphere, lovely staff and delicious food - especially the fish and chips! We will definitely be coming again

Ate here after a short river cruise from Hampton Court . We ordered at the bar and the food came out promptly . We both ordered the pork belly roast and it was totally amazing .The pork was beautifully cooked and tender. it came out with cabbage , carrots , swede, parsnips , roast potatoes and a Yorkshire pudding , on the side was a small dish of apple sauce, and a small jug of gravy . We asked for extra gravy and it wasn't a problem and came straight out. Puddings were lovely , however despite asking if the bread and butter pudding was hot , it came out cold with hot custard . The banoffee pie and sticky toffee puddings were great . Food portions are big, you won't be leaving here hungry, that's for sure. Nice place overlooking the Thames along side other eateries , very clean . Polite hardworking staff . Ticked all our boxes .

Went on 1June with three friends. Having visited before many times this visit was really disappointing. Ordered 3 Fish and Chips and one warm Ceasar salad. The fish batter was overdone and fish dry (chips were OK). The Ceasar salad was basically lettuce with dressing, three pieces of chicken on top, and a large lump of chicken skin rolled up under the lettuce. We asked to speak to Manager but he didn’t bother, the waiter was very apologetic and offered a 20% discount. We will NOT be going back.

I came with a few friends over the weekend, it was very busy but the waiter was great! I had delicious burger so did a couple of my other friends and my partner had a massive fish and chips which looked amazing! Great views of the bridge too!

Great venue right by the river, seating upstairs too. Staff friendly, drinks are average price food is good. Seating area outside the only downside is limited cocktails and my best friend and I do love a cocktail 🍹🍹

We had an amazing meal at the Bishop. The fish and chips were brilliant, and the banoffee pie was the best pudding we have had in forever. The whole team were great, and Emily looked after us really well.

Took a group of 24 people for a college reunion. The food was excellent, although a number of desserts were not available. our servers especially Charles and Emily couldn't have been more helpful.

Great service at The Bishop and great outdoor seating area to enjoy the river on a sunny day. Shame about the smokers and the extortionate wine prices but food was excellent and our server Emily went above and beyond to make sure we were happy throughout

Very good food here in this really nice pub by the river in Kingston. Service was a bit slow initially taking our order as there only seemed to be 2 people on duty. But the food was served promptly. It was really good quality and quantity and was much better and more interesting than the usual pub fare

The vibe and the restaurant is really nice. We got the chicken roast. I personally didn’t like the stuffed chicken bit, and thought it was a bit overpriced.
